Alert warning
Hello everyone,
So I'm having issues handling the commands of an alert of type warning. I want to allow a warining screen whenever DELETE or UNREGISTER is clicked.
Below is a snippet of my code.
Problem is when I click on CANCEL, the program goes on to DELETE/UNREGISTER regardless.
And when I click on OK, it continues with the action (DELETES/UNREGISTERS) but then produces a ClassCastException error immediately after.
public void commandAction(Command c, Displayable d){
if(c==ok){
System.out.println("ok pressed");
//do nothing else return to where you were called from
if (c== cancel){
//return to original screen
display.setCurrent(czUI);
System.out.println("cancel pressed");
else if (c != null){
try{
if (c==unregister){
warnDisplay("UNREGISTER will discard service. Do you wish to continue?");//this creates an Alert of type warning with the string parameter
warn.setCommandListener(this);
display.setCurrent(warn););//set display to warning
//continue if OK is clicked on warning screen
//if OKed GO ON TO UNREGISTER, since OK is a NOP
System.out.println("abt to delete in cache");
cache.removeElementAt(selectedIndex);
System.out.println("deleted from cache");
if (c==refresh){
warnDisplay("REFRESH will COMPLETELY discard all foreign services. Do you wish to continue?");
warn.setCommandListener(this);
display.setCurrent(warn);//set display to warning
//continue if OK is clicked on warning screen
//if OKed GO ON TO DELETE SINCE OK is a NOP
cache.removeAllElements();
refreshCache();
//print out what's in cache
cacheDisplay(czUI);
}catch(RecordStoreException e){
errorDisplay("Unable to locate service locally");
public void warnDisplay(String s){
warn = new Alert("Warning: ", s, null, AlertType.CONFIRMATION);
warn.addCommand(ok);
warn.addCommand(cancel);
warn.setTimeout(Alert.FOREVER);
Many many thanks in advance,
Hi,
The reason may be because you have not put return statement after checking if c==ok.
after printing "ok pressed" it then checks if(c != null) which is true and hence calls the function cacheDisplay(czUI);
Put all the IF blocks in if..else
Prabhu.

The Code (SSLSocketFactory, Trustmanager) I used is except for my specific adoptions to connect to a smtp-server, I used from http://www.javaworld.com/javatips/jw-javatip115.html.
Does anybody have an Idea what went wrong. Is there a problem with Certificates? The supplier of the smtp-server said, that there is no need for a certificate on the client side, although they cant suppress the server to ask for one.I get an error when trying to use the "-keyArg RSA" argument with the keytool. Can you elaborate on how to use this argument? Bellow is the command to import my Certificate.
keytool -import -alias verisign001 -file verisign001.cer -
Hi all,
I need to do the client authentication while client is connecting to the server.
I am using netscape server 4.1 sp 9. & i have turned on the client authentication req. I have installed the server certificate and ca root in the server.
i have imported client certificate & ca root certificate in keystore using keytool for my client.
then using the java program, i am trying to access the index page of the server. But i am getting the error like
"main, SEND SSL v3.0 ALERT: warning, description = no_certificate"

EM Alert: Warning:+ASM Disk Group requires rebalance
Environment:
O.S Version : HP-UX B.11.31 U ia64
Oracle DB Version : 11.2.0.3.0 , Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production
Database files are on : ASM Disk Group
It is about the ASM Diskgroup low disk space alert by Oracle Enterprise Manager.
Message=Disk Group DG_FLASH_01 requires rebalance because at least one disk is low on space.
Metric=Disk Minimum Free (%) without Rebalance
Metric value=18.961548
Disk Group Name=DG_FLASH_01
Severity=Warning
Target Name=+ASM_dbsrver.siva.com
Target type=Automatic Storage Management
There is only 1 LUN assigned to this diskgroup +DG_FLASH_01_.
We have a Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control Job MN_DBSRVR_DEL_ARCHIVELOGS runs every 12 hours by 1 AM and again at 1PM daily. It cleans-up the archivelogs older than 3 days old. The FLASH diskgroup is continuously being written with new files for both archivelogs and flashback logs.
If there was multiple disks and a vast difference between the files on the different LUNs then a rebalance would be good to run.
How to address such recurring alert of " *Disk Group DG_FLASH_01 requires rebalance because at least one disk is low on space*. " with _only one LUN on the +ASM Diskgroup_?As I stated earlier there is only one disk on this diskgroup

Alert/Warning messages from PL/SQL process
Hi all,
I have a PL/SQL process that I execute from javascript : doSubmit(MY_PROCESS). I want to output an alert box if some errors occurs in the process, for instance : alert('message'). Does anyone know how to do that ?
Best regards,
Othman.Thanks Andy for the reply.
My process executes "after submit", so I cannot call directly the javascript as one mentioned. The call to "html_Get" seems to be quite complicated for a simple alert message which is not really a Application process shared component.
So I'll go for a solution where users won't see error messages ...
Best regards,
Othman. -
Alert warning - Can't contact spell checker
Does any one else have this problem when using Pages? The alert notice comes up on the screen repeatedly and then causes Pages to freeze. It is most frustrating. I have reloaded iWorks, downloaded all the update but nothing seems to change. Help any one please.....
Welcome to Apple Discussions
This was a frequent topic when iWork '08 was first released. It is related to third-party spell checkers such as SpellCatcher. If they haven't been updated to the newest versions, this error comes up, especially when opening Word documents.
If you have SpellCatcher or another spell checker installed, I would just try disabling it first & see if the problem goes away. If it doesn't, do a Spotlight search for "spell" & see what comes up. Trash anything that looks like it belongs to a third-party spell checker & restart your Mac. -
Alert Email notification for Log file alerts
Hi,
Scenario: SCOM 2012 R2 UR4.
There are created unix/linux log file monitoring objects. In SCOM console I can view alerts related to unix/linux log file monitoring. Email notification is: Warning or Critical for severity, and, Medium or High for priority. The alerts for unix/linux log
file are severity warning and priority medium.
In my inbox there are emails for alerts (Warning or Critical for severity, and, Medium or High for priority) except for unix/linux monitoring.
The question is:
How to enable email notification for unix/linux log file monitoring?
Thanks in advance!Hello,
If you go into the "Subscription" in the Notifications section of the Operations Console\Administration, you should be able to see the Description of the subscription criteria. Could you copy paste that in a reply?
Thanks,
Kris

How to clear the alerts in Grid
Hi,
Grid version : 10.2.0.5
1)I would like to clear the alerts older than two days in grid.
We are monitoring more than 500DB's in grid.Is there any procedure to remove the alerts ?
2)How to clear or reduce the "All Targets Policy Violations" in grid.
3)How to clear or reduce the "Security Policy Violations" in grid.
Please need your help on this.
Thanks.Open your Grid Control Console
Go to Alerts --> Warning
Select database and press go
You will see that the Clean button appear and checkbox for each warning alert that its possible manual clean you will see the checkbox to activate
The Critical Alerts can't clean manualy.
OR
1. Make a SELECT * from MGMT_CURRENT_SEVERITY and show for the TARGET_GUID, METRIC_GUID and KEY_VALUE.
2. Connect to db user SYSMAN and execute:
exec EM_SEVERITY.delete_current_severity(TARGET_GUID,METRIC_GUID,KEY_VALUE);
for example:
exec EM_SEVERITY.delete_current_severity('0DEB8E6980695B7548CF98871084AD10','F95BA0D95585002889E1ABF92B2DA7C3','SYS');
3. Wait a few minutes.
The content of the MGMT_CURRENT_SERVERITY table is displayed as ALERTS or ADDITIONAL ALERTS in EMs main menu. If you delete the ALERTS only in the MGMT_CURRENT_SEVERITY table, the alert messages appears still in some EM submenus. -
Why did I get an Emergency Alert for the Nemo Blizzard at 4 am?
This @^%^!*#*!&!@ system just sent a blaring alert to my iPhone at 4 am EST warning me about a blizzard I already knew about, literally scaring me out of bed. Now, after some middle-of-the-night research, I understand it's the FEMA IPAWS system (http://www.fema.gov/integrated-public-alert-warning-system). What bureaucratic knucklehead at FEMA decided that we needed this alert at 4 am?
I wonder how many thousands of other iPhone users who didn't even know they had the Emergency Alerts feature are wondering why they've been jostled awake this morning... and have turned the feature off as a result. (Settings==>Notifications==>Government Alerts)
How impossibly stupid can FEMA be? Sending the message at 8 pm last night would have been amusing (there were already 6 inches on the ground, and everyone had been talking about the storm for 2 days). Now I want to rip someone's lungs out...
Apple, is this the right way for me to find out about some obscure little feature that was included in a recent release - turned on?Actually, I also got a FEMA warning via the same system on Thursday night, which was completely appropriate. But sending an alert with a klaxon-like sound effect at 4 am is just ponderously dumb. It's not like it's a flood where I might need to evacuate. I'M AT HOME ASLEEP like the thousands of others who were jolted awake by this ill-timed alert.
It reminds me of when AT&T used to wake me at 7 am on Saturday mornings because their big overnight mainframe batch program had completed at 6 am and immediately sent out a notice that I was 60% through my hours for the month. Nice message, dumb timing.
Big organizations like FEMA and AT&T should be capable of assessing the time-criticality of their broadcast messages, and schedule them appropriately. Who at FEMA decided that it was critical to issue a warning in the middle of the night?!?! -

OEM12c Configuring alerts for normal condition
Hi All,
I want to configure OEM12c so that i should get alerts even for normal condition of the host machines.
i.e i want OEM to send alerts saying target system is alive and working properly. please let me know how to do it or point me to the document which helps me.
Thank youThis is turning the essence of monitoring upside down. In EM you will get an warning/alert if an abnormal situation occurs. Hence, if you do not get an alert/warning everything is normal. Seems to me something like phoning home every half hour to ask if the house has not burned down yet.

Sending alerts from grid control to tivoli tec
Hi Guys
We are working on a requirement where we want to integrate grid control 11g with Tivoli Tec which in turn is connected to our helpdesk ticketing and monitoring system.
Has anyone done this before? Any note, doc will be helpful.
ThankyouHi
First. You must to understatn that each metric had a interval time for each recopilation. Check your database target --> Metrics and Policy issues --> Invalid objects by schema or Total invalid objects count
These metrics have a interval of 24 hours (this is my situation) Check your situation and change the interval. After these you see that the information change in your OMS.
For see the clean button
Open your Grid Control Console
Go to Alerts --> Warning
Select database and press go
You will see that the Clean button appear and checkbox for each warning alert that its possible manual clean you will see the checkbox to activate
The Critical Alerts can't clean manualy. The GC clean the alert when the situation change.
You can see the evolution in the metric values it you select the alert
