Air card usage overages and cost

My wife and I have your 10 gig wireless plan for our computer using the air card too connect. First of all it's way over priced for what we get, But even though our router is security protected from hackers we have noticed that the last few months we seem to be using a large amount of our data allotment and hence are being nailed with overages. For this being a "family" plan it sucks. We have to watch every thing we do, we cannot go watch any movies or any thing. All that I can figure is that all the embedded video like AOL has in there news ect. is eating us alive. This cannot go on with the prices you charge. God forbid that I wanted to actually watch a U tube video as it would cost me through the butt. Which your service seems to be doing now. Your going to have to change to where we can get unlimited service with out breaking the bank. I used to pay $20.00 per month and had unlimited service, this month with 2 gigs overage ran me a hundred bucks. It's just not worth it for me to use mainly Face Book and AOL and to be stiffed this badly. You are forcing me too find some thing else that isn't so costly. We are on SS and just can't afford you folks. I just want to know why the increase we seem to be having with out even doing the things we'd like to do online. I would sure in hell hate to have a family with kids use your "family" plan. I highly doubt that I'm the only person having this problem.

"Usage Details" at http://www.vzw.com/myverizon offers the ability to review your data records to see the time, date and amount of data used to help pinpoint the cause. Do you typically turn off the connection when the computer is not in use? Is the computer running operating system or anti virus updates when connected?

I am getting the message "the disc you inserted was not readable by this computer" when I plug in a verizon air card into my macbook air. It also does not show up as a device on my desktop. However, I select "ignore" and am still able to connect.

Whenever I insert my verizon air card into my MBA, I get the message "the disc you inserted was not readable by the computer", with the option to either ignore or eject. I select ignore, and am able to connect to the internet, but don't know why this happens. Also, the air card is not showing up as a peripheral on my desk top. Any ideas why this might be happening and how to fix it?

When I unplugged (power) and plugged in again to restart it, yes, I heard it spin and click. Not since then though. I assumed it went to sleep and since the computers don't recognize it they won't wake it.
If I need to replace it can the data on it be recovered?

I have an ATT USBconnect Momentum 4G air card. Ever since I installed Mountain Lion I am getting an error message that says that something is trying to modify the configuration. Is there a conflict with Mountain Lion and the ATT 4G air card? If so, is there something I can do about it? Thanks!

Please follow these directions to delete the Mail "sandbox" folder.
Back up all data.
Triple-click the line below to select it:

If you still have the problem, quit Mail again and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Post your results.
Caution: If you change any of the contents of the sandbox, but leave the folder itself in place, Mail may crash or not launch at all. Deleting the whole sandbox will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.

Air Card and Lion--

I'm having trouble using my Sierra Shockwave Wireless Air Card since installing Lion? Has anybody else had this problem? lt

I have a Verizon air card and the first time I tried to use it with Lion, I had the same issue. I noticed a new wireless signal indicator in the upper right hand status bar (just to the left of the Time Machine icon) and was able to go in that way. It works like a champ. In fact, I am using it now!

Air cards and Time capsule can it work

I currently connect to the internet via an air card specifically Sierra wireless with a usb connection. Can I make my Time capsule work with this configuration. If so how can I hook this up so that it works properly.

I have an equally complex setup with a managed switch actually but I have never seen the TC have this kind of issue.
What I do notice is you have changed the TC from defaults.. you are using a non-default IP range.
I have run across issues like this where people move things from default.
I would like you to start over.. factory reset the TC. That will set it back to default router mode.
Do the min setup on the TC..
1. Change all names from what you were using. That includes the TC name and wireless name/s
Make them short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric because that is the correct way to network. Apple default names with spaces and apostrophes are fundamentally bad.
2. With just the TC plugged into the switch.. and a single computer connected by ethernet. Power cycle the whole network.. this allows the switch to clear all the old MAC address.
3. Test on the computer just ethernet. Turn the wireless off.
The computer must use dhcp and must get an ip from the TC.
It has to get the correct Router.. ie Gateway.. I wish apple could stick with proper network terminology.
And it must get same address or valid DNS server address/es.
If it fails.. please plug ethernet directly to the TC.. bypassing the switch.
You should get the standard IP addressing and internet connection.
If not please post the screenshot from the Mac of the network preferences showing the ethernet setup.
I need to see what address it does get. I need you to make sure the ethernet is the TOP of the list. So rearrange the order of network connection. With the airport off it should just go to the top of the list.
If it appears to be working .. but a browser cannot connect, open a terminal and ping an internet address.
Ping the actual gateway address the ISP gives you and ping the ISP dns address.

It will work in Canada, but if you purchase a WiFi+Cellular model I'm not sure that the warranty would be honored in Canada. If you live it Canada, it would be better to purchase your iPad there.

Hotspot overages and d/c problems

Had the hotspot for my home since early summer last yr. The payments were supposed to be $80/month. I have yet to get a bill less than $250!!! I have called and complained since I got my 1st bill. The only answer I get is 'we looked at your bill and decided it is yours. You must pay it.' 2 months ago I suddenly got a bill for $530!!! I called immediately and was told 'we do not see anything out of the ordinary'. WHAT?!?! My bill usually fluctuated between $250-$340/month, now it nearly doubles and you don't see anything out of the ordinary??? Also, during that '$530' month my hotspot modem started messing up a LOT. It would have 3 solid white lights while working. Then, it would stop working and have 3 solid blue lights. I would have to take the device apart-remove the batt and sim card to let them sit for 1-2 hrs at a time. This would happen 3-4 times/day! So, how did my internet usage DOUBLE when I couldn't even connect as much as I normally did?!?! I received a new modem. Now as of this writing, I am 25 days into my billing cycle and my usage per the Verizon site is 8.5gig out of my 10gig allowance. So, I ask "doesn't that sound a little funny to anyone else?" I have also been getting disconnected about every 5 minutes or so for the past few weeks. Verizon says how great their service is but wants to charge you hundreds of dollars in made up overages and can't even keep you connected! I wanted to write Verizon this info in an e-mail so I could get my complaints to them in writing, as if that could possibly make a difference, but I could not find any 'email here' type of area. So, I guess I must 'air my dirty laundry' about this issue to anyone who wants to look. I am guessing that Verizon probably won't even look at this, or if they do, they won't care at all-except to email me to keep paying my 'overage' bills and maybe even to shut up. If asked by friends, I would NOT recommend this service to others!!! I am VERY unsatisfied!

There are theories out there that network problems and defective devices can account for inflated data useage. None of those theories have ever been confirmed. However, I have not heard of any cases where a technical issue has caused over 3x the allowed usage. Your scenario seems extreme even for a heavy user. While its not hard to rack up 50 Gb of data on a 4G LTE connection, I'd say its very rare that anyone ever gets that high, especially without knowing about it.
If the new device is working for you then thats great. Perhaps your old device was compromised or defective and consistently downloading content from VZW even when you were not using it. Now that you have replaced the old device we will not be able to get to the bottom of it.
Just make sure to check in on your data habits from time to time. You can always check your data usage over the phone by dialing 1(800) 922-0204 and working through the menus. When you notice the usage getting high then shutdown the hotspot and investigate to see if your data continues to go up or not.

For a MacBook, you'd be looking at a device like this one. It connect to your computer's USB port and provides access to the Internet via the cell carrier's network. Connectivity will of course depend on cellphone support in your location at the time you wish to connect.
The upcoming upgrade to the iPhone's software would allow the iPhone to be used to connect a computer to the Internet (the feature is referred to as "tethering") but AT&T has not, to my knowledge, said whether they will offer a plan for the iPhone to allow it.

Data overage and horrable customer service.

I have been charge incorrectly for the data overage on my cellular phone, I disputed the data overage on my Verizon Wireless account, the phone and wish to open an investigation.
I don’t use my cell phone to download the movies/video or music neither did I authorized anyone to use my cell phone for the high data activities. Approximately 39GB of data was used on my mobile phone during the month of October 2014. I never had such a high data usage in the past. Based on my analysis of the bill most of the usage happened during evening/night time and on weekends. We have an internet service at home. In my household we currently have my 13 years old daughter, our cat and me leaving together. In September, we temporary moved from our house to an apartment. I have left my phone unattended several times in apartments’ gym and swimming pool, it was not password protected at that time. I have installed password recently, and changed the password for the hotspots based on tech support recommendations. My daughter knows my password, however she denies using my phone hotspots for movie or music downloads. We have a regular internet service and rarely use hotspots to connect her i-pod or my computer to the internet while driving in a car, to browse an internet. However, I often left my hotspots on, unintentionally. I suspect that somebody in the apartment building was using my mobile phone hotspots to get to the internet.
In addition, I did not receive any communications from Verizon informing me about my data overage. In the past, I always had notifications from Verizon about the data/minutes usage on my account. If I were to get a notification about high data usage, I would start an investigation immediately to find out the source of data leakage and certainly change my plan meanwhile to a higher data limit.
The only notification   I received this time, was an email from Verizon on November 3, 2014, stating that my account balance was $3123. I called Verizon Wireless the morning of November 4, 2014. I was told by a Verizon representative that I have a data overage, and was advised to change my data plan to prevent additional charges. I upgraded my account to 30 GB/month plan. I inquired about the possible cause of the high data usage, and was told by Verizon representative,   that the data was used through my hotspots.
In addition, I was informed that, Verizon has been sending e-mail messages to me beginning October 15, 2014. As I stated earlier, I received no communications from Verizon prior to November 3, 2014 warning me about data overage.
In the past 2 days, I spent over 10 hours talking to Verizon customer support, technical support and fraud departments trying to understand how so much data was used through my phone. I also went to Verizon store in Downingtown, PA in attempt to solve this problem. I shown my e-mail communications to the store manager and explained the situation. I was treated very professionally but was told to call customer service. While on the phone with Verizon, I have been bounced around from one representative to another, put on hold for hours, lost during the transfer several times, given wrong, inconsistent or contradictory information on multiple occasions. Each Verizon representative would give me different information on why I did not receive warnings from Verizon on my data usage or in contrary for example, that Verizon sent me 150 warning messages starting October 15, 2014. However I did not get any resolution to my problem even when I asked to speak to the managers.
I have been a loyal Verizon customer for over 18 years.    I feel now that Verizon did not protect me as a customer from the fraudulent activities and failed to inform me about my data usage prior to billing me the exuberant charges. I feel that the Verizon representatives are lacking training and conducting bad business practices by providing inconsistent information and bouncing customers around from one department to another.   I don’t know if I can trust my business to Verizon in the future.
I strongly believe that I should be fully credited for the data overage I did not use. I would like Verizon Corporate to improve on their current business practices to improve customer satisfaction.
I wish Verizon corporate representative to contact me via phone call and in writing to resolve these issues.

I had the same problem with my old iphone 4. The hotspot, even when used sparingly, will use OUTRAGEOUS amounts of data. The only reason I got my overages credited was because shortly after turning the hotspot off my antenna started to malfunction and would not connect to wifi at all and just sucked up data. Best of luck to you, my suggestion is to report to the BBB and go from there.

PO to accept multiple GL codes and cost codes

PO to accept multiple GL codes and cost codes. Since the system POs are not accepting more than one GL code and Cost code, this functionality is not being used for some of the service providers like Car Hire, Air ticket vendors, Stationery vendors, Utility vendors.
Is there anything to releated to field selection ?
is there anyway to upload the excel file in case if I have more than 1 G/L and cost center during PO creation

Yes the setting will let you use multiple account assignments.
If you need to upload alot of PO's in this way then the best way is to use the BAPI - BAPI_PO_CREATE1.
This will help you in craeting any number of line items witha nay number of account assignments.
LSMW and BDC will not be able to control the table structures being used.
Please take help of ABAPEer in bulding the program using the BAPI.

Connect AirPort Extreme Base Station to air card

How do you connect AirPort Extreme Base Station to Verizon Air Card?

Sorry, but the Air Card cannot be used with the USB port on the AirPort Extreme because that port will only work with a hard drive and/or a printer.
Suggest that you check with Verizon to see if they have an adapter or wireless router for the Air Card that will provide an Ethernet signal to the AirPort Extreme.

I'm very new for sales BOM and have one questions.
We have material A and B (purchased from vendor).
They will be assembled by 3PL company as C.
Then we will sell C to the our customer.
I want to set price/cost at the header item level.
because we will sell material B free of charge.
I've set C like below
1. Item category group. : ERLA
   Item category : TAQ
   Setting of A and B
    Item category group. : NORM
   Item category : TAE
2. Then make BOM in tcode CS01 with C
    Material : C
    Plant: XXXX
    BOM Usage :5
    subitem : A, B
    Item category : N(Non-stock item)
After then I tried to make a sales order
with material C.
I can get sub-items(A,B) successfully
however system said there is no atp stock for C.
How can I get stock of C from stock of A and B?
And How can I set the cost of C with value of A+B?
And How can I set the condition of C to calculate cost of C in header level?
or can I set like
price is determined in header level and cost is calculated in item level?
Or please recommend nicer solution.

Hi Azam,
It seems to me that you want to use Delivery Group for Sales BOM where If Mat A = Mat B + Mat C and Mat B Availability date is 20/07/2014 (DD/MM/YYYY) and Mat C availability is 25/07/2014 then Main line item should be confirmed with 25/07/2014.
If any one sub Item is not available, then Any of the item from the Grouping should not be dispatched.
If this is the requirement then, In Item Category (VOV7) for main Item update Create Delivery Group field with X and your requirement will be fulfilled.
Do let us know the result after testing.

BM VPN causing dial-up connections to disappear - Air Card

I'm having an issue with BM VPN. I have an end user on an XP laptop who needs to connect via BM VPN using his Verizon Wireless Broadband Air Card. The Broadband Cards are always listed under Dial-Up Connections in Network Connections, but after installing BM VPN, the dial-up connections are no longer there and if I try to manually create a connection, it is greyed out. Also, to no avail, the following services in XP are not turned on and for the life of me I cannot get them to start:

From what I've read, these services must be on in order to create a new dial-up connection. The Broadband card refuses to connect due to the fact that a dial-up connection cannot be created. The Broadband card and software were installed and working before BM VPN was installed. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling BM VPN, but that didn't fix the problem.
Also, if I look under the Novell Client properties, Location Profiles Tab, VPN, Properties, Properties again, and finally the VPN Dial-Up tab, there is a message that says "A VPN dial-up initialization has occurred. Microsoft Dial-Up Networking is not installed." I don't know if this means anything or is related to the problem, but I thought I'd relay this information as well. I looked for ways to reinstall the Microsoft Dial-Up Networking, but all articles refer to Windows 95 or 98 installations. I've also reinstalled Windows XP SP3 successfully, but it didn't fix the problem.
Has anyone else ever ran into a problem like this and can help me? I'm so lost and desperate for help. Thanks.

I'm not sure how to recover on the system that is currently broken -
though I suspect some form of remove/reinstall MS components should get
you back running again.
When you install the VPN client, and you select the dial-up option, it
basically tries to integrate the MS dial up networking system into VPN
menus. I don't think it really invents anything new there. If there
is something non-standard on the dial-up entries, it may be that the
VPN installation doesn't handle it properly. I don't know, because
I've not installed that component or used it in years.
What I would recommend is to not install the dial-up component on with
the VPN client. Just leave it off, make a usual dial-up connection,
and then launch the VPN client. The VPN dial-up component just
tries to manage all of that so you do it with less button clicks.

There used to be some wifi routers around with a USB port made just for these USB wireless sticks to create a personal hotspot. I don't think they really caught on since they are pretty tough to find by searching the net. I believe they need to be made specifically for this function, routers with USB ports for printers and hard drives do not work. Your other option is to plug it into a computer and create an "ad-hoc" wifi network with the computer.
