Aggregator - Multi-SCO Project

Hi all,
I tried to create a multi-SCO project by Aggregator, adding two modules (two Scorm 1.2 packages, first lesson and second lesson), but when I publish the project and try to see it, it doesn't work properly: the second module reset every two/three seconds.
I need to publish more lessons with dependences (for example: I can't see second lesson before ending the first one): it's possible?
Are there any options or settings?
Thank you in advance.
Chiara B.

  • Help: Multi-SCO Project - Module does not update after reupload.

hi, I created 4 courses in captivate 4 and repackaged them using the multi-sco projezct function in captivate 4. I uploaded the zip file on our LMS and then the developer went ahead to select assemble courses from lms to add two quizzes (not created with captivate) to make another course. Developer selects from a list of courses including ones from the multi-sco project. However when i went to update the Multi-sco files (since they were in capt 4 and now i update it with captivate 5 version), only 3 of the files are updating, one of the modules refuses to update itself. However, when i looked at the multi-sco project i uploaded on the lms it is updated all four courses, but in the new assembled course one of the modules refuses to update. I have tried updating all the files on the lms with the same name as tha particular course but it still doesnt work.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on. And how i can fix it?

    yep same problem here
i had this problem and got a replacement handset.
i have had to do an update and got the same issue yet again.
The funny thing is, is when i got my new handset i had to run the email setup application and it worked fine.
now its failed and i have to boot in safe mode and wipe etc.
Will someone sort this out???!! O2, Blackberry whoever. Shambles!

  • Questions about multi-sco and Aggregator

    Hi all,
I'm trying to create a multi-sco course with three lessons using Captivate Aggregator, but I have some problems.
First of all, once first lesson finishes, the second doesn't automatically start: the course stops at the end of first lesson.
How do I get to the second lesson to launch automatically when I finish the  first one?
Scorm version is 1.2 (I can't use 2004), Captivate settings are the follows:
    Project
    First lesson's last slide
    - on slide enter: continue
-on slide exit: go to next slide
    Last slide button
    -on success: continue
    - allow user infinite attempts
After that, I create second and third slide and then the multi-sco project with Aggregator, but It doesn't work.
I'm testing it both on LMS and in local with Reload Scorm Player.
There is another problem: on this forum and in this tutorial (http://blogs.adobe.com/captivate/2009/01/ at the end of page) It suggest to add on aggregator files swfs: if I open Aggregator and select multi-sco project, I CAN'T add anything but zip.files.
In tutorial under "adding Flash swfs" It allows adding both zip and swfs.... in my Aggregator not.
    Tutorial:
    My aggregator:
    I can't understand why.
    Any hints?

I am FAR from being an expert with Aggregator and Multi-SCO builder, but I have learned this much:
    a. Aggregator is far simpler to use and works more consistently. To get one course to open first, once you "ADD" the courses in Aggregator, use the ARrow tool to move the one you want to open first up.
    b. Multi_SCO is much more complicated to use, but I think that is really what you want to use, unless you like that huge gray tab hanging off the side.
I am LEARNING this stuff every day and here is what I know so far... somebody out there please jump in and correct me if I'm wrong but here's the way I am trying to use the MULTI-SCO builder. I am doing this....
    1. I have a course with 8 modules. Even tho every module doesn't have a test, it still needds to have a Manifest. To do that, I go into each course and  turn ON "Report Score." Inside each module, within the SCORM Manifest, I then give each module a DIFFERENT sco identifier name. I use numbers with the names and keep the order sequential, depending on what I want to load when... i.e.,  SCO_1 (no spaces in the names here) for the first course, and  SCO_2.
    2. Now, I have to publish each and every module as a ZIPPED file (with Reporting turned on) so that -- in my case -- I end up with 8 zipped files. The names of the files don't matter, but inside the SCO I kept the SCO numbers sequential.
    3. When I have all  my modules zipped up, I then open COURSE AGGREGATOR and select the option "Multi-SCO".  This will bring up its own little kind of SCO REPORTING box and asks for a SCO name again. This time, I named the course SCO_0... and give it a name.  NOW I add my zipped files one at a time, as well as the Javascripts and all that stuff that tell the LMS which order I want them to appear in the course.
4- I save & PUBLISH the mutli-SCO.. and what THAT does is create one BIG zipped file that contains all the littler zipped files, PLUS it writes a "master course" manifest and all that other stuff that instrcuts the LMS to read each SCO in order.
I may not be exactly write, but I am very close... if anybody else can chime in and correct any wrong parts here, we could figure this thing out and document it ourself... since Adobe has totally fallen down on the job.
    Good luck witih it!!!
If I am on the right track... it is the order in which the LMS reads the SCOs

  • Difference between Aggregator Project / Multi SCo packager / multi captivate projects with links...

Now I have to admit I am a little lost between the possibilities of captivate 8...
What differences exactly between these developements:
    Aggregator project?
    Multi sco packager?
or create a single file with mutliple Captivate projects all linked through the Action : "open the project or URL"....?
If I need only a single SCO on one unique completed course, should I use the project aggregator ?
but would the projects sizes be a problem? and explain why to use the Action : "link to project"..rather than the aggregator?
basically I wish one single file with all the courses accessible from one screen / (project?)
reports only on the course followed, resume on the course, back to the course Menu language selection .....
thanks for any help....the more i read the more i am lost... ;(

    Thank you for this details.
It seems then that none of this two, aggregator or packager, can be 'twisted' to be used in the Menu selection I need.
    Aggregator project?
A way to link several Captivate output files through a common menu created by the aggregator.
    >Does using the aggregator mean there are still several / each output files to be uploaded in the LMS separately?
Are you publishing to swf only?
    >I publish for the LMS plateform, swf, html, but also for IPads! Would it make a difference?
"You could also have your manifest point to a language selection page which would then launch the applicable Captivate files."
    >Is there a good video tutorial that would show how to link and publish captivate projects together? I have created a Cp menu page with buttons that would link to each cp (language) files but I am not sure I do it properly...
I need to be sure what to enter in the Actions/Link to file or link to URL field...and to follow the right step to publish and copy paste the files in the same (callees...) folder...
    Many thanks for your help!

  • Can the multi-sco packager be used to package Muse projects for LMS?

We are currently experimenting with Muse, and we are interested in the posibility of using Muse to develop eLearning courses. Is there any way that Muse projects can be packaged into a zip file that can be loaded into an LMS? Perhaphs using Captivate's multi-sco packager?

Captivate's Multi-SCORM Packager is purely for Captivate content and it usually has to be created by a specific version of Captivate to be compatible with a specific version of the packager app.  So, the answer is most likely to be no.

  • Packaging Multi-SCO Captivate Projects - query

    Hi
We are considering upgrading to the eLearning Suite so that we can use the Multi-SCO Packager.  For the timebeing I am tried using a free software called Relead Editor.  With this, when a learner clicks out of the course early, the next file automatically opens.  I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if the software just isn't seeing the multi-SCOs as one course.
If anyone has used this eLearning Suite Extension, then I would really like to hear from you.  Any advice to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Captivate 6 now uses Rustici SCORM drivers and the output is much superior to all previous versions of Cp with regard to LMS integration.  Are you manually editing the files in order to create multi-SCORM packages?  If so, am I correct in assuming that you bought Cp as a standalone app and do not have the Adobe E-learning Suite with the Multi-SCORM Packager tool?

  • Multi-SCO Packager is not included in Adobe Captivate 6?

I justed downloaded Adobe Captivate 6, and installed it as a trial. I didn't find the Multi-SCO Packager. So it was still not included in Adobe Captivate 6?

Passing no judgement on whether this alignment was a good idea or not...do then consider the eLearning Suite for your next upgrade if the packager is indeed important. HOWEVER, be sure it is - it's a nice tool for easing the upload of many lessons into the LMS...but it does NOT automate Sequencing, which is the somewhat automatic transition between lessons based, as far as I know. It's simply a tool for bundling several separate SCORM packages into one .zip. For instance, in our LMS, uploading a SCORM package made with the Multi-SCO Packager saves time, but results in several separate lessons that have to be individually launched from the LMS anyway...
So you may not be missing out on much
NOW, having the Aggregator suppor Sequencing, THAT would be cool!

  • Multi SCO modules not playing automatically...

    Hi,
I have created a multi-SCO using Aggregator. However the modules are not playing automatically. When the first module is over, the LMS goes to the second module automatically however throws a "HTTP Status 404-404 (NOT FOUND)" error screen. However when I click the second module on the TOC, it plays. How do I get all the modules to play automatically one after another?
Please help. Please reply to my email address below.

  • Multi-Sco Package Freezes at End of First SCO

    Greetings!
I have created a simple 3-SCO 2004-manifest Multi-SCO package for upload to our LMS.
    SCO1 - Pre-Test
    SCO2 - Video
    SCO3 - Post-Test
My problem is that no matter what I try, the playback freezes at the end of the first SCO and will not proceed to the second one.
Our LMS is Interactyx (which I gather is loosely based on Moodle).
On a lark, I also created a 1.2 manifest version, and it too failed to proceed from one SCO to the next.
In the "At End" options, I have tried forcing it to call the next SCO directly (link and by file name), and I have tried the "Stop" option, and I have tried the "Close" option and I have tried the "Continue" option.
Uploaded separately, each SCO works perfectly - I only have trouble w/ it going from one SCO to the next. I've called Adobe tech support and they've watched it do this via screen sharing and are working on it - but I hoped someone here might have a quick solution.
Does anyone have any tips/tricks/technomagic that will fix this for us?

I am having this exact problem with my MultiSCO. We have several modules set to close after playing. All of the SCOs open one after another perfectly, except that first one. The designer programmed a button on the last slide to open up the next movie in the sequence and it worked. Not as nicely as the other SCOs, but it did work. I know this is way to late to help you, but maybe it will help the next person!

  • Multi camera project, Online/Offline. Major issues reconnect/re-digitize

Ok gang I got brain bender.
3 camera show, Multi camera project shot Digi-beta. Brought the tapes (3@90min) in low res (dv50) and now I need up-res the files or as apple would call it “online/offline”
According to the book this can be done a few diffrent ways. I have explored these ways and I’m failing...very very badly.
    Attempt #1.
    - took time line into media manager made the sequence “offline” save the project to new folder in drive with new settings (10-bit). All looks good till you try to recapture at 10-bit. Clip names get changes and numerical extensions apple put on during “make new clip” don’t match. In short I have a show that wont go. FCP wants to digitize everything
    Attempt #2
    - took time line into media manager made the sequence “offline” Selected the clips batches of clips and then re-digitaized. Again clips don’t match and FCP wants to digitize everything.
This is where I need your help. What can I do to make this process work? Below are my next moves...but before I spend another 18 hours in a bay I want to make sure I get some other input.
    Option 1)
Encode all the tapes in 10-bit, Try to reconnect. I would like to stay away from this because the space needed for 10-bit is out of this world and I do have other projects. Again I’m looking for that secret 1,2,3 to making clips only re-digitizing.
    Option 2)
try some other method I haven't tried yet. ( this is the one I’m hoping for)
Thanks for your time an I hope it hear from you ASAP as I’m dying over here. Multi-clip with online/offline it’s exactly in the index in the FCP user guide. If any one has some posting or web pages I could book make for future that would be a big help.
Thank you all for your time in advance
    Jeff

I must playback in Premiere the 4 video streams in real time
Good luck with that.  Many folks have trouble with even one stream.
edit those offline low res copies to get my edit decision list
I'm not sure offline editing with AVCHD will be possible because of the folder structure.  You may not be able to 'replace' the lower res copies with AVCHD.
My output format is Flash F4V 640x360 px square pixels for Internet playback.
Oh, man.  Shooting HD of any flavor is just overkill that adds unnecessary work to the process.  Have your client shoot in DV.

  • Key Press to Play Video, in multi-screen project

I have a timeline with multiple videos in it, all loaded as external videos with playback controls as the audio is important (all are 55 seconds long and high quality audio is vital). First of all I want a specific key pressed to play one of the videos. I've been playing around with event handlers, key press event, but nothing has worked.
This is a multi screen project I'm working on so is there any way to have two seperate windows of video 1080x1920 (that would play on two seperate screens to interact with eachother) or would I have to create a stage twice the width. I need two video clips to play simultaniously once a key is pressed.
I am a real beginner to flash so I really have no idea whether this is possible.
I'm doing this on Flash CS6 on a Mac in IOS 10.9.2
    Thanks!

i'm not sure what you're trying to do with multiple screens but that should have no impact on using key listeners to control your timeline:
    stage.addEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN,f):
    function f(e:KeyboardEvent):void{
    trace(e.keyCode);

  • Multi-cam project crashing in FCP

    Hi,
I'm cutting a multi-cam project and the system I'm cutting on keeps crashing - and it appears to be crashing just after the auto save.
The project is a five camera shoot, all on XDCam EX3 35mbs 1080 / 25p (ingested into FCP, native clips are then combined into a multiclip & put into an HD Pro Res timeline - the Apple Pre-set: Apple ProRes 422(HQ) 1920x1080 50i version).
The system I'm working on is an 8 Core (2x2.8ghz quad core intel) with 16gb RAMM, OSX 10.5.8 (this isn't my own system)
The actual FCP project is still pretty small (currently only 24mb), although this will be increasing (I'm cutting 10x1 hour shows).
The system appears to hang up just after doing an autosave (I say this because the time stamps on the most recent autosave are usually within a minute or two of the crash). I get the spinning ball of death, and then the system crashes (although not always, it tends to crash about 40% of the time when the spinning ball of death appears).
I'm running the system fairly minimally: I've reduced the number of audio tracks playing in real time to 2, and the audio playback quality to Low (it's stand up comedy). I am running with the waveform showing on one audio track (I've crushed the other tracks so it's not showing - although I don't know if this means the audio waveform isn't being calculated for those tracks). I've only got one track of audio actually playing.
I've reduced the playback quality & frame rate to dynamic, but I am running 5 streams of EX3 35mbs vision through the multicam playback window, in a pro res sequence (1920x180).
I've already deleted the FCP preferences & zapped the P-RAMM a couple of times.
Any ideas on how I can reduce the crashes?
    Thanks!

    Thanks Shane & Tony,
I'll try that, fortunately we've only shot & ingested the first few shows, so we can still fit the transcoding process into our workflow. (I had heard this suggested prior to starting the edit, but wanted to avoid it if possible because of the extra work involved).
BTW, my method for transcoding the media to Pro Res for the two sequences that I've already edited, would be to identify the transcoded EX3 QT files that have been ingested (at desktop level), take these QT files into compressor, apply & run the standard apple Pro Res template, and then re-link the clips in FCP to the new transcoded media files (which would have identical names, but be the transcoded Pro Res Version). Then re-link the sequence.
Obviously, for the shows that I haven't cut yet, I'd just ingest, & then transcode the media, & re-import the transcoded Pro Res media ready for editing.
Do you have a better way of transcoding the EX3 files to re-link to the edited sequence?
    Thanks!
    Andrew

  • Multi SCO 6 not downloading in eLearning Suite 6?

I downloaded and installed eLearning Suite 6 which includes Multi SCO packager 6 today on my MacBook.  I cannot find where it installed Multi SCO 6 anywhere.  It shows everything else and I need Multi SCO 6.  That was one of the reasons I needed to upgrade from eLearning Ste 2.5.  Can anyone help me understand why I can't see it in my Applications?
    Thanks

In Captivate, look under the File > New... Menu items.
You should see one there that mentions Multi SCO.

  • SCORM 2004 version required by Multi Sco Packager 6?

Does anyone know which version of SCORM 2004 is required by the Multi Sco Packager?   I have a SCORM .ZIP file packaged for 2004 v2.3 and the MSP is telling me that the SCORM version is "incompatible."  Thanks!    Laura

    Hi there,
    Welcome to Adobe Community.
If you are getting that error then try changing the Scorm 2004 version to 3rd edition under the manifest.
    Thanks!

  • Captivate - Multi SCO Packager does not open

eLearning 6.1 was installed on several machines, but neither one could get SCORM to work. From Start > All Programs > Adobe eLearning Suite 6.1 > Multi SCO Packager, it opened a gray empty window. Same problem if I opened from Captivate File > New Porject > Multi SCO Packager. I installed Captivate 6 and Captivate 7 on different machines, I still got the same issue. eLearning6.1/Captivate had the latest updates as well as Windows 7 64-bit SP1.
How to fix this? Please help.

Thanks RodWard, here is a screenshot. The Adobe menu shows the content, but the New Course and Publish Course are inactive.
