Agilent Intuilink Software in LabVIEW???

Hi,
I'm using a Agilent HP 8720D VNA and the Agilent software Intuilink for this instrument. I have LabVIEW 8.2 and would like to know if anyone has designed a VI to run the Intuilink software from LabVIEW? Is this possible? Any help or suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks,
Millie

It is much easier to use the drivers they provided or to write your own communication vi that takes a string control for the commands and responds if it is a query, than to use the Intuilink..  But that's my personal preference..
.... being old school that is

  • Connecting Agilent DSO3062A Oscilloscope with LabVIEW using USB

I am trying to connect Agilent DSO3062A Oscilloscope with LabVIEW using USB but the device is not recognized by MAX. I have installed the drivers for scope and it works fine with the scope software. The problem is LabVIEW dosen't recognize the scope. Please tell me the procedure of setting up the scope with LabVIEW 8.2. I am using Windows XP.

    Hi there,
I think the issue is that the DSO3062A will not be recognized by LabView as a GPIB instrument through the USB connection. If you check out the 3000 series manual (http://cp.literature.agilent.com/litweb/pdf/D3000-97016.pdf) you'll notice on page 8 it says you can't use the USB for programming, it can only be used with their scope software. You need the N2861 module installed on the back to connect via GPIB, and then a GPIB interface to your computer. I hope that helps.

  • I have developed one application software using Labview 8.5 in which i am collecting data from 5 temprature controllers on serial line.

I have developed one application software using Labview 8.5 in which i am collecting data from 5 temprature controllers on serial line.
This software is done and successfully installed on customer side.
Now the customer want this software to be run on server and some fixed number of clients should access this with some login security.
Is this fascility available with National Instruments in which i can installed this standalone application in server and allow some clients to access this with
    proper login?
    Regards,
    Vaibhav

Yes, that is possible. Multiple clients can access the VI using Web Publishing tool and control the VI operation. However, only one client has the control of the VI at one instance. The client needs to right click on the web page displaying the front panel of the running VI and ask for control and then release control after the execution to let other clients to ask for the control subsequently. The LabVIEW VI needs to be running upon the server computer since closing LabVIEW also closes the Web Publishing server and disconnects the currently connected clients.
    Please check this link http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/3797
You might want to create a stand alone executable for the same and then publish it over the internet for access by your desired clients. In that case, check this link http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/3A0087DBE9D31F9286256B19000A2DAE?OpenDocument

  • Agilent 33250 vi for labview 6.1

Hi i need agilent 33250a vi for labview 6.1

There is an instrument driver on the Instrument Driver Network but it will support LV7.0. Since the driver is supported by NI you can make a request through support to let them convert it for you to LV 6.1

  • Piloter Agilent 33120 A depuis Labview

    Hello,
I have to pilot a multimeter Agilent 33120 A with Labview and my problem is that I downloaded drivers here :http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.download_page?p_id_guid=E3B19B3E9066659CE034080020E748...
I tried to test one of the example given with drivers but it doesn't work, does anybody has an idea of the problem?
Do you think it could be about the interface because i'm using a RS 232 wire and I didn't see this type of interface in the suggested interfaces on the website i gave by the link.
    Thanks

  • Can I control Unholtz-Dickie VWIN ver. 4.61 software from Labview?

Unholtz-Dickie VWIN is a Window-based application that controls a vibration system. I want to coordinate the vibration control with the acquisition of data from the unit under test.

    Hello,
I just did a quick websearch and wasn't able to find any information on getting LabVIEW to work with this VWIN software of which you speak. If this software has ActiveX capabilities, you should be able to communicate with it from LabVIEW without any problems...LabVIEW has the ability to control other programs with its ActiveX tools. If your VWIN software does not support ActiveX, however, your options are rather limited...you could use the "System Exec" VI in LabVIEW to launch the VWIN software from LabVIEW, but you would have no control over it from LabVIEW.
There are other ways of communicating between programs (DLL calls, simple ASCII text file writing, etc.), but these would not be as easy as ActiveX. You may want to contact the manufacturer of this softwar
e and ask them if they known of any of their customers attempting to control the software externally, and if so, what methods they used.
I wish you luck with your application. Also, in the future please post LabVIEW-related question in the appropriate LabVIEW forum.
    Have a pleasant day.
    Sincerely,
    Darren N.

  • Producing test software using labview ...

    Hi friends,
For those of you who produce test software using LabVIEW,
TestStand, and C/C++, what are your biggest development problems? (By
the way, this can be hardware or software.)
    George

Ravens Fan pretty much sums it up. I suppose you can add onto it being forced to deal in a specific platform due to customer requirements when you know it would be orders of magnitude easier with another platform.
Out of curiousity, what is the purpose of the question?

  • Help with reading information coming from a software into LabVIEW through Serial port

    Hi,
I am new to LabVIEW and also an amateur in using RS232 for communication. I have this software that has these icons like speed increase/decrease, elevation up/down, start/stop. Now, when I click these buttons on the software, they perform the appropriate functions. For example, if I press start button, the signal must go through a serial COM port into LabVIEW to start the machine. How do I do that? How do I find what format the code word is when I press a button on the software? And how to decode the information to read whether the button pushed is start etc...? Any help would be appreciated.

I may not be perfect, but I'm all I got!

That information would be in the programming manual for the device you're controlling. Unless you have a device that has no documentation or you cannot get the documentation that's the first place you should look. If you cannot get the documentation at all then you've got some reverse-engineering to do. To do this you will either need a serial port sniffer (a hardware device), or you can try to use a software-based port capturing program. On Windows PortMon is the most prevalent. This will show you how the port was configured (baud rate, stop bits, etc). Warning: the information is technical.
As far as how to get it running in LabVIEW, you should take a look at the serial port communication examples that ship with LabVIEW. The most problems occur in figuring out how to (a) terminate a write command, and (b) determining when to stop reading. For (a) this is typically done by appending a carriage return or linefeed to the command. This is device dependent. For (b) this is usually done by the byte stream ending with a character like a linefeed. Again, this is device-dependent.
You may also want to peruse this KB article: Serial Instrument Control Tutorial. There are also lots of tutorial on the internet for basic tutorials on serial port communication.

  • Configure Agilent E8408A mainframe in LabView

How do I configure an Agilent E8408A mainframe with Agilent E8491B IEEE-1394 VXI card and Agilent E1419 Multi-Function (Option 011) so that Labview can recognize it?

    tanonev,
You can use VISA or the instrument driver you found to communicate with your instrument. Both will work just fine. Usually Instrument drivers are created because they simplify the tasks and allow you to perform common tasks for your device. VISA will allow you to send and receive commands to you device, usually these commands can be found in the manual for your device. This tutorial may help you understand how to use VISA and instruments Drivers better.

  • Can I use a project/issue management software with LabVIEW?

    There are project/issue management softwares.
    I only know Redmine.
Can I use LabVIEW with such softwares?

I am not aware, that you can hook LabVIEW to tools like bug tracing databases in a native way.
What you can do is performing that link in a context of requirements management. Use NI Requirements Gateway for this functionality.

  • How to link third party software with labview program ?

    I have designed a labview
    program to analyse and make
    graph and save the datas
    from the photon counter using
ni USB DAQ 6008. And the
    photon counter is controlled
by the third party software with
    itself. both programs are
    executing successfully. But
my task is run both the
program at the same time. i.e.
    link the third party software
    with my labview program.
    How to i do this?

Your question is too vague since you give no information as to this third party application. Is it an application you wrote? Is it an application that you cannot change? Does it have a programming interface? Can you eliminate this third-party application and control the photon counter yourself? Have you tried to do a search, as this question has come up before many times. For example:

Is it possible to invoke debugger from LabVIEW and work on specific text boxes in the debugger.
Details : APIs or DLLs related to debugger are not exposed to outside world.
I am using teststand3.1 software as manangement tool.
    AXD debugger runs on Windows.
Is any body come across similar type of issue ?,,Please suggest me the way to wokr on it.
