AlivePDF seems to flip image alond axis?

Hi,
In my flash file, I allow the user to rotate an image. After the image is rotated, the user can save the edited image as a PDF. I'm using AlivePDF for saves.
Here is the problem: If the user rotates in the X or Y, the pdf image looks flipped along the respective axis(for example, if I rotate in the X, the image looks like it rotated properly, but the perspective is reversed). If the rotation is in the Z, there is no issue. The event listeners are attached to slider components.
Here is an image to clarify-
My question: How can I get the image to render properly in the PDF?
Rotate Code:
//rotate logo around the X axis
logoRotX.text = "Rotate X: 0"
logoRotateX.value = 0;
logoRotateX.addEventListener(SliderEvent.CHANGE, logoRotateXPos);
function logoRotateXPos (event:SliderEvent): void
    logoRotX.text = "Rotate X: " + event.target.value;
    container.rotationX = event.target.value;
//rotate logo around the Y axis
logoRotY.text = "Rotate Y: 0"
logoRotateY.value = 0;
logoRotateY.addEventListener(SliderEvent.CHANGE, logoRotateYPos);
function logoRotateYPos (event:SliderEvent): void
    logoRotY.text = "Rotate Y: " + event.target.value;
    container.rotationY = event.target.value;
//rotate logo around the Z axis
logoRotateZ.value = 0;
logoRotateZ.addEventListener(SliderEvent.CHANGE, logoRotateZPos);
function logoRotateZPos (event:SliderEvent): void
    logoRotZ.text = "Rotate Z: " + event.target.value;
    container.rotationZ = event.target.value;
Save PDF code:
createPdfBTN.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, makePDF);
function makePDF(evt: MouseEvent)
var myPDF : PDF = new PDF (Orientation.PORTRAIT,Unit.INCHES, Size.LETTER);
myPDF.setDisplayMode(Display.FULL_PAGE);
myPDF.addPage();
// add a background image
var PDFsampleData: BitmapData = new BitmapData(BGContain.width, BGContain.height);
    PDFsampleData.draw(BGContain);
var PDFjpg:JPGEncoder = new JPGEncoder(100);
var PDFba:ByteArray = PDFjpg.encode(PDFsampleData);
var timesbold:IFont = new CoreFont(FontFamily.TIMES_BOLD);
myPDF.addImage(BGContain);
myPDF.setFont(timesbold, 12);
myPDF.addText("Disclaimer: This image is for visualization purposes only and is not a proof.",.5,10);
// save PDF
var fileReference:FileReference = new FileReference();
var pdfByteArray = myPDF.save(Method.LOCAL);
fileReference.save(pdfByteArray, 'Your Sample.PDF');

I fixed this by using ScaleX and ScaleY instead of rotateX and rotateY. Now, the PDF renders fine.

  • Intensity Chart X scale flip = image drift

    Hi all! When programming one application for measurement I encountered following problem. Because scanning in this measurement is performed at first from left to right and then immediately from right to left I write the data to intensity chart and when the end of scanning region is reached I flip the x axis and I write the chart history data into history of the chart but in reversed order . This creates the effect of preserving the image as it was during previous scan (only flipping itself without writing the reverse history would also cause flip of the already drew image).
    All seems to work smoothly but if you run it you see small drifting of the image when reaching the edges. On the right the image drifts to the left a bit and on the left to the right.
    What does it cause?
    Thx a lot.

    Hi and thanks again.
    Now I realized why Gerd didn't see anything - When testing different datasets I forgot to switch the 'transpose' to false. So please do it and then you will clearly see the shift - maybe focus on the white part in the middle of the picture.
    I am sorry for that inconvenient.
    For the same reason Altenbach we had totally different results of power consumption. The original data has 8001 dbls for one vector(not 100) which in your example results in really high CPU usage(around those 50%)
    My measurement with correct data (reading vi excluded, no delays):
    Mine: 60-70ms
    Yours without cursor: 1200ms
    Yours with cursor: 9200ms
    I am still trying to come with some logical explanation for the shifting because using the picture control seems to bring a lots of work and troubles

  • Does iPhoto flip images horizontally or is it my camera?

    As a Serious stamp collector, I am trying to scan all of my collection into iPhoto.
    (Only because there is NO dedicated software for the Stamp Collector).
    Problem is that images are flipped (Reversed) horizontally.
    Rotate will only turn the image upside down.
    I am forced to use (Preview, Photoshop, GraphicsConverter) to correct the pics.
    This seems to be a camera problem, as iPhoto and iChat images are FLIPPED.
    This fault could be easily fixed by simply adding a FLIP IMAGE BUTTON to iPhoto and iChat.
    My system uses a:
    1 yr old PowerBook 1.67 ghz 12in.
    OS X 10.4.6
    iPhoto v6.04
    Sony DCR-HC40 video camera using the Firewire option and from MemoryStick. ( I Haven't tried SONY USB or S-video output)
    Now that I wrote this post, I should give SONY a buzz and see what they recommend.
    Any Input on this subject is appreciated.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You're taking pictures of the stamps for inclusion into iPhoto and they are coming out reversed, right? You're not actually scanning them.
    Check all of the menus on the camera to see if there is an option to flip the image. It sounds like there should be one. Are normal photos flipped? Are you using a "macro" mode on the camera? Check those out to see if the answer is in there somewhere.

  • Flipping image left to right

    I am trying to flip photos left to right. I know how to rotate but can't seem to flip for mirror image. Any ideas?

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
    iPhoto won't do this. You'll need an external editor such as
    Photoshop Elements
    Graphic Coverter
    Acorn

  • Flipped Image

    When I run the isight camera in xp via bootcamp by double clicking the isight icon under my computer a screen pops up allowing me to take pictures with it. However, the image is flipped horizontally meaning when I move to the left I can see the image of myself moving to the right. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks.

    Nope, printing to a PDF "unflips" the image. And I get the same behavior printing to both my Epson photo printer and a Samsung laser printer. Not a huge deal, if I un-rotate the image and print, it prints flipped. Tried it with a recent digital (not scanned) image and got the same behavior. I discovered the "problem" after scanning a B&W negative taken back in 1973. I use an Epson V600 scanner and normally flip and rotate as part of the scanning process; however the scanner had problems determining the edges of the 35mm frame since it is a picture of a window surrounded in black. I had to resort to using the marquee and manually selecting the frame to scan. Doing so doesn't allow you to flip and rotate during the scan, so you have to do that in Aperture.
    Again, not a big deal as long as I know how to manage it. And I rarely flip images - only in the type of situation noted above. I almost would not have noticed it, except that I was comparing the inkjet print to a silver print I made of the negative back in the '70's.
    Thanks for all the suggestions to try and narrow this down, but I am perplexed that you do not seem to get the same behavior.

  • Flipping images in Aperture

    Is there a way to flip images like you can in Photoshop? I want to be able to flip certain images horizontally and vertically, but it doesn't appear that Aperture offers this function. I have been doing it with the external image editor, which I have set to Photoshop, but I would rather not do it that way since the newly saved image is a huge tiff file. Does anyone know if and how you can flip images?

    Go the adjustment hud or the inspector add a flip adjustment from the + menu.

  • Is there a way to flip the Y axis in Illustrators CC?

    I'm working on a project that can be plotted on a grid and I'm just wondering if its possible to flip the Y axis so that the positive numbers are going up and the negatives are going down.

    qwotis,
    If the link from Doug fails to do it, you may (hopefully) manually change the relevant preference settings as follows:
    0) Close down Illy (you can only change the preference file with Illy closed);
    1) Find and open the AIPrefs (Win speak) or Adobe Illustrator Prefs (Mac speak) file withe a text editor like Notepad or TextEdit; the preference file is a (hidden) file in the (hidden) folder Adobe Illustrator CS5 Settings
    2): Find and change the following two bits of code:
    /isRulerOriginTopLeft 1 >>> /isRulerOriginTopLeft 0 (change 1 to 0)
    /isRulerIn4thQuad 1 >>> /isRulerIn4thQuad 0 (change 1 to 0)
    This is a global change so you only have to do it once (just as you can undo it once).
    You may find the preference file here:

  • How do you flip image Horizontally

    I'm sure I'm looking right at it but can't find out how to flip an image Horz. I see rotate, but not flip.
    thks for help

    You can't flip horizontally in iPhoto. What I do is to export to the desktop and then open with the contextual menu item QuickView (you can get it at VersionTracker.com), rotate and save, and then import back into iPhoto. If you have a different 3rd party application that have flip images you could do that, even using it from within iPhoto by setting it up as your editor of choice for that particular item.

    I am trying to create a flipping image in a digital edition and I found from the cookbook that there is an HTML code.
    The problem is that when I am clicking on the attachment file "Flip_HTML.zip", appears a white page with a message FILE NOT FOUND.
    Is there any other solution for that?

    Thanks Liam. I am a newbie at all of this and decided to use the widget contact form in muse which has an image verification module but when I test it I get a message that it has to be supported business catalyst captcha module so thought there was a html code for it.

  • Flipping images produces a slight distortion

    I use the flip image feature occasionally but I noticed an unwanted side effect. An image that had been scaled to 34.1% of normal size proportionally changed to 34.1% x -34.2% after the transformation. It doesn't have any real visual effect, but it does set off false alarms in my preflight for a non-proportionally scaled image.
    It's always nice to preflight a document and see zero errors, as opposed to seeing a bunch of error that are (problably, maybe, hopefully) harmless.
    Any way to flip an image without triggering these false alarms? I could go into Photoshop and make a new file, but the resulting file clutter isn't a perfect solution either.
    Thanks,
    John

  • Flipped Images

    for some wierd reason every time that i drag and drop something to my desktop a folder called "flipped images" gets created on my desktop! but there is nothing in the folder.

    Did you happen to play about with folder actions? Ctrl-Click desktop & go to configure folder actions, see if theres anything about flipping images enabled in there

  • VC3 will not allow me to resize, crop, or flip images in Windows 7!  Possible Bug?

    I have tried adjusting images in VC3 with Windows XP and have had no problem. However, after testing this unsuccessfully in WIndows 7 with two different brands of computers, I am almost positive this is a bug with the new operating system. Adjusting PNG images however works perfectly so the JPG file format seems to be the issue.  Can anyone else that is using Windows 7 confirm whether adjusting JPG images (flipping, cropping, resizing, etc.) works for them in VC3?  There is simply no response from my program when I attempted these functions.  The image just stays in its default state.
    Adobe tech support was absolutely no help on this when I contacted them (what a joke).  I have been pulling my hair out over this issue for days now so I am desperate for an answer from anyone who uses this program with Windows 7.  Thank you in advance.

    Thank you for your quick reply, I am not running any kind of backup software at all, when I-Tunes is running, I can access all folders on my hard drive including the I-Tunes folders, but if I-Tunes does not open via the I-Tunes icon, I will get the timer displayed for about 20-30 secs, then nothing, and if I try to access the I-Tunes folders it will crash the explorer, but if I try to access any other folder before I try to access the I-Tunes folders, they will open without any problems.  It has got me totally puzzled and why should windows display a "remote............" error when just clicking on the computer option from the start menu, it is really all very strange!!

  • Can't seem to flip the landscape view when in email

    When my wife uses her ipad, the email shows in portrait and landscape BUT we have a keyboard and the landscape view needs to be flipped 180....all other apps seem to do this...any ideas?

    Hi Stan, thanks for the quick reply, I took your advice and did the build as an image and then burned the project at the recommended write speeds in Toast Titanium (10.0.9). The first burn was at 4x and the second was at 2x BD (an option in Toast) both speeds gave me the same result. It solved the issue with the freezing during disc playback, however, when I tried to navigate from chapter to chapter the disc, once again, freezes. Additionally, although it doesn't freeze during playback as with my previous burns, there's still slight skip at the same positions where there used to be a freeze.
    I'd be content at this point with the slight skip, but it's been one issue after another with these BluRay authoring projects. This is my first project switching from FCP and I've burned 11 Bluray discs on this project and still don't have a deliverable project that I can give to my client. Not what I was expecting from Encore. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Lightroom 1.2 flipped images horizontally

    I've noticed since my update that several Folders have the images flipped Horizontally. Anybody else have this problem? Any ideas for a fix other than manually selecting images in bunches and flipping back. PITA..
    On a Intel iMac.

    No, mostly from a Nikon D200 and I really don't use Bridge anymore. It only happened recently after the update in files I hadn't gone into before the update, so I'm assuming, though that's a big if with computer stuff, that it happened because of the update. I also don't have mirror enabled. In fact, honestly, I'm not sure what the mirror function is,but I haven't ever used it.
