All photos show the same icon until I enlarge them

While trying to organize my pictures, the icons for the pics all turned into the same photo. Once I enlarge the photo, it looks correct. How do I make the icon look like the picture?

What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later:
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the options to rebuild the thumbnails - in my experience this can take 3 or 4 goes.

Open Media Encoder and add your Sequences:
File > Add Premiere Pro Sequence
Navigate to your Premiere Project and select it in the list.
You can then select multiple Sequences from the Project (Ctrl+Click)
and load them all at once into Media Encoder and apply
the same encoding preset to all Sequences at the same time.

  • Renaming all photos at the same time

Hi - just had a quick question about organzing all your pictures. I have multiple folders from the same trip -- and want to have them all in one folder but cannot do this because I do not know how to rename the whole batch at once...ex: China (1), China (2), China (3)...like a batch change. Vista lets you do this by selecting all the photos (with different names) and right clicking then selecting "rename" this then allows an entire batch change of the highlighted photos.
I tried this with iphoto and it worked -- but when I tried to stick them into a folder it told me there were replicas, meaning the actual properties of the picture name didn't change outside of iphoto...
Does someone know how I can rename all my photos at once so I don't have folders with subfolders?
    Cheers.

There might also be free Automator actions of AppleScripts that can perform the same functions. Finally, there is a free product by Picture Studio called "QuickImageCM" that also performs the renaming function by means of a context-sensitive menu. Below are some relevant links:

  • All photos have the same date

I have a very weird problem with iPhoto 6. A while ago, all pictures showed up with the same date (2006-07-08). All pictures and all rolls show up with this date, even newly imported ones. The EXIF data is not the problem, because when I sort them by date, they are sorted right (still showing up the same date though). I tried rebuilding the database (holding down option-command at start up) but that didn't help. I've also tried deleting the iPhoto plist file, but that didn't work either.
I read in an old post here from last year that a guy had the same problem, however when he imported the images to another user, they showed up right. That makes me think there's some problem in the iPhoto preferences, but I'm not sure what preferences I can safely delete without making the program unusable.
    Any ideas?

Seems I got it from another thread here at the discussion boards. In the international preference panes under dates, it was set to custom. I changed it to the standard setting of my country and after that iPhoto displayed the rolls and the pictures correctly.

  • Why do all documents get the same time stamp?

All files show the same creation time, 19.21, even those created today before that time. I have a new PowerBook Pro 17" running 10.6.8.

Go to System Prefs > Language & Text > Formats.  In the Times section, click Customize.
Everything in the four lines at the top should be "elements" dragged from the lower section, not actual numbers.

  • A number of imported photos from iphoto in imovie project all show the same image whilst the preview before dragging them in is correct. What could be the problem?

A number of photos from iphoto used in imovie project all show the same image when playing back. The previw when clicking and dragging them and also the pictures in the storyline. Yet when playing the clip a previous immage keeps on appearing. What could be the problem?

You created a mess and there is no solution - with the actions you have taken those photos are gone unless you have access to them from some other source - they existed in two place - in your iPhoto library and on your backup drive - you have traded the backup drive and restore an earlier iPhoto library so all you have is what you have

  • Iphoto showing the same picture for all my uploaded pictures after update, how do I get my old ones back so I can upload them to websites?

After updating the new iPhoto software in the middle of December, I haven't been able to view all of my pictures that had been on my computer prior to the new software update, It shows the same photo for every single picture, how do I convert it back or reboot it?
    THANKS!!

make a temporary backup of the library and launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed to rebuild the library. Select the options for rebuilding the thumbnails .

  • HT203421 I have recently purchased some apps from the app store and after downloading them, the icon that appears in the dock changes to a different icon. It is now the same icon appearing on all newly downloaded apps.  Does anyone know what is happening

I have recently purchased some apps from the app store and after downloading them, the icon that appears in the dock changes to a different icon. It is now the same icon appearing on all newly downloaded apps.  Does anyone know what is happening here? Even updating an older game app resulted in the original game icon changing to the new identical icon that all new apps are appearing with.  This new icon is like a page with a ruler, pencil and paintbrush. Any tips on how to stop this or how to revert to the icon as it appears on the app store would be appreciated.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I connected it to my lap top and went to my itunes account but it tells me that the device that i just plugged in has an error. I already tried plugging it back in several times and it still won't work. I don't know what else to do. • The files in finder windows all have the same icon

Hi, the files in finder windows all have the same icons. Sometimes the icon will change when I drop a new file in a window. But I have no control over that. Any cue?
    Thanks

I also rebuilt the Launch Services Database. It worked for the icons already in folders (and finder windows), but when I put a file from the desktop in one of these folders, the file does not have the correct icon.

  • Iphoto events all showing the same picture

All my events in iphoto are showing the same picture and I have to click on each one to see what is behind it so furstrating can anyone help me

This is a software issue. There's no wear and tear involved here, so the age of the computer doesn't come into it.
    Most Simple Back Up
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
    Slightly more complex:
Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically. Examples of such apps: Chronosync or DejaVu . But are many others. Search on MacUpdate

For a 1G and 2G it can take hours. Make sure it is connected to a charging source otherwise the battery can fully drain before it is done. If still problem
