Air.SWF status in available instead of installed

Hi,
     I am building an Air Application in Ubuntu. I installed AirSDK 2.5 and flexsdk 4.1 and the Flash player version i am using is above 10. When tracing the status of air, i get air is available. But i need the status "installed" . Can anyone help me to resolve this error. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Does it show the right status after you click "Install" of an application?

Joyce

    Hi,
    We have migrated some Windows 7 clients from SCCM 2007 to SCCM 2012 (in which already hundreds of working W7 clients and their apps -most of them migrated from SCCM 2007).
    Now applications are shown as available instead of installed. F.e. Adobe Acrobat is installed but it shows as available.
    Please advise howto correct.

  • I have downloaded mavericks and it works ok. Why however stays my app in download status instead of installed status

    i have downloaded mavericks and it works ok. Why however stays my app in download status instead of installed status?

    Ok. Sleeping here. The App Store. Applications, other than the operating system, will be downloaded and automatically installed for you. Once that is done, the App Store Purchases category will (should) show a greyed out INSTALLED.
    In App Store purchases, I have three applications that have DOWNLOAD status. Mavericks, Mountain Lion, and Lion. This particular status means that I can download again, these operating system installers, if necessary. It does not imply anything is wrong.

  • Why are most of my applications only available to try instead of install?

    I subscribed to Creative Cloud last November. The greater majority of my programs say "try" next to them instead of "install."
    Do I not have full access to every program?

    Have you signed in with correct email address?

  • Adobe Air installation status issue via silent installation

    I installed adobe air silently, then installed an adobe air applicaiton silently.  Everything works, and I can launch the application.  However, if I use the status check via air.swf file it has the "available but not installed" and it can't retrieve the version of my air application.  Once I double click on "any" .air file, it launches the non-silent installer, and I don't have to even install or update the app, just lanching the iapp nstaller non-silently seemed to correct something.  From then on air.swf statu now returns "installed" and it can read the version of my app.  Can anyone tell me what's going on and how can I correct this?

    Ok, I understand.  So before we continue, we really need to figure out what the exact error is.  Can you, on at least 2 systems, generate the MSI logs we'll need?  Here's a document that explains how to enable logging and where to find the logs once they've been created:
    How to enable Windows logging
    Once you've enabled logging, try installing again.  Grab the newly created msi logs and either post here or email me at [email protected]  I'll examine the logs and see if we can find a common issue between the systems.

  • Air.swf getApplicationVersion() not calling back

    I am trying to use air.swf from
    http://airdownload.adobe.com/air/browserapi
    per the Adobe documentation to detect if an air application is
    already installed. I'm using getApplicationVersion but the callback
    function is never called. launchApplication() and
    installApplication() work fine.
    The code looks like this:
    _air.getApplicationVersion(appID, pubID,
    versionDetectCallback);
    function versionDetectCallback(version:String):void { do
    stuff }
    VersionDetectCallback() is never called. I de-compiled the
    air.swf and ran the code directly to try and figure out what's
    failing. But I get the same result. I can see the timer on the
    LocalConnection endpoint timing out after 5 seconds. I just can't
    figure out why the appinstaller is not calling back. The actual
    call (taken from the decompiled swf) looks like this:
    airappinstaller = new ProductManager("airappinstaller");
    var launchArgs:Array;
    launchArgs = ["-isinstalled", appID, pubID, "adobe.com" + ":"
    + lcName, "onApplicationVersion"];
    airappinstaller.launch(launchArgs.join(" "));
    where onApplicationVersion is the endpoint callback function
    and lcName is the LocalConnection name.
    It doesn't matter if I make the call from the Loader Init
    event or in a button click the callback function is never called. I
    am using Flash CS3.

    Hi Lisa,
    I am on windows yes,  and I seem to have got it working.  I found this problem to be very perculiar as there were many things my badge didnt like - such as a case statement instead of a load if if's.   anyway my solution is below,  although I must say, that now nothing happens if the user doesnt have air installed!  If they have Air installed but not my application, it will install my app but the need air installed first and that is not ideal!
    Maybe implementing your timer solution may help this?  Thanks for taking an interest!

  • Log in set to Available instead of open application?

    Is there a way to have iChat automatically set my status to Available through the toolbar icon instead of having iChat a log in item? I understand you can hide log in applications, but if I don't have a connection immediately I get an error saying "network connection issue".

    Hi,
    In iChat Menu > Preferences > General Section there is an option to Set the Status to Available when iChat Starts up. It is the default setting and will override anything set last time it was Quit (including Invisible).
    However I don't think this is what you mean.
    If iChat is not the last Item in the System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items for your User Account you could try deleting it and re-adding it to the bottom.
    It does not make a difference in short lists as the Apps can sometimes start faster than the Network is established.
    Other than that it a question of using an Applescript in Login items that repeatedly tried to connect iChat.

  • Accept button instead of Install button when trying to reinstall iPhoto after Clean install

    Hi All,
    I recentely did a clean install for my Lion OS.
    Everything works fine, except iPhoto was missing.
    I opened the App Store app on the mac, and was able to successfully update GarageBand and iMove.
    However, it didn't give me the option to update iPhoto as it did when I opened the mac out of the box.
    I then went to the iPhoto page, and instead of "install" button I now have an "Accept" button.
    When pressing on the accept button, I get the following error message:
    "These apps have already been accepted.
    "These apps were already assigned to your Apple ID and are available in your Purchases list."
    iPhoto is neither present on the Purchases list nor in the update tab.
    Will apprecaite suggestions.
    Thank you

    Hi Caroloine,
    Thank you for your response.
    I already have the 10.7.2 update. Doesn't help.
    Also, the link you specifited is about downloading past purchases from iTunes Store, or the iPhone/iPad App store. I am trying to downloading iPhoto for the Mac from the Mac App Store (the App Store that is installed on the dock). I don't think it is the same stores.
    After your suggestion though, just to be sure, I tried to seach iPhoto (for Lion) on the iTunes Store, but I don't think you can buy it there. It just give you iPhono/iPad results when searching for iPhoto, and I couldn't find iPhoto in any preveriously purchased list on itunes.
    Any other suggestions?

  • AIR.SWF in-browser API is broken with FP 11.2

    The AIR.SWF in-browser API, as documented here:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/air/build/WSfffb011ac560372f-1c6efe05128cca667e7-8000.html#WS5 b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d118666ade46-7cd2
    is no longer working. It reports that AIR isn't installed when it really is.
    I've filed a bug for this here:
    https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3062591

    LocalConnection will only work between two applications running on the same machine.
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/flash/net/LocalConnecti on.html
    "LocalConnection objects can communicate only among files that are running on the same client computer, but they can be running in different applications — for example, a file running in a browser and a SWF file running in Adobe AIR."
    If you need to communicate between an app running on an iOS device and a swf in a browser on a computer look into the ServerSocket Class:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/air/reference/html/flash/net/ServerSocket.html
    Works a little differently than LocalConnection but will allow connections between two different physical devices (ie: 2 computers, a computer and a mobile device, 2 mobile devices, etc).  Since the iOS device uses the air runtime stuff it should have access to the ServerSocket Class while the browser swf can use a standard Socket to connect to the iOS device.

  • Working with badge.swf and air.swf (browser api)

    I basically want to install and run my app through the
    browser so ive been testing but can't manage to figure out how the
    air.swf api works. i am stuck at loading air.swf. the page below
    has a tutorial but a downloadable sample code would be perfect, not
    sure where the little snippets of code from the "Loading the
    air.swf file", "Checking from a web page if an AIR application is
    installed", "installing an AIR application from the browser", and
    "Launching an installed AIR application from the browser" go in my
    own codebase. Also im a bit unclear on where i get appid or
    developer id. if someone has an example app or more in-depth
    explantion of incorporating the given code , i would much
    appreciate it.

    The main thing you must understand about air.swf
    is that its most important functionality can only be called from
    within a UI event handler, such as for a button click. It's very
    picky about this. You can't, for example, use the button click
    event handler to begin the loading of air.swf, then in the "loaded"
    callback do the air.swf API call. air.swf has to be loaded and
    ready at the time the event handler is called. So, load it on app
    startup. I even go to the extent of disabling the buttons that call
    into air.swf until it's loaded.

    im a bit unclear on where i get appid or developer id
    The appid is your application's unique ID, which
    you gave in setting up your project. Adobe recommends using
    something based on your web site's domain name, in reverse order as
    is done in Java and Objective C. If you're at foo.com, and call
    your program Qux, then com.foo.qux is a good appid. The use of
    domain-like names helps ensure that programs from different
    companies don't collide with each others' namespaces.
    By default, the pubid is a random number assigned by the IDE.
    I forgot how you find out what number it used, just that there's a
    way. Or, you can assign it yourself, in the project settings for
    the AIR app. Right-click the project, go to the Run/Debug Settings
    section, edit the launch configuration for your AIR app. You'll
    find a Publisher ID field there. The documentation for ADL may be
    helpful for picking your own pubid.

  • Load AIR swf in browser

    Hi,
    Is it possible to load a AIR swf in browser
    without creating a new flex application that load that AIR swf?
    Best Regards,
    Mihai

    The only thing that really matters is whether important APIs are available in the runtime.  I can write a swf that draws a bunch of circles and it will run in both AIR and the browser.  But then it isn’t that useful for AIR, so I start using AIR APIs and then it won’t run in the browser because those APIs aren’t available in the browser players.
    You could design your AIR app as two pieces: an AIR shell that does AIR things, and a sub-SWF that doesn’t make any assumptions about AIR APIs.  That sub-SWF then has a better chance of running in the browser.

  • Why do all the programs i need say try instead of install i just got the student subscription

    all the major apps that i need say try instead of install or download, how do i fix this ????

    Hello lanibrown1808,
    I checked you account on my side and it looks fine. I can see you have Creative Cloud for Individuals subscription.
    It seems that you computer is not properly communicating with Adobe servers.
    Please refer the article: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-network-issues.html and try to reset the host file if in case of any Adobe entries.
    Please do let me know the status if it worked or not.

  • Some of the apps in my creative cloud are saying try instead of install. Why?

    Some of my apps say try instead of install. How can i fix this?

    @joelg16362543
    There are different possible reason for this.
    Since you had changed the plan from Photography plan to CC full subscription.the status might not have updated or there may be Activation server connectivity  issue .
    1)First thing to do is Sign out from Creative Cloud and Sign in.
    2)Check Hosts , and let me know if  you can see any Adobe entries like 127.0.01 activate.adobe.com...etc ???
    3)Corrupt opm.db database file
    4)Corrupt license files , Firewall ,,,etc
    Follow first 2 steps and check ,.
    Still face same issue ,let me know

  • Link to API for air.swf

    Hi, I've been searching the interwebs all morning and can't seem to find a link to documentation describing the properties, methods and events I can use from the air.swf file in conjunction with using AIR via a web browser.  I'm able to load the air.swf and see the framework status, but I don't know what other options I can use to perform actions via the API.  If anyone knows of a link to documentation I'd appreciate hearing about it.  Thanks!

    Hi, thanks for the information but I already have the developer guide that contains this.  What I'm looking for is documentation on the class specifications for the browser API.  Two methods that are mentioned in the documentation I already have are getStatus() and getApplicationVersion(), but I haven't seen any other methods, properties or events documented elsewhere.
    Ideally if there's something akin to the Flash help file documentation of the internal classes that would be great.  Thanks for your help!

  • Bundle air.swf in the application, launching other air applications

    Hi,
    I have 2 air applications which need to be installed on users machine. From one application I need to check if the other application is installed or not. If it is installed, need to launch that application else install that application...
    I am using following code to do that.. which works fine..
                   _loader = new Loader();
                    var loaderContext:LoaderContext = new LoaderContext();
                    loaderContext.applicationDomain = ApplicationDomain.currentDomain;
                    _loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.INIT, processApplicaitons);
                    _loader.load(new URLRequest("http://airdownload.adobe.com/air/browserapi/air.swf"), loaderContext);
    My question is,
    Can I bundle air.swf within the air applications, so that this works in offline mode when the user is not connected to the internet ?
    Any thoughts ?
    Regards,
    Brijesh

    It might work (I'm not really sure), but it definitely isn't supported. Adobe reserves the right to make changes to how the air.swf program, and the related infrastructure, works -- which could break you app at any time.
