Americanidiot69 do you even own any creative produc

Seems as if your 6 posts here have been nothing but ipod fanboy talk.
Seriously we choose creative because we feel their products are superior to ipod. You dont see us talking bad about the ipod. We just feel that its not up there with other mp3 players and im sure you will find alot of other people feel the same way. Why pay 250 for an ipod that only plays music and then pay a lot more for a fm tuner and microphone? Seriously, stop with your fanboy stuff noone wants to here it. You havent posted a helpful message yet

You haven't been around here too long if you're talking like that :smileyvery-happy: You need to use the search function and see how many people do bash the iPod for no reason at all, or they bash it with false information. You can find posts around here saying things like the iPod adds DRM to your music (it doesn't), or that the batteries die after only a year (they don't).
I had a Micro before, as well as a brick known as a Zen Xtra before that. The headphone jacks died on both after only a couple of weeks of regular use. Now I have two iPods that have been going strong for several months under the same usage conditions the two Zens were subject to.
I also suffered with a Sound Blaster Li've! and Audigy 2 ZS through the years. I just recently escaped into the world of good sound
I don't come here to bash Creative. I come here to enlighten people.
It's all the same when all you ever do is talk about how superior Apple produts are to whatever is being discussed. That's not enlightening, that's infuriating. We're all reasonable, intelligent people here. It's not like I go post over at the Ipod lounge at every problem thread I come across that people should just screw it and buy a Creative. They're all decent enough products with their own ups and downs. It is <EM>annoying.</EM>

  • Do you know if any creative players support lyrics

I am planning to buy one of the latest mp3 players but I now have concerns that new Zen 8GB might not have lyrics support. Lyrics support is very important for me in choosing the player because I want to be able to follow songs when I play them either in English or other languages. As far as I know new ipod nano can support lyrics but it doesn't have fm radio and recorder.
At the same time thinking about creative, if creative doesn't support then it will be not hard to implement lyrics in the new firmware upgrade because lyrics can be stored inside of mp3 files so it is just matter of extracting them from mp3.

    NO.
I doubt they would in a future firmware either as they only care about improving the performance(which should be fine when they first made the players) and not adding needed features.
So I would recommend getting like the Cowon D2 or any of their players as I'm pretty sure they all have lyric support.
Sorry to advertise, but Cowon is the only other company I know of with lyric support, and excellent sound quality.

  • Photoshop CS4, do you talk to any actual photographers?

Every time I use the new Photoshop CS4 which is part of my CS4 design standard I get so annoyed with you lot at Adobe. What have you done, I don't think you actually take any advice from real photographers who are using your product every day. Sure you may talk to the occasional photographer who is happy to spend 10 hours on one image, paid for by a huge client. But what about everyday professionals that use photoshop as an important tool in their everyday digital workflow.
    What I like in the new CS4;
    The quick selection tool,
    The clone stamp preview.
    What I hate about CS4;
    1. New screen mode functions, when you select 'full screen mode with menu bar' the image now anchors to the bottom of the screen. How stupid was that? Not only is that where the auto dock will appear on a mac, but I need to see beyond the bottom edge of the image, unless you can see beyond the bottom edge, you do not know where the bottom edge is. Sure you can use the hand tool to re-position the image but as soon as you touch the navigator to re-size, down it jumps to the bottom of the screen. It used to float freely in CS3, why change it.
    2. No contact sheet II in the automate menu. Now you want me to create contact sheets in pdf format. I am a professional photographer, I use a professional lab for printing, professional labs want image files like jpegs or tiffs not pdf's. Who thought that was a good idea? not a photographer. Your solution is to load the 'legacy version' as a plug-in. The fact you have withdrawn it from CS4 demonstrates you don't understand the business of professional photography.
    3. Colour labels used in CS4 bridge aren't recognised by lightroom2. CS4 bridge cant read CS2 Bridge colour labels. Why not? it's just simple metadata and they are all Adobe products.
There are other niggles but these three affect my workflow detrimentally and I get annoyed with you lot at Adobe every day, not because I'm a grumpy old whatsit but because you software designers/engineers change things and you obviously don't know how they are used in the real world. You also develop ridiculous things like the aptly named 'image toss' what is the point of that? As a piece of software it might be very clever but I can't see how it will ever be useful.

Bravo, good sir, nice job defending a phrase that's meant to be rhetorical.  I think we'll call it a day on that point.
    Ramón G Castañeda wrote:
Wrong again.  I commented on someone who quoted a post that turned out to be from you.  I was not addressing you.  It had nothing to do with "not resisting" anything.
The plonking scripts have not yet been customized to work in these new forums.  In the meantime, your posts are visible to me.  C'est la vie…
You announced to the Adobe community that you were going to ignore me in this thread and it happened to be your one and only post (had nothing to do with the topic):  "Plonking V6 :/ No offense, V6. This just means I won't see your posts anymore, that's all."  Seems like you didn't need a plonking script then to make that claim.  You then proceeded to reply to my post in this thread and I simply ignored you.  Your assertion that you "commented on someone who quoted a post that turned out to be from you" is BS.  There was no quote--just my original post that you replied to.  So either be prepared to follow through or get called on it, ok?
Ramon, let's get to the bottom line...  I'm specifically calling you out because in typical Internet-bully fashion you hide behind your computer and blow spitballs at anyone who would even dare to cross you.  You're one of the most vocal in the community and from what I've observed and experienced in the last few months is that any good information you've got to share is drowned out by this vicious jekyll and hyde show.  At least this is true for any newcomers that happen to stop by.  For example, you make questionable statements like, "Really, if I'd known we were discussing MacBooks, I wouldn't even had [sic] read the thread. :/", disparaging comments like, "Your post is a little too long to read in its entirety..." as in the beginning of this thread, or ludicrous claims like, "It's very unlikely that Adobe staff who drop by as volunteers, on their own time and dime, will respond to this [sic] type of questions.  It's futile to ask why. It just  is." and then an Adobe staff member comes along and responds.
So grow up...  let's all grow up.  I feel that along with the new forum, we should also usher in a new attitude as posted in the Forum Etiquette and Best Practices thread.  Not to rely on simple stereotypes, but this isn't some gaming or car forum full of teenagers.  I hope I speak for all newcomers (and maybe some vets) when I say I want a professional forum.  We're supposed to be professionals in our respective fields.  We participate in this community to better our knowledge of PS and other Adobe products that we rely on on a daily basis.  I don't put down my colleagues who I work with on a daily basis and I shouldn't expect this type of behavior amongst my online peers, either.

  • Why do we even bother any longer?

I posted the below in another thread... However, I thought it deserved a thread of its own, so... How long this will last before being either:
    1/ Locked
    2/ Removed
    3/ Or whatever...
    ...is a moot point.
Anyway, here's the content of that post:
"You know, why do we even bother any longer?
Maybe we should all just call it a day. That's what they seem to want. Those of us who still want to hang around in the product forums... do that. For the rest, this whole thing has become a joke.
Between the bannings, locked threads, deleted posts... it's worse than a kindergarden. At least, in a kindergarden, if someone cries there's a helping hand. Here, it's the opposite.
So, in all seriousness, maybe we should all call it a day and move on. Visit the individual product forums if we want... impart and absorb what we can... and leave it at that. The old forums are never going to come back.
And what we have here is no longer a joke. It's a nightmare.
    End of story...."
To this, i'd lack to add a simple fact. Despite what the jived up software has done to these forums, the mods here have effectively murdered this one.
The product forums carry on... with about a fraction of the involvement there was earlier... but are still working in a half-a$$ed fashion. Thanks to a few stalwarts.
This forum, which should be the main 'turbulence centre', the forum that keeps everyone on their toes, that tells the powers-that-be what is wrong, is being turned / has been turned into a vanilla flavour of saccharine sweetness.
The jokers and clowns that masquerade as mods sems to have won the day. And, a sad day it is...
Ciao folks... wonder if i'll still be here tomorrow...

To me, the stated issues have not been a problem, but that is just me, and probably due primarily reflective of the particular product fora, that I frequent.
To me, and resulting in the same conclusion, it's more about being able to use the fora to instruct others. That is being compromised, IMO, and is resulting in major frustrations.
OK, this is a bit of a rant, but a mild one. The Adobe product fora do a better job of solving user's problems, than T/S is currently capable of. These fora do the "heavy-lifting," and many more problems are solved.
I do not know the costs of these fora vs the cost of outsourced T/S, but in regards to success, I think that we are way, way ahead. We are doing what T/S once was capable of. Also, there is no direct cost for our services. There are no benefits. Other than being invited to be a beta tester on several programs, Adobe has never offered me anything. Even then, when the program was released, I was not even offered a discount. Still, I do this, 'cause I like to help others, and have been a loyal Adobe user for decades.
However, Adobe (and probably Jive) seem to be working at cross-purposes. They keep making it more difficult for many of use to help other users. Why? I have not a clue. Were I in management, I would look around and would comment that our company has this great asset - knowledgable users, who volunteer their time, to do what we pay T/S for. Why not help them, help others? Makes sense to me, but then I have been out of "corporate US" for many, many years.
    Just my take,
    Hunt

  • Had CC for a year.  Want to get again, but doesn't say I qualify for the $29 pricing because I haven't owned any previous software?

As the title states.  I had the student version of CC for a year.  The $29/month would help me a ton, but it says I haven't owned any Adobe software before.  Did having CC for a year technically not count as owning the software?

Thanks for the info. Seems kind of messed up though. Why would Apple let any random user of a machine control all future upgrades of critical apps. I guess perhaps my admin password was needed at some point, which my son has. Still, seems this is something you should be able to undo.
I'm starting to get a clearer pictures of what's going on. These 3 apps are part of iLife 11 and normally cost $14.95 each. They come pre-installed on new machines, but it looks like at some point you need to associate this "purchase" with an Apple ID, and can only associate it with one Apple ID. Thus they are now irrevocably associated with my son's Apple ID.
However, if I wanted to shell out the money, it seems I should be able to tell this particular mac to forget everthing it knows about the purchase of these apps, and re-purchase them from another Apple ID. Although I doubt I'd do that at this point, if I by a 2nd Mac and properly associated these apps with my Apple ID on this 2nd mac, I should then be able to use this "purchase" to download the apps to the first mac I'm having a problem with. However, currently I can't even see a way to do this. Is there some App Store cache I can trash so App Store no longer knows which apps were installed by which Apple ID?

  • Music's appearing on my iPhone that I didn't put there -- and DON'T EVEN OWN.

I've got a bizarre problem that keeps getting stranger, and have no clue how to fix it. General setup:
Computer: OS 10.6.8, iTunes version 11.1.5
    iPhone: 7.1
iTunes on the computer: set to manually update my music library
Music settings on phone: Show All Music is OFF, home sharing isn't on, iTunes Match isn't on
Here's the problem: there's music on my phone that I didn't put there.
A couple months ago, I saw a Wynton Marsalis track on my phone that I do have in my music library, but I did NOT copy it onto the phone. Moreover, when I have the phone plugged in and view the music on it in iTunes, it doesn't show up, so I have no apparent way to delete it.
Today, not long after the 7.1 update, I looked at my phone and realized it was playing music (still not sure why) that I didn't even recognize -- some iTunes sampler. Now there's a Jose Gonzalez song on my phone that I DO NOT EVEN OWN. It's nowhere in my music library on the only computer I've ever synced it with. As above, if I have the phone plugged in via USB cable and look in iTunes to see what music is on my phone, it's not in the list. It DOES show up on my phone, though, somehow, and I don't have the faintest clue how to get rid of it.
Why on earth is this happening and how do I fix it?

You did a sync with the Sync Music box unchecked?
Before trying it again, unhook your device from the computer and reset it (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Home screen redisplays, check your Music again just to make sure it is not clear. If it still has all the stuff on it, then try the sync again with the Sync Music box unchecked.
    Cheers,
    GB

  • I have the latest Mac Air 13" and I have a Seagate 500MB external hard disk I cant copy or Cut any files on the hard disk and I cant even delete any files. I have the settings as Read and Write in the get info tab. Please help

I have the latest Mac Air 13" and I have a Seagate 500MB external hard disk I cant copy or Cut any files on the hard disk and I cant even delete any files. I have the settings as Read and Write in the get info tab. Please helpand also note that my hard drive was formatted on a Windows 7 Laptop.

thats the problem, its in MSDos (Fat) or NTFS for Windows.
    Options.....
    1. offload all that data on the HD onto your PC, THEN format the HD in EXFAT for use on BOTH PC and Mac for read/write.....then reload all (or as you need) that data back onto the HD
    2. get another HD, and format it for Mac OSX extended journaled.
    FAT32 (File Allocation Table)
Read/Write FAT32 from both native Windows and native Mac OS X.
    Maximum file size: 4GB.
    Maximum volume size: 2TB
You can use this format if you share the drive between Mac OS X and Windows computers and have no files larger than 4GB.
    NTFS (Windows NT File System)
    Read/Write NTFS from native Windows.
Read only NTFS from native Mac OS X
To Read/Write/Format NTFS from Mac OS X, here are some alternatives:
For Mac OS X 10.4 or later (32 or 64-bit), install Paragon (approx $20) (Best Choice for Lion)
Native NTFS support can be enabled in Snow Leopard and Lion, but is not advisable, due to instability.
AirPort Extreme (802.11n) and Time Capsule do not support NTFS
    Maximum file size: 16 TB
    Maximum volume size: 256TB
You can use this format if you routinely share a drive with multiple Windows systems.
HFS+     ((((MAC FORMAT)))  (Hierarchical File System, a.k.a. Mac OS Extended (Journaled) Don't use case-sensitive)
    Read/Write HFS+ from native Mac OS X
Required for Time Machine or Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper! backups of Mac internal hard drive.
To Read HFS+ (but not Write) from Windows, Install HFSExplorer
    Maximum file size: 8EiB
    Maximum volume size: 8EiB
You can use this format if you only use the drive with Mac OS X, or use it for backups of your Mac OS X internal drive, or if you only share it with one Windows PC (with MacDrive installed on the PC)
EXFAT (FAT64)    ------Can read/write from both PC and Mac
Supported in Mac OS X only in 10.6.5 or later.
Not all Windows versions support exFAT.
    exFAT (Extended File Allocation Table)
AirPort Extreme (802.11n) and Time Capsule do not support exFAT
    Maximum file size: 16 EiB
    Maximum volume size: 64 ZiB
You can use this format if it is supported by all computers with which you intend to share the drive.  See "disadvantages" for details.

I was a kid when I made a documentary for a school project. I've been trying to figure out how to retrieve the file. 4 years ago, I was able to get the files off the Iomega Zip drive (finally), but I now see the file is saved as a .A4P. There is also a file saved as a .PKG as well, but I don't know how to open this with my Windows 8 COmputer.

.a4p is an Authorware v.4 (Windows) project.
Interesting you have it as a .pkg...usually that's a published-on-a- Mac extension, if I recall.
At any rate, can you put the file up on a Box, Dropbox, FTP, etc...and send me a URL?
I should be able to published it so you can view the project (it would be an .exe).
It can't be converted to anything though - not without manual effort.

    Hi.
I had PhotoShop CS6 trial, which expired.
I have purchased Creative Cloud student edition, I receive a message that my PhotoShop trial has expired.
I am prompted to purchase the product to extend it, or type in the product's serial number
(I never received a serial number.)
I paid for Creative Cloud and have an order number, I should not be having this issue.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled PhotoShop CS6 multiple times, I also use DreamWeaver and am fearful that I will encounter the same issue. How can I use the Photoshop CS6 after I have paid for it?
    Curonda in Milwaukee, WI.

    Hi.
The trial expired 2 weeks ago - Monday.
I purchased the Cloud Yesterday, also 2 weeks ago Monday 10/15/2012.
I purchased it twice thinking 1 purchase did not complete.
I still will need to request a refund for 1, I've been too busy between, work, school, and kid. I'm at work now.

  • New notebook only has headphone out and mic in -- Will any Creative speakers work?

Hello all: My new notebook only has a headphone out and mic in, and no audio out as you see on desktop PCs. I prefer not to use my USBs as I have other devices using them. Are there any Creative speakers which can use the headphone output and convert it to line level? This is a frustrating problem...the product specs all assume that you have a line level output 1/8 stereo jack. I don't. How can I find out which Creative products (if any) will work? I have a very typical, Compaq V6000 notebook running XP. I'm looking to spend under $80 and would prefer a 2 speaker or 2 pc w/ subwoofer configuration. I prefer to know that I can connect my new speakers rather than order blindly. Thx yall.
Message Edited by brg500 on 07-17-2007 07:25 PM

You can perfectly connect your 2.0 or 2.1 speakers to the headphones out, because it's like it was a line out, with the only difference that you can modify the out volume. There's no problem at all.
