Frame for displaying various items?

I have a web page that displays an image in one layer and
it's associated article in another layer below it. There are links
to other articles to the right of this.
I would like to be able to select the link to another article
and have the new image and new article display in the same window.
Can someone help point me in the right direction?

Thanks Paul. Could I get a bit more clarification? I've never
used frames in DreamWeaver.
What I'm picturing is that there will be one large layer with
two nested layers. The first nested layer will be located at the
top which will accommodate the photo. The other nested layer will
be below the photo and will accommodate the text (article).
Off to the right of the main layer will be the links to the
other articles. My first concern is that the links only show the
article not the associated photo so how do I pull the new article
into the main layer and also bring in the associated photo above
it?
I realize I haven't once mentioned frames but I'm assuming
they come into play here somehwere and I don't know how to create
them. Can you step me through it?

I am having a display only item -- :P2_FROM_Date . If its Thu,Fri,Sat or Sun I want to set the date as the last Monday's date . If its Mon,Tue or Wed then it should be the present Monday's date .
E.g: Today is Friday and the last Monday was on 18th .
So for yesterday , today,tomorrow and Sunday , the date should be displayed as 18-JUN-2012.
From the coming Monday to Wednesday , the date should of be the coming Monday i.e , 24-JUN-2012
I tried it doing under 'Source ' of item using PL/SQL expression and PL/SQL function body. Not working

when you open your 'Downloads' folder choose 'View' in the Menu bar and choose:
'as List'
'Show View Options'
In 'View options' window you tick:
'Always open in list view'
'Date Modified', or
'Date created'
Now inside the 'Downloads' folder click on 'Date Created' (or 'Date Modified')
column to get items alined from oldest to newest date (or reverse)…

Display of icons in the items of dropdownListBox for a single item

How to force Portal not to display item content for a custom item

Hi,
I've read in several places questions about rendering an Item in a custom way, without letting portal
display the item content, if you read along I've discovered a SIMPLE WAY to force portal not to
display the content item.
As per bugs and requests on metalink it seemed that in many versions of Oracle Portal (mine is 9.0.4.1)
this is impossible, since even if we remove the "Item Content" from the list of displayed attributes in the
region, Portal does display it anyway, just after every other Attribute.

- Metalink BUG # 3998251 "ENH: SHOULD BE ABLE TO HIDE "ITEM CONTENT" FOR TEXT ITEMS OR NEED A NEW ITEM TYP" and is being looked into internally whether it is feasible to include this in future releases.

Mine scenario was the usual one:
-oracle portal 9.4.0.1
-a custom item based on custom text (so as to have the RTE to edit HTML).
-A few attributes that help me define the class of an enclosing DIV tag that I wanted to put (a class and an ID)
-A plsql call associated to the custom item, with the flag "display inline" checked
-The dirty HTML generated by the built-in Oracle RTE (with BODY and HTML tags enclosing the actual HTML)
-The region that will contain the item is set so that just the "Function Call" is (or should be) displayed
I wanted to control entirely the display of the item text, while enclosing it in a custom DIV tag.
After a few tries, one of which involved forcing an HTML comment around the item content that Portal stubbornly
displayed, I've discovered this simple way. I don't know hom much this way is portable, but is done entirely with the APIs.
In the stored procedure that displays the item, that I encolose, i just do:
1) retrieved the ITEM querying WWSBR_ALL_ITEMS;
2) updated the ITEM via WWSBR_API.MODIFY_ITEM, passing as display_otpion the value WWSBR_API.FULL_SCREEN!!
Here I try a little explanation:
An item just created has FULLSCREEN=1 and INPLACE=0. This way the stored procedure is executed
AND the item content is displayed.
WIth the modify_item, the item gets FULLSCREEN=1 and INPLACE=2 !! This seems strange since the docs
tells that inplace can be 0 or 1. But this works.
I've played with the WWV_THINGS table directlry, and setting INPLACE to 0, 2 or 3 works as well, while
if it is set to 1, it behave the usual way.
The trick is to have FULLSCREEN to 1 while INPLACE is not set to 1.. and this was the easiest solution.
I'd like to receive a feedback from Oracle regarding this behaviour.

I implemented a form with report region in a page, the update works OK, but the add function has a problem:
There is a column, offender_ID, which is a foreign key for another table, it should not be null during insert. However, even I pass the offender ID from master page when user click the create button, and it did shows in the form, it must be a text filed to insert successfully, why cannot I use hidden or display only item to store this value for insert? (If I use hidden or display only item, insert won't be successful, apex reports I tried to insert a null value to offender_ID column.)

Display Only items have a "Setting" of "Save Session State" Yes/No? That can be a problem.
Would you do this? Make these items regular items instead and see if you can get those working. Then, we will try to change the fields back to hidden or display only.

IBE: Items Per Page for Display profile at Responsibility level

Hi,
we would like to have different number of items per page for different sites. We thought we would achieve it by setting profile "IBE: Items Per Page for Display" at the responsibility level and have unique responsibilities to access different sites.
However, I saw that by default profile "IBE: Items Per Page for Display" is not visible at the responsibility level. Can I alter it to be visible at responsibility level in the profile definition and then set it at the responsibility level?

Display REJECTED Item NET value Negative for Sales Order

If I am Rejecting an ITEM with Rejection reason then for that ITEM I want the NET value should be in Negative.
If i do the configuration OVAG and set the flag as Y/N then for that REJECTED ITEM the total will not be calculated at HEADER this is OK. but in ITEM NET value I want to display it as -ve. So is there any configuration for this?
