Hello,
There is an issue java (IBM Java) running on the AIX. Basically pmrep and pmcmd commands are being called in by referencing PATH variables, when trying to connect from DAC client, the variable is overwritten by the Java running on the AIX box. We have resolved similar issue on the past.
I will update later what I have done to resolve it

As a learning exercise, I have installed the following on a single Windows XP machine (Am aware that Windows XP is not supported for Informatica Service install - but currently have access to only this machine)
- OBIA 7.9.6.1

- DAC client & server
I have created the Repository and Integration services in Informatica PowerCenter and are running in normal mode
I have configured the DAC as per installation document. I am now trying to configure the DAC Integration Settings for informatica.

HI All,
I fixed the first part of the issue. Now I am able to connect top the Integration Service. I created system environment variable INFA_DOMAINS_FILE and included the BIN path in PATH variable.
However unable to connect to the Informatica Repository service. I am getting the follwoing error

The following steps were carried out inorder to solve the problem:
1) Create the Products in target system with the same name as in Host.
2) Create the RFC Connetion "HTTP Connection to ABAP System".
3) Create a Site of Type "External Interface for XML"
4) Assign RFC Destination to the Site Attributes
5) Create Subsciption and publication for "Product Configuration MESG".
6) Assing site and BDOC Type to the Interface Type in IMG
7) Define Request object
8) Start it request by entereing the Request Name, Source Site and Target Site.

The Informatica maps are not taking the parameters from dac

Hi All,
The Informatica maps are not taking the parameters from dac. We have tried setting the parameters at DAC level, task level. The parameter file is getting generated by DAC and has correct values as we expect. But when we run a full load from DAC, the initial date in Informatica is being taken as 1/1/1753. Do we need to specify the parameter file name at workflow level?
Is there any setting that we are missing. Please guide us and let us know the steps we should take to make sure that the parameters that we set at DAC level get passed to the Informatica maps. Also mention this is happening only with dates and other parameters like data source num , soruce and target database information is getting passed to Informatica maps.
The version of Informatica as 7.4.1 and dac version AN 328, Build date Aug 8 2007.
Please Help me in this issue.

Try to make sure that your parameter file's path in Infa is in-sync with the path of DAC files being generated.
The date you are getting seems strange - which are your Source/Target DB platforms?
In general take a look at [this thread| http://forums.oracle.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=3405906#3405906] , it may make some thing clearer for you.

Registering Informatica service in DAC client Fails

we are configuring BI-application with Oracle11.5.10.
we are successful in installing all the components.
But we are stuck in registering Informatica service in DAC client (section 4.12.2 in install guide)
we gave the setting details as below
Name -->PowercentreBIREPO_Integration_service (this is our informatica integration service name )
Type -->Informatica
ServerHostname--> <IP Address>
ServerPort--> 4006
Login ---> Administrator
Password ---> <pwd>
Maximum session -->default 10
Repository Name -->Oracle_BI_DW_Base
Inactive
when we tested the connection we get "failure connection to Integration service name " STD output error Output
Also in the Dac Client we can see the DAC serve Status icon not in green Color, DAC server is in Idle mode only
please let us know how to resolve it..

I am configuring the DAC Server Communication with Informatica PowerCenter, I have configured the the Imformatica connection (the test works). The Repository connection does not work.

Need Help to check DAC task log in DAC

Can someone pls help me to check DAC task log in DAC.
I mean i want to see DAC task log.
The thing is I have a scenario: Where DAC task has failed but the Informatica Workflow invoked by the DAC task is succeeded.
So I want to check DAC task log to find the reason for the dac task failure.

You can check this by going to the DAC Client -> find the Task that failed-> Click Details. You should see where it failed..for instance, since the WF succeeded, it may have failed on an Index creation. You will see all the steps associated with the task. Also, once you find the step that failed, you can click on the "Status Description" column to see additional details. If needed, you can also check the logs on the server itself but you will probably find the issue from the DAC client.

Cannot Execute Any UNIX Scripts From DAC

I have a BI system implementation on Oracle Solaris Servers. Both DAC as well as Informatica are on single server. My business requirement calls for a frequent Data load into BI and Cache purge. i checked the forum and found so many articles on how to automate Purging of Cache Post ETL. I am successful in creating a script to purge the cache and i already tested it by executing the script manually. But when i call this script from a DAC task it fails. In order to make sure that there is no problem with the Script i created a simple script which just says "Hello" and tried to invoke the script from DAC task but failed.

Calling stored procedure from DAC

Anyone has instructions on calling stored procedures from DAC. If I had a stored procedure called gary.refresh, where would I put that in the DAC. How do I specify the database that my stored procedure is in.. There doesn't seem to be any examples of this in the documentation for DAC administration

You have 3 options.
Option 1:
Create an SQL file that runs the stored proc. For instance, if
your stored proc is called "aggregate_proc" you would create a
file called aggregate_proc.sql that has the syntax to run the
stored proc. Put the file in the CustomSQLs directory that hangs
off the DAC main directory. Then, in the DAC, create a new task
(Execution Type = SQL File). The command for Incremental Load
would be aggregate_proc.sql.
Option 2:
Create an Informatica mapping (and corresponding workflow) that
runs the stored proc. Then create a DAC task (Execution type Informatica) that runs the workflow.
Option 3 :
Directly mention Schema.procedure name in the DAC task

Email Configuration in DAC

I am trying to set up Email Configuration in DAC.
step 1. DAC > SETUP> Email Recipients - Provide all the necessary information.
step 2. Tools > Dac Server Management > Dac Server Setup > Email Configuration and also DB connection information.
Now my question do we need to create any "Email Task" as a additional one in the Execution plan or by default if we set the Email configuration will DAC send the notifications?

You can check the DAC documentation from Oracle. There is a section on Email configuration and what emails are sent for each notification level:
Notification Level
The notification levels are as follows:
•10
Notifies recipient of success or failure of each task.
•5
Notifies recipient of success of failure of the entire ETL process.
•1
Notifies recipient that ETL completed successfully.

I didn't get mail from DAC

I didn't get mail from DAC after the end of running an execution plan,
Although I get test mail form DAC.
I've tried to define my self with each level, but it doesn't help.
Does anyone know how the problem can be solved ?

i faced the same problem, first edit config.sh/cmd and dac_env.sh/cmd files and edit automationUtils.properties
file, which is located in the <Domain_Home>\dac directory, and then try running the command line utilities. refer this doc for more e14849.

OBIEE Cache clear and refresh of reports from DAC

Hi All,
I have an existing process where OBIEE cache clear and Dashboard report refresh is happened from DAC.
But the issue is both do not happen parallely, the both tasks are kept in single text file and they are called from a batch file from DAC. Below is the code
nqcmd -d AnalyticsWeb -u Administrator -p SADMIN -s D:\OracleBI\server\Bin\PurgeAllCache.txt
So I want to make them run parellely so that Cache clear and refresh of reports happen parellely. In order to achieve do I need to create seperate batch files or can I manage by changing the above code.
Please Suggest.

Can you share the code in the file PurgeAllCache.txt
There might be some issue with code, make sure you use ';' for each statement.
or else use 2 files and 2 commands to execute them.
