Agilent 34970 with Dasylab

Hi
Does anyone Know Is it possible for me to use the Agilent 34972A with Dasylab 12. I have connected the device to max and installed the IVI drivers and everything seems to be connected ok (VIA LAN CABLE) However when i try to use the IviDmm+ module in Dasylab 12  i get the error.
IVI API Function IviDmm_ConfigureMeasurement return with error -1074135023.
Iam new to MAX and was wondering do you need to set up a channel list in max and if so how do i do this?

  • Voltage come back incorrectly Agilent 34970 advanced scan.vi

    Hello,
I am using an Agilent 34970 wich is connected with serial port to computer and performing voltage measurements  for 16 channel using an Agilent 34902A  16-Channel Multiplexer (2/4-wire) Module
When using Datalogger voltage reading of the 16 signal are correct
When using Agilent 34970 advanced scan.vi we can take a voltage reading with the instrument's front panel but it always come back incorrect for the three first channel despite the number of channels tested : (exemple  for 260 V we acquire 272V even the signal is accurate the 13 other signal are correct)
we checked the signal manually and they are accurate
when performing auto delay for Agilent 34970 the measurements  are correct but it take too much time , when putting manual delay the problem is still appearing even a delay of 1s for each channel .
Is there any solution to reuduce the delay ( about 0.2s for each channel ) and to have correcte Voltage
    Thanks

    Hi Vin_sagem,
Good afternoon and I hope your well today.
Is this VI/LabVIEW code your using provide by Agilent or have you writen it yourself using a programmers guide to the instrument?
If Agilent have written it for you/provide it for their customers I would advise you contact them through your support. Otherwise, I would ask if you could post the trouble example code (Not your whole application) that clearly shows the issue your having. Thus, the community can try to identify any problem areas.
I hope this post finds you well,

I am looking for a basic interface for an agilent 34970 unit that will provide me with a starting point to write the rest of the program.

Go to Tools>Instrumentation>Find Instrument Drivers and search for 34970.
The main page is the Instrument Driver Network where you can also start the search and find information on what a driver is and how to use one.

  • NI PCI 6731 with DASYLab

    Hello Dasylabers,
I use a NI PCI 6731 to do waveform generation with DASYLab 11, which works
    correctly.
But this card is able to
have an external reference signal (AO EXT REF) for the digital to analog
    converter.
    How is it possible to
active this function for each converter (there is 4) in MAX or

    Hello Mathias,
I've tried to modify with Labview a MAX task and save it. I have this result:
    Not modified MAX task:
Task modified with Labview and saved in MAX:
It seems to work, but I have not the hardware to test the result in Dasylab. I use simulated hardware.
Sure that this possibility should be add in MAX task configurator, so Dasylab could use all the hardware functions!
How can I contact NI-DAQmx developers?
Where are the ressources for NI-DAQmx API functions?

  • Problems with dasylab

i need to calculate the output of a quarter bridge using strain gage,i can just read the output values directly from the bridge using a voltimeter but with dasylab i get a lot of values and i can see no changes when im bending the beam(the SG is sticked on it).the amplifier is configured with 5v input and a gain of 100,how can i configure dasylab to see the same results as with a voltimeter(0v when there is no bending and ?v when i aply a force)
    Thanks

I thank you for your help,Im making my thesis in a company and we are using the full version of dasylab,so there is no problem with the software, but i´ve found the problem.it was a really stupid mistake.our measurement box it´s configured with 3 board card that use an other student for his thesis(every card with 4 channels) and now we´ve just instaled a new card also with 4 channels for my thesis prupose(measurement with Strain gage) the problem was in the numbre of channel that i used,i used always the channel number(0),and i must used the channel number(12),because there is 16 channels in total from(0,1,....15) so the first channel of my board card is the channel(12).
So I made my pretest with a SG sticked in a beam(claculate the elongation when its bending) and the results were really closer to the theoritical calculation,i was really happy, but the real target of my thesis is to calculate the strain in the stabiliser of a car,and it´s with a biaxial SG applying a torsional force.
the pretest was static but with the stabiliser we will have a dynamic test using cylinders to give the torsional force to the stabiliser,so then i have to take care about the frequency and a lots of others factors.
So i hope that i can solve the problems that maybe occurs during my test next weeks,i thank you once again and if i have some other questions i will contact you.
    Best regards

  • How do I control a servo-valve to open and close with Dasylab?

I am currently using a servo-valve to run an endurance test and would like to control it to open a close  at a set frequency rate and set pressure rate (6000psi). Is there a controller that I can use to do that?  I am using Dasylab with a NI Daq board and I get the pressure and flow readings from the analog to digital signals correctly but to actually control a servo which is powered with and external power supply to provide 25VDC.

It would be unwise to use DASYLAb to close a loop on a servovalve.
The best way to do that would be to buy a analog PID controller board, MOOG and Parker sells those, and use an anaqlog output from the NI card to controll it.
We did many tests using this way.
There are also other option like servo-controllers that could perform many tasks, like FG, conditioning, limits, and profiles and then use DASYLAb for Data acquisition.
The price for this solution would be of course higher.

  • PICe-6259 with DasyLAB 9 - How to do Analog Output

    Hi,
I'm trying to get a small project working in DasyLAB 9.0.2 and I need some serious help.
I'm working with a PCIe-6259 and NiDAQmx 8 is installed.  I simply want to create a program that uses a slider to adjust the analog output on 4 channels and read the slider value on a meter.  This is a fresh installation of DasyLAB.
Here's the program that I setup and the errors that I get.
    I select:  Modules -> Input/Output -> NIDAQ -> Analog Output.
I adjust the properties of the DAC module to include channels 0,1,2,3 and select OK.  (I don't adjust any of the other properties)
I then select: Modules -> Control -> Slider
I adjust the properties of the slider to include the same channels as above.
I then select: Modules -> Display -> Analog Meter
I adjust the properties of the meter to include the same channes.
The meters and Analog output are wired in parallel.
    I get the following errors:
    NI-DAQmx: Error Message
    Driver: Task DA00, Version: 0.15
    Possibly Reason:
-> The module can process the number of "values to be written".
    File: ProcessData_KONTINUIERLICH.H, Line: 39
When I press OK I get:
    NI-DAQmx: Error Message
    Driver: Task DA00, Version: 0.15
    Possibly Reason:
-> The driver does not use all NI-DAQmx task channel names. This is not valid, reconfigure the module to use all task channels.
Note: A NI-DAQmx task for analog / digital / frequency output must not have more than 16 channels. If you need more than 16 channels for the output, you must use more NI-DAQmx tasks.
    File: MODUL_DA.C, Line: 2131
Any help to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
The next part of my program will include acquiring data from the analog channels, but I need to get the AO working first.  I've run into some issues with Analog Input as well, but I thought I should start with AO first.
    Thanks in advance!
    Chris

Here's what I did using the NI-DAQmx simulation mode:
        - create two tasks
Analog Output - 4 channels, 1k output rate, 100 samples to write, Continuous
Analog Input - 4 channels, 1k input rate, 100 samples to read, Continuous
Save them. Start up or synchronize DASYLab (Under Measurement Boards Settings - NI-DAQmx - Synchronize with... in earlier versions, it's under Hardware Setup)
        - Create Slider. Open Slider properties, click on Options, Synchronize to the AO task that you created. This step is really important - it ensures that the data rate matches what NI-DAQmx is expecting.
        - Connect Slider to NI-DAQmx AO module, configured for 4 channels.
        - Create AI module. Connect to the AI task that you created.
Press Start. It should run. I can't verify absolute accuracy in simulation mode, but, I received no errors.
Your first error is probably the result of the timing being wrong - the Slider defaults to the "Driver" timebase. The rest of the errors seem to be a cascade off the first.
Note - my simulation did not work without the Analog Input. It generated no data. That may be an artifact of the simulator, but, once I put an Analog Input on the worksheet, it ran okay.
        I hope this helps.

  • Controlling an Agilent E4428C with Labview

    Hello All,
We have an Agilent E4428C Signal Generator, and I've downloaded the LV driver and set up the IP address on it.  I can ping it, but I can't see it in MAX.  Are there some instructions on how to set it up for use with LV?  The manual doesn't say anything about LV.
    Thanks in advance.

    Bill,
For TCP/IP Instruments you have to add them manually in MAX.  Here is Knowledge Base article that will get you up and going.
After you get the instrument identified in MAX, you can use the LabVIEW Instrument Driver that you have already downloaded.
Post back if you have any problems doing this.

  • Save waveforms with HP/Agilent 35665a with GPIB

How to save wavaforms on a portable pc using pcmcia gpib card with the hp/agilent 35665a? I'm using the 6.01 Labview version and the instrument driver from the NI developer zone.
    Thanks.

Use the Acquire Waveform function to get an array of the data points. You can then save it using the Write File VI. Use the Read File VI to read it back again.

  • An open source framework for agile development with Sites

I am happy to announce the release of a new open source framework for sites development: AgileSites 1.0.0.beta1.
AgileSites is an open source framework built using standard and documented Sites API provinding a number of features meant to simplify development, mostly to make agile development and offshoring way easier and more manageable.
    Some of the features:
    - MVC with plain Java controller and pure HTML views
    - Templating done in jQuery style (like client-side javascript templating)
    - Integrated unit testing and build system
    - Integrated csdt so everything is source and can be stored in Git or Subversion and rebuilt with jenkins in minutes
    - Hot reloading of java classes, including the url assembler - you code in java without restarting the application server
    - Single jar deployment - all your site code is in a jar that can be easily tracked and moved around
    - A simplified API layer built on top of standard tag assets making development a breeze
    - Complete and unlimited access to the full Sites API
    - Keeps the JSP structure so the framework can be added to another site using JSP
AgileSites is available in his own dedicated site: www.AgileSites.org with a video showing his capabilites.

The framework is completely following WebCenter Sites standard. It is built on top of JSP and Java using only documented API and standard Java libraries. It is not different than any other site implementation. It is basically a pre-built site to make easier applying agile development practices. It is as supported by Oracle as any other custom website implementation on top of Sites.

  • Using Agilent 82357a with Labview

Is it possible to use Agilent 82357a USB-GPIB interface board with Labview
    Linux version 7 ?

    Hi
I just installed Labview 7.1 for linux on my machine after throwing away (not literally !) the Agilent card and borrowing an NI PCI-GPIB card. This works with kernels 2.4.x (tested with /usr/local/vxipnp/linux/NIvisa/NIvisaic). However, for proper operation of my machine (have bad display and mouse problems with the old kernel)  I need kernels 2.6.x. The driver in /usr/local/nigpib complains that it cannot work with those. I tried hacking the INSTALL script but it keeps running up against differences (like the modversions.h file) between the two kernel series.
Can I use a newer version of the gpib libraries for linux with an older version of Labview like I am using ? I guess I will also need to get newer versions of the visa drivers for that. Though, the labview installation went smoothly with kernel 2.4.27-3 on my Debian system, I know that the newer versions of nigpib (is that the same as ni48825L.iso ?) and NIVISA are not supported on Debian. I cannot reinstall with a different distro, so please do not suggest that.
    Any other suggestions ?
    Thanks.

  • Pilot Agilent 33120A with Labview

    Hello,
I have to pilot a multimeter Agilent 33120 A with Labview and my problem is that I downloaded drivers here :http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.download_page?p_id_guid=E3B19B3E9066659CE034080020E748...
I tried to test one of the example given with drivers but it doesn't work, does anybody has an idea of the problem?
Do you think it could be about the interface because i'm using a RS 232 wire and I didn't see this type of interface in the suggested interfaces on the website i gave by the link.
    Thanks

I am consdiering purchasing a NI 9134 for in vehicle data logging. I would like to run it using DasyLab 13.
    Has anyone tried this?
There's never time to do it right, but there's always time to do it over!

    Devon,
I think that it's pretty reasonable to ask about NI hardware support by NI software. That's one of the goals of this board.
Will DASYLab run on a cDAQ-9134?  Has anyone done it? Can anyone who has one try it?

  • Possible sampling rates of a PCI-MIO-16E-1 with DASYLab

    Hello!
    I'm using a PCI-MIO-16E-1 DAQ. It's maximum sample rate is 1.25MS/s
    My questions:
    - What does maximum output rate of 1MS/s mean? I need 3 channels at 400kS/s.
    - What are the possible sample rates? Can I use e.g. 3 channels with 105 kS/s each?
    - If not what are the fixed sample rates of that card?
    Thanks a lot

    Hi matadler,
The E-Series boards have one DAC for each output, therefore you can use the full output rate with all output channels.
The PCI-6070 (formerly known as PCI-MIO-16E-1) has 2 analog outputs, which can be used at up to 1 MS/s. If you need more analog outputs, you need another board.
Analog inputs on the E-Series boards are multiplexed. This means you have only one ADC which is used for all analog input channels. You have to divide the maximum sampling rate by the number of channels you actually use.
For your application, this means you can use up to 416kS/s with 3 channels. There are no fixed sample rates on the board, so it's no problem to use 105kS/S.
