  • Help Viewer Window - always in front?

    Is there a way to get the Help Viewer Window so that it is not always in front in OS 10.6.2?

    They stay in front because most people want to view the information while working on something. It's hard to follow a list of instructions when you constantly have to pull the viewer to the front each time.
    It would appear that iTweaX option for the viewer does not work. Mac Pilot does not have the configuration. I've checked several other utilities none of which support the option for SL. I guess the option worked in Leo but does not work in SL.

  • Windows always in front

    hey guys, this is probably a dumb questions, but when i have ichat windows open, they are always in front of everything else. for instance, i have safari open, but can't see half the webpage cause the ichat window is in the way. is there a way to change this? i looked in preferences but didnt see it. I could have just missed it though. thanks!

    Turn off that setting in Chax.
    You can set at each iChat Window so you will probably have to deselect it window by window.

    Is there any way to create an action or keyboard shortcut to set the Crop tool to the front window size in Photoshop CS6?
    I find that I use that several times a day. I got used to it being the top choice in the Crop tool presets menu.
    Thanks.

    It depends on whether you have the cloud version or perpetual license version.

  • Finder always opens new windows

    Finder always opens new windows for me. It didn't used to do this (its been doing it at least since I was using 10.5.6), and "Preferences > Always open folders in a new window" is not checked. Any ideas?

    JRokeach,
    Sorry if this sounds to simple, I'm hoping that it is, but in a finder window do you have the toolbar showing? Because if you don't it will open all the folders in there own windows. To fix there is a little button in the top right that hides the toolbar, also if you goto view hide toolbar it will do the same.
    If that isn't the case try removing the com.apple.finder.plist found in Macintosh HD -> Users -> YOUR USER -> Library -> Preferences, and trashing it.
    Hope that helps,

  • Front window desing

    while writing code in block window my block window scrolls right and so is the front window . i want that my fron window shouls not scroll irrespective of the length of the block window. i want to display the controls at specific postion on front window but due to scrolling to right it is not possible at least i could not do it.is there any way to remove scrolling from front window.
    2.i am using config vi in acquiring data. ihave place config vi out of my while loop. i have connected this config vi to a control but every time i need to give channel list is it possible that i can assign the channel list just one time and when ever i start program it takes it automatically.

    There are very few actions on the block diagram that would trigger scrolling of the front panel. Double-clicking on a control or indicator terminal to find the front panel control would do that IF it is otherwise outside the windows boundary. (This often happens if you "create control" or "create indicator" from block diagram items.)
    It is not possible to remove scrolling during an edit session. This is a run mode option.
    For the second question you have at least two options. (1) Make the current values default. (2) replace the controls with diagram constants if you never need to be able to change them at run time.

  • Return to front window the image changes back to the first one

    I have two images loaded in sequence. After loading the second
    image, I put the frame into the background. When I open the image
    frame (to the front window), the first image is shown (but not the
    second as expected). Why and how to show the lastest image?
    Thank you.

    I got the problem solved. Looks like that java keeps all the
    panel objects (even if I assign a panel pointer to null, the
    panel object is still in the Panel object pool); and when
    the buried screen is up to the front window again, java
    calls paintComponent() for all panels, and thus the first
    image panel and 2nd image panel, and so on, but with
    the last created image panel' paintComponent() called
    first, and thus creating the illusion that the iamge is
    returned to the original one and not the lastest one.
    So the solution is to use an integer to label the lastest
    imag panel and use if ( == latest) then draw() in
    paintComponent().

    Open the General tab of the Safari preferences and correct the home page; the default page is this one. If it has become set to a folder on an FTP server or a local drive, that request will be sent to the Finder. (28252)

  • Skype status is always available on windows, even ...

    skype status is always available on windows, even after logging out. how to fix that?

    Alright, so if you have tried the previous steps and it did not work, then let's try something else.
    Do you have another account? If so: Sign into the other account and add yourself. Sign back into your own account and add your other account. Sign off your main account and sign onto your other account and check your online status. If you are still online, you may have followed the previous step improperly or someone may have hijacked your account via the P2P version of Skype (which you should change your password right away so that the other user will be logged out.)
    That being said, you can also have a friend or family member who has you on their contact list call you to determine if the account rings after you knowingly disconnected everywhere. If it rings, someone running under the older protocol of Skype may be utilising your account without your notice (or your account has been hijacked.)
    If, in any situation, you choose to call your own account after you're knowingly offline and someone you do not know answers your call, do not attempt to acquaint with the hijacker or unknown person on your own as it may not be the best course of action to take for recovering your account. Do not interact with those you do not know and simply hang up right away if you do not feel comfortable speaking with the unknown person.
    So let me run down the steps for you:
    Check what others see of you.
    If others still see you online and you followed the previous post completely and it still occurs, change your password immediately. Someone could be using Skype's older protocol to get into your account. Changing your password will sign them off.
    Should you choose to, you can have someone call the always available account and observe the response. If someone responds and you do not know them, do not attempt to get acquainted with them.
    Hopefully, this time around, this solution should help you. I know it sounds complex, but if you're saying you've tried absolutely everything else, then maybe getting creative should be pretty interesting enough to work.

  • Safari always loads small window size have to always increase size pressAA several times. How can I have it bigger by default ?

    Safari always loads small window size It leaves a wide margin on both side of the window. I have to always increase size press AA several times. How can I have it bigger by default ?
    Changing the font size does not work. Many Thanks

    Hi Bee
    This is not what I mean. I'm not a new user of computers. Even when the window fills the screen. There are wide boarders either side,  have to press the AA serveral times to increase web page (in the tool bar top left) so that the web page fits the window.

  • How can I always have popup windows appear on the same screen as PS?

    Hi,
    I'm hoping someone can help me out. I have 3 displays connected to my computer, 1 of which is a tablet screen I don't use all the time. (It gets disabled and put away when I turn on SLI for video gaming, or if I just dont need to draw anything at the moment)
    If I'm drawing something, I'll drag photoshop over to that 3rd screen and do my work. Later, if I want to just crop or resize an image or do simple image manip stuff, I'll drag the window back over to one of my other two screens. The problem I'm facing is that popup dialogs like the open file, save as, preferences; any new window that photoshop opens, appears on whatever monitor it did last time.
    Is there a way to force photoshop to always show those windows centered or at least on the same screen the rest of the program is working on? I've been searching for a while and the closest thing I found was a setting called 'Remember Palette Locations', but it looks like that setting was removed in CS5.
    I'm willing to change preferences, run some kind of reset script any time photoshop starts, or whatever, just something that will bring those new windows onto the screen I'm working on instead of where they last were. I sat perplexed for about 1 minute when I saved a picture as PNG. Went to upload it and.. ohp! it hasn't changed! Oh! There is an interlace option dialog is showing on a screen thats TURNED OFF >_>

  • Applescript can't get name of front window

    The AppleScript support seems broken or unreliable (at least on OSX 10.10.1).
    For example, this little, very basic script worked in Firefox 33 but now (34?, 35 or 36) NOT anymore:
    tell application "Firefox"
    name of front window
    end tell
    ==>
    error "plugin-container got an error: Can’t get name of window 1." number -1728 from name of window 1
    Hint: If you check the output of the next applescript snippet, you see that the 'windows' don't even get a correct id.
    tell application "Firefox"
    windows
    end tell

    A further hint (tested on firefox version 35 and 36):
    In the script, application 'Firefox' gets replaced by 'plugin-container' when compiling the script !!!

  • About "Always on Top" windows

    Hi all,
    My application needs an always on top window and I used a dll written
    by Mitch Goldstein. It works perfectly on jvm 1.3.1, but when I try it
    on jvm1.4.1 which is more popular today than 1.3.1, it just doesn't
    work, without any exceptions.
    Can anybody give some hints? Thanks a lot.
    The "Always on top" package written by Mitch Goldstein with examples
    can be downloaded from the following address:
    http://www.esus.com/javaindex/j2se/jdk1.2/javaxswing/toplevelcontainers/jframe/jframealwaysontop.html

    For JRE 1.3 and above, the following code addresses the issue of having two windows with the same title. The function takes a Frame as a parameter, gets the HWND using the AWT Native Interface, and then calls SetWindowPos. Agreed, this code is far more complicated than smg123's solution, but if there's a chance of two windows having the same title, it's probably better to use this:JNIEXPORT void JNICALL Java_JSystem_setWindowAlwaysOnTop__Ljava_awt_Frame_2Z (JNIEnv *env, jclass cls, jobject frame, jboolean flag)
         typedef jboolean (JNICALL* PJAWT_GetAWT) (JNIEnv*, JAWT*); // Function pointer
         JAWT jawt;
         JAWT_DrawingSurface* jds;
         JAWT_DrawingSurfaceInfo* jdsi;
         JAWT_Win32DrawingSurfaceInfo* jdsi_win;
         HANDLE hAWT;
         HWND hwnd;
         jboolean result;
         PJAWT_GetAWT JAWT_GetAWT;
         LPTSTR buf;
         jclass sys;
         jmethodID home;
         jstring ret;
            // This section of code is needed in order to find jawt.dll
         sys = (*env)->FindClass (env, "java/lang/System");
         home = (*env)->GetStaticMethodID (env, sys, "getProperty", "(Ljava/lang/String;)Ljava/lang/String;");
         ret = (jstring)(*env)->CallStaticObjectMethod(env, sys, home, (*env)->NewStringUTF (env, "java.home"));
         buf = (LPTSTR)(*env)->GetStringUTFChars (env, ret, NULL);
         strcat (buf, "\\bin\\jawt.dll");
         hAWT = LoadLibrary ((LPCTSTR)buf);
         if (!hAWT) return;
         JAWT_GetAWT = (PJAWT_GetAWT)GetProcAddress(hAWT, "_JAWT_GetAWT@8");
         jawt.version = JAWT_VERSION_1_3;
         result = JAWT_GetAWT (env, &jawt);
         jds = jawt.GetDrawingSurface (env, frame);
         jds->Lock(jds);
         jdsi = jds->GetDrawingSurfaceInfo (jds);
         jdsi_win = (JAWT_Win32DrawingSurfaceInfo *)jdsi->platformInfo;
         hwnd = jdsi_win->hwnd;
         SetWindowPos (hwnd, flag ? HWND_TOPMOST : HWND_NOTOPMOST, 0, 0, 0, 0, SWP_NOMOVE | SWP_NOSIZE);
         jds->FreeDrawingSurfaceInfo (jdsi);
         jds->Unlock(jds);
         jawt.FreeDrawingSurface (jds);
         (*env)->ReleaseStringUTFChars (env, ret, buf);
    }Note that you must include jawt_md.h as that's where all the types such as JAWT are declared. You can link statically with jawt.lib, but as it is dangerous to assume the JRE version on the user's system, it's probably a better idea to link dynamically and handle any errors that occur.
    Hope that helps.
    Cheers
