Annoying Network Notification Message

Hi
In my iMAc I keep getting multiple notification of the airport network I am logged on to.
Is there any way to switch these notifications off - I get them every few minutes not just when I wake the mac up or log on
Regards

Check the following:
Open AirPort Utility - click Manual Setup
Click the Internet icon in the row of icons
Click the DHCP tab below the icons
Look for the DHCP Message area.  Is there anything in this area?  If yes, click in the area and backspace or delete the information.
Click Update to save your settings.
If that is not it, I am stumped. I have never seen what you are talking about.

  • SMS appears as a Network Notification message

After loading the 4.5.0 version software in my Blackberry Curve (8310), I am facing a typical problem of my SMS being received as a Network Notification message by the Recipients.
With this, in Nokia phones the message prompts for Save or Delete option. If the message is saved then the SMS goes to the IN box, else it disappears. In HTC phones, the message just appears as a Flash message with no option of saving. In HP iPAQ, the SMS is received correctly whereas on my own Blackberry curve, it appears as a Notification message with an option of saving it.
With this, I am not confident whether the recipients of my message have got the SMS sent by me.

Hurray !! at last after putting up with this problem with the latest upgrade available of 4.5 OS this got resolved. I hope this will resolve the issue for all other around too.
I have installed the version 4.5.0.174 yesterday and the problem disappeared.
    Hope this helps others too.

  • How can I turn off an annoying network lost message?

Ever since the last iPhone software update I keep getting a message saying "Network Lost. Your selected mobile network is no longer available. You can choose a different network in settings." Now, I know what this means. There are only a few places in my house where you can get a mobile signal. What I don't want is my iPhone keep lighting up all times during the day and night telling me that it's lost it's signal! Apart from anything else, it uses up the battery and it wakes me up at night by the screen lighting up. How, oh how, can I stop it doing this. I lock it when I am not using it but I don't like to turn it off in case of family emergencies. I keep it by my bedside at night but lately I have to put it in my bedside drawer so it doesn't wake me. Is this a new feature of the update? If so, I hope enough people complain so they take it off. I don't need a message to tell me there is no signal. It says "No signal" across the top of the phone when there isn't one. Please someone help.

Latest update on 'Network Lost' Message. I have tried all the suggestions, ie, Setting my carrier to Automatic and resetting my Network settings but nothing works. I had a long conversation with someone at Apple this morning and he said there was no way to stop this from happening. Gutted! My husband and I went through the settings on both our iPhones earlier and discovered that he has a different software version to mine, He hasn't updated his and he never gets the message. Now I am wondering if it's possible to go back to an earlier version and if so how? Can anyone tell me please?

  • Annoying 'Network Lost' message keeps on being displayed

My iPad continuously displays a 'network Lost' message when the 3G signal has been lost, even if the WiFi is ok. How can I suppress this? If I am on YouTube for example the message pops up and pauses the clip.

To add to what has been said, if you do not have an unlimited data plan, then it is probably in your best interest to disable cellular data and only enable when you need it. This will prevent apps from accidentally using your limited amount of 3G data. That is what I do. It's a little more inconvenient, but it is comforting to not have to worry about using up my data.

  • Sstem preferences - Network - this message pop up won't go away

This is an Airport card I installed in the iMac G4, so I'm not sure if it's called Airport Express per se.
    Here's my issue:
I just connected to the internet via Airport Card. So when I go into System preferences, click 'Network', this drop down message that reads 'Your network settings have been changed by another application' keeps popping down. Even after I click 'OK', it just keeps coming & coming. So I can't get it to go away.
Here's what happened. Airport card is installed. Then, I turned on airport by clicking on the grey Airport icon on tool bar right hand side. Got it turned on. I also click 'Open Internet Connect' to check status. Does this have anything to do with the annoying pop down message? Now I can't get into System preferences, Network pane at all.
Also, how do I go about setting a password to prevent something from using my wireless connection. I noticed that when I click the Airport icon, other wireless networks also show up.
I could get on some other network, but for others, a window pops up with 'Wireless Security: WPA Personal, and asks for password. How do I get my wireless network to do the same?
    Thanks.

    This Web page
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=576199
suggests going from the top level of your main disk to /Library/Preferences, then moving the folder SystemComfiguration out of there (perhaps to the Desktop for temporary storage until you want to delete it). Reboot your Mac, then redeclare your network preferences and see if things work better.

  • Query regarding the error in the notification message put up by iOS??

    1. Turn off Wifi and 3G network on iPhone iOS5
    2. Launch the iTunes.
    3. Cellular Data is Turned Off message is put up with Settings and OK buttons instead of ------>  OK and Settings buttons.
Apple users are consistent with say Cancel and Retry (options) in the notifications instead of Retry and Cancel.
So my assumptions from the various notifications message put up on iPhones, it should be ( Do nothing ) and ( Action button ) in the notification messages.
Is it OK to keep the same notification while designing the app to maintain this (above - do nothing and action button) consistency or just follow the apple notification as below. Please HELP!

  • Very annoying connection failed message

    Hello.
This question was actually asked by another member and it was never answered. I keep receiving a connection failed message after startup. This message is the one where it states; "Connection failed. Server may not exist or is not operational at this time. Check server name or IP address & try again." Just like the previous member who asked, I too am not trying to connect to anything so why do I keep getting this message? I read somewhere on here about deleting aliases but that was a suggestion for OS9 users.
Could someone please share with me on how to get rid of message? I tried the suggestion that was offered prior about going to GO in the finder and selecting connect to server but when I do this, there is nothing there to connect to nor delete so this suggestion does not work.
All of this started when I connected my two Intel Macbook Pros via ethernet a few days ago. I have decided not to network the two machines so I have disconnected them. The main machine which was machine 1 is the one giving me the annoying connection failed message while machine 2 does not. Does it have something to do with the server alias? If I am the only user of these computers, why are my server privileges insufficient? Why can't I just delete the server alias? Why is removing this annoying connection failed message so difficult?
    Please help. Thank you

Macbook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Not sure on this, but perhaps the user of the other book left the Alias there?
You can easily change Permissions on that Alias to get rid of it, perhaps by doing a Get info, or surer yet using batchmod...

Hello rishabharora and welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
To clarify, you are receiving emails from Facebook® stating they are a network notification? Would it be possible to have a screen shot of this email?
If the emails are not from Facebook, who is sending email?
Do you use the Facebook® for BlackBerry® smartphones application?
    Thanks!

  • Facebook App - Problems with Newsfeed & Missing Notifications/Messages

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP. I continue to have two frustrating problems with my Facebook for Blackberry app that I installed directly via RIM's website:
    1. I am always missing notifications & messages on my blackberry. Sometimes they come through and other times they do not. Right now my blackberry said I had no new notifications or messages, but when I logged onto my Facebook account on my PC it showed I had 2 new messages. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Facebook app three different times (each time also removing & reinstalling my battery). After doing this, it seems to work consistently for a short while (maybe a week or two) and then starts missing notifications & messages all over again. This is incredibly unreliable and frustrating - RIM really needs to fix this.
    2. My second problem is that on my blackberry Facebook app I continue to see posts from apps that my friends interact with in my newsfeed that I have blocked on my main Facebook page (i.e. games like Farmville, Hidden Chronicles, various horoscope apps, etc). If I have blocked them on my regular Facebook account and they do not show up in my newsfeed when I'm logged into Facebook on a computer, why am I seeing them on my newsfeed on my blackberry? Again, this is a very annoying problem and really needs to be fixed.
I hope someone in the forum can help me wth these issues.
    These two problems are

I haven't tried the older version of skype yet. But I did try one thing that worked, it's just not ideal. Basically I set up a new account through skype and then logged in through that account. Everything worked perfectly fine. I could send and receive messages and everything updated like it was supposed to. Altough I obviously had to readd all my contacts and group chats, which was a pain. I logged out of that account and logged back into my original one and it was still having the same problems. I have absolutely no idea why a new account will work fine but my old account won't. But if you want to keep the updated version of skype and don't mind all of the hassle of making a new account, that's one sort of solution.

  • N900: Email Notification Message on Dashboard

    Hey,
how can I make the yellow email or missed call notification message stay on the N900 desktop and not fade out after
    2 seconds??
    Thanks

Has anybody found a suitable answer to this?
I also find it slightly annoying that the notification can only really be caught if you happen to be staring at the screen at the time the message comes in.
What I would like is for the large envelope to be displayed immediately when I unlock the n900 again and not have to click on the glowing menu button first. That way, there is no chance of missing what may or may not be an important message. You can either click on the message to open it up and reply, or click outside of the envelope to go back to your desktop and ignore it - exactly as you currently do AFTER clicking on the glowing menu (which I have often missed when unlocking my n900).
Any other phone device (lets not let this start a debate about whether its a phone or not please) displays a fixed notification until it is acknowledged (either read or ignored).

  • Trying to download iOS 7.1 and I get a "Network Error" message. How can I fix this?

Hello. Today iOS 7.1 came out and I want to get it.  I currently do not have 2.5GB of free storage on my iPhone 5s so I wanted to use iTunes to download and install iOS 7.1.  The problem is that every time I try to download iOS 7.1 I get a "Network Error" message (screenshot provided).  The alternative I tried to use is downloading the IPSW file directly from the internet but I also get a network error (screenshot provided).  I was able to download anything and everything else I wanted to download today but only get this error when downloading an Apple IPSW file.  I downloaded iOS 7.0.6 less than a week ago through iTunes and didn't have an error but with iOS 7.1 I am having many difficulties.  I disconnected my internet and tried again but still no success.  Does anyone have any suggestions to fix this problem?  Any input will help!  Thanks so much!
    The error through iTunes
    The error through Google Chrome

Try directly from your device. I had the same problem but it updated when i tried from the device itself.

  • IPhone user getting BB network sync messages - wants them to stop

Hello everyone.  Just signed up here, happy user of Blackberry Tour 9630 with Bell Mobility in Montreal, Quebec, Canada for nearly two years.
HOWEVER, my current need for assistance has absolutely NOTHING to do with my Blackberry model, my carrier, or my OS version.
For the past 6 years, I have been providing Email gateway services with spam and malware filtering to several small corporate clients.  At the end of March 2011, one user (also a high-level company admin at one of my client domains) has begun receiving messages from a range of network addresses, as follows:
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]

    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
All those messages have a subject similar to this:
    RIM_bca28a80-e9c0-11d1-87fe-00600811c6a2
The message body begins with "This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry handheld and an associated server. Please do not delete, move or respond to this message - it will be processed by the server."
The problem is that this person is using an iPhone, not a BB, and he is receiving these messages both on his iPhone and on his Windows desktop (in Office Outlook).
He also tells me he never had a Blackberry, and that he DID NOT ask for these messages to be sent to him.  For sure, he might very well have ACTUALLY done something that caused this, but he cannot recall what it was.  One of his employees lost her Blackberry just before going on maternity leave for a year, starting in March, and he did mention doing something (vaguely remembered) related to that loss (and replacement).
Be that as it may.  The fact is that he does not have a Blackberry, but an iPhone (and apparently NEVER had a Blackberry).  Under those circumstances, is there some way to register a request that these messages no longer be sent, by either Emailing or phoning someone at RIM (or any other way)?  So far, I am sending hundreds of these messages per week to the spam quarantine, from which they have to be purged periodically.
By the way, I just signed up to Twitter earlier today (something which I was in no hurry to do), just so I could attempt to obtain help from the  "BlackBerryHelp" Twitter channel.  Well, I posted the following tweet 2 hours ago, and so far I have received no response:
"@BlackBerryHelp iPhone user getting msgs from "[email protected]", wants them filtered. How do we stop them at source?"
So much for "Official Twitter support account of Research In Motion. We’re staffed from 9-8 EST Monday -Friday and 9-6 Saturday. ".  What kind of response time should I be expecting?  Am I too impatient?
Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to shed some light on this problem and its solution...

Normally that message comes about from having installed the Blackberry Desktop Software on the PC in an incorrect manner, which the link below will show how to correct it. I am guessing someone (might not have been this user, could have been his secretary or another employee who does have a BlackBerry) installed the BlackBerry Desktop Software on his PC with the "redirector" option checked, which is most normally the origin. See below.
Article ID: KB04254 Network@etp email messages are received on the BlackBerry smartphone and email application
Article ID: KB21849 Network@etp messages are received in the email application and on the BlackBerry smartphone
As far as the twitter help accout, yea, I'm thinking two hours response time might be a bit high in expectations. But doesn't matter, the above links should solve the issue.
And, aside from collecting the messages in a spam folder, you could just blacklist them on the users' email server, and they won't even reach the server.

  • How to customize initial secure e-mail notification message

Can we customize the initial secure e-mail notification message with a company logo or any kind of text?
    The one that says:
You have received a secure message
Read your secure message by opening the attachment, securedoc.html. You will be prompted to open (view) the file or save (download) it to your computer. For best results, save the file first, then open it in a Web browser. To access from a mobile device, forward this message to [email protected] to receive a mobile login URL.
If you have concerns about the validity of this message, contact the sender directly.
First time users - will need to register after opening the attachment.

    Thanks!

    Nevermind, I found it.
Mail Policies > Text Resources > Add Text Resource
Set the type as Encryption Notification Template (HTML), edit the HTML and then also add one with a type Encryption Notification Template (text), edit the text. Then go into the Security Services > IronPort E-Mail Encryption > modify the Encryption profile and choose the new Text Resources created above.
Under Text Resources I was also able to create custom bounce messages with variables that display all the relevant information regarding the bounce.
