All wma files dont work on zen nano p

i checked the description and it says that it play mp3 as well as wma files. half the songs i tried to put on it are wma files, and im not using a stupid file converter. if i check whats on the player on a different computer all the files i chose are on it, but i can only play the mp3 files, save for i can see wma file but the song is just silence until i skip the song. i used windows media player to sync it, and this is my friends old mp3 player and it worked fine for him. the main questio nhere is why wont it play my wma files?

Windows Media Player has copy protection switched on by default so your wma files ripped from your own CDs may be protected. If so you have to transfer them using Windows Media Player or Creative MediaSource and not just drag'n'drop them in Explorer.
If it is a protection issue the songs should appear on the player but immediately stop when you try to play them.
You can switch off the copy protection option in WMP's settings.

Some programs and video files dont work, get a crash report everytime I close, even after an uninstall everything and re install.
So I try playing some videos and it gives me an error, which I can watch on Chrome. Soundcloud doesnt seem to work, again works on chrome, and before I could watch WebM's but now it says not supported MME. Also everytime I close I get a crash reporter. Protected mode works on some systems and not others. Since two of your four crash reports were related to Flash, I thought it was worth a try, but it's up to you whether you want to try it.
I'm not sure whether the issue with WebM video is a setting issue or a program files issue or a system issue.

How do I organize my songs(files,playlists) in my zen nano p

I have read the FAQ about organizing in a USB mass storage player, but I still do not understand how to do it. I have a Zen nano plus with GB and I would like to put my songs into a certain order and/or in 'playlists'. In the FAQ it says to click on the folder where the tracks are that you want reordered, but I do not have a seperate folder where tracks are. Is there also a way to make folders to put songs into If so, how? Also, when a song is playing and I hold down the 'scroll' button a screen comes up that says root with a folder in the left hand corner and two arrows on either side at the bottom with no other words. What is this? Does it have anything to do with making different folders? Most of my songs that are in the Creative Mediasource Organizer are not under the PC music library but in Zen Nano Plus(on the left hand side of organizer) and only show when my zen nano plus is connected to the computer, is that supposed to happen? Will it help in making folders/reordering if all the songs are in the PC music library? How do I put them there(the songs that are in the library are also in the Zen Nano Plus area)? Please help.

Right click the header bar. Select "Date Added" to add it if it isn't already a sort category. Then click the heading to sort either in ascending or descending order.

"All My Files" not working correctly

I'll keep this as brief as I can.
Problem: In Finder "All My Files"
Purchased iMac 27inch a few weeks ago.
Moved all my music and photos onto the new computer.
AMF just shows nothing.
Rang Applecare, they got me to do numerous things (refresh spotlight, refresh the finder preference files, complete restore of OSX) but in the end it had them stumped.
Returned back to Applestore, they said they had seen it before but as mine was only a few weeks old they would replace.
Got it home yesterday, checked AMF as I was moving music and pictures onto it from external HDD all working fine, files appearing as you would expect.
Today, checked AMF, only two files showing (about downloads, about stacks) nothing else.
I'm at the point where I am just going to ignore the problem, not ideal I know but still.
Could this be a bug with OSX? Something I am doing wrong?
Any replies appreciated.

I would recommend restarting your media migration and use Migration Assistant, it's the easiest and quickest method. AppleCare can help you through that, when you call let them know the history so they can help you start with a clean slate. If you have an Apple Store in your area I'd strongly recommend booking an appointment with a Genuis who can walk you through the process. If you want to go to the trouble of bringing your iMac and EHD with you they will also help you.

WMA file not working in IE

In Studio 8 (PC) I am embedding a .wma audio file into a page
using Insert > Media > Plugin. Once the wma PlugIn is on the
page I am setting the parameters for Autostart/True, Volume/1,000,
and ShowControls/True.
In FireFox 1.5.0.9 the audio file starts to play immediately.
If I change the volume to 10,000 or change the ShowControls to
False, there is no change in the way the page displays.
In IE6 the audio doesn't work at all.

I’m a newbie so there’s lots of stuff that
probably needs work. But I don’t know why the audio
doesn’t play in IE.
I will try and see if I can create an audio file in Flash and
try that route too.
But does anyone have insight as to why this audio file is not
being controlled by the Parameters settings in the FireFox Browser

Thanks. For some reason I'm not getting audio in my IE
browser here at the office. I tried it somewhere else after getting
your post and found that it did work.
As far as using the audio. The client wanted it. I tried to
explain that it wasn't necessary and actually was a negative, but
they were pretty insistent. I've got to choose my battles and this
one isn't worth it.

All music files completely corrupted on zen microph

Hey there,?Maybe some out there can help me and a friend. I have had a reg 5GB zen micro for 3 yrs now. worked fine for the most part, and when it didnt i was able to replace it relati'vely easily. now me and my friend both got brand new zen microphoto as a gift. mine works perfectly fine. my friend wasnt as lucky. it worked for a few days but then suddenly all of his songs would play completely off. in other words, it would play the song but the words weren't synched with the instruments and it plays the whole thing at weird speeds. totally not bearable. we've tried different headphones, no help. the songs all play fine on the computer. we tried reformatting the player, we tried the clean up, i tried reloading the firmware, no help at all. has this happened to anyone before? its extremely weird and frustrating. any help at all would be appreciated. thanks in advance,?Raphi

So it's connected to the new update? Jeez. Because it just happened out of the blue yesterday and the iTunes/iPod update was done back when it came out. (Thank goodness I didn't get around to updating the other one yet. I'll definitely be holding off now.)
For the moment, we (my boyfriend and I; it's his iPod that had the loss) had to restore to factory settings. After the data loss, it wouldn't update. Thing is, I think he re-installed the new version again and then began putting songs back in it.
I know last night it had accepted songs and played without problem, but...if it's a software issue and given it already failed once without warning, I'm of course worried it'll happen again.
I'll try to read through the topics back in September. Doing a websearch for this really didn't net me a lot. Which is why I thought it might be a fluke thing rather then a software thing.
I'm just trying to keep from having to go through this again. Poor guy, he had 18 gigs of music on there. A lot of it rare and odd things that he didn't have back-ups of, you know? He loves his iPod and this is just crushing. I'd like to learn the whys and the how to's of preventing it moving forward.

Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Start iTunes with the option (shift on Windows) key held down and guide it to the new location of the library.
Sync with the restored library.

PSD files dont work

I just updated Motion 5 I was working on a project with PS, after the update could not import PS CS6 files into Motion, get an error saying the codec is not supported. Im using the same file I was using 10 minutes before the update. What happened? Anybody having this issue?

Did that, I have that set to ask, does not fix the problem, still get error "The following file could not be imported because the codec is not suported" What did apple forget this time in this new update. Nothing changed in what I was working on I have already done 5 others like this before the update today. I'm using my MBP 17" I'm going to try my iMAC's and see if the problem is there as well. I noticed that when I updated Motion I had it open and all the PSD layers went dark, thought I did something wrong. Re-installed Motion still the same thing.

How come almost all complete themes dont work with ver. 30.0 can a get a ver. that will work with them?

looking through the "complete themes" and almost all of them say " not available for firefox 30.0 " i guess that what ver. i have i thought i had the newer version and would think theese theme's would work with it is there somewhere else to look for more complete themes or another ver. i can download that will make it work with these theme's???

As of Firefox 29.0 and newer the Complete Themes that were made for old UI in Firefox 28.0 and earlier really needs to be updated.

Zen Nano Plus will not play all trac

My Nano Plus will not playback all tracks installed.My Firmware has been updated to .0.03I have formated the Nano Plus via Windows Explorer.
Tracks have been transferred via Windows Media Player 0 AND Creative MediaSource Organizer 3.30.2 with the same problem. The NanoPlus Mass
Storage Driver has been updated, too. I have tried it on both a desktop AND a notebook PC. The transferred tracks are combinations of WMA and MP3. Both played and unplayed tracks are a combination of
WMA-protected, WMA-nonprotected, and MP3, 28/59/60/92kbps -
nothing unique about the tracks that will not play.
The tracks have either been ripped from my audio CDs or downloaded via Media Player MSN Music store or MP3 store. I have licensed all tracks and they all play via Windows MediaPlayer and Creative MediaSource Player from my hardri've.
All tracks show up on the Zen Nano Plus in windows explorer and will play from the NanoPlus via Media Player and Creative MediaSource player, but they will not all play through the NanoPlus.
All problem tracks (if transferred via
MediaSource) will either be skipped or the NanoPlus will pause when the NanoPlus is playing or they simply are not
visible (if transferred via MediaPlayer0).
The problem tracks are not always the same tracks after I have re-transferred them (I have tired 4
times to clean/re-transfer tracks). I have 8 tracks and only 36 will play.When transferred via Windows MediaPlayer0, the tracks are organized into multiple folders.When transferred via Creative MediaSource, they are all in the root directory.
What can I do to get this to work properly?

My tracks have been transferred with WMP0 into the following Folder structure:
MUSIC-AUTHOR-ALBUM-Tracks.
In Explorer/MediaSource, there is One MUSIC folder containing 65 AUTHOR folders containing 74 ALBUM folders containg 85 Tracks.
My Zen Nano Plus MENU-MUSIC display shows only 3 Folders -- 3 ALBUM Folders of 36 Tracks -- the tracks that do playback.
Is this just an organizational problem?
If so, it's not very handy to Sync....there is nothing in the manual that explains this!

What is the best FOLDER structure to use?

Itunes 7.02 not working with 4gb nano

I have a 2ND generration Nano that Itunes 7.0.2.16 refuses to see. I have the issue on multiple computers, including a brand new unit I installed Itunes on only for testing this
When connecting, Itunes will auto start as if it recognized the Nano was connected, but it never shows up as a device in Itunes.
If I put it in Disk mode, Itunes will see it as a device and immediately connect to it, giving mw the option to update or restore. I did this updating the Nano to version 1.3 of the firmaware AND did a full restore, but the problems still exists.
Windows see's it as a drive and can access it.
I have tried the 5R's and a new synch cable.
I have tried changing the Drive letter to no avail.
I can format it and Itunes will briefly see it, telling me a restore is in progress.
Everything is fine on the screen (no sad faces etc)
Any Suggestions?

I would assume that this is an iTunes bug and not a
problem with the ipod. If the ipod were faulty then
it would seem that it would not be seen by the
computer or iTunes regardless of what mode you had it
in. Have you tried this?

I had tried some of those, but not all. Since the unit exhibited the same behavior on 3 PC's and a mac, I was sure it was a IPOD problem
I took it to the Apple store and they replaced it. Hooked it up to her computer. Said "It doesn't work here either" and gave me a replacement. The new one worked great.
Even if it doesn't do WMA files or work with Windows media player (hint hint), this policy makes the Ipod better than any other competitor!
