ALV Grid Background Coulmn headings issue

Hi Guys,
            I was able to execute the ALV grid report in background .When i am looking into the Spool o/p columns heading is reeating for each page.
            Can't we just just have the Column Headings once for all pages.?
             The problem with this is when i downloaded it into Excel from Spool column headingare displayed multiple times.

Hi,
While executing in background, it will ask for the print parameters, somewhere you will be giving the spool length and width (by default it is 65 * 80 i guess). Hence it is truncating the characters which are exceeding this limit.
Hence try changing this one to the maximum available one. It will work.
If you need a bigger one which is not available in the options available, then your BASIS people have to create the new one.

For the IS_LAYOUT parameter it is possible to set NO_COLHEAD = 'X'. Then the header is gone. Then you have to create first line in table with texts. But then all fields must be character fields.

ALV GRID edit mode keyboard issue

Hi,
I have created a program that displays an ALV GRID.
From the Layout I said to edit in edit mode the ALV Grid.
In the menu toolbar I exclude the button 'cut - copy -paste and delete line'.
When I run the program I see that these buttons are not displayed --> OK.
BUT my problem is: if I use the keyboard then the ALV Grid manages these actions.
For instance. I select some lines and press the key DELETE on the keyboard --> the lines are removed and that is not that I expect because I removed this action from the toolbar.
For the cut - copy and paste it's the same.
Do you have a solution for me --> intercept an event or change the function keys or ....
I would like that the ALV Grid does not manage the keys delete, CRTL-C, CRTL-V in edit mode.

I was not aware of this. So, I recommend you to try this:
At the event "before_user_command" you can terminate the process by resetting the ALV user command.
e.g.
 CASE e_ucomm .
 WHEN '&INFO' .
 CALL METHOD gr_alvgrid->set_user_command
 EXPORTING i_ucomm = space.
 ENDCASE .
This code within the event overrides the '&INFO' function and terminates its process. For cut and copy, you can find out ucomm values by putting a break point inside the event and tracing the value of "i_ucomm".

Saving ALV Grid to Local File issue - Missing half of the report

Hi Experts, Good Day.
I have developed an ALV Grid report using class CL_SALV_TABLE which displays 200 Columns and 100+ rows/records. It is displaying well, but when I am saving the output into local file (any type) there only 98 columns are downloading and remaining all the columns are missing.
I would like to know whether there is any restriction for number of columns or what might the problem for it. How can I download all the columns into local file.

Thanks for your response. Even though there are multiple ways to send data to local file I believe all three are same. And even I am facing same issue all the ways. Only 98 Columns data is getting downloaded into Files (it might be .txt, .xls, etc.).
After downloading first 98 Columns, I am hiding the downloaded columns and again I am downloading remaining columns. Then I am merging in the Excel file. This is very complicated for the End-User. So, please help me out.
I have used only following methods for displaying ALV.
For initial object/instance:
CL_SALV_TABLE=>FACTORY,
For ALV functions:
CL_SAVL_TABLE->GET_FUNCTIONS,

Data not getting displayed in ALV grid when run in background

Hello experts!
Could anyone help me out please?
I need to display an ALV grid in the background. My requirements are as follows:
I first display an ALV grid in the foreground based on some input parameters. The user selects a few records for updating it and clicks on the "update" button. On the click of this button another report must be called and here the ALV report is displayed in the background.I am using "reuse_alv_grid_display" to display the grid.
I am using Import/Export to get the selected rows in my called report. When i execute this report in the foreground i get the ALV grid along with the data. But when i execute it in the background, i get only the grid with the fieldnames and not the data when i check in SP01.

Hi Smitha,
If you are able to see in SP01 and only see the output layout or "List contains no data" shows clealry that the data is not getting passed in the called program or the data is not being used correctly in the called program.

Running report with alv grid in background and exporting to excel

Hi Guys,
              I've created a report program that uses the alv grid. When I run the report in foreground, I can easily export it to excel. However, if I run it in background, then display the spooled report and try to export to excel, it does not put it in excel format (seems to go over as one big column rather than individual columns that are defined in the report). Is there a way to run it in background ,export to excel properly and i have to email also in Excel sheet format.?

In background u cannot do a download to excel. you can do is create CSV format file
or
write a report for output with tabs then call that report using
submit yXXXX exporting list to memory
           and return.

Check the below code.
WA_FCAT-SELTEXT_M   = TEXT-073.
WA_FCAT-DDICTXT      = 'M'.
We can define the name of the field label as mentioned above, where texto073 is nothing but the field label you want to give to the particular field.
DDICTXT you have to mention the length as small 'S', medium 'M' and large as 'L'.

Print headings using RSBTCHH0 on ALV grids

Most reports I have developed use the list processing event top-of-page to print headings for the report listing by calling standard SAP subroutine BATCH-HEADING in program RSBTCHH0 when structure BHDGD has been populated. Field BHDGD-LINES contains the line size used for printing the report headings. When we use ABAP objects to print data in the ALV grid we can add the same processing to print page headings to event PRINT_TOP_OF_PAGE. It appears as if the heading data is printed until the position of last column of the grid before the text is wrapped, creating a new line. Is there anyway of controlling the default line-size when doing grid printing.

Submit...to Spool in background, ALV Grid

Hello,
I am trying to using the SUBMIT to SPOOL statement for SAP std. program RKPEP003.
Now this works well when i execute in the foreground mode but doesnt work in the background mode, it gives an error "Make an Entry in All Required fields"
RKPEP003 output is ALV Grid, so is this the probable reason or something else becoz the code works fine in the foreground mode

Background Execution Problem-Docking Container with 2 ALV Grids in one scre

I have created 2 ALV Grids in one screen - one below another using DOCKING CONTAINER.
The objects are 'g_dock_cont' and 'g_dock_cont1'.
I am getting the foreground output as expected with 2 ALV Grids.
While executing in background (F9), I am getting only output of first ALV grid. Second ALV is not getting displayed in BACKGROUND(F9) mode.

What i was saying is that you need to code again for background mode of execution.

Issue with ALV grid print preview/spool

Hello everyone,
I am working on a report and I am having some issues with ALV grid. Currently in our DEV and QA environments the user can run the report, view the ALV grid, and print the grid without any issues.
However this isn't the case in the Prod environment. The user is able to run the report and view the grid without any issues. But when they click print preview or click print, the spool is incorrect. It shows the proper values from the grid, but the first field is reduced in length. Rather than showing a numeric field of length 10 it shows 99999999# or 99999999...
The programs are identical through every environment, including user parameters, formats, and spool settings. I have been told printing grids may have some issues, does anyone have any advice or dealt with this issue before?

Background task problem with alv grid display

ALV GRID FORMAT IN BACKGROUND

Dear All,
There is t code called MB51 which the user use, we recommend them to execute that report in the background using this method -- t code-- execute in background--- enter the printer name and generate the temporary spool to veiw the report, however when we veiw that report using spo2, the tool bar (that comes when we execute in the foreround) is missing, which is used to veiw it in the ALV grid format, actually the user easily select the feilds in that format and download them to excel sheets, in the background that " Details" option is not there, is there any work around for this.

1.How do I generate the xml code, relevant to formatting that I did in ALV Grid using the FM "REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY"?
2. How do I go about saving the xml file onto the Application server?
3. Can you please provide any sample ALV report code, where such XML formatting has been used?

Can someonen plz tell me if I execute my report (with Grid ALV Display) in background (sy-batch not initial ) , will the ALV Grid be displayed ?
If no, then in order to show success do I have to 'WRITE' the success message ?

The grid will be generated as a list & spool will be generated. REUSEALVGRID* FM handles this explicitly no need to code for it.
You do not need to use WRITE for this
