ANM 2.0: one of three ACE contexts couldn't "sync to CLI"

Hello,
We are using ANM 2.0 Update A to manage an ACE module running A2(1.2). About a week ago, one of our 3 contexts started showing "Out of sync" in the "CLI sync status" column. I tried to sync the context numerous times; no errors were reported but this particular context was always "out of sync".
Then this morning I tried a "sync to CLI" operation once more and this time it finally worked! The status is now "in sync".
I was wondering why this happened, and if anything can be done to prevent it in the future.

Synchronizing configuration files for the standby ACE requires:
1. Auditing the standby ACE to confirm that its configuration does not agree with the ANM-maintained configuration data for the ACE. See Synchronizing Virtual Context Configurations, page 3-64.
2. Uploading the configuration from the standby ACE to the ANM server. See Synchronizing Virtual Context Configurations in the below URL:

3. For an Admin context, uploading configurations on any newly imported user contexts. If new user contexts are not updated, they cannot be managed using ANM.

    I am quite a newbie with ACE configurations. I have a VLAN i want to share over three ACE context's. Every context needs to have its own vlan ip address. How can i manage to do this ? I can only define an ip address on the main ACE configuration.

    You are probably talking about the transfer-network or client-side VLAN.
    If you have already assigned the vlan to the module from the cat6k just create the three contexts and assigned those vlans to each context. That is how i do it. Serve three different context's with three different server networks with one client-side or transfer-network.
    just make sure you use different ip's for the ip,peer ip and alias for each context if you use FT or 2 modules. With this setup i always need 4 IP's including the VIP per context on the client side.
    Then you can configure the shared vlan in each context separate.
    context A
    allocate-interface vlan 10
    allocate-interface vlan 20
    context B
    allocate-interface vlan 10
    allocate-interface vlan 30
    context C
    allocate-interface vlan 10
    allocate-interface vlan 40

    Paul--you are a life-saver!! Worked great. I did have to look around to make sure I was getting 4.9 instead of 4.7 (even when the file was named 4.9 at techspot.com), but I finally got the right file, did the install as you suggested, and everything is now fine. One note, though, that I haven't seen mentioned in any of this thread: when I first tried to open up iTunes after getting back to 4.9, the following message appeared: "The file iTunes Library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes." I merely went to the old .itl file that was created when I did the update to iTunes 5, renamed it, moved it over to my now new 4.9, and iTunes opened fine. My library was a few days out of date, because of the few days' lag from the time I did the iTunes update, but that was easily taken care of, and everything's now working fine. Thanks again!!!

    is a nice abbreviation in instantiating an object and initialize with multiple elements in one line of code.

    elements than 3!)Yes, that might not be very handy. But if you have many elements, String[] sa = {"one", "two", "three"} won't be very handy either. Anyway, initialising collection with large numbers of hard-coded items isn't something you do very often.
    If you absolutely want to write it in one line in your editor, just do so:
    HashSet hs = new HashSet();hs.add("one"); hs.add("two");hs.add("three");

    We're sorry to hear that your phone isn't working. It's very important to have a functioning touchscreen!  Let's explore your options OK? If the phone is taken to a store, troubleshooting can indeed be done. The store representative can even contact us while you're there.  Do you have insurance on the device? Or, do you maybe have a prior vzw device that can be activated until the upgrade is available? You can also check your My Verizon account to see if your line( or another line on the account) is eligible for an upgrade. VZW always has options for you.

    I run Outlook 2003 under Windows 8.1.1 in all of my 3 computers. 70% of the mail from the same sender are shown OK in the actual computer and 100% of the very same mail are shown OK in the two other computers. If I forwards an OK received
    mail from one of the “100%”, it will be received OK in the “70%” as well. For me the wrong displayed mail shows up as some kind of vector-descriptors (non converted html?). All links in blue are displayed ok and most of the text is readable in an unformatted
    way. When it comes to logos etc it’s not readable at all. What to do?

  • In the NI Library VI: Extract Numbers, the string control is automatically loaded each time the VI is opened with "Counting to five: one 2 three 4.0 five. Where is this string data coming from?

    Even after deleting the string "Counting to five: one 2 three 4. five." from the string control and replacing it with another string the original string returns after the VI is saved then reopened. Where is this string data coming from? I've attached a copy of the library function. I've been able in my application to get around the problem by replacing the string control with a string constant. But I'm still curious as to what's going on.

    Chuck,
    String control has been set to default with the string you are seeing.  To change this, enter the new string, right click the control and select
    Data Operations>>Make Current Value Default
    Now save your vi.

  • ANM 5.2 unable to import ACE 4710

    Good day,
    I am currently experiencing a problem while trying to import multiple 4710 ACE Appliances into ANM. ANM version is 5.2 and ACE 4710 Appliances version is 5.1.2. The error message is the same for all Appliances (currently 14, more to be deployed this year, another 12 this year). The management class, policy-map and servcie policy are all in place.
    The error message is below:

    Can you get a show tech-support?
    After that, can you do the following:
    1. "dm status"
    2. "dm reload"
    3. "dm status"
    I think you probably may require to reboot the box but it will be better to open a TAC case for that and check deeper.

    It's not possible. Insertion within header works only for HTTP and HTTPS with SSL offload.

  • Stumped - One of three videos won't play

    Hello! I'm having trouble getting one of three uploaded Flash videos (swf) to play. All 3 play fine locally (both the swf files and the html pages via a browser window, and when tested in Flash),  but one will not play once uploaded to the server (Network Solutions). Since the video plays fine locally, and because I have re-processed the wayward video over and over to eliminate error on my part, I'm totally stumped.

    Looking at things, its video 2 of 3 that is the problem correct?
    I"m using a web debugging tool called Fiddler, and it shows me the URLs of the videos you are loading. For the 2nd video, it looks abnormally long, as if you entered it incorrectly. It may have nothing to do with how you encoded the video - it's about where it is, or where your Flash file is "trying" to locate it.

    Also, I'd recommned that you not use spaces in your file names - instead, use an underscore ("_").
    So, I'd suggest that you verify the location of your video on your server, and then be sure that is the correct URL you use when setting that as the video for the FLVPlayBack component you are using.

  • Submit button to submit one of three values (the one thats filled in)?

    I've got a table I wan't to display a subset of data from.
    The data displayed is decided by one of three different user inputs.
    The user can either enter an employee-ID (a column in the table) in a textfield and get all the rows with empID=[chosen empID] or
    The date the resulting rows were last updated (a column in the table) in a datepicker [update_time] = chosen date or
    The reportperiod (also a column in the table) in a drop down list [report_period] = chosen report period.
    What is the best way to do this so that the query is only based on one of them?
    I'm guessing maybe I should clear the other two when one is set by the user and somehow check which one contains data for the select-clause when the "search" button is pressed...
    I guess I could have a button for each of them but that wouldn't look very nice...
    I'm not sure about how to do this and maybe there is an easier way (user interface-wise)?

    Okay, here is a simple example - once you have this working, you can enhance the feel with JS if you want.
    Create your three items.
    Create a button that submits the page as 'GO' (just a simple branch to the same page).
    Create a page level validation that is conditional on the request value = GO that verifies that only one option is selected (if you want - why can't they select more that one?)
    Create a report region with you query in with the display conditional on PL/SQL expression something like this

  • Can't delete email from one of three Mail accounts. Why not?

    Haven't changed any settings. Was working fine but now nothing happens when I highlight a message and hit delete. Can send and receive messages without problem. Can't drag message to Trash either. Only one of three accounts seems to be affected. Tried to rebuild the mailbox but when I highlight the account in question, the rebuild option doesn't highlight. Can anyone help with the problem?

    Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
    *Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

    Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
    (Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive & clear caches.)
    If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

  • One of Three Mail Accounts not receiving msgs

    Cannot retrieve msgs. in mail from one of three email accounts. All are set up the same. All three had been working fine for over one year. A couple days ago, one of the accounts stopped retrieving mail. I can see the msgs. on the mail server when I use a browser w/ webmail (which is Comcast), but I cannot retrieve into Mac Mail. I've not changed anything. I can send email msgs from all three accounts and can retrieve msgs. in two of the three accounts.
    Also, I tried a different mail appn (i.e., Netscape Mail) and was able to retrieve the msgs. for the email account that is no longer working in Mac Mail. Help!!! I depend on this account for important communications...

    As previously noted, the problem in retrieving msgs. to one of my three mail accounts was resolved, but I wasn't sure what the fix was. Well, the problem returned again today (after a couple months of no issues) where one of the accounts could not retrieve msgs. from the Comcast POP server. I searched the Apple Support site and noticed the recommendation to have different usernames and "different passwords" for each mail account on same server. Comcast Mail has a scheme of primary and secondary mail accounts. The mail account unable to retrieve msgs. from the server was a secondary account w/ a different user name than the primary, but the same password. I changed the password on the secondary email account (both on Comcast's server and in the local Mail preference) and all is working fine. I don't know for certain if this was actual fix or something else was changed by Comcast or me, but I believe this did it.

    Found out I can log on to my networked Macs via the Guest account. So I just need to de-secure my network and share everything on the Macs with Read/Write privileges for everybody, and apply changes to enclosed items.
    Was able to get my Macs to see my Windows computers by screwing around with networking. Windows computers can't connect to the Macs now. They used to before Lion.
