Annoying little chapter glitch

Okay, I have two seperate movies on one menu with no chapter markers. If I'm in movie #1, and press the chapter advance button on the remote, it automatically goes to movie #2. In movie #2, the chapter reverse button doesn't do anything, but if I press the chapter advance button, I get taken back to movie #1. Any ideas on how to prevent advancement at all in a movie without chapters? If I add chapters, will this stop from happening?
iMac 1.83Ghz Intel Core Duo Mac OS X (10.4.6)

I added chapters in the movie and it solved the problem.

How to finally get rid of those annoying little plus sign boxes in a table

Hello everyone!
Pages treat table cells as a _*TEXT BOX*_
If those +*annoying little plus sign boxes*+ are popping up, do this to get rid of them:
1. Open Inspector
2. _*Select all*_ on your table
3. Click on T
4. Click TEXT
5. GO to _*INSET MARGIN*_ and SLIDE until the little plus sign boxes disappear.
FINALLY the boxes are gone!

Obviously you are one of the fortunate ones who has never had to deal with the dreaded little box with an X in it!
All of us here were seeing it all the time up until yesterday and it was driving us CRAZY!!
Imagine this:
You are trying to get some work done in Pages
In a table
You add some text to a cell
Then you find out that you have to make the table smaller because
suddenly you have to insert another table on the page
As you are making the table smaller
AHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Inside the cell with the text *a little box with an X in it appears* and will not go away.
If you are working with MANY cells in a table
You are looking at A LOT OF LITTLE BOXES with X's in them.
Suddenly you feel *SEA SICK* looking at all those little boxes
You read the entire iWork Manual line by line BUT cannot find anything to HELP
Your project is not a numbers candidate
You have been a mac user for YEARS and YEARS
You know your macs, you know your mac issues
WHAT TO DO
I am sure you can see the dilemma we were in!
Then all of us realized that this is similiar to a text box issue and cell padding issue from our Adobe CS suite programs and sure enough it WAS!!
That is basically the problem ALL of US were having.
So if our solution can help anyone - *WE ARE GLAD*
because they were probably getting *SEA SICK TOO* trying to get some work done

Annoying little O2 Icon

So two days into my S6 experience and this is annoying me! If you click on it you get this These are various numbers - just out of interest the Customer Srv number is for PAYG - I am on refresh. Despite my best efforts I can't delete this O2 icon, if I select edit on the screen it's on the little delete icon that appears on other icons isn't on the O2 icon and and if i press and hold there is no delete option to drag it to. Not a big deal I know - but anyone have any ideas how to remove it?

Those ‘annoying little words’ can be extremely useful if you are searching for anchors or trying to get things to snap properly.
They should definitely not be dismissed as ‘annoying’.

How to avoid the annoying little window that opens when I go to close a file?

When I put my cursor near the x of a file tab to close a file, a little window opens over the x and I have to wait for it to dissappear before
I can click on the x to close the file. The window that opens has the exact same text as the folder tab and seems worse than useless. Is there a way to turn it off?

It should be real easy to install the latest ATI driver for the latest ATI mobility video card but that hasn't been the case with those with my computer. Computer stuff is never as easy for my as I think it should be. I'm probably and excellent candidate for Apple computers but I'm too cheap and old to switch.
My computer is Alienware's (Dell bought Alienware a couple of years ago.) latest and biggest, m18x, and it holds two ATI 6970m GPU's. There is a real good forum of users of this computer and many have problems installing video card drivers. That is why I wanted to leave well enough alone but some say the latest drivers perform better in games so I gave it a try. My first try was installing Dells recommended latest driver for the video cards in my computer. They installed but my computer refused to use them and it hinted that it didn't like the signature. I tried for a while to get it to work but gave up and went to a site recommended by one of the users in the forum and it downloaded fine and is working.

I just DLed Firefox 4.0 and there is this tiny (though no less annoying) little white square squeezed between the back and file buttons. How do I get rid of it? It's driving me crazy.

The little white box is outlined in grey and has a small black dot in the lower right corner.

If it happens again the make sure that you aren't suppressing website colors.
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Accessibility settings.

Annoying little white line on letterbox matte.

When I scrub throught footage or if I hit play little white lines apear on the edges of the letterbox png. How can I stop this?

Annoying Little Circle wont go away on my e66

This little grey circle on the top right corner of my media icon wont go away. This happened after I opened the now playing application. Unfortunately I cant get it to go away. Suggestions? Would love it if i could turn that option off.
And yes, I'm aware its because one of my applications is on. I just can't tell which one.

The media icon represents a folder.
Go into it and there will be another icon with a circle next to it. That is the application running. Close it and the circle will go away.
So, in case you hadn't worked it out, the circle represents not only an application that's running, but also a folder containing an application that's running.

Annoying little plus sign on shapes

I am putting several shapes together in Pages for use in another program. I do a command-shift-4 screen shot, open the little PNG in Preview, save it as a jpeg, and load it into the other program.
I discovered I could make a shape editable so I could create new shapes. Cool. But then they get this doofy little plus sign on them. I do not want it in the jpeg. How do I get rid of it?

No text is in the shape. Say I want a quadrilateral, a non-rectangular, non-regular quadrilateral. I start with a Pages square. Then. Whoa! That's it. Even though I am not doing a text thing, Pages thinks I want to so it is warning me that my shape is too small. Let's fool Pages into being more cooperative...
I went into the shape and made some text and selected it and set the font size to 4. Then I deleted the text, since I didn't want it in the first place. Now the plus sign is gone and it looks like I want it to.

Annoying little issue with streaming and syncing.

My Macbook is connected to two external hard drives which are hosts to all my movie and tv show files. These files make up my iTunes library so when I sync content the files are copied from my external HD's to my ATV. Some are copied and some I stream. I therefore have a massive library on the ATV selection under "My Movies" and "My TV Shows".
However, when I shutdown iTunes. All the content still shows up in the menus. Those that are synced can obviously be played but those that are not synced and played by streaming, still appear on the menu but obviously can't be played.
This is very annoying. I can't keep track of how many of the hundreds of movie files have been synced and which ones haven't. Before the latest update, the files that were not synced would disappear from the many once iTunes was shut down but now it appears they still remain there.
Any fix for this issue? And no, I don't want to tick "Show only synced items on my Apple TV" because then I can't stream anymore.

Annoying Sherlock search glitch

For some reason when I do a search in Sherlock, and the window of results pops up, the top window is very small, and I have to drag it down (with the little hand icon). I have no idea how this happened and I can't figure out how to reset it so more than one line at a time is visible. The bottom window that shows where a document is located is the correct size. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

It's been a while since I had access to the version of Sherlock that came with OS 8.6 (Sherlock 1, perhaps?), but assuming its window behaves much the same as Sherlock 2 (OS 9's version), look in the middle of the bar dividing the upper and lower panes for a set of short horizontal lines stacked one above another. Grab that location with the cursor, and drag up or down to adjust the relative sizes of the two panes.
In addition, the lower right-hand corner of the Sherlock window is a drag spot - grab it with the cursor and drag to change the overall width and/or height of the Sherlock window.

Ah! Got it! And, of course, you are right.....there are lots of indiscriminate button pushers out there!
You don't have to have a lot of chapters, just something for the button to find will do it.

Annoying Little Bug...any solution?

In my iTunes library I have many non-album tracks (i.e. b-sides or live recordings) for which I leave out the album title. What I've noticed, is if I select an artist from my iPod, if I only have one album by that artist, it goes directly to the album tracks...but non-album tracks aren't listed. Essentially I can only access those non-album tracks by browsing songs. If I have multiple albums by a single artists, this isn't a problem because the iPod gives my the option of viewing all tracks by that artist in addition to listing all available albums. Is there any solution to this other than giving all my non-album tracks some generic name in iTunes?

Your only solution is to provide an album name for those tracks.
You could use the artist name as the album name.
