Alv to excelsheet

how to download the alv report output list to excel?

Hi Sunil,
In the applicatioin tool bar click on Local File (Ctrl + Shift + F9), then choose spreadsheet  and give the file path name where you want to download.
Hope this is what you were looking for.
If from the coding point of view then you can use FM to do that.

  • Problem in exporting ALV Layout to excelsheet!!!

    Hi,
I am facing a problem while trying to export an ALV layout to Excel sheet. While the values appear correctly, the order of the columns gets distorted. So the table in Excel appears with correct values but with columns in disarray. I have checked the settings of Excel (SECURITY LEVEL is Medium and TRUSTED SOURCES "Trust All Installed Add-Ins and Templates" and "Trust Access to Visual Basic Project" is checked.) and its doesn’t seem to be change anything.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi,
Follow the below procedures to export data to excel.
    Normal ALV :
Click on the local file option and select spreadsheet option from the radio button list and click on ok , file save window will open , select the correct directory path and give the file name , then ALV contents will be downloaded into Excel sheet.
    In OO ALV :
click on the Export button in the ALV toolbar ->click on the spreadsheet , then information message window will open , select ok button , then you will get three options , click on the table option and press ok , data will be exported to Excel sheet , then save the excel data in specified directory.

  • Incorrect date is being saved in excelsheet downloaded from ALV display

    Hi ,
When I use export to spreadsheet option in ALV display (function REUSE_ALV_DISPLAY )  then Delivery date 10.02.2011 is being saved as 402213(some number not date format) .
Can you please suggest , what 's wrong in the report.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
Just check your fieldcatalog. If all the fields are in right order and all.
Genearlly excel download issues occur because of errors in Field Catalog.

  • Download greater than 255 characters from alv into excel sheet

    Hi,
I have an ALV grid display report where the last field contains close to 600 characters of text.
When I use the Export -> Local File -> Spreadsheet option and save it in an excel sheet, only first 255 characters are getting downloaded into excelsheet and rest is not gettting downloaded.
Solution I have is: Keep a button on the screen. If that button is clicked, use GUI_DOWNLOAD FM  and the entire text (all 600 chars) gets downloaded.
Is there any other solution to the above problem?
I tried downloading the alv report into XML format and opened as an excel document, but even then only first 255 characters are apearing in excel cell.
The domain has length 2048 chars for the final internal table in alv, so there is no problem with data element or domain.
OIn debugging mode, I am able to see all the 600 chars in the final internal table before alv display.
It looks like there is a constraint in alv that is can display only 255 characters in a cell.
ALso, I tried converting the grid display to list display and then download into excel , but the result is same.
    Please help.

  • S_ALR_87012284 Report when exported to Excelsheet shows as empty

    Hi all,
When the report S_ALR_87012284 is executed , it gives an ALV Grid output. But when exported to excelsheet by clicking on Microsoft Excel View, it is showing as empty. This is happening to end-users.
But when I executed the transaction in my system, it is working fine.
Could this be because of  language settings of the Microsoft Excel...?
They are using the Chinese version of MS Excel.
    Regards,
    Shail.

    Shail,
This could be due the excel security settings. Ask the user to do this when he see a blank excel report. Click on tools-Macro-Security. Security Level should be Medium. In the next tab Trusted Publishers both the check boxes should be checked on and Press OK. Now go back out of the report and execute once again to go back to excel. The user should now see the report in excel.
    Thanks

  • Reg no of columns in alv

    Hi,
Am displaying 113 columns in alv, when i export to excelsheet only 99 columns are exported remaining are not exported. plz tell how to export all the columns.
    tanks,
    vino.

    Hi Vino,
The process for downloading into excel with correct columns can be done in many ways
I suggest you to read the following and then go about for a trial and error and in case you find difficulty revert back
After generating a report, it is possible to export it into Microsoft Excel and/or Microsoft Word using three different options. Each of these options saves the file in a slightly different format. Before using any of these options, you have to set the macro security in your Office products to medium.
Within your Office program, follow the menu path Tools > Macro > Security. Select the Medium security setting. Then click the Trusted Sources tab and ensure all the check boxes are selected. Click OK to save the changes. For the best results, ensure your Office program is closed before performing any of the following actions.
    Save to Local File
Using this export option will retain all of the formatting that you may have done to the report in SAP, such
as moving columns, setting filters and sorts, etc., but will not retain any of the color or font formatting in
SAP, unless you choose the HTML option.
    1. Click (Local file). The Save list in file... box will open.
    2. Choose the desired file type in which to save the file.
u2022 unconverted - tab-delimited file not associated with a program
u2022 Spreadsheet - Microsoft Excel file
u2022 Rich text format - Microsoft Word file
u2022 HTML format - HTML file. This option adds some formatting, which will make it display
similiar to the report in SAP.
    3. Click (Continue). The Transfer DAT to a Local File box will open.
    4. The default location in which to save the file is your "SAPWorkDir" folder. Click (Search) to
    choose another location.
    5. Enter your file name at the end of the path and use the proper extension associated with the file
type you chose in step 2.
    u2022 unconverted - none
    u2022 Spreadsheet - .xls
u2022 Rich text format - .rtf
    u2022 HTML format - .html
    6. Click . The message "XXX Bytes transferred" will display, indicating that your file was
    successful exported.
    Exporting to Microsoft Excel
Using this export option will not retain any of the formatting that you applied in SAP, such as moving
columns, setting filters and sorts, etc. However, it does add a colored background and heading and
    retains the proper column width.
    1. Click (Spreadsheet...). An Information box will open advising you that any formatting you have
applied in SAP will not be exported with the data.
    2. Click (Continue). The Export list object to XXL box will open.
    3. Choose Table and click (Continue).
    4. Click (Continue) again.
    5. Excel will open with the report displayed. You can now format the report and save it as necessary.
    6. In SAP, an Information box opens stating that you should save the data in the spreadsheet. As
soon as you click (Continue), the report in Excel closes, so be sure you have saved it if
    necessary before doing so.
    Opening Microsoft Excel within SAP
This export option will actually open Microsoft Excel within SAP, allowing you to use any of the formatting
or calculation features available in Excel along with the SAP tools. However, modifying the data in the
Excel spreadsheet within SAP will not change the actual data in SAP itself.
    1. Click (Change layout...). The Change layout box will open.
    2. Click the View tab.
    3. Choose the Excel option.
    4. Click on sap_om.xls in the Template list that displays on the right side of the box.
    5. Click (Transfer).
    6. Microsoft Excel will open in the window where the report data was displayed. You can now use all
of the options within Microsoft Excel and SAP to format and manipulate the data as necessary.
    7. To save the file, follow the Excel menu path File > Save Copy As.
    8. To close Excel, click (Change layout...), click the View tab, choose the Grid option, and click
    (Transfer).
    Exporting to Microsoft Word
Using this option will not retain any of the formatting that you applied in SAP, such as moving columns,
setting filters and sorts, etc., and it will export the data in a table within Word.
    1. Click (Word Processing...). The Word Processor Settings box will open.
    2. Choose the Create Document option and select Include Colors and/or Start MS Word if desired.
    3. Click (Continue). The Transfer RTF to a Local File box will open.
    4. The default location in which to save the file is your "SAPWorkDir" folder. Click (Search) to
    choose another location.
    5. Enter the file name at the end of the path and add the extension .rtf.
    6. Click .
    7. If you chose the option to have Word open, it will now open with the data displayed.
    Thanks in advance

  • Excel Features in ALV Is it possible ?

    Hi All,
Basically I am Functional Consultant so I need some clarification on ALV functionality.
As of now our business are using excel sheet to update some BP data and they reload it into SAP CRM since it has cool features like mass update(drag down values along the cell),multiple filtering options within the listed values .
Is it possible to have the above mentioned excel features in ALV or any other application within SAP. If so can you please suggest.
    Thanks,
    Kitcha

OLE or DOI is one way to create a report and call excel to show it immediately. It is like when you click excelsheet button in ALV and the excel open with alv data. same thing.
Moveovers, for DOI, you can save the excel you edited into business document server(BDS).

  • ALV in Microsoft Excel 2000

    Hi.
I am trying to use ALV functionality in Web Dynpro ABAP. When downloading to excel I only see the xml data. Is it possible to use the ALV functionality with Microsoft Excel 2000? If not, is there anyway to use the framework by doing some modifications?
    Thanks!
    /Elvez

    Hi Thomas,
thanks for the reply. OSS note 1064756 is already in the system. When I look at the code, via the debugger, it seems to follow the path for Excel 2000/97. In other words, SAP supports Excel 2000. Nevertheless, when I open the excelsheet it displays the xml data:
    MIME-Version: 1.0
    X-Document-Type: Worksheet
    Content-Type: multipart/related; boundary="----=_NextPart_123"
    ------=_NextPart_123
    Content-Location: file:///C:/xyzhtm
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: text/html
    Content-Type: text/html; charset="utf-8"
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40" xmlns:alv="http://www.sap.com/ALV/2.5" ...>
I tried to remove the part before the <html>-tag and then everything worked fine. Do you know if there is a way to remove the initial information before and after the <html>-tags?
    Thanks!
    /Elvez

  • How to access the local files (Excelsheet) in bsp application

    Hi sdn,
I created a bsp application my requirement is if i click the link it should display the excelsheet and if i perform any updations those updations will be modified int that excel sheet so can any one plz help me out in solving this issue.

    Hi,
I think you shouldn't try to modifiy local files from a server application for security reasons.
But, let's say you have your reasons.
In your BSP, you have a link that points to an MS Excel file. Clicking this link will open the file in MS Excel and users will be able to modify and register it (and save the file in another path/name...).
Another solution would be: create a table form (like ALV?) from the Excel file and save any modifications of the table form into the Excel file. Maybe HTMLB can supports such approach but I don't know HTMLB. I only use HTML and ABAP.
All I said here is just overview of potential solutions. I'm not sure I exactly understood your need. Perhaps other Experts would have better answer for you.
But I hope this will help you.
    Good luck!
    Thomas.

  • Unable to capture data in an editable dynamic ALV.

    Hi ,
I have created a dynamic editable ALV whose displayed structure can be changed at runtime based on the selection in a drop down list value selector.
Im trying to capture the values entered in the ALV into an internal table before the user changes the structure of the ALV to a different structure.
In the ON_SELECT event handler of the drop down list box , im rasing a data_check event to capture the ALV data.
The problem is that the control is not entering the event handler for the data_check event.
If i raise the data_check event in my save event handler or any other event handler , it works fine.
Can someone please suggest a solution.
    Regards,
    Newton.

    Hi ,
I have figured out that the problem is local to my machine , because the code works fine on other machines.
I guess my internet explorer has some bug.

  • '@' not getting displayed in the ALV report

    Hello,
I am facing  a strange issue in the ALV report display. A string starting with '@' is not getting displayed and says "default icon " on the report. and this is varying from system to system for the same user.
can anyone please help me in resolving the issue.
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Santhosh Guptha N.

@ is a default value as per ALV internal process. This is used in icons .
I think this is causing the confusion.
Check in the fieldcat if there is any adjsutment to be made to handle this.

    Vijay
