All TV shows in one massive list???  What???

When I was on 1.0, my TV shows were categorized beautifully by show. I was a little dismayed that episodes were listed in reverse, but I was living with it. But now, is there any particular reason why they all show up in one massive list based on order of upload to iTunes? I can't figure out how to change it, and I was really hoping that Take 2 would let us choose what order we want to view episodes in. I have to say, I am thoroughly disappointed with the single list of what is now thousands of episodes. I can barely navigate through it. I used to use it every day, but now my ATV collecting dust because I have no interest in using it when it's this inconvenient. I'm tempted to roll back.
I should also add that the episodes are not listed by title. I have the show names listed down the page. So, for eight seasons of Roseanne, I have the word "Roseanne" listed 318 times and I have to highlight one to see what it's about. Did something go wrong in the updating process??

yep you probably have the shows sorted by date... at the top of the screen you will see a blue oblong with the words written "Date" and "Show".. just click the Right/>>| button on the remote to switch to organize the list by show.

  • Spry tabbed panels, all content showing on one page, please help?

    Hi there,
    I'm developing a website for my friend and i'm using DW CS5 spry tabbed panels. Everything looks great in DW but when i load the page to the server all of the content shows as one page and i can't navigate through tabs.http://dndperspective.co.cc/

  • All contacts showing as one/New bug?

    ON Jabber 9.0.2.736 almost all my contacts show up as the same person.  But when I try and chat it, gives me the correct person, but still the name shows the same.  It also says it for my name as well.  Any ideas?

    Afer posting, I wanted to clear this up..
    Each project has 20 pictures to it, that are being dragged from the finder into iMovie, iMovie randomly selects one image to show as the clip preview, for all 20 images in that project.

    I am looking for a list what a standard user can and can't do on Mac OS 10.5
    Anyone an idea where to find it?

    A standard user can modify files in his home folder. He can also add items to the /Users/Shared folder, and add items to other users' ~/Public/Drop Box folders. Preferences that are specific to his account (screen saver, desktop picture, keyboard layouts, etc.) can all be modified by a standard user. All other areas of the OS X boot drive are off-limits to being modified, including by installing software and changing system-wide preferences (Network, adding user accounts, changing the startup disk, etc.)
    That said, a non-admin user can do nearly all admin and even root tasks from his own account, by simply entering an admin username and password when prompted (if he knows the admin password, of course). I follow Apple's security configuration guidelines and use a non-admin account for all my day-to-day tasks. I do admin and even root tasks from this account by authenticating as an admin when prompted. I almost never log in to my admin account.

    Murray is right. Padding (and margins) is added to the width. However, when using percentages, you should never use figures that add up to exactly 100%.
    Browsers need to convert the percentages to pixels. Because pixels must be whole numbers, some percentages are rounded up, which results in the final element dropping down below its neighbours. With percentages, it's much safer to use values that add up to 98% (99% often works, but 98% is safer).

    It won't work with airplay, here is how I got it to work with OSX 10.9.4 fully patched;
    you will need to use the serial cable to start the process:
    In-brief Version:
    0) Go grab the firmware update tool, the driver, and the scanner software
    1) Turn off the firewall and antivirus (if you use it ??)
    2) Update the firmware using the serial line
    3) Reserve a static IP outside the DHCP range (using the MAC address of the printer) on your WAP server
    4) Configure the printer to use a static IP through the front panel
    5) Configure the printer WIFI with your SSID and net key through the front panel
    6) Install the CUPS driver on your computer through the printer settings by specifying the static IP
    7) Install the Scanner driver then go into the Control Center and add you computer and printer configuration
    I generally use this kind of set up so that the printer comes back at the same place after a power failure in
    the event that it has a crappy driver.
    For those of you who need a little more help:
    0) Turn off anti-virus and firewall software (it did seem to matter)
    1) Go to the Brother Center and download 1) The firmware update tool, 2) the driver, 3) the scanner software
    2) Go to the front panel on the printer: tools -> all settings -> network -> tcp/ip -> WLAN ; find the MAC address and write it down
    3) Plug the printer in using the serial cable, it will auto detect and you will be able to talk to it.
    4) Install the firmware update tool by double clicking on the dmg you downloaded
    5) Update the firmware and the subfirmware (NOTE: this is a bit finicky -- you may have to unplug and replug it in a couple of times before it starts to talk with the device, after it starts the update process it frequently gives up in the middle, DO NOT unplug the device at this point, just select "retry" from the dialog and it will continue -- it will take about 15 mins or so.
    6) Once the firmware is installed, go to your WAP server and look at the DHCP IP range; typically something like 10.0.1.2 to 10.0.1.200
    7) If there is a capability to reserve an IP on your WAP server pick an IP outside the range in 6 (e.g. 10.0.1.201) and use the MAC address (from step 2) for the reservation... its fine if you don't reserve it -- this is an extra precaution -- just make sure you pick an IP outside the DHCP range
    8) Go to the front panel on the printer: tools -> all settings -> network -> tcp/ip -> WLAN ; then set the IP address:
         boot method: static
         IP address: the address you chose in 7)
         mask: 255.255.255.0
         gateway: the IP of your router -- typically 10.0.1.1
    8) Go to the front panel on the printer: tools -> wireless -> setup wizard -> let it find your network, select it, and enter your key.
    9) Reboot the printer and check it connects to your wireless network
    10) Go to the front panel on the printer, tools -> all settings -> print reports -> network configuration ; print the report and check the IP and MAC
    are what you think they should be.
    11) Go to your computer, bring up a terminal (applications->utilities->terminal)
    12) Ping your printer to make sure its up and accessible -- type: "ping 10.0.1.201" (or whatever IP you used in step 7) and check you get a response -- not a timeout -- if it works disconnect the serial line and delete the (serial line) printer from the list of printers  -- you won't need it anymore -- if not you screwed up somewhere along the line
    13) Now the printer is on the wireless network, install the driver by double clicking the dmg. Then go to system preferences->printers & scanners
         click +
         in the add menu click IP
         enter your IP (from step 7)
         make sure the Protocol is IPP
         Name the printer and set its location
         Go to Use field, in the pull down menu select "Select Software"
         Go through the list and find the Brother MFC-9340CDW CUPS driver -- if its not there you screwed up installing it so go do it again.
    14) Go back to the printer page -- select the printer, select Open Print Queue, then select Settings -- check the Driver Version is 4.1.0 -- if
    it says 2 you are using the airplay version which seems to be buggered -- so you need to try again.
    15) Go open a word document and print it -- smile you are nearly there
    16) Install the scanner software by double clicking the dmg
    17) Open the Control Center, under the Model: select Other
         Click +
         Select your printer
         Enter your computer name in the display name and click ok
    18) Go into adobe Acrobat File->Create->PDF from Scanner (or whatever software you are scanning with)
    19) Select "Brother TWAIN" from the scanner list -- if its not there you screwed up the scanner software installation -- go do it again
    20) Put a document in the top of the printer and press scan -- wammo !
    21) Turn back on your firewall (and antivirus if you have it -- why I can't imagine but what the ****)
    22) Go ping the printer and make sure its still reachable (see step 12) -- if not you need to figure out what your antivirus is screwing up because the firewall is no problem
    23) try printing and scanning again...
    24) rejoice... your done.

    The sort fields should generally be empty unless you've putting in custom values to sort solo artists by their surnames. You can apply common changes to thousands of tracks at once, just don't apply the wrong change because there is no undo.
    It is a good idea to backup before undertaking large scale changes. See this backup tip for a suggested approach.

  • How do I put all the episodes from a TV show into one iTunes folder?

    Can someone tell me how to put all the episodes from a TV show into one folder?  I'm not sure how I did this, but while converting my dvd's to digital on my computer, one TV show (Firefly) created one folder with the Firefly name, and within that folder are all the episodes.  I've tried to recreate this with MASH, but it just puts each episode into the TV library.  This gets very messy with alot of different TV shows.  Help!  Thanks!!

    In principle TV Shows are grouped on the Show field and within a show sub-grouped on Season No. In practice recent builds of iTunes and/or Apple TV firmware seem to be taking account of Album, Artist & Album Artist in certain views. For consistency I would suggest the following approach:
    Show = Album = <Show Name>
    e.g. "30 Rock"
    Artist = Album Artist = <Show Name> Cast (or something like that)
    e.g. "30 Rock Cast"
    Season No. = <Season No.> or <Blank> (Separate seasons or all listed together)
    e.g. 1-3
    Episode ID = s##e## (This field, sorted alphabetically, controls order)
    e.g. s01e01 - s03e58 (use s##e### when >99 episodes)
    Episode No. = Track No. = <Absolute Episode No.>
    (Can also be per season, but abs. is better) e.g. 1 - 58
    Disc No. = <Season No.> (Can be set even if merging seasons)
    e.g. 1-3
    Taking this approach you can always merge or split into individual seasons simply by clearing or setting the Season No. field.

    BTW, why you want to display only one item in the list.
    If you are sure that the list will be having only one item, why don't you have it as inputText/outputText
    How do you filter out the item to be displayed in the list? If that filtering is done on listdatasource bound to the list, the list will automatically show only one item(i.e, the filtered item)

    Sounds like a good plan, you can never be to safe and having a second External HD is safer than one.
    The only thing that I would do different, is setup the 3T as my TimeMachine Backup and then erase and move my Photos, Videos and perhaps even iTunes Media to the 1T. That way you will have room to backup both the Internal Hard Drive and the 1T External Hard Drive to the 3T using TimeMachine.
    Take your time, study and use the > Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions if you get stuck or aren't sure how to make the move.

  • Since installing Mavericks on my MacBook Pro, I have many (not all) documents that cannot be opened in either Pages '09 or Pages 5.  They show on my doc lists, but are greyed out so I can't try to change extensions or anything else.  Some are PDFs.

    Since installing Mavericks on my MacBook Pro, I have many documents, but not all, that cannot be opened in either Pages 5 or in Pages '09.  The names show in my document lists, but are greyed out.  They do not show any extensions, but I'm sure at seast some of them are PDFs.  As I cannot open them, I am unable to try to experiment with any solutions - I am not tech savvy, but can sometimes fix things by trial and error.  I have no issues with sharing documents as I have no other devices.  I just want to be able to open my saved documents!  Also, the documents I can open have to be persistently coaxed to open to a point that it is extremely aggravating.  I am not so happy with this recent "upgrade."  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    You use Finder to find stuff. It is what you use to look at where your files are kept and to rename, move or trash them. If you double click on a file in Finder it finds the right software to open it for you.
    To open particular files you use the right software for each type. Usually, but not always, the software that made the file.
    Pages opens files ending in .pages. Also .txt, .rtf, and doc.
    Pages 5 is the latest (but certainly not the greatest) version of Pages. It has trouble opening all sorts of files including the older Pages '09 files but it will still do it.
    Unfortunately Apple has chosen for Pages 5 to also save its files as exactly the same file extension .pages despite it being a different format that can not be opened by the older Pages '09.
    As we all know Apple is wise and great beyond belief and would not do something that on the face of it looks extraordinarily stupid and shortsighted. Therefore we know that it must be our fault and we are not holding the software right. Because we are bad users, we must be punished, by either having to use Pages 5 or jump through hoops to avoid using Pages 5.
    If you have installed Pages 5 any .pages file (old or new) will be opened by Pages 5. If you then save the file, Pages 5 will change the file format. So don't open your files with Pages 5 and don't save them if you do.
    To stop Pages 5 opening and resaving your old files, you need to drag it to the trash and empty it.
    When it is no longer around to annoy you, you can go back to using Pages 09.

    Oaky, at least we got that far.  Next step is to determine if all those "numbers" are really numbers.  Changing the format to "number" doesn't necessarily change the string to a number. The string has to be in the form of a number.  Some may appear to you and me as numbers but will not turn into "numbers" when you change the formatting from Text to Number. Unless you've manually formatted the cells to be right justified, one way to tell if it is text or a number is the justification. Text will be justified to the left, numbers will be justified to the right.
    Here are some that will remain as strings:
    +123
    123 with a space after it.
    .123
