Alternative implementation of get_wkt()

I`m turning into a performance problem with the spatial function get_wkt(), and equivalently
to_wktgeometry(). There is no way to get around this, since I need the "string"-representation of the objects, of interesections, of concatenations and so on.
Currently, I fetch time at 100 records a second, which is definitely too slow, as I need to fetch 50.000 records and much much more.
Is there a way to get around this performance problem?
Is there a way to quickly build/get the WKT representation of objects?
This would really help me.
Thanks a lot.

Based on my last post here's some example code which I have found works quite well and may work well for large loads:
import java.io.BufferedReader;
import java.sql.Connection;
import oracle.sql.CLOB;
import java.sql.*;
import java.sql.DriverManager;
import java.sql.SQLException;
import java.io.IOException;
import oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver;
import oracle.sql.STRUCT;
import oracle.spatial.util.*;
public class getWKT
public getWKT()
protected static Connection m_conn;
public static String CLOB2String(CLOB cl) throws IOException, SQLException
if (cl == null)
return "";
StringBuffer strOut = new StringBuffer();
String aux;
BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(cl.getCharacterStream());
while ((aux=br.readLine())!=null)
strOut.append(aux);
return strOut.toString();
public static void main(String[] args) throws SQLException, IOException
getWKT wkt = new getWKT();
Statement stmt = null;
ResultSet rslt = null;
STRUCT geom = null;
Connection conn = null;
try {
DriverManager.registerDriver(new OracleDriver()) ;
m_conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:orcl", "oragis", "oragis"); }
catch(SQLException e) { e.printStackTrace();}
stmt = m_conn.createStatement();
rslt = stmt.executeQuery("select geom " +
"from counties " +
"where sdo_filter (geom, sdo_geometry(2003,8307,null," +
"sdo_elem_info_array(1,1003,3)," +
"sdo_ordinate_array (-75,40,-74,41))) = 'TRUE'");
CLOB wktCLOB;
Adapters geomAdapters = new Adapters();
while (rslt.next()) {
geom = (STRUCT) rslt.getObject(1);
wktCLOB = geomAdapters.structToWkt(geom,m_conn);
System.out.println(wkt.CLOB2String(wktCLOB));
stmt.close();
rslt.close();
m_conn.close();

  • Exchange Online transport agent support / alternative implementation?

    Hi,
    We have a custom transport agent that our clients use with exchange 2010, however a number of potential clients are now using exchange online.  I've read that this doesn't support transport agents, so I was wondering whether it would ever have support
    for them?
    If not, is there an alternative way of capturing and working with emails from all platforms (desktop/mobile/web) before they are sent from the exchange?  Our solution also uses a SQL database to temporarily store some of these emails, as well as an
    admin account to auto-correspond with the sender, so we would need some way of implementing something similar to this as well.
    Many thanks,
    Tom

    Hi,
    For exchange cutover migration, you need a public SSL certificate and a internet routeable domain. After getting up public SSL, did you assign any service to the certificate? Make sure that your autodiscover is working fine as O365 tries to connect your
    Exchange using autodiscover. You can test your outlook anywhere and autodiscover settings from testconnectivity.microsoft.com and yes Microsoft don't have any issue with .local entry in 3rd party certificate. Hope this answers your question. Thanks.

  • How to use External GSSAPI implementation? (SAP's gsskrb5.dll)

    Hi all,
    This is a request for help and/or tips (or any information that might bring me closer to a solution).
    Java has a standards compliant implementation of Kerberos for the GSS (Generic Security Services) API. However, Windows is not standards compliant out of the box, and requires a Registry setting to work ("allowtgtsessionkey"). That Registry setting degrades security.
    Instead of Java's default Kerberos implementation, I am looking into using an Open Source implementation of GSSAPI that talks to Windows in the way Windows expects, through Windows SSPI (Security Support Provider Interface). That implementation is called gsskrb5.dll and is a native Windows library: ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/ietf-work/gssapi/gsskrb5/
    Does anyone have any tips on how I need to go about getting Java to use the external GSSAPI implementation (gsskrb5.dll) instead of its own internal one?
    So far, I have concluded the following:
    * I create a mechanism like this: Oid mechanism = new Oid("1.2.840.113554.1.2.2"); //specifies Kerberos, and is what gsskrb5.dll's author says is the correct Oid.
    * I call org.ietf.jgss.GSSManager.getInstance().createCredentials() with the above mechanism, but that fails for different reasons.
    * I beleive there is a problem with gsskrb5.dll not being used at all.
    * Just loading gsskrb5.dll with System.load() or System.loadLibrary() is not enough.
    * I think I need to either use one of the following, or create an alternative implementation that wraps gsskrb5.dll:
    ** sun.security.jgss.SunProvider
    ** sun.security.jgss.wrapper.SunNativeProvider
    It would be nice if I don't have to implement a JNI wrapper for gsskrb5.dll (even using JNA which seems good enough). If there is any way I can just "plug in" the correct configuration if Sun's classes are prepared for using an external implementation, would make me happy :))

      DATA: BEGIN OF ITAB_LS OCCURS 0,
              LINE(200),
            END   OF ITAB_LS.

    Another way is to write the file via OPEN DATASET ..., TRANSFER ... TO ..., CLOSE DATASET.

  • Alternative APIs for reading Zip files?

    Hi all.
    At the moment, our application handles zip files by copying the zip file to the temp directory and then creating a new ZipFile. However, the larger the zip file we encounter, the slower this copy becomes. We also need random access to the Zip file, so the usual workaround of using ZipInputStream is also slow, although slightly faster for random access than copying the entire file.
    I raised a bug requesting a better constructor for ZipFile, but it was turned down as they seemed to think I didn't want random access.
    But does anyone know of any alternative APIs which can access Zip files in a more random access fashion? I've discovered a few other alternative implementations of ZipFile, but all of them so far have had this issue of requiring a File.

    intensive. I am basically searching through zip
    files to find a file and then taking that inputstream
    for processing. I am basically looping through the
    zip file until i match the filename....pretty crazy.I think it is pretty I/O intensive...hence slower
    to see what I can do to increase performance. I am
    using the following parameters:
    -Xms512m -Xmx1024M -Xss16M -XX:ThreadStackSize=256
    -XX:MaxPermSize=256m
    Parameters look ok. I am not sure what -XX:ThreadStackSize will do as -Xss also sets the stack size? you can also try to pass -server and keep both Xms and Xmx to 1024 and see if it brings any improvement.

  • Java Web Start 1.6 fails to start application without Java Consol on Vista

    Hi All,
    I've faced with problem related to starting my application in IE 7 on Vista SP1 using Java Web Start (JRE 1.6.0_12 and 1.6.0_13). I suppose that issue appears after 11th update of JRE 1.6 since it works fine before.
    There were set settings to indicate initial and maximal size of the Java heap in the JNLP file.
    Application consist of 2 JAR files and they are signed with the same certificate.
    When user tried to start application there is no any activity after accepting certificate. After starting application javaw.exe just disappeared from processes list without any message or error.
    When I changed default setting in Java Control Panel to show Java Console, I noticed that the application began to start. But it's not a solution of the issue, since all customers cannot be required to turn on Java console.
    I believe this is a bug in JRE as the application starts with Java console and doesn't without it.
    When I browsed the web looking for the solution or an advice I found Release notes for 1.6.0_014 where it was said that 6u14 Java Web Start failed to launch and notifies that JARs were not signed, if an insecure Java system property was specified in a sandbox JNLP file. In spite of that 14th updated wasn't used and there was no notification I tried to start application without settings for the Java heap and it worked.
    Could someone help me with advice, since the application cannot be started with default heap size settings.
    Thanks in advance.
    Edited by: vovanst on Jul 28, 2009 8:06 AM

    Hi,
    as the 6u15 just arrived and the above mentioned bug should've been fixed (though I was unable to verify through the release notes), the error is still in there.
    We have no timestamped jars, neither ours nor the bouncy castle ones, all certs are valid, ours is self signed.
    6u13 runs, 6u14/6u15 won't.
    I followed the instructions here: http://bouncycastle.org/devmailarchive/msg10415.html to no avail.
    The bcprov.jar is wrapped in its own jnlp and referred as extension from the "main" jnlp.
    The interesting parts of the stack trace are these:
    Caused by (via getCause): java.lang.SecurityException: JCE cannot authenticate the provider BC
         at javax.crypto.Cipher.getInstance(DashoA13*..)
         at javax.crypto.Cipher.getInstance(DashoA13*..)

         at javax.crypto.Cipher.getInstance(DashoA13*..)
         at javax.crypto.Cipher.getInstance(DashoA13*..)
    For me it seems there's a problem with resolving the url of the bcprov.jar, which would explain the lack of a delay which normally occurs when JCE verifies the signature of the bcprov provider classes. The error pops up almost instantly.
    I'm clueless what to do now. Did Sun really achieve to completely destroy JCE provider functionality in Javaws, forcing us to use an alternative implementation?

  • Error in filling the table.

    Hi to all
            I am trying to fill the setup table for 2lis_03_bf.But i am getting the following error
    : No extract structure active or no bw connected.
    when i intimated to onsite team this very simple issue i ahve to active the D.S.When i checked it is in active only.Please give me some solution.
    Thanks to all

    Hi
    Take a look at this SAP OSS Note 914268
    Symptom
    Within an instance, you use the NetWeaver components of SAP ERP and BW.
    When you execute transactions like to fill rebuild tables in Logistics, the system issues the termination message M2 630:
         No extraction structure active or no BW connected
    The connection test and the settings for the Myself source system are definitely correctly maintained.
    Other terms
    OLTP, extractor, data extraction, DataSource, API service, SAPI, RSA2_SERV_BW_CONNECTED, OLI1BW, OLIZBW, OLI3BW, OLI9BW, 2LIS_XX_XXX, M2630, SBIW, LIS, rebuild
    Reason and Prerequisites
    The problem is caused by a program error.
    Prerequisites:
    Within an instance, you are using the NetWeaver components of SAP ERP and BW. Thus, potential data loading processes are executed by using the Myself source system connection.
    No other BW system is connected for data as a target system.
    Cause:
    Prior to NetWeaver, you could not operate ERP and BW in one common system. For this reason, the case that Logistics data need to be loaded into the same system for BW functions was not considered. The system as "source system" does not recognize that the system is connected as a "BW system".
    Solution
    To correct the problem, you need Service API 7.00 Support Package 08 or PI 2004.1 4.6C Support Package 13 in the affected source system. The attached composite SAP note informs you on which software components contain Service API 7.0 and lists the corresponding Support Packages of these components.
    Alternatively, implement the attached program corrections.
    In the BW system, you only need to implement the correction if the BW system is affected in its role as a source system for itselt (myself connection) or for another BW system.
    Caution: Service API is an internal component. Therfore, it is not delivered separately but as a part of other software components: PI, CRM, PI_BASIS and several others. Thus, a composite SAP note is created for each SAPI correction note. This composite note describes which Support Packages of the above mentioned software components contain the SAPI correction. However, the composite SAP note will only be released when the corresponding SAPI Support Packages are released.

    Hi Guru's,
    I am new to SDN and my query is with regard to SAP BW / SAP R/3 connection. I checked in rsa1 source system right click and check and that worked fine for r/3 source system. And also checked sm59 in both r/3 and bw and found both the logical systems defined.
    Now I started working with LO cockpit customization(lbwe screen). First maintained the extract structure for sales,  then went deleted the setup tables and activated the data source. I started filling the setup tables and I get the message no activated extract structures available or no bw connection will be available.i used oli7bw and also tried using stand tcode sbiw for filling setup tables.
    I am surprised becoz the extract structures and datasource 2lis_11_vahdr were active and green in colour. I am not able to run the job in job control. I hope i am clear. Pls tell me how to identify the basis problems and report the same to the appropriate persons. Or there is anything wrong from my side.

  • Intermittent Bug - htmldb_Get clobbers DOM body element - Apex4

    Hello,
    We recently started the process of upgrading to Apex4 and have had an issue with a call to htmldb_Get clobbering the DOM such that the body tag is emptied and thus nothing is rendered in the browser. But before jumping in too deep let me say this problem has been extremely hard to debug because 1) it is intermittent 2) it only happens in Firefox (3.5.X - 3.6.X) on Windows Vista and 3) turning on some debugging tools (like Fiddler) make the problem go away all together.
    How to reproduce:
    Go here:
    http://qa.surveyorhealth.com/meds/f?p=102:1:0
    On this page you will find a link to page 2
    On page2 you will find a link to page 1
    With enough patience, if you click on the two links (jumping back and forth between the pages) you will eventually reach a blank page. I've had to do it upward of 10 minutes before. Please note this does not only happen on MY Vista machine, but three other machines in separate locations, so I'm sure it's not just my browser. Once you get the blank screen if you view source you will see that indeed there is content between the body tags. And, if you have firebug installed, if you view the firebug console you will see that two ajax calls were successfully made (these are calls to htmldb_Get) and if you look at the DOM firebug will report that there is no content in the body tags.
    If you view source you will see two on demand application processes are called. One gets an application item's value and the other is used to set an application item's value (this code I believe was lifted from Carl here in the forums). They are defined like thus:
    returnItem:
    begin
    htp.prn(v(v('RETURNITEM')));
    end;
    returnNothing
    begin
    htp.prn(1);
    end;
    There is a third application process defined at "on load before header". It simply does this:
    :AI_PAGE_REQUESTED := 'YES';
    There are no other application items, application processes, page processes, page items or pages defined in this application. The javascript that calls htmldb_Get can all be seen if you do a view source on either page, they have the same javascript on them.
    This is the most stripped down app I could make that exhibits the problem. It does seem that the stripped down version results in a blank page less often than our actual application. So, in case you run out of patience clicking on those links, let me also give you a link to our application that does it more often, but still intermittent.
    http://qa.surveyorhealth.com/meds/f?p=500:4003:0::NO::::
    Once you visit that link about half way down the page you'll see a few links, one of them will say "Heath Ledger". Click on that link.
    You will now see some accordion type tabs. What you want to do is click the one that says "Example - Celebrity Drug Cocktail" then once that page loads click back to "Side Effects Risk Map". If you jump between these two tabs enough times you'll hit the blank page. Of course the page and application have many more processes, html and javascript in it but it shares the three application processes discussed above with the simplified application.
    Again this only shows up on Vista Firefox 3.5.X-3.6.X so please don't waste your time trying to replicate on a different environment. Also this code never has this problem in our environment that runs on Apex 3.2.0.00.27
    Let me know if you think there is any other information I could provide that would help in debugging. I could also email/ftp an export of the simplified application if it would help.

    Hi Patrick,
    Thanks for the feedback. I replaced page number 0 with $v('pFlowStepId') in both functions but that hasn't fixed the issue. I was missing an application item which was why you were seeing that error about RETURNITEM not in application 102. I've added the item and now the ajax queries are returning correctly (which actually seems to cause the blank page to show up more frequently).
    As for window.location = window.location. I can explain what it does, but for simplicity I just removed it and replaced it with an alert to show that it is not the root of the problem.
    Generally what I'm trying to do is force a page refresh if a user has used the back button. How do I know if they used the back button? If the back button is used then the page is not re-fetched from apex, instead it is pulled out of the browser's cache. I check for this situation by having every page run a pre header processes that sets AI_PAGE_REQUESTED := 'YES'. So the first thing the javascript does on the page is check what the value of that item is. If it is 'YES' then we know the page is being processed with a new request to apex and we're getting the latest content. If it is 'NO' then we know that the page has been pulled from the browser cache and we force the browser to refresh with window.location = window.location. You'll also see in the javascript code if AI_PAGE_REQUESTED != 'YES' then we set its value to NO (again using ajax). In summary it's just a way to force page refreshes when a page was not loaded with a fresh call to apex. And like I said, it worked fine in apex 3.X and works fine in 4.X outside of Firefox 3.6-3.8 in vista... I'm open to alternative implementations if it gets me away from these blank screens.
    I've included a screen shot of the blank screen and the results of the two ajax calls:
    http://qa.surveyorhealth.com/i/screens/blank-screen.gif
    Thanks again for your help Patrick.

  • VERY strange lag on a Dell Optiplex 760

    I thought it would be a good idea to keep a 16GB flash drive on my keychain that booted Arch so I could work on HW for college in a consistent OS!  Everything is working great so far, but I ran into a very strange problem with a Dell Optiplex 760.  During the normal Arch init process, everything loads great, except for when it gets to the udev stage where everything hangs.  But here's the strange part of this scenario: the problems go away when I start typing random keys or move the mouse!  If I don't do this, the system hangs completely from what I can tell.  This happens at the console and with X.
    The service tag for this machine is FDCQQJ1, and the dell.com driver area brings up this list of hardware and (windows) drivers for it.

  • Problem webutil on server

    Hi all.
    I have a problem with webutil on the server-side.
    On my client-machine (operating system windows xp service pack2) everything it is ok. But when I run webutil on the server (operating system Linux), I have this message error:
    "The webutil object group is not available in this form. Webutil cannot work.
    Webutil error: oracle.forms.webutil.olefunctions bean not found. CLIENT_OLE2.create_obj will not work."
    The thing that is strange is that local on my machine everything is ok. I have tried to cancel the library and the object group from the form and then to re-attach them, but the result is the same: local on my machine it's ok and on the server I have got the message above.
    Is there anyone that can help me???
    Thanks, Fabrizio

    Dear Fabrizo ;
    I am so sorry i did not work on Linux plafrom befor,
    but i think it has the same configuraion as windows.so if you check webutil configuration again and again i think it could work.
    and this is webutil configuration

    1- ....................... The Principles of the WebUtil Design .
    2- ....................... HOW TO CONFIGURE AND DEPLOY WEBUTIL .
    3- ....................... HOWT O ATTACH IT IN UR FORM .
    1 - The Principles of the WebUtil Design :-
    The aim of WebUtil is to provide a utility that any Forms developer can use to carry
    out complex tasks on the client browser computer by simply coding in PL/SQL.
    Although WebUtil itself uses Java extensively, there is no need for the developer to
    have any understanding of Java. Everything the developer needs to do is exposed
    through a standard PL/SQL library webutil.pll.
    All of the components that are needed to support WebUtil are likewise exposed
    through a simple object group.
    For an Oracle Forms application to take advantage of WebUtil, you only need to attach
    the WebUtil library and subclass the Object Group. No setup or configuration in code
    is required as WebUtil is self-configuring and where necessary, self-installing.
    Some features of WebUtil, such as client side OLE integration, require code to be
    installed onto each client computer. One of the key features of WebUtil is its ability to
    "self-install" in these cases. There is no need for an administrator to configure each and
    every computer because WebUtil detects which client-side pieces are missing and
    automatically installs them.
    Another aim of WebUtil is to simplify porting of client server integration code to work
    on the client browser computer. To achieve this, WebUtil contains PL/SQL APIs mimic
    the behavior of the equivalent native Forms functions.
    An example of this is the Forms TEXT_IO package. This package provides the
    developer with facilities to read and write text files on the application server. WebUtil
    provides an alternative implementation, CLIENT_TEXT_IO, which is identical to
    TEXT_IO except that calls are implemented on the client browser computer rather than
    on the middle tier. Migrating existing code to operate on the client can be achieved
    using a simple search and replace operation in the PL/SQL code to changes references
    to point at the alternative "CLIENT" implementations provided by WebUtil.
    The final goal of WebUtil design is to add value to Oracle Forms as a product. WebUtil
    adds capabilities to Forms which have simply not existed before in either web or client
    server deployments.

  • How to reload sound modules?

    I'm using alsa + pulse sound system. I also have Openbox as a stand-alone WM and lightDM,  but the same thing occurs on my debian testing + gnome. I've been trying to solve this issue for several days but with no success.
    Below is the output from alsa-info.sh script
    http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=9f32f … f7cdddcc40
    Installed packages:
    morfik:~$ pacman -Qs alsa
    local/alsa-lib 1.0.27-1
    An alternative implementation of Linux sound support
    local/alsa-plugins 1.0.27-1
    Extra alsa plugins
    local/alsa-utils 1.0.27-4
    An alternative implementation of Linux sound support
    local/pulseaudio-alsa 2-2
    ALSA Configuration for PulseAudio
    morfik:~$ pacman -Qs pulse
    local/libao 1.1.0-3
    Cross-platform audio output library and plugins
    local/libcanberra-pulse 0.30-3
    PulseAudio plugin for libcanberra
    local/libpulse 3.0-3
    A featureful, general-purpose sound server (client library)
    local/paprefs 0.9.10-2
    A simple GTK-based configuration dialog for PulseAudio
    local/pavucontrol 2.0-1
    A GTK volume control tool for PulseAudio
    local/pulseaudio 3.0-3
    A featureful, general-purpose sound server
    local/pulseaudio-alsa 2-2
    ALSA Configuration for PulseAudio
    Everything works fine until hibernation. After my system goes up, one speeker (of 4) is missing, I mean that 3 others play sound well, but the rear-left is silent. I don't know what is wrong, but on debian I can deal with it by reloading sound modules:
    $ pulseaudio -k
    # alsa force-reload
    $ pulseaudio -D
    But unfortunately there is no such a thing like "alsa" in Arch. When I type alsa force-reload on my debian, I get this:
    root:/# alsa force-reload
    Unloading ALSA sound driver modules: snd-ca0106 snd-seq-midi snd-seq-midi-event snd-rawmidi snd-ac97-codec snd-pcm snd-page-alloc snd-seq snd-seq-device snd-timer.
    Loading ALSA sound driver modules: snd-ca0106 snd-seq-midi snd-seq-midi-event snd-rawmidi snd-ac97-codec snd-pcm snd-page-alloc snd-seq snd-seq-device snd-timer.
    I tried to change a little pulse settings in /etc/pusle/daemon.conf but this does nothing. Now the file looks like this:
    daemonize = yes
    allow-exit = yes
    use-pid-file = yes
    exit-idle-time=0
    resample-method=speex-float-0
    default-sample-rate = 44100
    alternate-sample-rate = 48000
    default-sample-channels = 4
    default-channel-map = front-left,front-right,rear-left,rear-right
    I can't use hibernation because after my system comes to life, I have to reboot it in order to make sound work properly.
    I don't know what info I should provide, so if you want to know something more about configuration of my pc, feel free and ask, I'll post the info as soon as possible.

    Raynman -- thanks for the hint. I looked for the alsa script on debian, and it exists, so I moved it to arch.
    This is the script:

    After hibernation, the script provides sound as expected. I also notticed that I can reload only snd-ca0106 and the sound comes back.
    Now I have to make a .service file that could make my sound work. But I need more info how to do so.

  • Exception in sending message thru SOAP from java file to web service

    Hi,
    I am trying to invoke a web service from a java file.
    But my code error out at particular statement where I am sending the message i.e. at
    SOAPMessage reply = connection.call(message, destination);
    The error message is
    java.security.privilegedactionexception: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: Message send failed: For Input string "".
    I am using the wsdl link in destination variable-
    String destination = "http://soad.xxxxxxxxxx.org:80/soa-infra/services/default/xxxxxx/xxxxxxx?WSDL";
    Please help me with the solution.

    Guys, any ideas because this is driving me a bit insane...
    If you have any alternative implementations I'm open to them but I'd like to know why isn't this working really...

  • [solved] SD card in my card reader does not appear as a device

    Greetings.
    I have an Asus EEE 1015PEM netbook, which has a built-in card reader.
    I found some old SD cards that I am trying to get files from. When I insert them into the SD card reader in my netbook, the SD card does not appear as a device, and thus, I cannot mount it.

    Come to think of it, I am not sure I ever tried my SD card reader since I installed Arch on the machine (the machine was running Ubuntu before that, and there, inserting an SD card would trigger some automount magic).
    You guys know what I can do to access the files on my SD cards?
    Cheers,
    Willard.
