AI Read sync'd to DAQCard-AI-16E-4 generated clock signal.

I need to read multiple (3) analog input channels on a DAQCard-AI-16E-4.
The device I am connecting to needs receive a clock signal to indicate that
it should generate output. I want to send a signal and then read the three
channels and then send the next signal. I will implement this in a loop so
that I can read until a specified count of inputs has been received or until
the user hits a stop button.
Should I focus on using the SCANCLK, FREQ_OUT or simply use a digital out to
output my clock?
Which functions will I need to call in VB to do what I want? If someone
could just list a command set that would do what I want it would really help
point me in the right direction.

What sort of frequency do you want your loop to run at?
How quickly after the trigger pulse do you want to read the outputs, are the outputs transients or steady state readings?
Do you want to do this using the NI-DAQ API or the NI ComponentWorks ActiveX controls?

Connecting Counter hardware to DAQCard-AI-16E-4

I am dealing with a pulse train signal produced by our hardware with varying period, and am looking to obtain the time between each lo-hi transition.
I have looked at the Count Time - Easy (DAQ-STC).vi within Labview 6 and this seems to give me what i want (the time between the events).
My question is how do i connect my hardware to my DAQCard-AI-16E-4 via the SCB-68?
This is my first time trying to work with counter/timers etc.
Any info appreciated and also other solutions to the problem that i may be overlooking.

The SCB-68 should have shipped with a big sticker designed to fit under the top cover. Apply the sticker. Now if you look, you should see where the counter-timer connections need to be made on the screw terminals. Consult the DAQ documentation that should have been installed from your NI-DAQ CD for the definitions of the vairous pins. Make sure you only connect TTL (0-5 V) signal levels to the counter-timers. They can be damaged more easily than the analog input channels, or so I've seen.

Device is not responding to the selected base address-DAQCard-AI-16E-4

Configuration: WinXP, Labview express 7 evaluation, & DAQCard-AI-16E-4
Driver installed : TDAQ741
Without the PCMCIA card in my laptop, I have installed my Labview and then the driver TDAQ741. When I opened the Measurement & Automation Explorer and tried the Test Panel, I'm getting "The device is not responding to the selected base address."
Can anyone tell me how do I fix this problem?

We have the 'DAQCard-AI-16E-4' with PSHR 68 68 cable and a scb-68 connector block to connect the signals to this daq card. and also NI-DAQ software.

This DAQCard has 16 AI channels, 8 DIO lines and 2 counters. These can be located in the diagram for the PCMCIA end (DAQCard-AI-16E-4) as well as the SCB-68 connector end, alongwith GND lines.

Number of samples read is not equal to number of AI Sample Clock pulses - why?

Dear Community,
I am using several PXI-4472s for acquisition and at the same time I am routing the AI Sample Clock signal to a PXI-6608 counter/timer card so that I can time stamp each sample.
Unfortunately I am finding that I always get more AI Sample Clock pulses than samples, so I don't know which time stamp corresponds to which sample. Why is that?
For acquisition I am using something very much like the following DAQmx Sync and Stream example:

After stopping the tasks, I use DAQmx Read vi again to read whatever samples might be left in the buffer, but that request always comes back empty. I can't figure out if there are AI Sample Clock pulses at the beginning of the task that don't actually acquire any data, or if I have data left over in the buffer after I stop the task that I am not reading properly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

DSA boards (like the 4472) differ from standard DAQ devices. While most DAQ devices use a relatively common type of ADC known as a sequential approximation ADC, a DSA device uses a more specialized ADC known as a Delta-Sigma ADC for its measurements. Delta-Sigma ADCs allow for very precise measurements, and this precision is accomplished by oversampling (frequently 128x or 256x the sampling rate that is being used).
The above is a very brief explanation of the DSA board's inner workings. It is discussed in more detail in the document linked below. If after reading that tutorial, you still have questions, please post back so that this forum can assist you.

Generat two signals at the same time and reading voltage

i have try to generate two signals at the same time and read voltage from another port on the board(not have to be at the same time), i have not alot of expriens in labview
and i based my code of example(http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/5197) from yours site and try to suit to my needs
now my problem is when i generat the 2 signals(that work perfect) i canot read voltage from another port on my CB-68LP
i can not find the problem and make it over i hope there is away to figer out and fix it.
i have two cards 6229, and two CB-68LP board.
labview 8.5.

The AO tasks is very important they will be synchronize ,it is very importent the two tasks will start at the same time
and after it run at synchronize mode i will need to make reading of voltage
i gust try to make simulation of machin (i give that machin AO and reading from it voltage that all)
first of all i make the two signals(synchronize signals).
and after it i will need to reading voltage.
i can make two signals synchronize together.
i can make reading voltage
but i can't make two signals synchronize together with reading voltage
it throw to me this error message.
i am looking for away to figer this out.

I get error message when trying to use Firefox Sync after upgrate to 5.0. The message reads: "Sync encounted an error while syncing: Unknown error. Sync will automatically retry this action" I am using Windows 7.0 on a stationary computer.

Simply: Firefox Sync doesn't work after upgrade to 5.0.

You can have a try, unmark the Tabs in Sync of Preferences.

Nano and Shuffle read "synced" but aren't.

Hi, all. I'm a newbie here.
I download from two playlists to my Nano (Gen. 4, 16Gb) and to my Shuffle (Gen. 3, 4 or 6 Gb), to keep the categories of music separate. Since upgrading to version 9-point-whatever, both iPods read almost immediately as "Syncing complete. You may now disconnect," without then automatically continuing to both synch and recharge, nor to give a warning on the screen not to disconnect until both are complete (about three hours, right?).
BUT when I do disconnect and check the Menu on both of them, the newest purchases/uploads that have successfully been entered, and show up listed, in my Library are NOT THERE.
Not only that: My Shuffle has successfully downloaded only about 110 of the over 200 songs: Exactly the first 110, alphabetically.
Remedies, anyone?
The problem should not be lack of memory, as my entire library is only 117_(? seventy-something) songs large, and just a little over 900 constitute the larger of the two playlists (for the Nano). I have no applications but songs running on either iPod.
So: any help out there?
Any assistance or tips would be most welcome.

Resolved the problem by reverting to previous software version.

Acrobat reader sync on Ipad

After editing a PDF and uploading it to the acrobat.com Cloud all is fine. However when editing and making amendments to the same files later, when uploading/syncing it again creates a new document in the cloud instead of giving you the option of overwriting the old file. This is standard in all cloud services like Dropbox , IOSX sync, cubby, etc.
Why is this not possible in Acrobat Reader. I end up having to delete the older duplicate files from the cloud 'from my MacBook' because for some reason I CANNOT do this from my IPad. I have to do this every time when editing the same file so I don't end up with 100 versions of the same file. Not very handy for a mobile device.
Any improvement would be appreciated.

Once you have uploaded a file to Acrobat.com, a new copy is created on your device. You will see a 'cloud' icon next to the file (in the Recents tab) indicating that this is an Acrobat.com file.
Any changes that you make in this file are automatically saved back to Acrobat.com when you close the file. You need not upload it again.
You can see the file being saved back to Acrobat.com in the 'Outbox' tab that appears when there are changes that have been made to a file that need to be sync'ed back.

Can I use APEX directly read/sync with the Oracle Tables ?

We have a Oracle Database to manage the design data.I am trying to setup a web-based front end using APEX to manage & monitor the parts ordering & logisitics.I want to drive the master data directly from the database without any export or data transfer ? Can I directly read or Link an Oracle tables from APEX application.
Also,once this is setup,I am looking for setting up some data entry fields to enter Purchasing & Logistics information.Hope I can achieve this using APEX !

Glad that I can use the existing Oracle db schema with APEX.I am not sure if there is any information as how I can connect or link my production schema to the APEX ! I was able to import .csv files & use XL data to create some test databases & play with APEX..but,I did try to go thru most of the instructions & guides to find how to use the production oracle tables,but,could not find anything particular...Please send me a link or material info.
I suppose I can then use which ever attribute or table data that is required to build the queries ! I am planning to use the production data to build the ordering & logistics application using APEX.Assume I can create new fields & columns for parts that will be ordered & capture/record the purchasing information like Purchase order numbers/Supplier Info/Target Delivery dates etc...
- Am on very tight schedules to get this application up & running ! Is there any support team or a technical support team that I can call upon if I need any help ?

I need to acquire 6 channels (voltages) on a PDA with DAQCard AI-16E-4

Hello all,
This may be an elementary task, but I can't figure it out. I recently upgraded to a PDA collection system. My first task is to collect 6 voltages, at approx. 200 HZ per channel, for about 2-3 minutes. I have noticed that in DAQmx Base I can only set up three channels per task. Can I use two tasks at the same time? Will this cause a time delay between collecting each of the 2 channel groups? Maybe there is a way to collect all 6 with one task?
Also, I would like to either dump these voltages to a file (.txt, or something that can be read in Matlab or Excel). I have not seen an example that does this, is it because it's not possible? I could also send the info via bluetooth to a laptop during the tests, but that seem like it might be complicated. any suggestions?

Thanks for the reply. Since this post I have figured a few things out. I am now collecting 6 channels and storing them in a txt file readable with Excel. So that is good.
The one thing I'm trying to confirm is that I am not losing any information due to overwriting memory. I need to acquire continuously until I hit the "stop" button, and once stop is hit I need to be sure that I have stored all acquisitions, i.e. the card buffer is empty and no data lost. I'll attach the VI that I am using. How should I set up my channels in the config utility?
As far as software, I'm using DAQmx Base 1.0 and the LabView PDA Module 7.1 to work on the VI and build it. If there is an easier way to do this task, i.e. another VI that is simpler, or a different program (you mentioned DAQ assistant) I am interested.

Set VISA read sync globally

Hi,
From an LabVIEW application that I am working on, I need to set the Visa Read to be syncrhonized. From the context help file, I learned that I can right click on the Visa Read VI icon and set the attribute. But, I want to ask if there any way to do it globally so that every VISA Read is behaving this way?

Once you have placed the vi on the block diagram and right click on it select the Synchronous I/O mode to the one you want and then select the vi and copy and paste it wherever you want it and it will have the same properties for this mode. I am not really sure you can do it programatically to all of the VISA read vi's that you have on your application.

Email deletion and read/un read syncing

Is there a way to make the messages I read or delete on my iPhone do the same in mail on my mac and the other way around? I use my iPhone to answer and read a lot of my mail but I notice it just keeps piling up in my mail app on my laptop.

DAQCard-AI-16E-4 Config Utility vs VB command set.

The National Instruments Config Utility allows me to select the mode of the
card for analog input. I can choose differential, single-ended referenced
or single-ended non-referenced. Can I set these parameters using VB
commands or does the user need to make sure the configuration is correct in
the Config Utility manually?

My touch has been reading "sync in progress" for about 12 hours. If i disconnect, the sync aborts. What should I do?

Did you try to use another computer? Windows 2000 is not supported:
PC: Windows 7; Windows Vista; or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3 or later
iTunes 10.5 or later (free download from www.itunes.com/download)

Also check the security software settings, iTunes has to contact Apple during the sync process.
