All solutions for Getting a client Remote ip address.

Hello experts! I want to create a unified theme for the problem of obtaining ip address of the client computer. And for Remote ip address. Since a lot of questions and answers is less.
My problem:
I nees get the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the client or last proxy that sent the request.
First, the idea was to use Webutil. Function webutil_clientinfo.get_ip_address. But it is processed on the client and returns the address of the network card of the client. Right? Under this Re: webutil: get_ip_address It is not the remote address.
Next, the proposal to use 'sys_context('USERENV','IP_ADDRESS')'. It also does not give satisfactory results. Returns the address of the computer where you installed the database.
Next, use javaBean ClientInfo.http://forms.pjc.bean.over-blog.com/article-15985856.html - this. Again, not that. It works differently. Sometimes it returns 127.0.0.1. Sometimes it returns the address in local net (As webutil). And by the way the code for the address there looks like: "InetAddress.getLocalHost().GetHostAddress();" - Or I do not understand or he should not return the Remote address of last proxy.
Next, "servlet" with function "reqest.getRemoteAddr()". I found many examples of code for use java-servlet. For example it

I was able to program it in JPS+HTML and got what I wanted. But I have not figured out how to use the servlet in FORMS! :( And could not find a description of how to use it as well with Foms. Unfortunately I do not know very well java.
And the final proposed solution: is a "owa_util.get_cgi_env ('REMOTE_ADDR');"
It seems to be returning something that is necessary. But there was a problem: I wrote this in Forms. The form was compiled. But shows error "ORA-06502" when run form on brouser. I created a procedure on the server, which added a line with owa_util and call her from Forms (when run form on brouser) again and see the error. At this time "ORA-04067". This error says that there is no owa_util.
I'm confused :)
Help me and others to understand how to get the remote ip address please. :)
1) If I use javaBean, then whether I understood that "InetAddress.getLocalHost().GetHostAddress();" not return the Remote address of last proxy? Or maybe there are other features that I do not know?

2) Is it possible to use a servlet with Forms? And if so, how?

3) How do I add owa_util? I understand that it is not. Or am I not right?

webutil_clientinfo.get_ip_address will get you the ip of the client running the forms applet

This has been a huge problem for me too. I was actually late to work yesterday and wanted to throw my phone out the window of the bus that I finally was able to find. I'm new to Portland, so this suddenly missing feature is particularly problematic. It really is so hard to avoid getting angry, I just can't believe they would eliminate a feature that people rely on so heavily. But anger doesn't do any good so I'm trying my hardest to stay calm and figure out an acceptable solution while Apple works to restore this feature - at least I pray to God that that's what they aim to do. Here are the apps that I've been trying, I'll try to explain how they work and maybe they will work for you. This is going to be a long post, but I'm hoping some people will find it helpful.
I'll start with the most obvious of all - adding Google Maps to your homescreen. Every time you launch the app you will get a diaologue prompting you to allow Google Mpas to use your location, and then you will be in an environment that looks similiar to what we are used to. It does not integrate with your contact list, so one workaround I've been using is going to my contacts and holding my finger on an address to copy it to the clipboard. Be aware that leaving this web app will lose whatever you're looking at and go back to the start, so best to do this before you launch it. You'll notice some strange behavior - for instance the drop down menu of suggested locations will apear and then quickly disaprear, so just ignore this. Often it will often unexpectadly scroll to the top for some reason when you're trying to do something towards the bottom. Haven't figured out a fix except for trying to not get flustered and doing things slowly and deliberately. It's not as quick as we're used to anyway so this is not hard to do. If you'd like to see any of the suggested routes on a map you can do this by clicking the small 'Map View' link. Just be aware that you can only do this once or you will have to type in your starting an ending points again, as there is no way to go back to the list you were just looking at once you are in map view. One thing that I have found helpful about the Google maps method is when looking at a route, whether in list or map view, you can see the stop ID right there, which is helpful if your city has a way to check real-time arrivals. For instance here in Portland you can text this stop ID to a certain number and immediately receive real-time arrivals.
The app I've been using most is called 'Transit'. It's pretty beautiful aesthetically, and the UI is simpler than anything else I've come across, which is convenient for a task that you want to accomplish as quickly as possible so you can put away your phone and be on your way. When you first launch it you're presented with three bus routes that stop near your current location. It tells you which direction the route is headed and in how many minutes the next bus is scheduled to arrive. This is helpful if you are familiar with that particular busline, otherwise there's no indication of where the line will take you. Upon clicking a line, you're presented with three buttons (again, loving the simplicity). One reverses the direction of that same busline. One expands the list of times so you can quicly see all the arrival times for that bus route at that particular stop for the entire day. The other takes you to map view and quickly displays the location of this stop. And here's the best feature of all (!!), it shows you the busline as a blue line and every single stop is marked with a circle. You can click on a circle and it displays the expected arrival time at that stop. This is all very helpful in some circumstances, but of course it does not let you type in a destination and have it build a route for you, and if you'll be transferring to another line this will not help you at all. To accomplish this you press the arrow in the lower left where you can type in a starting point, ending point, and an arrival/departure time. And this DOES reference your contact list. It will then allow you to quickly switch between three routes that it selects. It also searches Maps (actually it says 'Powered by Foursquare' for landmarks/establishments. For instance if I type in 'sushi', I'm presented with a handful of sushi joints in my area. There is a bug in this app where sometimes the 'Route' button is missing and you can only resolve this by leaving the app and quitting the process in the multitasking trail. When it builds your route, you can click on any point of transfer and it will tell you what time that bus/train is leaving. There is no list view, but personally I never found list view very helpful anyway. I know some people will disagree though.
Now I'll talk about HopStop. This is a kind of clunky interface unfortunately, and also has ads which I can't stand. It is able to reference your contact list. My least favorite thing about this app is the list it gives you is so excessively long-winded it's hilarious. Every single stop along the route is listed in this list view, so you'll be scrolling through literally dozens of pages of useless information like 'Pass such-and-such - 1 min. Pass such-and-such - 1 min. Pass such and such - 2 min.' Oh well. The good news is on this insanely long list, it indicates when you are supposed to do something other than sit patiently in your seat by having an icon to the left of that instruction - either a person walking or a bus number. When you switch to list view unfortunately it no longer displays departure times, so you'll have to be switching betwen maps and list view. One great feature of this app is it lets you save routes to your favorite list. It also lets you find bus stops and quickly see what bus lines hit those stops. I can't stand the flashing advertisements, so I avoid using this at all costs.
On to 'City Maps'. Again, the first thing you will see is a short list of bus lines that hit the stop nearest to you. Tap on one and it shows you the next three departures in either direction, as well as the distance between your current location and the stop in question. This app also searches for restaurants and such, but takes this feature on step further. Here when I type in 'sushi' and select a restaurant, I'm brought to a page that links to the Yelp, Foursquare, and Facebook pages associated with it - even has a link that takes you directly to the menu if Foursquare has it. Awesome feature, right?? Tap on 'Map' and it immediately displays the location and an option to build a few routes. It always displays the walking route below the bus lines to give you a sense of how long it would take (even if it's a two hour walk). Clicking on a bus route on this list takes you to list view. Unfortunately this also displays a deluge of pointess turns that only the bus driver need worry about, but it's not as bad as HopStop. There's an optional feature where it can display Google Street View images right in this list view, if you think that could be helpful. With one tap it quickly switches to a very aesthetically pleasig map view. There's an update button that lets you immediately refresh directions, edit starting/ending points, or give it new directions altogether.
I'm sure in just a moment someone will come along and say something insulting about how we're blowing things out of proportion. I guess that's just the nature of trolls - a lot of people find being angry on forums while hiding behind their screen names cathartic for obvious reasons. Let's all of us just do our best to ignore these people and keep this discussion diplomatic and oriented towards helpful solutions. I know none of us want to give up our beloved iPhones, I'm only considering it as a last resort.

I have a user who wants to do this same thing. I did not find any way either to default the attributes to anything other than what you see the first time. Seems like such a trivial thing, hard to believe they do not allow it. I did find a program for this called iDress but I can't seem to download it from any links on the Internet. Not sure if it is free or not, but it was recommended by a link on the Mac support site.

Apple can't do it, only you could potentially do it if you had enabled Find My iPad on it before it was stolen.
If it was stolen then you should report it to the police. As a safety precaution you should also change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc.

How to find all solutions for reordering of vector

-I have vector named (vect_temp) and I want to find all possible reordering of this vector.
-I have function named Min_diff(vect_temp,next_point) works as follows : I should gave it an element (next_point) in the vector (vect_temp) and it must generate the vector (vect_diff) that contains all possible elements next elements.
-The function nex_min(vect_temp,next_point) works as follows : I should gave it an element (next_point) in the vector (vect_temp) and it must generate the vector (vect_min) that contains all possible elements next elements.
-reordering critriea:
-Min_diff(vect_temp,next_point) and nex_min(vect_temp,next_point) and (next_point) in this first iteration is equal to any selected element in the (vect_temp). after calling the functions, if element in the (vect_diff) is equal to the element in ( vect_min) then add this element into the ordered set [ vec_ordering] and call functions Min_diff(vect_temp,next_point) and nex_min(vect_temp,next_point) again , next_point now is the equal to the element that we have been added in the previous step into the ordered set [ vec_ordering] and repeat this process until all elements in (vect_temp) are ordered according to this criteria.
- I'm able to do reordering according to the cirtira above and find one solution. but the problem is that if (vect_diff) contains many elements that equal to many elements in ( vect_min), in this case I need to do reordering for the first equal element and this will be one solution and then find reordering for the next equal element and so on.
let's consider this example:
- let (vect_temp) contains element [5,9,7,3,1]
- for the firs iteration let the next_point equal to 7
- after calling function Min_diff(vect_temp,next_point), then (vect_diff) will contain [ 5,9,3]
- after calling function nex_min(vect_temp,next_point), then ( vect_min) will contain [ 5,9]
so for now (vect_diff) and ( vect_min) will have two equal elements.
- the first solution must be that fist take the first equal element and do reordering such that ordered set [ vec_ordering] will equal to [7,5] then call functions Min_diff(vect_temp,next_point), and nex_min(vect_temp,next_point) again. the( next_point) in this iteration is qual to 5, these funtions will find next elements, let's consider that (vect_diff) and ( vect_min) will have equal element [3] then add this element to the ordered set [ vec_ordering] and repeat calling functions util all elments in (vect_temp) are added to the ordered set [ vec_ordering]. This will be one solution. now the second solution will be is to take second equal elment [9] instead of [5] and continue calling functions and finding ordered list.
so that each time vect_diff and vect_min will have many equal elements, then do reordering for first equal element this is one solution and then do reordering for the second equal element and so on.

As Jeff mentioned, unfortunately, the info provided is incorrect. Most external hard drives do not have the ability to act as a host device. Meaning, when you plug your camera into a computer, it generally mounts the camera as a drive (or provides similar functionality). You then use your computer to pull the information from the camera. If you simply connect an external drive directly to the camera (as this solution suggests), there is no way to get the data from the camera to the drive. You can generally daisy chain firewire connections... meaning you can connect your camera to a firewire drive and if the firewire drive has multiple firewire ports, you can then connect the second port to a computer with firewire. This is not an option for you as you already know there is no firewire on the MacBook. There is some misconception that for external drives with multiple interfaces (firewire and USB and or eSATA) that you can connect a camera to the drives firewire interface and then connect the drive to your computer using the USB connection. Unfortunately, you can't daisy chain across different interfaces, the drive can only support data throughput through one interface at a time.
Still an external drive is good to have for backups, etc... but it is not a solution for your problem.

PLEASE, once and for all a solution for getting RECOVERY KEY

First off, I would just like to say that I believe this is the STUPIDEST PROBLEM... Why the heck do we need even need a username, password... AND SOME SECURITY KEY THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND?

Seeking a document management and file sharing solution for an online client portal

Late last year our developers created a Member’s Portal for a client’s website (built with WordPress) enabling Members to have a secure area for a discussion forum and crucially, secure
document storage and access, and file-sharing. The WordPress plugin chosen for the Portal was WP-Client.
We have a problem though and I wonder if you or anyone can help?
Basically, the solution was supposed to be like Dropbox or Google Drive but within the Portal but with slight differences. The problem is that the current solution we have isn’t like either
and has various flaws which make it unpopular with most members. It uses free software called kcfinder – see

So we are seeking to change the file management system. This system must do the following:
It’s got to be intuitive e.g. the action open or download must be ‘typical’ (it is not so in kcfinder you have to right click to download for instance
You must be able open an Office document (especially Word, Excel and Powerpoint) online in situ within the portal. Currently in kcfinder you have to download it.
You must be able to edit it online. Currently you have to download it, open it, edit it, re-upload it and overwrite it.
The client uses Sharepoint (I think that’s part of MS Office 365) and wants to be able to I think drag docs from there straight into the Portal file management system (I think at the moment they have to download a file from Sharepoint to their hard drive
and then upload to kcfinder.
We are currently investigating using a WP plugin for Google Drive

However having loaded the plugin, the developer has found that two issues remain that so far defeat us:
Firstly, and this seems to be applicable to using Google Drive outside the portal as well as in it - you can’t edit Word docs online in Google Drive without creating a Google Doc. This means we get duplicate docs which we don’t want – and they’re in
the wrong format. We want Word and no duplication. The members/users don’t have time to delete and change the format back to Word. I guess the same applies to other Office docs.
Second, apparently you can’t create a new folder in Google Drive in the portal.
So my question for this forum is really what can you suggest, either as a fix to the Google Drive solution or is there a totally different plugin or set up we can use? Ideally it should
be Office-based or friendly since most of our users use Microsoft Office.
The other proviso is that it must be affordable. We/client cannot afford the $10 per user per month that some systems charge. The attractiveness of the Google option is not only the wide
use of Google Docs (notwithstanding the fact that you can't open Word in GD instead it creates a duplicate in GD) but the fact that the plugin is cheap.

A solution for getting QT and iTunes to install

OK, I have NO idea why this worked, but it did, and I haven't seen it in these forums, so I'm posting here in case it might help someone else. I couldn't get iTunes or QT standalone to install and spent many frustrating hours trying and posting messages here. I JUST got it to work by doing the following: I again deleted all Quicktime stuff from my computer by going into the Programs folder and also doing the regedit thing. I again disabled my antivirus and firewall software. I then again downloaded QT standalone. When it did its usual trick of the installer window disappearing down to the taskbar, I clicked on Start and then Shut Down. Got error messages, but then--voila--as if by magic, QT then completed installation. Hallelujah! I then successfully and uneventfully downloaded iTunes, which I am now taking for its maiden voyage. I found this solution in ilounge.com's forums, which Walt Mossberg recommended in his latest Wall Street Journal column. Praises and blessings be unto Walt and the ilounge poster!

Mysteriously fixed - plugged my iPhone in last night to listen to some music and noticed that something was Dow.oSing from iCloud - screen showed playlists when download was finished - all my Genius playlists were populated - not sure what happened but happy I have my playlists back on my phone.

Is Intune a feasible solution for Internet-Based Client Management?

Our organization is looking at implementing SCCM 2012, with a key requirement being that we need to be able to manage Windows updates to clients off site. My understanding is that we must have a PKI in place to do this. However, our environment is complex
enough that PKI may not be an option.
My question is, would leveraging Intune and SCCM 2012 be a possible solution? I understand Intune is geared towards MDM, but I'm trying to figure out if we could "assign" off-site clients to SCCM via Intune and manage Windows updates like we do
with on-site clients.

No, unfortunately you can't do that. Computers are handled differently than mobile devices in the Unified Solution of ConfigMgr and Intune.
Mobile Devices - enrolled with Intune and managed via ConfigMgr (must set the Mobile Device Authority to ConfigMgr).
Computers - they can have an Intune client OR a ConfigMgr client. They cannot have both. Therefore if you enrol and computer with Intune you cannot manage it with ConfigMgr.
Are these remote computers domain joined? Have you considered Direct Access as a possible solution. It's straightforward to implement.

Is there a solution for getting an itunes account, in Canada, for a Laptop that doesnt require a Credit Card?

Ok so I recently have purchased a bunch of Disney Blueray movies that are DVD+HD Digital. In order to use the HD Digital I must go to www.Digitalcopyplus.com and put in the redemption code and select the media I want to use to play the HD digital content. In Canada there is one option> itunes.
In order to use itunes I must have an AppleID. Sure np I created one. But! When I launch itunes and log in with the ID it asks me to associate it with itunes and verify. During the verification process it asks for,(Remember I am in Canada) Visa, MC or Amex. They are the only options. And there is NO option to not enter a credit card, guess I could make one up but that would be fraud.
So end result is that I cannot watch or download the HD Digital Content of any of my movies. Because itunes must be used to watch it and I must be registered with AppleID and associate it with itunes whereby during the association the verification step requires a Credit Card.

My database is in oracle 10.2.0. I have configured 2 standby servers for my primary database. I want to know that are there any parameter in tnsnames.ora at the client side so that If switchover or failover occurs,the client or user should not be aware of the switch process i.e., without down time.
Because there will be different service names and host, how can this be addressed at the client tnsnames.ora.

It's possible to specify more than one address location. For example:
SCR9 =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = bloo)(PORT = 1521))
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = fermat)(PORT = 1521))
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVER = DEDICATED)
(SERVICE_NAME = scr9)
If the first address can't be contacted Oracle will try the second address.

Seagate NAS Solutions for an impending Client-Side FTP under Development

Hey guys, I'm sort of new to the whole IT game. I am currently looking to develop an FTP software for my final project in my Computer Science degree. I prefer Java as my choice language, and I would like to build a home server just for testing purposes. I'm also thinking of using the Apache HTTP server to run video XML files on the web.
Given these specifications, is this a possible project to take on? Any advice as to which Seagate NAS device I could buy?

How to get the client's IP address from within Java Studio Creator JSP/Java

Hi there.
I just started using the Java Studio Creator 2 and now I need to get hold of the client IP address - this should be part of the request, but I cannot fint the right way to get hold of that information. I want to be able to access this information from within the Java-code in a JSP/JSPF-page.
Is there a new way of doing:
request.getRemoteAddr();
This is the way I remember it from the JSP/Servlet-days...
