Alv grid background column headings
HI EVERYONE,
I was able to execute the ALV grid report in background .But columns heading is reeating for
each page.
Can't we just just have the Column Headings once for all pages.?
For the IS_LAYOUT parameter it is possible to set NO_COLHEAD = 'X'. Then the header is gone. Then you have to create first line in table with texts. But then all fields must be character fields.

ALV Grid Background Coulmn headings issue
Hi Guys,
I was able to execute the ALV grid report in background .When i am looking into the Spool o/p columns heading is reeating for each page.
Can't we just just have the Column Headings once for all pages.?
The problem with this is when i downloaded it into Excel from Spool column headingare displayed multiple times.
Thanks,
Chand.Hi,
While executing in background, it will ask for the print parameters, somewhere you will be giving the spool length and width (by default it is 65 * 80 i guess). Hence it is truncating the characters which are exceeding this limit.
Hence try changing this one to the maximum available one. It will work.
If you need a bigger one which is not available in the options available, then your BASIS people have to create the new one. -
Multiple Hotspots in a ALV Grid single column
Hi Experts,
My ALV Grid report output looks like below....
If you observe below output, column 3 has multiple documents each one separated by ' ; '. Now, I would like to assign hotspot on each documents like DOC1, DOC2, DOC3, etc.
Heading#: COL1 | COL2 | COL3 |
Records1: 1 | xxxxx | _DOC1_ ; DOC2 ; *DOC3*
Records2: 2 | xxxxx | _DOC1_ ; DOC5 ;
I know, we can assign hotspot for entire column. but my requirement is multiple hot spots in a single column.
Please help me on this?
Thanks in Advance
RaghuAs I mentioned earlier,
My ALV Grid report output looks like below....
Heading#: FIELD1 | FIELD2 | FIELD3 |
Records1: 1 | xxxxx | DOC1 ; DOC2 ; DOC3
Records2: 2 | xxxxx | DOC1 ; DOC5 ;
If you observe above output, field 3 has multiple documents each one separated by ' ; '.
When I click on DOC1, it supposed to display related picture on the POP-Up Screen. Similarly when I click on DOC2, it supposed to display that document picture on POP-up screen.
Before going to do this, first I need to assign hotspots on each documents like DOC1, DOC2, DOC3, etc.
Please help me. -

ALV Grid Exporting to Excel - Columns out of order
Hi,
In my ALV grid everything is in order as it is in the structure. When however I export to excel from ALV grid, the columns are out of order. First it lists the string columns, then number columns and lastly date columns. Is there a way to make excel keep the same order as it is in ALV grid?
Thanks,
SergiyI am not much of an ABAPer but I was able to set the column position during data declaration with
gs_fcat_line-col_pos = 1, for example.
That would put the column in the first position in ALV as well as the excel export.
Thanks for your inputs.

Hi SDN,
I have a ALV grid with columns U1 and U2. I want to filter the records only when U1 = X <b>AND</b> U2 = X . But I need all other combinations of U1 and U2.

Running report with alv grid in background and exporting to excel
Hi Guys,
I've created a report program that uses the alv grid. When I run the report in foreground, I can easily export it to excel. However, if I run it in background, then display the spooled report and try to export to excel, it does not put it in excel format (seems to go over as one big column rather than individual columns that are defined in the report). Is there a way to run it in background ,export to excel properly and i have to email also in Excel sheet format.?
Thanks,
Gopi.In background u cannot do a download to excel. you can do is create CSV format file
or
write a report for output with tabs then call that report using
submit yXXXX exporting list to memory
and return.
call function 'LIST_FROM_MEMORY'
tables
listobject = report_list
exceptions
not_found = 1
others = 2.
and send the report_list to email users

ALV Grid Report spool problem with column with no data
Hello All,
I have created a simple alv grid report the report has a description field of 40 ch for which I have made the display length as 20 ch . This works fine in the foreground but when I run the report in background when there is no data in this column this being overwritten with the next column. Which is causing a mismatch between the header and the data below it.
Also when I try to download the report in foreground into excel the columns are not matching with the headers this again happens for columns when there is no data.
Kindly please suggest what is going wrong.
Thanks,
ranjanHi,
For checking the output from background job, check the job and enter JDBG in the command bar and execute.
Check the field catalog and the table contents in debugging just before display.

Print headings using RSBTCHH0 on ALV grids
Most reports I have developed use the list processing event top-of-page to print headings for the report listing by calling standard SAP subroutine BATCH-HEADING in program RSBTCHH0 when structure BHDGD has been populated. Field BHDGD-LINES contains the line size used for printing the report headings. When we use ABAP objects to print data in the ALV grid we can add the same processing to print page headings to event PRINT_TOP_OF_PAGE. It appears as if the heading data is printed until the position of last column of the grid before the text is wrapped, creating a new line. Is there anyway of controlling the default line-size when doing grid printing.
Thanks in advance

The heading are in the table pt_fcat - you don't seem to be passing that in form....
PERFORM setup_and_display_alv_ver2
USING
it_out_alvp "Parameter structure
it_output[] "Internal Data table(header table)
it_output[]. "Dummy table for Hierarchical ALV!!(item table)
which I guessing in in one of the includes?
Saying that the extract pof code does not show where you are calling form it_out_alv_fieldcat_before ...which populates the headings...
