AJAX Pagination

Folks,
I have a page where I call an IFRAME to populate my report, a dynamic pl/sql region calling a database package that creates the sql (depending on user selections) and executes the sql and returns the data to a ref cursor result set, the # of rows displayed can be anywhere from 0-500. I cannot use APEX reports region here (don't ask me why, lost of permutations and combinations of columns that can be displayed, so i do it in a package).
I want AJAX pagination here, is that a good idea? if yes how do i do it? I have tried calling an application process, but it returns all the records, not just the next n# rows.
If no, Ajax pagination is not a good idea please explain.
Thanks
Bharat

Carl,
I am doing a bulk fetch from my select into a plsql tables and then display them on the APEX page, so i can do a fetch limit but that does not seem to work as it fetches 1..50 then 1..100, not 50..100. I understand if I changed the architecture to accept rownum this might work better...will consider. Also the whole pages refreshes when i call an ondemad process and so i loose by intelligent header i created with sortable column headers.
am i being clear? if not let me know i will try to explain better, might be tough to host the page (we use materialized views and OLS policies)
Thanks
Bharat

  • Why should i use JSF rather than Struts?

    What makes JSF useful than Struts? In my project I am using like
    <h:commandButton action="#{loginbean.execute}" actionListener="#{loginbean.handleEvent}" ..../>
    In the above commandButton as you can see that i am not exposing the beanName. However i am exposing the beanMethod which are execute and handleEvent. Is there any other way to hide the name of the method because
    From what i understand is Presentation Layer should be shielded from whatever is going on in the backend. So, this doesn't do good right?

You can rename your method to reflect what you want to see in the front end if you want. You can use JSFTemplating to use handlers which can be mapped to any name you want to see and do not have to match the method name of the java class (although I suspect this is the opposite direction from what you are suggesting you want).
    EL in jsf (i.e. #{bean.login}) is meant to do the mapping in JSF pages rather than externalize this in a separate file and force the page developer to edit multiple files for simple tasks. Although in some cases navigation is broken out into a separate file (i.e. faces-config.xml file using the default NavigationHandler navigation rules), this can also be done inline. It's a different way of doing development and has its pros and cons (easier, but mixes up presentation and controller somewhat). That said... JSF is very flexible, it CAN externalize any of this information, it just requires you to provide a different ViewHandler information that allows you to enter the data the way you like to see it (imo, you won't realize any benefit from the separation, though -- I used to think it was worth doing but have changed my opinion).
    So, this doesn't do good right?Perhaps in theory... but in practice, I don't think it really has a drawback. One caveat, I like how I implemented event handling in JSFTemplating as opposed to action/actionListener attributes which are not configurable and are more opaque than I prefer. My parameterized handlers allow for better code-reuse, but arguably mix up presentation and controller code even more (depending on how they're used).
    Please suggest.
    How does Component and Renderers help. I am using encodeEnd() method in Renderer to render what the input or the output should look like. Do we need to switch to JSF from Struts just because of this... I don't see how and why components and renderers could help me..The idea of a component helps tremendously as someone else can create a component for you and you can benefit from it. There are many great component sets available on the market (for free and for purchase). For example: Woodstock (which has drag/drop support inside NetBeans), RichFaces, IceFaces, Tomahawk, Scales, etc.
    Renderers allow you to cleanly separate the presentation of a component with the data of the component. You can then switch out the presentation to support multiple markups (i.e. client devices). In addition, JSF's rich lifecycle provide logical places for certain types of operations to occur, the renderers participate in this so that they are performing their tasks at a well defined time. And finally, many different components may re-use the same renderer, or a single component may use one of several renderers. The separation of data and display (model and view) makes this very clean.
    JSF is not Struts. If you expect it to be struts, you may be disappointed (or if you expect struts to be JSF, you'll be disappointed). JSF has a lot to offer (as does struts), you have to decide what is important to you and your organization. Some things to consider wrt to JSF: very strong vendor support; many large set of components to choose from; multiple standards-based tools to choose from; very flexible (most parts of the framework are pluggable); active growing development community; component-based model which encapsulates complexity for things like Ajax, pagination, and other things (often complicated in a non-component architecture); good integration with other frameworks.
    I don't know if this makes your decision any easier, but hopefully it helps clarify how you should be viewing JSF & Struts.
    Good luck!

  • Difference between Report Template "Standard (PPR)" and "Standard"?

    What is the difference between Report Template "Standard (PPR)" and Report Template "Standard"? What does PPR mean and what makes it different? Why would you use PPR rather than just standard?
    Thanks,
    Linda

    Hello,
    PPR (Partial Page Refresh) is just a term used to describe some AJAX pagination and sorting functionality, it's just a holdover from before the term AJAX existed.
    You can just change the template and on your report to enable that functionality. In 3.0 it will just be on off switch in your pagination options.

  • AJAX calling report from one page to another not Reseting Pagination

    I have links on one page that when clicked are calling a report on another page and loading it in a DIV with AJAX. The problem I am having is that the reports on the 2nd page are built dynamicly depending on the link you click. If you are viewing lines 16-30 and go to a report that only has like 5 lines, you get the Need to Reset Pagination error.
    Invalid set of rows requested, the source data of the report has been modified.Reset Pagination>
    In the htmldb_Get line, I thought you could set it to reset pagination when it fires. The AJAX is below. Does the RP need to be somewere else? or am I just missing something...
    function doReport(pC,pM) {
    document.getElementById('report_drop').innerHTML = 'Loading Page...';
    var tableRow = document.getElementById('reports');
    tableRow.style.display = 'block';
         var get = new htmldb_Get(null,$x('pFlowId').value,'RP',2);
            get.add('P2_CODE',pC)
            get.add('P2_MPC',pM);
         gReturn = get.get(null,'<clip>','</clip>');
         get = null;
         $x('report_drop').innerHTML = gReturn;
       init_htmlPPRReport($x('report_drop').getElementsByTagName('DIV')[0].id.replace('report',''));
         return;
    }So from what I understand the line below should be resetting this
         var get = new htmldb_Get(null,$x('pFlowId').value,'RP',2);   Edited by: Matt.Smith on Jul 18, 2011 12:08 PM

  • Ajax based report and pagination

    Hi I have searched through the web for ajax based report in Apex. I have found the following link as very useful. http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=31517:98
    Here content of one page is pulled to the current page. It works fine. Pagination is also working exactly as the Apex reports. But I was thinking of something different, not pulling the content from other page. I have done it myself as follows.
    1. Take an HTML region called Parameter
    2. Take a select list in the parameter region with LOV query
    name : P2_DEPTNO
    LOV : Select dname d,deptno r
    from dept
    3.Take an HTML region
    Source : <div id=ajx></div>
    4. Create an Application Item called F103_DEPTNO
    5. Create an Application Process
    Name : getEmpTable
    Source:
    declare
    v_deptno number(3);
    begin
    OWA_UTIL.mime_header ('text/xml', FALSE);
    HTP.p ('Cache-Control: no-cache');
    HTP.p ('Pragma: no-cache');
    OWA_UTIL.http_header_close;
    HTP.prn ('<table>');
    HTP.prn ('<tr>');
    htp.prn('<th>Employee Number</th>');
    htp.prn('<th>Employee Name</th>');
    htp.prn('<th>Salary</th>');
    htp.prn('<th>Department</th>');
    htp.prn('<th>Job</th>');
    htp.prn('<th>Hiredate</th>');
    HTP.prn ('</tr>');
    foR R in (select empno,ename,sal,deptno,job,hiredate from emp where deptno= :F103_DEPTNO )
    LOOP
    htp.prn('<tr>');
    htp.prn('<td>'||r.empno||'</td>');
    htp.prn('<td>'||r.ename||'</td>');
    htp.prn('<td>'||r.sal||'</td>');
    htp.prn('<td>'||r.deptno||'</td>');
    htp.prn('<td>'||r.job||'</td>');
    htp.prn('<td>'||r.hiredate||'</td>');
    htp.prn('</tr>');
    END LOOP;
    END IF;
    HTP.prn ('</table>');
    end;
    6. Write a javascript Function in HTML Header
    Source:
    <script language = "JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    function GetEmployees()
    var get = new htmldb_Get(null,&APP_ID.,'APPLICATION_PROCESS=getEmpTable',0);
    get.add('F103_DEPTNO',html_GetElement('P2_DEPTNO').value);
    gReturn = get.get();
    document.getElementById('ajx').innerHTML = gReturn;
    get = null;
    </script>
    7. Go to edit page item of P2_DEPTNO and in HTML Form Element Attributes write onchange="GetEmployees()"
    8. Run and test.
    Ajax based report works fine.
    In the link specified above pagination works fine.
    In my example very few records will appear but in case there are a lot of records appear then it is a must to manage it with pagination, letting only a few records to appear in each page. But in my example I have no idea how to manage pagination. Need help from the experts. Please notify..

    Hi,
    You need to work with ROWNUM of result set. Create two hidden items, one for record_start_rownum and other for record_end_rownum. You need to add where clause to your SELECT query in Application process. Then your query will look like
    select *
      from ( select a.*, rownum r
               from ( select empno,ename,sal,deptno,job,hiredate from emp where deptno= :F103_DEPTNO  ) a
              where rownum < :P1_ record_start_rownum )
    where r > :P1_record_end_rownumYou may find following asktom link interesting..

  • Ajax Report Pull from another Page Pagination override

    We are on a time crunch and need to get this application working in a timely manner, any help would greatly be appreciated..
    *[History leading up to problem]*
    We followed the code from this example http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=11933:48:4441142106394445 which pulls a report from another page using AJAX so we could update a report (in this case a tabular form). Since Tabular Forms cannot update past 30-40 records we had to turn on pagination to prevent errors when trying to submit it.
    Since Pagination on the bottom of the report/tabular form links to the other page the report is on, I decided to attempt to override next> href link to instead call a javascript with the url from next> (Report/Tabular Form Pagination) with Jquery the following code {the override is working} {comments added here for clarification}...
    var oldhref =$("a.t20pagination").attr("href"); //get Apex Pagination a href link location
    $("a.t20pagination").attr('href', "javascript:return false"); // change the Apex Pagination a href llink location to do nothing
    $("a.t20pagination").click(function () {   // Create an onclick for Apex Pagination a href that calls a javascript function
    get_report_page(oldhref); // This function is needed because I am grabbing the report from another page, I hope to
    }); // get this javascript working [the reason why I am asking this question here]
    $("a.t20pagination").removeClass("t20pagination"); // Removed the pagination class just in case it was causing issues.
    The function I am working on below... {I figured I have to do the htmldb_get function {I am still new to Apex so I am not totally clear on it, but learning}, to get the report again from the other page, but I need to add pagination.. So I figured I could split the link location based on the : and go through the array for the parts I need to pass in the htmldb_get}, with alerts to help diagnose the problem...
    function get_report_page(curUrl) {
    alert ('Hello how are you today?');
    var temp = new Array();
    temp = curUrl.split(':');
    alert ('I like the number '+temp.length);
    for ( var i=0, len=temp.length; i<len; ++i ){
    alert (i+":"+temp); // Square brackets actually used, changed to squiggly here to show
    var get = new htmldb_Get(null,$x('pFlowId').value,null,205,null, null, temp{4}); // Square brackets actually used, changed to squiggly here to show
    gReturn = get.get(null,'<htmldb:BOX_BODY>','</htmldb:BOX_BODY>');
    get = null;
    $x('ReportDrop').innerHTML = gReturn;
    *[Actual Problem]*
    Since the report is on another page (in this case 205) and is being pulled onto Page 200 where the user is, when the user clicks on the Next> for the report/tabluar form pagination, the user is automatically thrown to page 205 {I want to keep the user on page 200 and pass the pagination, then pull the report/tabular form again}
    I looked at the link http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=11620:63:834860992188521::NO::: but I am not sure where to stick the report pagination{I thought it would be queryString {above you see I am setting temp[4] in the queryString parameter}..
    I know the function is working since I get the alert messages, after that where the report would be it gives the following error...
    Bad Request
    Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.
    mod_plsql: /pls/apex/wwv_flow.show HTTP-400 Signature Mismatch or Missing '='
    Oracle-Application-Server-10g/10.1.2.0.2 Oracle-HTTP-Server Server at nysastst.senate.state.ny.us Port 7778
    Can I simply splice the url like I am doing above and pass it to htmldb_get (or is there anyway to pass the report pagination using htmldb_get)?
    If so, what am I doing wrong?
    Also, does this seem like a decent solution or is there a better solution for this issue?
    - Thanks in advance,
    - Brian

    Thanks cb... it worked like a charm..
    but at first, I Could not get it to work because in my report that was being pulled from another page did not have Enable Partial Refresh set to Yes under Report Attributes > Layout and Pagination.. When it was off the a href link of the pagination was showing a standard link. Once Enable Partial Refresh was set to Yes, the pagination then showed a link to javascript:$a_report(...); which meant you can now override it with the javascript function.

  • Pagination using AJAX

    i need to implement pagination in my jsp page.
    is it possible to create a table in the page and upon clicking the next page,retrieve only the sufficient data from the server using AJAX?

    I think you can do it only using JSF DataTable instead Ajax.

  • Reset report pagination using javascript / ajax ?

    Hiho,
    i have a page where i pull a ppr report from a different page using htmldb_get like described in Carls excellent examples. The first page also contains a textfield to set a where condition in the report, for examle to search a streetname..
    Now i need a way to reset the pagination of the report using javascript.
    Example:
    I search for street_name_1 and the report returns 100 rows, 10 rows on each page. Now i use the pagination links to switch throught report pages to page 5.
    Now i search for street_name_2 and the report returns 5 rows, so this would only be one page in the report. But the report pagination still is on page 5, so no results are shown. And no pagination buttons either.
    What can i do to reset the pagination before i pull the report without submitting the page?
    Thanks for help,
    DIrk

    I have similar problem with AJAX report pagination. When I click the pagination for next set of rows, it gives "undefined" error. I'm trying to call "get.clear('RP');" in the javascript function as susggested in above url, but doen't work. any examples are appreciated.

  • Error-Message "Item not defined on current page" after Page submit - AJAX

    Hello,
    a lot of subpages (regions) are loaded over htmldb_get and displayed on a master page.
    The parts loaded over AJAX are reports. The report regions of these reports contain a hidden and protected field, which hold the page number (&APP_PAGE_ID.)
    This was necessary because I had to overwrite the standard pagination function $a_report on the master page. Otherwise the standard pagination function uses always the page number of the master page and not the page number of the loaded subpages. The overwritten function $a_report is placed in the master page header and searchs for the hidden + proteced field, containing the page number of the loaded subpage.
    This works already fine.
    But after submitting the master page with before loaded subpages over htmldb_get, I get following error message:
    Error Item ID (15348310159873659) is not an item defined on the current page .
    Setting the hidden + protected field on the subpage to never display, the error message disappear, but the pagination function doesn´t work any more.
    Where is the mistake I made?
    Greetings
    Michael

    Hello Ben,
    yesterday evening I read in short your answer, but today I can´t see your answer. Have you edited it again?
    My pagination function works fine and I would maintain it if possible.
    But now a new feature is requiered, which require a submit on the master page. The submit on the master page is not possible due to the hidden field on the loaded subpage, containing the page number for the pagination function.
    Using a normal text field (not saving state) works as long as the text field is visible (condiational view != never). But this information shouldn´t be visible to the user.
    I thought, perhaps a cleanworkaround exists.
    As dirty workaround I could place the information about the actual page number in the report themself (static invisible column). But as soon as the column is invisible (not shown), I have no access on this value
    With a normal hidden html-input-element (not a APEX-Item) in the report regions header of the subpage, holding the page number, I get a http 400 error on page submit.
    An I-Frame is not really a solution, because the master page contains several subpages, which should only be loaded and displayed on demand and not immediatly on page load.
    Greetings
    Michael

  • AJAX Report Refresh  a_report- Condition for display not being validated

    Hi ,
    I have a report which has the following condition for dispaly:
    Exists(SQL query returs atleast one row) - SELECT * from temp1The query for the report is : select * from temp1 Now I have a button on the page and on click of the button I call the below Javascript :
    function f_insert_Temp_table(pTrans){
          var l_Return = null;
          var get = new htmldb_Get(null,$x('pFlowId').value,
                  'APPLICATION_PROCESS=temp_table_insert',206);       // ODP to insert into temp1
          get.add('TRANS_ID_ITEM',pTrans);
          gReturn = get.get('');
         //alert(gReturn);
         //$x_Show('6342610690289435');
         $a_report('6342610690289435','1','15','15');
    }Everything executes fine and the report refreshes the rows but the condition used for display doesn't get checked when I call $a_report() ...
    I can see the ODP execute successfully and row gets inserted into temp1 which means report condition is satisfied .
    If I remove the condition for the report, I can see the report getting refreshed and showing new rows through the $a_Report() call.
    Is there something that needs to be added to the script or $a_report call to validate the condition too ?Is there a way I can validate the region condition too ?
    Appreciate any suggestions/pointers here. I really do not want to refresh the whole page.
    Thanks,
    Dippy
    Edited by: Dippy on Feb 5, 2010 11:05 AM

    Hi Flavio,
    Thanks for your support.I figured where I was going completely wrong.
    Its just that when the page loads for the first time the temp table is empty and hence the report is not being displayed which simply
    means that the report id Im passing into the a_report function is not rendered on the page. Hence no matter what the temp table contains the report id is absent from the page.
    I fixed it as follows :
    Remove the condition for the report.
    Added and item and computed(P_Compute) its value using select count(*) from temp.
    Added an onload JS function which does a $x_Show('Report_Region') if P_Compute > 0 or $x_Hide('Report_Region') if P_Compute <0 .
    Now in my JS function which has an AJAX call to an ODP does an $x_Show('Report_Region').
    Flavioc : the query for my report is simple
    select * from tempIt finally dawned upon me that I'm trying to catch hold of an ID that's not rendered.
    So one issue is solved now the other part would be figuring out how to make $a_report work with pagination etc .

  • Interactive report jquery not executed on pagination

    recently i fell into another problem when using jquery in an interactive report.
    in the page header i do this
    <script type="text/javascript">
    $(document).ready( function() {
       var pageID = $('#pFlowId').val();
       $('.Artikelinfo').each( function(i) {
                var $item = $(this);
                var get = new htmldb_Get(null,pageID ,'APPLICATION_PROCESS=GET_ARTIKEL_INFO',0);
                get.addParam('x01', $item.attr('artnr'));
                $item.attr('rel', get.url());
                $item.attr('relTitle', $item.html());
                return true;
       $('.Artikelinfo').cluetip({
             arrows: true,
             tracking: true,
             titleAttribute: 'relTitle'
    });in the link attributes of a column i put this:
    target="_blank" class="Artikelinfo" artnr="#NUMMER#" rel="" reltitle=""it works like charm... but only on the first page.
    as soon as a change page the jquery is not executed, the attributes are not set.
    i think this is because while pagination of the IR the actual page is not reloaded.
    how can i achieve that that the jqury part is executed after pagination?
    u can find an example here [http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=19645:1] username "user1" password "abc123"
    hover over the first column u will see a cluetip.

  • How can I decouple the pagination for a global region?

    I was having a delightful time using a common region defined on a global page when I determined that pagination setting was begin carried from one page to the next.  Arghhhh!  So for example, if I have paged to the second set (page) of rows (11-20) on Page 1 and then I go to Page 2, the second set (page) of rows (11-20) is displayed there.   If I go to a page which only has a first set of rows (1-10), I get the pagination error "Invalid set of rows requested, the source data of the report has been modified. Reset Pagination".  And when I click to reset, it just repeats the error.  [I suppose it tries to display the second set or rows (11-20) again -- which doesn't exist.  What's that saying about insanity?]
    How can I decouple the pagination for a global region? I want it to operarate just as it would if it were not sharing a common region.  So if I'm looking at rows (11-20) on page 1, I can go to any other page beginning with rows 1-10 there.  Then return to page 1 where I left off with rows 11-20 displayed.  One solution is NOT to paginate but that's not my preferred solution.

    The fact that there are different numbers of rows returned on different pages implies that the reports have some local page dependencies, so why try to use a global component? What's the actual requirement? How many pages does the report have to appear on? (Please say it is a report and not a tabular form...)

    The point is that a global region is just that: a single region that happens to be displayed on multiple pages. It does not create multiple instances of a region on different pages. (Specifically, a region has a single region ID, and this is used to reference it whether it appears on one page or all of them. The region ID is used by the report for the purposes of AJAX refresh, pagination etc.)
    A similar situation was discussed a long time ago. I'm rather surprised that Scott regarded it as a bug: the fact that it doesn't seem to have been "fixed" or have a bug number attached may indicate that the others on the APEX team disagreed with him? I haven't tried the workaround he suggested, however I don't think it's likely to be prove a useful line of attack for your issue, as (1) it resets pagination rather than preserving it; and (2) it doesn't appear to be compatible with the AJAX PPR pagination used in more recent versions of APEX.
    I can't see any straightforward "solution" (largely because I don't think there's really a problem: the exhibited behaviour is exactly how I expect/want global regions to behave). Pagination processing is undocumented. The current 4.2 apex.widget.report.paginate JS method is specifically annotated as "for internal use only". Search the forum for custom pagination techniques. Messy looking hacks for IRs have previously been suggested.
    So if I'm looking at rows (11-20) on page 1, I can go to any other page beginning with rows 1-10 there.  Then return to page 1 where I left off with rows 11-20 displayed.  One solution is NOT to paginate but that's not my preferred solution.
    Assuming that there aren't too many pages involved, the other obvious option is to create unique regions on the required pages. You can achieve some level of reusability by creating SQL Query (PL/SQL function body returning SQL query) reports based on an external function so that there's only a single SQL source to be maintained.
    Explain the requirement in more detail. Pagination is not the only option for reducing the quantity of displayed information. Often it's better to display some of all of the data, rather than all of some of it...

    I know two companies that offer JSF component for table pagination and sorting and AJAX based :
    http://www.teamdev.com/quipukit/demo/datatable/DataTable_filteringAndPaging.jsf
    http://java.samples.infragistics.com/NetAdvantage/JSF/2006.1/
    The problem? They are not open source..
    And I am too looking forward on this subject, because I want to develop my own custom component and add some features. If someone has any tips, references or samples of their own, it would be really appreciated.
    Thank you.

  • AJAX problems

    I have a global select list (self submit) on page #0 in my application. I have a bulk update form on page #2. This bulk update form on page #2 has editable fields and a link also. This link on the bulk update form is programmed to show a AJAX report. This AJAX report is pulled from page #3 onto page #2 using Carl's example. Here are some of the problems that I'm having, any help is really appreciated.
    Problem # 1
    When I click on the url link in page #2, the AJAX report is pulled properly from page #3, but the pagination on the AJAX report does not work, the error message is "undefined"
    Problem #2
    When the AJAX report is displayed and I try to change select list (self submit) on page #0 to refresh the bulk update form on page #2, the ajax report generates the following error.
    Error      Item ID (1958808806097753) is not an item defined on the current page.
    Problem # 3
    I'm trying to set "Display as Text" field from the same link in bulk update form. I have set the target to "URL" in the report attributes and called the javascript. It sets the value in session, but does not show the latest value on the screen for the field. The same javascript code works "onChange" for a select field to set the field, but not for a link the report, any ideas are appreciated.
    thanks,
    Surya

    Hello,
    Yeah see you had two separate issues.
    first issue:
    When I try to change the pagination, it gives "undefined error";The problem with this is that the pagination is using page 8 when the report is from page 9. We are going to be enhancing this in 4.0 so this won't be a problem. You have a couple solutions.
    1. Disable Pagination and just return all the rows.
    2. Rewrite the javascript function that does the pagination so that it points at page 9 , include this in your page. This will break the pagination for any other reports on this page but will enable it for the report that you are pulling from page 9.
    function $a_report(pId,pMin,pMax,pFetched,pSort){
       lThis = $u_js_temp_drop();
       var lOld = $x('report_'+pId+'_catch');
       lOld.id = 'report_'+pId+'_catch_old';
           old code
           var l_URL = 'p='+$v('pFlowId')+':'+$v('pFlowStepId')+':'+$v('pInstance')+':FLOW_PPR_OUTPUT_R'+pId+'_';
        var l_URL = 'p='+$v('pFlowId')+':9:'+$v('pInstance')+':FLOW_PPR_OUTPUT_R'+pId+'_';
       if(!!pSort){l_URL += pSort+'::RP&fsp_region_id='+pId;}
       else{l_URL += 'pg_R_'+pId+':NO&pg_max_rows='+pMax+'&pg_min_row='+pMin+'&pg_rows_fetched='+pFetched;}
       var ajax = new htmldb_Get(null,null,null,null,null,'f',l_URL);
       var gReturn = ajax.get();
       lThis.innerHTML = gReturn;
       lOld.innerHTML = $x('report_'+pId+'_catch').innerHTML;
       lOld.id = 'report_'+pId+'_catch';
       lThis.innerHTML = '';
       return;
    Second issue:
    when change the global select list at the top and the error is "Error Item ID (4571613207429374406) is not an item defined on the current page."This problem was because you were pulling a hidden form item in with your report content from for page 9 "P9_JOB Hidden and Protected", this will always break your page. You should either use an Application Level item or make sure to strip the form item out. I fixed your page by moving the Form Item to a new region and moving that region to region position one. Since that content gets clipped out your fine and it doesn't break.

    Finally when pulling reports from another page you want to make sure that the highlighting options are turned off because it's trying to run javascript that is not in the page and throws errors.
    I've made all three of these fixes in your application so you can see them running.
