ALV download to local file, splits line in two

Dear Abapers,
I have a quite wide ALV report, when downloading to local file, I get the "long" line splitted in 2 (in case of spreadsheet format) and in 3 in case of unconverted format.
Is there a turn arround in order to have only one line?
It's not an excel limitation, once there are enough columns to paste the "lower" part of the line on the right of the "upper" part.

Hi,
I download the report, pressing the "Local File... (CtrlShiftF9) icon on the ALV, after I choose "Uncoverted" or "Spreadsheet" radio button. If by "Excel in place" you mean press the "Microsoft Excel" icon, for some stransge reason, on my pc and some other users this doesn works, nothing happens or a blank spreadsheet is opened, if you mean something else, plese revert, once I didn't understand it correctly.

Runtime Error during export ALV Grid to Local File and Print Priview

Hi all,
         While Exporting ALV grid to local file using menu List->export->local file , I m getting following runtime error,
         Field Symbol has not yet been assigned.
Details of Errors:
Program : SAPLKKBL
Include :   LKKBLF99
Module Type : (FORM)
module name : GEN_FIELD_OUT2
So. pls Suggest any good solution.

this is happening just because you might have declared that your ALV list should have a checkbox, but defined no field as "checkbox" into your internal table.
and one more thing to check up is that before you call the REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY, you need to fill a few parameters for instance is_layout. This one has a field box_fieldname, in which you have to enter the name of the field of the internal table that will store the 'X' as and when the checkbox is checked.

Export alv grid to local file

Hi all,
         I m displaying records using ALV Grid , I want to export that ALV Grid to Local File ,
using Menu->List->Export->Local File.
       I m able to export it in spreadsheet using option List-> Export->Spreadsheet, but while exporting to local file i m getting short dump with error *Field Symbol Has not yet been Assigned*.
Pls, Suggest any good Solution.

In your output are there any empty Columns, Because field Symbol Not assigned generally occurs if any one of your Internal table column is Blank, Just remove that Blank Column and then try it.

Unable to download data in ALV output with local file option

Hi,
I am displaying ouput in ALV grid display.Its showing output fine.When i am trying to down load the data into Excel file from ALV ouput .when i am downloaded the data by using Local file option,its down loading the data but its not downloading all the fields.
Could you plz provide me solution.Thanks!

Just Check that one of your parameters is defined in lower case letters.
Earlier it used to give dump on execution but now if you download then it will give ABAP dump.
I have seen this problem many times.

Heading during downloading into local file using GUI_DOWNLOAD fun.module

we have a requirement that we want the plant description as a heading (first line of the file) in the local file. iam using "GUI_DOWNLOAD" function module for downloading data for which iam passing the charecter type internal table. before downloading iam passing all the filed headings to that table and then appending the internal table data into it. now iam getting data properly with field headings . but before that heading i want one more description for a plant field which iam using in my selection screen
in the fun.module "GUI_DOWNLAOD"
we have HEADER file but it is of XSTRING type so it is taking only 2 char.
so how to use this . Plz help me.

Down loading ALV List to local file /print

We have a program that displays data on an ALV list. Then, when you click on the 'Print' icon, or try to download to a local file, it gives a short dump with a message 'OBJECTS_NOT_CHARLIKE'.

Saving ALV Grid to Local File issue - Missing half of the report

Hi Experts, Good Day.
I have developed an ALV Grid report using class CL_SALV_TABLE which displays 200 Columns and 100+ rows/records. It is displaying well, but when I am saving the output into local file (any type) there only 98 columns are downloading and remaining all the columns are missing.
I would like to know whether there is any restriction for number of columns or what might the problem for it. How can I download all the columns into local file.

Thanks for your response. Even though there are multiple ways to send data to local file I believe all three are same. And even I am facing same issue all the ways. Only 98 Columns data is getting downloaded into Files (it might be .txt, .xls, etc.).
After downloading first 98 Columns, I am hiding the downloaded columns and again I am downloading remaining columns. Then I am merging in the Excel file. This is very complicated for the End-User. So, please help me out.
I have used only following methods for displaying ALV.
For initial object/instance:
CL_SALV_TABLE=>FACTORY,
For ALV functions:
CL_SAVL_TABLE->GET_FUNCTIONS,
CL_SALV_FUNCTIONS_LIST->SET_ALL,
For Column heading and Optimized width:
CL_SALV_TABLE->GET_COLUMNS,
CL_SALV_COLUMNS_TABLE->SET_OPTIMIZE,

SAP Reports downloads to local file - Don't have spreadsheet option.

Hi Experts,
We have problem to download data from SAP report to Excel. From SAP Menu--> List--> Export--> Local file - Don't have spreadsheet option.
Could you please advise why spreadsheet option from local file is removed after upgrade support pack EHP7? As you can see from screen shot below attached , there is no option for spreadsheet .
Can't we get it restored as it used to be before ?

SE16N Export Local File - Header Line Every 60,000 Records

Good Day,
After a recent system upgrade to SAP ECC 6.0 Release 701, Level 007 (from Level 004), we received word that exporting to a local file from SE16N now creates a header line after every 60,000 records. This occurs on both SAP GUI 7.10 Patch 15 and SAP GUI 7.20.
We found notes 1309128 and 1017586, but our service pack level already implements the correction instructions listed. Is there a parameter (either system wide or SAP GUI specific) that needs to be set to disable the header lines? Is there anything else that we can check?

File adapter-How to set line break in text file-split record into two lines

Dear Guru's,
I have to solve following problem with XML (with mulitiple records) to TEXT file scenario using file adapter. I have to output for ever ONE data record in XML always two identical lines in text file. Second line should have a little bit different mapping in few fields like date,... So I did duplicate fileds in my output structure in mapping and need to know how to set line break in the middle and see half of structure in first line and next structure half in second line
My output structure in mapping is:

Question is how can I set on receiving file adapter in Content Conversion Parameters that fields from first structure half INTERFACE...RENDITE should be outputed in one line and fields from second half of structure INTERFACE2...RENDITE2 should start on second line in final text file.
I'm getting at the moment one line only and I need to know how can set line break so that second line starting with INTERFACE2(CA)...RENDITE2 will start in new line.

It wont help if I add two identical structures in mapping because in output i would see for multiple entries section with first lines only and after that section with second lines only. And CASHFLOW is one part of more complex mapping ...
(This is final output structure RecordsetStructure=HEADER,CASHFLOW,CONDITION,REFERENCE,CONTRACT - more sections with different data and all these should have duplicate lines at the end)

Putting constant 'nl' into field CASHFLOW-INTERFACE1 didnt help - still getting one line instead two lines.

Output: 8 lines in final text file ...

actually in my aliv report output OA no contains 10 characters (0010100276) but after saving into local file (excel) , it appearing in excel file only 7 characters(1010027) any one plz tell what is the reason how we rectify it.......

Hello Ganesh,
When you export the file from SAP to your PC, select "unconverted" radio button. Enter a file name and path, then save it with a text file (.txt) extension. Then do the following steps on your PC.
1. Open the Excel application.
2. Open the text file in the application. The system will automatically open the text import wizard.
3. Select "Fixed Width", then press next pushbutton.
4. After you parse the columns, press next pushbutton.
5. Go to the column where you want to keep leading zeros. Select "Text" in the "Column data format" box.

Album download relabels itself and splits itself into two separate album folders

I have purchased and downloaded an album from a reputable and legal independent website that I have successfully used in the past, but the album folder seems to have a glitch.
When I download the album it labels itself "Standard" instead of by the name of the album title, like it usually does. Then when I add it to my iTunes library, it relabels itself to the album name and subsequently splits itself into two separate album folders. 9 random tracks located in one folder, 13 in the other. The only difference between the labels of the two album folders is that one has an underscore at the end of it. I have exhausted all my trouble shooting tricks like ensuring all the common metadata is the same (artist, album, sorting, grouping, genre, playlist etc) and deleting and re-downloading, and subsequently copying and pasting files into the correct place but the same thing keeps happening.
I have downloaded all the latest software updates on my iMac 10.10.1 and use OS X Yosemite. I have tried clearing my cache, cookies and webpage history and then downloading again using a completely different browser without success. I've even tried dragging and dropping files from one folder into the other, again without success. I would be grateful for any expert advice.

It's a bug that has been there for years.
There are workarounds, but you have to do them every time an album gets split. And that will happen every time you change an artist name or an album name (whether it's to change it to proper capitalization, or other reasons). There is no permanent solution.
Workaround #1:
1. Select all the tracks from the album
2. Right click and select "Get Info"
3. Change the album name by deleting, let's say, the last letter and press "OK"
4. Change the album name back.
Workaround #2:
1. Select all the tracks from the album
2. Right click and select "Get Info"
3. Change the artist name by deleting, let's say, the last letter and press "OK"
4. Change the artist name back.
Workaround #3:
1. Select all the tracks from the album
2. Right click and select "Get Info"
3. Go to "Options"
4. Check (or uncheck, if it's already check) the "Part of a compilation" box and press "OK"
P.S. Some smart person moved this thread from the "iTunes U" forum to the "iTunes for Mac" forum. But the OP clearly said he runs iTunes on Windows.

While Saving ALV report in Local File getting error

Did one alv report.
Getting output properly , but while saving(downloading) the output result getting Dump from system.
Runtime Errors         GETWA_NOT_ASSIGNED
Short text
     Field symbol has not yet been assigned.
What happened?
     Error in the ABAP Application Program
     The current ABAP program "SAPLKKBL" had to be terminated because it has
     come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
NOT GETTING WHERE EXACTLY IT IS WRONG....
Please suggest the solution..

Usually this is due to wrong fieldcatalog, or inconsistenecy between field catalog, internal table or some fields of the layout (bselect box or lights for example) -> The FIRST thing to do is the execution of [The Consistency Check|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_470/helpdata/en/d6/23253963143e6ae10000000a11402f/frameset.htm], then correct the program to adjust field catalog or layout.

Increase pdf font size when downloaded as local file.

When I downloaded PDF from ALV output .The font size in pdf is very small because output table have large data ..
Is there any way so we can change the page size and increase the font size.
