ALBPM 5.7, connecting to embedded cloudscape db

Hello!
I try to add a new dashboard to my project and -as far as I understand- to display some data I have retrieve them from the embedded cloudspace database.
First I would like to see how the data is stored, so I try to connect with an sql client to the db, but I cannot find any reference how to do this (url, user, password). Can you tell me pls how to do this?
Thanks.
Andras

Andras,
In order to connect to the cloudscape DB you need to use the following URL:
jdbc:cloudscape:<PATH TO YOUR PROJECT>/system/studioDB;create=true
you need to include the driver jar in your DB client (this jar comes with the 5.7 distro and is located in <PATH TO YOUR 5.7 HOME>\studio\lib\cs.jar).
user: root
password: root
The data used by the dashboards are stored inside the tables with prefix BAM_
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Ignacio

  • In the ReportDocument.Load method it tries to connect using the using the connection information embedded in the Report File

    Post Author: bhaveshbusa
    CA Forum: Crystal Reports
    In the ReportDocument.Load method it tries to connect using the using the connection information embedded in the Report File. When the application calls ReportDocument.Load(reportFileName). This
    tries to connect to the database using the connection information embedded in
    the "reportFileName". This was only realised on checking the ODBC Trace
    Log. The connection itself is not a problem. The problem is that the embedded
    connection information is related to OLD production system. And failed
    connections had raised some concerns.
    Note: I am using
    SetDataSource to populate the data for the report. So I don't need the
    connection.
    Is there any way I
    can disable this auto-connect?
    Thanks and
    regards,

    I need a help in answering one of the issue encountered last week.
    I have created a database link and tried to access the information from a table using the program written in another language. The password provided was incorrect for that user while creating database link. So we expected that,while retrieving the data, Database connection has to be errored out as password provided is incorrrect.
    But unfortunately, user account was locked out. When i checked with DBAs they mentioned that it tries to connect 16 ports with in a min of time.we were shocked as it STOPS another scheduled jobs with that user. and affects production badly.
    As per the program, it has to connect only one time and yesterday we tried to execute the program in DBAs observation and it errored out as expected. Didn't tried for multiple ports.
    Now the question is, WHY the database connection established 16 times last week and caused user account locked. DBAs are unable to answer it. Any EXPERTs opinion on this would greatly appreciated.
    I have verified managing ports in oracle documentation, it was mentioned that if one port is busy it will try to connect to another port in the range of ports mentioned during the installtion. DBAs verified ports related file and it was blank. and they are not agreeing with this reason. Please HELP me in finding the correct REASON for this.
    is it a NETWORK issue or issue with DATABASE SERVER only?
    Thanks

  • Database connection using embedded driver

    I have a small application that relies on data stored in an underlying Java DB database. If I use the following to connect to the database, the application works:
    derbyclient.jar in the main class CLASSPATH
    public static final String DRIVER_NAME = "org.apache.derby.jdbc.ClientDriver";
    public static final String DATABASE_URL = "jdbc:derby://localhost:1527/UnitConverters";
    BUT...if I use the embedded driver, it does not work:
    derby.jar in the main class CLASSPATH
    public static final String DRIVER_NAME = "org.apache.derby.jdbc.EmbeddedDriver";
    public static final String DATABASE_URL = "jdbc:derby:UnitConverters";
    The error I get when I try using the embedded driver is: java.sql.SQLException: Database 'UnitConverters' not found.
    Here's what I'm using to connect to the database (for both scenarios):
    public void init() {
    try {
    Class.forName(DRIVER_NAME);
    myConnection = DriverManager.getConnection(DATABASE_URL,"user","pass");
    } catch (SQLException ex) {
    ex.printStackTrace();
    } catch (ClassNotFoundException ex) {
    ex.printStackTrace();
    Thanks in advance for your help,
    Greg.

    Yes, there was. I've been trying examples and
    googling for a couple of days now, and I can't get it
    to work. Thanks for your help, though--at least I got
    a different error message this time! ;)Try this, it is a sample I used to get connected in embedded mode.
    import java.sql.Connection;
    import java.sql.DriverManager;
    import java.sql.SQLException;
    import java.util.Properties;
    public class DatabaseConnection {
        private String driver = "org.apache.derby.jdbc.EmbeddedDriver";
        private String protocol = "jdbc:derby:";
        public static void main(String[] args) {
              new DatabaseConnection();
        private DatabaseConnection() {
             try{
                   Class.forName(driver).newInstance();
                 Connection conn = null;
                 Properties props = new Properties();
                 props.put("user", "user1");
                 props.put("password", "user1");
                 conn = DriverManager.getConnection(protocol +
                         "derbyDB;create=true", props);
                 System.out.println("Connected to and created database derbyDB");
                 conn.setAutoCommit(false);
             } catch (SQLException e) {
             } catch (InstantiationException e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
              } catch (IllegalAccessException e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
              } catch (ClassNotFoundException e) {

  • Connection to Embeded Database from Crystal Reports XI

    I am writing an application that uses a SQL Server Mobile Database.  I have not been able to determine how to connect to this database through Crystal Reports.
    1.  Is it possible?
    2.  How do I provide the connection string that uses only 2 parameters?
    Gene

    When you create a DSN the ODBC string expects information for Server, Database, Username, and Password.  When you are working with an Embedded Database, typically you have a filename and a password (which can be null).  I was not able to create a DSN for this connection.
    What I have been able to get working is the following:
    1.  Create an ADO DataSet Object within the application.
    2,  Create the CR attaching ot the DataSet Object.
    3.  In the application code where you are attaching the CR to a viewer you must
          a.  Define a Data Adaptor for the DataSet.
          b.  Define a Data Table and load the table from the DataSet GetData() method.
          c.  Define the full path to the report file.
          d.  Define a ReportDocument Object
          e.  Load the report path in the the ReportDocument Object
          f.  Define the DataTable as the Data Source to the ReportDocument Object
          g. Define the Viewer ReportSource as the ReportDocument Object.
    I have been able to use this approach on 3 separate reports and returned the correct data.  A lot of steps, but it is working.

  • Petstore - unable to connect to embedded LDAP Server

    I have installed the Petstore 1.3.1 02 demo on a Weblogic 8.1 server on Windows XP. After running the Configuration wizard, when trying to start the PetStore Administration Sever using the startPetStoreWebLogic.cmd file, I receive the following error message:
    The WebLogic Server did not start up properly.
    weblogic.security.spi.ProviderInitializationException: [Security:090314]Entitlement Engine unable to connect to the embedded LDAP server
    netscape.ldap.LDAPException: error result (50)
    An LDAPException with error result 50, according to the API Specification, means insufficient access rights, but as I am doing everything according to the readme, I don't know what the problem is.
    Has anybody had the same problem or knows what to do to solve this?
    Thanks very much!

    Hi,
    By removing the encrypted 'Credential' for the
    EmbeddedLDAP entry in config.xml workaround it,
    it went on but the real problem is with the
    deployment of the 4 ears inside applications dir.
    Would appreciate of anyone could enlighten.

  • How to connect to embedded POSTGRESQL on Mac OSX Lion Server

    Hi all,
    I've upgraded my Mac OSX 10.6 server to 10.7 server 2 days ago.
    My web sites databases are still under MySQL server cause it's still running after the upgrade.
    I manage to migrate the databases to PostgreSQL, so i've enabled the wiki from the server.app to launch the PostgreSQL server.
    I can see that it's now running through a ps -ef | grep sql and that it's listening on the unix domain socket 5432 with netstat -an | grep SQL in a terminal shell.
    The problem is that I'am unable to connect to it.
    I tried psql -U postgres, and installed the Navcat for postgreSQL Lite, but they failed to connec to the database server twith the same error :
    psql: could not connect to server : Permission Denied
    Is the server running locally and accepting connections on Unix domain socket "/var/pgsql_socket/.s.PGSQL.5432"?
    It seems that there is a permission problem on the Unix Domain Socket /var/pgsql_socket/.s.PGSQL.5432.
    It has a 0770 permission on it, but i don't know if it's relly the problem.
    I've compared with MySQL server, which I am able to manage through Navcat for MySQL Lite without any problem, and the socket permission are 0777 on /var/mysql/mysql.sock.
    Does somebody able to connect to the embedded PostgreSQL server ?
    Or am I doing something wrong ?
    Thanks.

    Thanks for your replies.
    I was able to connect but not from navcat
    sudo -u _postgres psql template1 (or your database name)
    I am able to connect using this command too
    1. Need to add yourself or the account accessing the database to Postgres Users group (use admin tools)
    So I agree that I have to add my user to the _postgres user group, but how do you did ?
    Using the admin tools, I did not find this Postgres Users group ?
    I don't understand why server's administrators are not members of this group already ...
    2. Create a role on database login in as _posgres
    Ok, I will do.
    3. To login in navcat you need to check socket to /var/pgsql_socket
    OK, I've already set the socket in Navcat to /var/pgsql_socket
    4. I was unable to enable TCP connection yet
    I am unable to enable it too. I tried to modify the config files in /var/pgsql, without success.
    I have no firewall on my server too, it's protected by my router's firewall and NAT.
    Thanks again for your help.

  • Connection to embedded OC4J

    i have tried all the configuration options to make the connection with the embedded OC4J. i don't know if it's a pb of a location of OC4J folder or WebDAV files ...
    SOS to all users of JDeveloper, help me !

    Assuming you are using Oracle9i JDeveloper try the configuration steps in the reviewer's guide that is available from OTN at:

  • Can I upload a Captivate course to Connect AFTER embedding Edge animations through App Packager?

    I would like to include animations I've created in Edge Animate and the App Packager makes this pretty easy. However, afterward I have an HTML course that I can't seem to upload to Connect. When I ZIP it up I'm told by Connect that it's an invalid format. Also, when I export a Captivate course as a zipped HTML course, uploading it to Connect works, but the spinning loader shows indefinitely.

    So in case anyone comes across this post with the same question, I found out a way to sort of do this. I still couldn't figure out how to upload the ZIP to Connect properly, but I was able to use the Web Object Interaction and load up the HTML output of Edge Animate. It's just a folder with a bunch of files and an index file. All you do is choose the top-level folder, resize your interaction to fit, and everything works out well! No need to use the App Pakcager, and animations can be inserted any time while you're creating your project.

  • Jdeveloper 11g TP4: Connection refused error for Embedded Oc4j

    Hi,
    I am getting following error whenever trying to deploy any application in embedded oc4j or whenever try to connect with embedded server on Resource palette.
    Error while getting remote MBeanServer for url: ormi://127.0.0.1:23891/default:
    Error reading application-client descriptor: Error communicating with server: Connection refused: connect; nested exception is:
         javax.naming.CommunicationException: Connection refused: connect [Root exception is java.net.ConnectException
    I am using Jdeveloper 11g TP 4 on windows XP.
    I have checked other links too related to above error and have checked following:
    Proper host name entry in host file
    No spaces in Jdveleoper installed directory name
    Proxy setting in Jdeveloper: excluded localhost and ip address
    Will be very thankful if anyone can help me to resolve this issue.
    Thanks in advance

    Don't spend to much time on this. JDev 11g is production and there will be no OC4J 11g!

  • Connecting to Cloudscape

    Hi,
    I'm just wondering whether it's possible to run the full version of cloudscape database downloaded from www.cloudscape.com on a separate machine from the Sun's Reference Implementation of J2EE Server. If this is possible, what are the configurations please? I know that this architecture should be possible but somehow I could not do it on my machine.
    Problems that I've encountered in the first place is how do I start Cloudscape database... I think that the documentation that accompanies this database has not been well prepared definitely. Secondly, how do I modify the resources.properties file in the J2EE server so that it will connect to the Cloudscape database running on another machine?
    I hope that someone can enlighten me.
    Regards,
    Gary

    Hi,
    static String driver = "COM.cloudscape.core.JDBCDriver";
    static String protocol = "jdbc:cloudscape:";
    String title, leadActor, leadActress, type, dateOfRelease;
    Connection connection;
    Statement statement;
    public void initialize() throws SQLException, ClassNotFoundException {
    Class.forName(driver);
    connection = DriverManager.getConnection(protocol
    + "Movie2;create=true");
    This is an example of the code that is required, and you have to ensure that all the four cloudscape jar files are on the classpath before it does the business.
    Hope this helps

  • How to use cloudscape server with imq plugin persistent

    I succeed using embbed cloudscape to use JDBC plugin persistent store.
    I found that the messge sending performance is acceptable(
    20000 messages/27minutes), but the asynch message receiving is quite slow(20000message/82minutes).(My environment is a P4 256MRAM nodebook)
    Now i am trying to use a standalone cloudscape server to serve as JDBC persisten.
    but I fail to use imqdbmgr to create imqdb.
    however, I can use cloudscape ij to create imqdb
    at local machine using JDBC URL" jdbc:cloudscape:imqdb".
    This cloudscape is provided by J2ee1.4 package.
    but I failed while using following property in imq's config.properties
    imq.persist.jdbc.opendburl=jdbc:cloudscape:d:/j2sdkee1.4/bin/imqdb
    imqdbmgr report
    "Failed to get connection to jdbc:cloudscape:d:/j2sdkee1.4/bin/imqdb;create=true:"
    any one can help to figure out the probem

    You need to check the cloudscape documentation and find out
    1. the JDBC driver class to use and set imq.persist.jdbc.driver
    2. the url to access a database managed by the server and set
         imq.persist.jdbc.opendburl
    The url shown in your mail is a format for the embedded version.
    I believe the format for accessing a database managed by a server
    is different. Please check the cloudscape documentation.
    Since your database is created and managed by a server, you use
    "imqdbmgr create tbl" to just create the tables used by MQ (after
    the above properties are set correctly).
    Hope this helps.

  • SharePoint 2013 - PowerPivot - The following connections failed to refresh.

    Thanks for taking a look. I have tried countless blogs and other forum posts and can't seem to resolve this.
    I am working on SP2013 with SQL Server 2012 in a single farm environment. My domain is on another VM.
    I am using interactive refresh. (Click Data > Refresh All Connections) from the PP Workbook in SharePoint.
    The connection is embedded.
     I am getting the error "We were unable to refresh one or more data connections in this workbook. The following connections failed to refresh: (Name of my connection). The connection is using windows authentication
    What I have tried:
    I have checked ULS Logs, nothing showing up unfortunately.
    I checked local system messages on server, nothing there.
    I changed both the PowerPivot and Excel Services application pools to run under Domain\Administrator
    I changed both the PowerPivot and Excel Services unattended accounts to run under Domain\Administrator
    Ran IISReset command from windows powershell.
    Restarted SSAS Services
    Verified the Server was registered in Excel Services (Data Model Settings)
    Verified that data refresh was enabled on the PowerPivot workbook at the site collection level.
    In central administration I set the business hours to 6am - 8am for data refresh so this would not be an issue.
    I verified that the Secure Store Service is started in central administration
    I have also ran SQL Server Profiler and all I see is this error, i'm not even sure it's related. Searching the error hasn't helped:
    "The commit or rollback request cannot be completed because there is no active transaction in this session."
    I verified that Claims to Windows Token Service is running in central administration.
    I've tried editing the workbook connection to use specified accounts as well. When I do that I get the following error:
    An error occurred while accessing application id SP2013\Administrator from the Secure Store Service. The following connections failed to refresh: (My connection name).
    Any help or direction would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    did you try below technet guide?
    Unable to refresh data for a data connection in the workbook. Try again or contact your system administrator. The following connections failed to refresh: PowerPivot Data
    also check this guy:

    Are you using the office web apps?

  • Override databse connection in CR Server 11

    Post Author: NickT
    CA Forum: Data Connectivity and SQL
    We have a report which calls a stored procedure with parmaters using SLQ Server 2000. One of the parameters is an indicator for an update. The stored procedure is structured as follows
    UpdateYN as char(1)
    Exec SP1 -- updates the database
    Do other stuff
    If UpdateYN = N
       Exec SP2 -- reverses update in SP1 above
    Else
      Exec SP3  -- Updates the database again
    When the database connection is embedded in the report and run from the server, or run from the development environemnt, it works fine. If the connection is overridded in CR server 11, even if the connection is the same as the one in the report, the update fails and presents no error.
    Is this a bug and is there awork around other than NOT using the connection override in CR server 11.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    you can start the Jdev by command line and then see the log that it is generating. Maybe there you can see the problem that is happening.
    Also you can check if the server is running with
         telnet hostname 7001
    Some possible reasons
         you have a firewall blocking the connection
         did you check /etc/hosts file entry ? should be something like this <ip address of host > hostname1
    Cheers
    Augusto
