Solution: The resulting variable is just an air.File, and
nativePath is accessible, as I expected. It just did nothing the
first few times I tried it.

Try this:
SPPlatformFileSpecification spec;
// do sADMBasic->StandardGetDirectoryDialog()
ai::FilePath path;
sAIFilePath->SetFromSPFileSpec(spec, path);
Then talk to path to get your location. Hopefully that does the job. I've never used StandardGetDirectoryDialog() though, so for all I know its broken.

Hi BExperts,
I would your help about this problem on BI 7 :
At the opening of the query, user selects a month (for example 03.2007).
From this month, i have to indicate key figures on the selected month (03.2007) and key figures on the corresponding year (here 2007).
I'm using a variable in order to get the selected month (0I_CMNTH).
I don't know how to get the corresponding year (with a variable) ?
For example : user selects "03.2007", in the query i would have :

         I am not sure about the one you mentioned but this is another way which you can try by creating the customer exit variable V_YEAR under 0calyear characteristic and add the following code for gettting the previous year.
data: year(4) type n,
         year1(4) type n.

How can i get input from user in Workflows

Hello professionals,
I'm new to SAP B1 Workflow, i have created some workflows and they all worked fine.
But, I am wondering, How can i get input from user?. For example, i want to display list of options to choose between them and route the workflow based on the selected option. I don't want to use the exclusive gateway and check for some conditions, i want to get input from user.
How can i do that?

Variable used in FOx formula should get value from user

Hi Gurus,
In my fox formula I want to multiply a keyfigure (say quantity) with a factor. For example if the factor is 10 then all records should get multiplied by 10.
But the requirement is user shpuld be able to give the factor that should be multiplied. That is the l_factor used in the fox function should be a variable which gets value from user. I know we can give variables in filter and planning functions in IP. But can we give values in Fox formula.
I would really appreciate the time and effort.

I think you have create a dummy character info-object(Z_Number) of same data type interget number.Create variable for Z_Number and restrict in filter(ZV_NUM).
DATA Z_MAT TYPE 0Material.
DATA Z_NUM TYPE Z_NUMBER.
DATA Z_NUM_READ TYPE I.(Declate same as data type for Z_Number)
Z_NUM = VARV(ZV_NUM).
FORACH Z_MAT.
Z_NUM_READ = Z_NUM.
{Z_KF1,Z_MAT} = Z_NUM_READ * {Z_KF1,Z_MAT}.
ENDFOR.

What is the best way to get PATHS from one Photoshop psd file to another?

Hi! New on the site, and I signed up specifically to ask the best way to import one .psd file into another, including the paths on the paths palette.
Almost all of my Photoshop drawings make heavy use of vector paths, which I then stroke using using PS natural-media brushes and the "stroke paths" function (usually with "simulate pressure" checked.) Also, my .psd files tend to be, um, HUGE... and I typically break up a whole drawing into separate PS files and then assemble all of them into one final finished graphic.
I have no trouble moving raster stuff from file to file. Just put all the layers I want to transfer into a group and drag the group to the other .psd. Works fine, including layer masks. But I have not found a good way to get vector paths from the Paths palette of one .psd to another. Of course I can select paths and copy them to the Win clipboard, switch to the other .psd, and paste them back in. The drawback to that method is that I lose the correct size relation between the results of previously done "stroke paths" operations (on raster layers) and the paths that generated them. Sometimes the copied-in paths are way too large, sometimes way too small, never Just Right.
As I'm sure most of you know, if you resize an entire Photoshop document from within PS, any paths it contains are correctly resized along with everything else. That's no longer true after grouped raster layers are dragged over to another document but paths are copied and pasted in. The size connection is lost. (Location placement, too.)
I WANT those paths! After I bring a piece of a drawing into the full final drawing, what looked good when I was working on it separately often doesn't look right any longer and I want to re-stroke those paths using different brush diameter, opacity, etc., or maybe even a completely different brush.
I've tried bring outside .psd files in as smart objects with the Place command but either that doesn't work or I'm not doing it right. Using Place, the paths in the Placed document don't come in at all.
I'll be very grateful for any hints or strategies any of you knowledgeable folks can give me. Thanks very much!

1. Connect the two macs - firewire, ethernet, sneakernet as suits you - and copy the iPhoto Library Folder from Old Machine to New Machine. Drag it from Home/Pictures to the same location on the new machine.
2. Because all the files 'belong' to the account on the old machine, you have to update the file permissions: hence Download BatchMod from
http://macchampion.com/arbysoft/
And apply it to the iPhoto Library Folder using the settings found here:
http://homepage.mac.com/toad.hall/.Pictures/Forum/BatChmod.png
(Credit to Old Toad for this one).
Note: This must be run on the new machine after copying the files over.
3. Then launch iPhoto on the new machine.

Getting path from file

Good Morning,
Is there a way to get a file path from a file without having to select it through client_get_file_name?
for example i have a file 'test_01.txt' in C:/
I cannot hard code the path as each day the txt name will change eg. 'test_02'.
Is there another way to select the full path name in C:/ where file like 'test%'?

On a variable i want to keep changing the path provided.
For example one day will be var:='C:/Test_01'
next day will be var:='C:/Test_03'
as the last number is generated randomly im trying to figure a way to get the correct path in C:/ where the name corresponds to 'test' so i can pass it to my variable

ScriptUI get path to indesign install directory

Does anyone know if there is a way to get a users path to their install directory?
I have script, that creates a new menu item when Indesign starts up. the menu item is clicked, it opens another script.
Right now, I have the path to the second script hardcoded, which works fine:
     C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS5.5\Scripts\Scripts Panel\DM_Core\DM_RemoveMenu.vbs
but now I have to give this to other users, and I need to know if there is some way to get the installation path that they have to their indesign.
Ultimately, what I would like to get is this:
     C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS5.5\Scripts
I have tried scriptsFolder but that doesn't take me to the right place.
Anyone have any ideas.

what is the usecase. Do you want to know if the users selected a column, or do you know the table cell the user clicked into ? Note that the selectionEvent does not pass the column information of the mouse focus. Also, which release of JDeveloper do you use?

How does javascript get string from applet?

hi, sir/madam:
I use an applet to deal with simulation, make the results to be a string and want to save it in a text file. Certainly, using applet to write local file is not good method (though I have some idea about it). I want that javaScript write something in browser and I save it with my mouse (manual) as a text file.

I'm not implying that ppl here don't know JavaScript or anything like that.....
In answering your questions, a Java applet can read from and write to local disk if proper permissions are granted either via a signed applet or setting the Java access right. Signing an applet can be a royal pain in the butt because you have to sign it one way for IE, another way for NN4, and yet another way if you use a plugin, etc....but here is a link in case you're interested:

A JavaScript definitely cannot read from or write to a local disk unless you get help from something like MS ASP or VB scripts. The only reason you were able to read thru the appletviewer is because it's not a true browser and it's written by Sun to work with their own product.
As far as using javascript to get information from an applet, you can try to make your applet scriptable via Netscape JSObject. I know for sure it works with IE and NN4+ but last time I tried, Sun and Netscape were still having trouble getting LiveConnect to work properly with NN6+.

i'm trying to get a input from user and write it into a file named alpe.jacl
To get multiple userinputs like address and jobtitle etc etc in the same single window.
and the code will save the inputs in alpe.jacl one by one in a new line like
nameis name
address russia
jobtitle dev
So i coded like below.
Though GUI for user input looks dull Its working fine.
Now I want this code to perform one more task which is the GUI will contain one more button INSTALL with OK and CALCEL .
and when after putting all inputs and creating the alpe.jacl file if someone clicks INSTALL it should start ./install.sh script present at the same folder which contains some unix shell commands.
Here am not able to figure out how to go further...
One more thing after all the inputs given when I am clicking on the OK button its closing the window instantly which i dont want. I want it like it should wait till someone press CANCEL to exit.

How to deploy a VO Bind variable to get value from user session....

A JSF Page has a table based on VO with two parameters. One of this parameters I will pass by operation ExecuteWithParams.
but the other parameter I need to pass a value from User session.

When you created a binding for executeWithParams in your pageDef, the action binding should have had NamedData elements for each of the parameters. These would have been assigned values from a variableIterator up in the executables section. The parameter that gets its value from user input should be left alone. For the parameter that gets its value from the user session, change the EL expression that defines its NDValue attribute so that it references the session information that you want to use. This can be a sessionScope variable that you set earlier in the session, as Frank suggests, a property of a managed bean in session scope, or some other variable.
