AIA Question

what does the statement "The ABCS (In AIA) supporting request / response pattern in either sync. or async. mode has four extensibility points while a fire-and-forget pattern has two extensibility points" mean?

Hi Nikhil,
An Extensibility point is a hook, expected to be used for a specific purpose. Theoratically you may invoke any webservice (and a big orchestration flow) but you need to decide if it is a wise choice for the complete end-to end design.
"If i implement requestor ABCS in ESB" - Current choice of implementation technology for ABCS is BPEL and I do not think you can have such extensibility points using ESB. Could you please confirm if it was not just typo.
It would be next to impossible to comeup with anything close to "ideal" without understanding the complete business flow and usecase. A "typical" case would be to have Requester ABCS, EBS and Provider ABCS. EBF is only used when required by the business flow.
AIA is about application agnostic Enterprise Business Services (EBS) and making use of canonical objects (EBO). I assume you meant "EBS" instead of "EFS".

Rohit

  • Question about Kurts comments discussing the seperation of AIA & CDP - Test Lab Guide: Deploying an AD CS Two-Tier PKI Hierarchy - Kurt L Hudson MSFT

    Question about the sentence in bold. What is the meaning behind this comment?
    How would you separate the role of the AIA and CDP from a CA subordinate server? I can see where I add a CES and CEP server which has those as well, but I don't completely understand his comment. Because in this second step, (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/tlg-key-based-renewal.aspx)
    he shows how to implement CES and CEP.
    This is from the guide located at: http://technet.microsoft.com/library/hh831348.aspx
    Step 3: Configure APP1 to distribute certificates and CRLs
    In the extensions of the root CA, it was stated that the CRL from the root CA would be available via http://www.contoso.com/pki. Currently, there is not a PKI virtual directory on APP1, so one must be created.
    In a production environment, you would typically separate the issuing CA role from the role of hosting the AIA and CDP.
    However, this lab combines both in order to reduce the number of resources needed to complete the lab.
    Thanks,
    James

    My concern is, they have a 2-3k base of xp systems, over this year they are migrating them to Windows 7. During this time they will also be upgrading hardware for the existing windows 7 machines. The turnover of certificates are going to be high, which
    from what I've read here, it worries me.
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/askds/archive/2009/06/24/implementing-an-ocsp-responder-part-i-introducing-ocsp.aspx
    The application then can go to those locations to download the CRL. There are, however, some potential issues with this scenario. CRLs over time can get rather large
    depending on the number of certificates issued and revoked. If CRLs grow to a large size, and many clients have to download CRLs, this can have a negative impact on network performance. More importantly, by
    default Windows clients will timeout after 15 seconds while trying to download a CRL. Additionally,
    CRLs have information about every currently valid certificate that has been revoked, which is an excessive amount of data given the fact that an application may only need the revocation status for a few certificates. So,
    aside from downloading the CRL, the application or the OS has to parse the CRL and find a match for the serial number of the certificate that has been revoked.
    With the above limitations, which mostly revolve around scalability, it is clear that there are some drawbacks to using CRLs. Hence, the introduction of Online Certificate
    Status Protocol (OCSP). OCSP reduces the overhead associated with CRLs. There are server/client components to OCSP: The OCSP responder, which is the server component, and the OCSP Client. The OCSP Responder accepts status
    requests from OCSP Clients. When the OCSP Responder receives the request from the client it then needs to determine the status of the certificate using the serial number presented by the client. First the OCSP Responder determines if it has any cached responses
    for the same request. If it does, it can then send that response to the client. If there is no cached response, the OCSP Responder then checks to see if it has the CRL issued by the CA cached locally on the OCSP. If it does, it can check the revocation status
    locally, and send a response to the client stating whether the certificate is valid or revoked. The response is signed by the OCSP Signing Certificate that is selected during installation. If the OCSP does not have the CRL cached locally, the OCSP Responder
    can retrieve the CRL from the CDP locations listed in the certificate. The OCSP Responder then can parse the CRL to determine the revocation status, and send the appropriate response to the client.

    My Question is about the basics of AIA and O2C PIP. Do we need to manually configure PIP or the installable takes care of everything ? Cos i read in implementation guide of Oracle PIP that you need to extract the integration files and then do everything manually . Like importing sif files in Siebel and Adding provided Web Services . Then running commands to create xref table. etc .. So where exactly is the role of Installable PIP file. I am confused. Please clarify.

  • AIA Deployment Questions and Answers

    Question Is it recommended to have one single Deployment Plan for all the composites, or one each for the requestor ABCS, Provider ABCS, EBS etc?
    Answer There is no particular recommendation. If you have implemented your services properly and idependently (see http://blogs.oracle.com/aia/2010/11/aia_11g_best_practices_for_dec.html), you can deploy them in any order and it does not really matter if you have one or multiple DPs as everything gets deployed.
    Question Looking at the DP that gets generated, it looks like they can be manually created, without going through the AIA LCW, BOM generation etc. I know it is not the approach suggested as per AIA flow, but is there anything wrong with doing it?
    Answer There is nothing really wrong with hand-crafting the DP except that you lose the overall stream of information from start to end in your development lifecycle. But some customers actually decided to do it this way, though.
    Question What is the significance of the /oracle/product/Middleware/AIA/aia_instances/my_instance/AIAMetaData/config/AIAConfigurationProperties.xml file? When an interface is migrated from Dev to Test, how do I make sure that this file is updated in Test instance? Is it by manually updating and running UpdateMetaData.xml? or the AID will take care of it?
    Answer This file is absolutely key at runtime as services read certain properties (e.g. the actual endpoint of the services that are called) from that file. I would assume your services will fail if you don't have a valid file on your test environment, i.e. having a section for each of your services.
    And yes, the AID takes care of maintaining it. Every service you created with Service Constructor should have a file called AIAServiceConfigurationProperies.xml. When running AID to deploy such a service, it first adjusts the values in that file to match the current environment, then merges the content into AIAConfigurationProperties.xml and finally uploads it to MDS.

    Hi,
    Based on the above, if the composite folder contains AIAServiceConfigurationProperies.xml, the AID should do the following,
    1. Adjust the values of the server and port, as long as the necessary replace token command is included in the Preinstallscript of the Deployment Plan
    2. Merge the content of the /composite/AIAServiceConfigurationProperies.xml into $AIA_INSTANCE/AIAMetaData/config/AIAConfigurationProperties.xml
    3. Upload $AIA_INSTANCE/AIAMetaData/config/AIAConfigurationProperties.xml into MDS.
    I have tried to run the Deployment Plan given below, and the above steps did not happen.
    <DeploymentPlan component="XXXX" version="3.0">

  • Question on AIA XSL Extension

    AIA recommends to provide _CUSTOM.XSL along with regular transformation xsl file for customers to add their custom transformation. It says, make a callout to the template in custom.xsl as follows
    <xsl:call-template name="SenderType_ext">
    <xsl:with-param name="currentNode" select="."/>
    </xsl:call-template>
    and in custom xsl, add the code as
    <xsl:template name="SenderType_ext">
    <xsl:param name="currentNode"/>
    <!-- Customers add tranformations here -->
    </xsl:template>
    I did this and tested to see how customers would add their extension. I have no luck.
    My problem is, the param 'currentNode' passed in from the xsl is an xml struture
    like
    <body>
    <szShippingCommodityClass>SH1</szShippingCommodityClass>
    <szBusinessUnit/>
    <szOrderRepriceCategory/>
    <szUserId>KB7479464</szUserId>
    but its treated a string content in custom xsl. How can we parse this and say, we need to retrieve the 'szUserId'? I tried couple of option.
    1. Tried to use orcl:parseEscapedXML, but it gives me an error saying "exception:start of root node expected"
    2. Tried parse it using substring..but it couldn't parse by the tag name..seems ike the string only has values...i could able to substring by say 'KB7479464'...
    So, please give me some guidance on how to parse the parm passed in thorugh <xsl-call template> and retrieve an element?
    Thanks

  • AIA Architecture question -- Cluster

    Hello Experts,
    Env ==> 2 Node Cluster
    I have installed Weblogic 10.3.6, SOA and BAM (this is on one node) in a 2 node cluster
    While installing AIA component, it is trying to use SOA cluster. Should I use that SOA manager server or is it possible to create a AIA cluster?? I mean a managed serevr for just AIA
    Thanks
    Natrajan

    AIA requires SOA managed server(s) for installation it is simply objects, services and tooling on top of SOA.

  • AIA FP 11g - Service Constructor Question

    Hi All,
    I am trying to create the Provider ABCS impl using the Service Constructor. I have defined the Solution Service Component in the AIA Project Lifecycle Workbench as BAERP Create Purchase Order List Ebiz Provider ABCS. The CreatePurchaseOrderList method of the PurchaseOrderEBS will invoke this ABCS with a list of Purchase Orders.
    To create the Service Contructor, these are the steps that I follow,
    1. Create New Project -> Business Tier -> AIA -> AIA Service Component Project
    2. Service Description: Select the Solution Service Component from the AIA Project Lifecycle Workbench
    3. Service Details: Product Code: Ebiz, Application Name: Ebiz, Application Id: EBIZ_01, Application Short Name: Ebiz, Service Operation: Create, Service Type: Provider ABCS ( Only relevant attributes are given)
    4. Service Object: WSDL: Select PurchaseOrderEBSV1.wsdl from EnterpriseBusinessServiceLibrary, Operations: CreatePurchaseOrderList
    5. Target Service Details: I am selecting the wsdl of a deployed composite, which inserts a list of Purchase Orders into a database, Operations: Process
    6. I click Finish - The ABCS as well as the BPEL process that gets created is CreatePurchaseOrderEbizProvABCSImpl, where as I was expecting it to be created as CreatePurchaseOrderListEbizProvABCSImpl.
    Did I miss something here, or should I be referring to the ABCS as CreatePurchaseOrderEbizProvABCSImpl?
    Regards,
    Anish.

    Hi,
    Check the Object Name field in Step 4 of Service Constructor. Ensure it is PurchaseOrderList, If it was jus PurchaseOrder you edit and append List to it.
    After Finish, your Prov ABCS will be named as CreatePurchaseOrderListEbizProvABCSImpl.

    Rahul

  • What's the difference between AIA 3.0 and AIA FP 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.4.0)

    Hi, experts,
    Have a question need your great help and clarification, you know we have Oracle AIA Foundation Pack 2.5 based on SOA 10.1.3.4 installation, the new release for SOA has been released on this version Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g R1 (11.1.1.4.x) Released the other day, within this version, we have a Foundation Pack 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.4.0) based on SOA11g.
    My questions are as below
    1) What's difference between AIA 3.0 and Foundation Pack 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.4.0)?
    2) We know, on the top of AIA 2.5, we have Foundation Pack 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.2.0) and Foundation Pack 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.4.0), doesn't mean that the Foundation Pack 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.4.0) has another nickname that is AIA3.0?
    3) Does anyone provide AIA 3.0 installation and implementation guide?
    Appreciated if you could provide some suggestions or comments based on above question, thanks in advance!

    Please see the answers below...
    #1 . AIA 3.0 is internal project name, AIA 11g R1 is an official release which is 11.1.1.2.0, then after two patch sets released they are 11.1.1.3.0 and 11.1.1.4.0
    #2 hope the above answered your question.
    #3 AIA 11g R1 x install and developer guides available on OTN.

    Hi Lonneke
    Thanks for responding....
    You are correct in seeing that the two services are different in name.
    However they are identical in function.
    I created the service POSyncComp in my earlier version of JDev and deployed it to my local OC4J.
    Which is launched by a PeopleSoft call using PeopleCode.
    I have now rewritten this service in my new JDev and called it POSyncCompInt and deployed to home in an SOA suite implementation.
    So whilst I test and before I roll the original service call out, I have both.
    I have duplicated the PeopleCode and tweaked the message call, so that for testing purposes, and before I drop the current working version I have both calls in my PeopleCode event.
    The original POSyncComp call still works, but the call to the 'new replacement' does not.
    Hence the log shows both calls.... with slightly different names.
    The strange thing is that the PeopleSoft LOG shows very similar code in the Request Message, but the response from the new call shows the HTML Form that I get if I run the second BPEL process from the SOA BPEL console.
    So it looks like it is addressing the URL correctly.... but it suggests that stand alone OC4J returns a different response to the SOA suite which I am using for the new version of the BPEL process.... Is this configuration ?
    It hints at the xsd file and the complex message type at entry to the BPEL process.
    I can run the new process from the SOA suite BPEL Console with no problems.
    I hope that clarifies your question about two different service names

  • AIA support for multiple brands implemented in multiple instances of Siebel

    Good Day!
    I would like to ask whether AIA has the capability to support multiple brands in terms of multiple instances of Siebel and BRM.
    I have a client wherein they have a scenario of:
    1.) To launch 4 different brands which contain multiple services and it has been decided that anything that holds customer specific data should be all in a separate instance (which would cover SIEBEL, BRM etc.)
    2.) It is also a plan to have systems which only contain transactional data (mainly transient information) to have a central deployment platform (This would typically include OSM and AIA)
    I've heard that this is possible with AIA but with heavy customization is required to be done. In case for customization, are there any white paper / documentation which talks about this?
    So to summarize, here are the key questions:
    -- Support of AIA to integrate multiple instances of Siebel, multiple instances of OBRM and single instance of OSM
    -- Does AIA PIPS (mainly O2C, AABC) support data models (account, subscription, etc.,) of different services like 2G, 3G, LTE and Enterprise
    -- Does AIA support more than 2 level hierarchies
    -- Does AIA support charge redirection within the hierarchy
    -- Does AIA PIPS support different MACD scenarios like suspend, resume, account movement within & across hierarchies especially for Enterprise Services?
    Regards,
    Jeff

    First off - Have no knowledge of ERPi - Just googled it.
    If its any help, we have multiple instances of EBS on the same box, we have seperate DWH (and ODI Work / Master Repos) environments aligned to these instances. An ODI Agent can only communicate with one ODI Work repository, hence we have Multiple Agents so we can use the EBIZ -> DWH pairs simultaneasouly.
    Maybe someone will come along and tell us how it could work differently, until then - its works for us!
