Annoying noise in iTunes 8

since i have downloaded iTunes 8 apart from going excruciatingly slow and randomly freezing my Itunes library makes frequent and very annoying "phwwp" noises. I believe it is something to do with the new genius feature possibly, is there anyway to turn this noise off other than muting my computer or turning the music up really loud??

I've submitted a bug report:
itunes 8 interrupts music with a very annoying "phwwp" sound
http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html
And I gave them the URL of this discussion. Can you please all submit bug report, too? Thanks.

Only songs that are physically stored on the iOS device can be deleted with a swipe. Songs that have been listened to, and are in the temporary cache, apparently can not be deleted with a swipe. The easiest way to get rid of these songs is to go to Settings > General > Usage, tap Music (you may need to scroll down in the list), swipe across "all music" then tap the delete button. This will delete ALL music on the device.
Also, iCloud and iTunes Match are not the same service.

  • T61 Display Problem and Annoying Noise from ESC button area

I have two problems with my T61, model 6460-66U. One's with display and another is annoying noise coming from ESC button area.
Ordered in Feb, 2008 for college use, as soon as I start to use it there's some problem with the display quality. When using Aero there would be black square spots appearing on screen and would disappear when hovering mouse over these areas. Processing speed is somewhat slow when using Aero. While switching to Basic Vista style, those black square spots will only appear in the Windows Photo Gallery's left corner, like the image shows: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3149/2746362257_6dc6a4d6a2_o.jpg  When playing videos, like avi, rmvb, wmv files, there's a common problem that the screen in the media player keeps flashing with the green color. I thought it was the RAM, because it's 1G so it got upgraded to 3G over summer break. Hoping the problem would be solved, but not . Recover the system back to factory status helps a little, but after upgrading the newest driver (7.15.11.7597) of Nvidia 140m there would be sudden black out on screen, and notice of display driver stopped working. When degrade to 7.15.11.129 version it runs fairly well but problem with Photo Gallery and videos as mentioned above still exist. I found a Korean media player which could fix the video playing problem, but with Windows Media player, Realplayer and other major video player the problem still exists. Screenshot of the problem is here http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3087/2746362307_aff12c556c_o.jpg  I upgraded BIOS, but laptop would become slow and video images would blur/double shadows. So I swtiched it back.
And recent few days, there's annoying noise coming from in the upper left corner, where ESC button is. I don't know whether it's from the fan or the AC adapter, it's like Zssssss, and if I press my finger on it, the noise would be a little louder. There's a similar problem that I noticed in the first few weeks with the experience of this laptop, whenever I maximize the volume (both volume control of computer and the music player), some annoying noise, which is similar to this Zsss sound but louder will buzzing along with music. Didn't care much about that since if I don't maximize the volume it would just be fine. But this time the whining noise won't disappear. What probably cause this?  Anyway to fix it, like replacing certain parts??
Suggessions and help would be very much appreciated. Thanks!!

Dirt can get under the button in an instant.
I use a strong suction vacuum cleaner and tip the computer from side to side and upside down while clicking the button to suck out the dirt.

  • Annoying Noise in MacBook Pro, 17-Inch, Early 2008, Somebody help !!!

    Greetings!
I have MacBook Pro 4,1, 17-Inch, Early 2008. I have been using this mac since 2010 and it was perfect, never had any serious problem.
Recently, it has started making this stupid + strange + annoying noise sound, and finally now I have a massive headache.
Noise is coming from the speaker (also in earphone, if i connect one) and it's really loud.
But the noise only starts on any sound activity, suppose if i click on the volume control and that should make a little sound, and then this noise starts, or on any sound activity like listening to song, or watching movie, this noise is present for the entire movie/song or any speaker acitivity and it's like storming sound, and a constant noise strong enough to make u go mad. This noise will lasts for 35 seconds after the actual movie/song sound stops,  even for a single clicking sound.
Tried almost everything found on the net, no luck.
    Help someone.
    Hardware Overview:
      Model Name:    MacBook Pro
      Model Identifier:    MacBookPro4,1
Processor Name:    Intel Core 2 Duo
      Processor Speed:    2.5 GHz
      Number of Processors:    1
      Total Number of Cores:    2
      L2 Cache:    6 MB
      Memory:    4 GB
      Bus Speed:    800 MHz
      Boot ROM Version:    MBP41.00C1.B03

thanks for the suggestion, but if speakers were faulty then why the noise is also present in earphone??
I am just trying to find a home remedy for this.
Cause my local apple store suggested me to replace the logic board !!

  • Loud Annoying Noises

My Satellite L305 laptop is making very loud and annoying noises. It is not the fan or the disk drive. Theyre a gurgling noise and they have been louder and more frequent this past month. I've only had this computer for a year. Could someone please tell what the source of this noise is?

I had the sample problem. It happened when I used my monitor speakers too. I realized it was a software problem internet explorere problem in my case. I fixed my problem by installing Internet explorer 9.If you have windows 7 OS, Internet explorer 8 won't work properly. If you see beta stay away from that tooooooo!
    Hope that solves your problem.
    Cheers

  • Bazaar high-pitched squeal/fuzz noise in iTunes when scrolling.

    System info:
I'm using iTunes 6.1.3 on Windows XP Pro, and I'm wearing headphones (i don't have regular speakers).
    Issue:
I noticed that if I click and hold down the scroll bars in the Library in iTunes (the scrollbars for Genre, Artist, and Album), I hear a faint high-pitched squeal or fuzz noise coming into my headphones. (If I scroll through the songs themselves, I do not get this noise. It's just the three above-mentioned scroll bars). Since it's pretty faint, I only hear it if nothing else on my computer is sending out music or noise (or only if the noise is also very quiet at the time). As far as I recall, I don't remember hearing this in conjunction with any other program.
    Question:
Has anyone ever heard of such an issue? It's not really a big deal, but it does make me rather curious to know what's causing it. Try it on your own computer and let me know if you have the same issue. Could it be a sound card thing? But then why would where I click in one particular program have anything to do with it?
    Example file:
If you'd like to hear what I'm talking about (Since you might be tempted to think I'm making this up), I created a wave file recording of it. (I didn't want any mp3 compression to confuse the matter, so that's why it's a wav. Not that I know much about that sort of thing... but just in case.) I uploaded it to here: http://aranel.alasse.googlepages.com/itunessqueal.wav (Sorry it's so big... 5.3 MB... Obviously because it's a .wav file. It's a little over 30 seconds long. )
    Process of making example file:
I recorded it using Audacity (which is an open source program that can be downloaded from sourceforge.net). In Audacity, I set the recording/input "channel" to be "Wave Out Mix". I turned the Wave out volume and the master volume all the way up, then pushed record. (Turning the Wave volume up caused additional fuzz, so concentrate on the contrast between the sections of the recording to hear the actual sound I'm referring to.) It's a pretty quiet track, so you'll probably have to turn the volume way up.
It's a 30+ second clip. Here's how the seconds break down:
For the first five seconds, I just did nothing.
From seconds five through 10, I clicked and held down the Genre scroll bar in iTunes.
From seconds 10 through 15, I did nothing again.
From seconds 15 through 20, I clicked and held down the Artist scroll bar in iTunes.
From seconds 20 through 25, I did nothing, once again (I kept doing this so you could hear
    the difference).
From seconds 25 through 30, I clicked and held down the Album scroll bar in iTunes. (Notice that this one seems to be slightly higher in pitch than the noise from the previous two scrollings I did.)
The last couple seconds, I did nothing again.
    More weirdness:
Changing the volume on my computer (both the master mix, and the wave out mix, and any other mix that exists (e.g. line, microphone, CD Player, Mono out, etc.)), or even MUTING the volume of any of these mixes does not make the sound go away or change in volume at all! It's always at the same volume no matter what I do. I can only make it go away if I unplug my headphones (remember: I don't have regular speakers. If I did have those, unplugging the headphones might only change where the noise is heard.). Changing the wave out volume only affected the recording (which is why I turned it way up. If I turn the wave out volume all the way down, then push record, I still hear the noise coming from iTunes while I'm recording, but if I play the recording back, the noise is gone.
    Very bazaar...
    Any input anyone?
      Windows XP Pro

Called Apple support, they said they do not support the use of iPods in cars, they may have sold you your car kit, but they dont support it. So buyer beware. I have three cars, I upgraded my Nano to 1.1, which is the latest, didnt fix it. I went out and tried it in all three cars, squeals in the Toyota (with Monster Cassette Adapter to Original Radio, hisses in the Nissan (with Audio 3.5 cable to audio jack to after market Sony radio), and works fine in old Mercury (with 3.5 cable to old JVC with audio jack).
So I better take care of the old Mercury.

  • Disk drive check on wake up--annoying noise

    Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone had any clue on how to stop my Macbook from automatically checking whether I have a disk inserted in the disk drive every time it wakes up. It makes the same sound as when a disk is ejected. While not a huge problem, it has gotten quite annoying, especially when I'm trying to be quiet.
I know that an extreme solution is to remove the disk drive, but there must be another way. The new Macbook Pro's, for example, don't make any noise when waking up.
Alternatively, is my problem something that other Macbook owners also experience?
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Jake

I second that opinion, older Pros (like mine) do it too!

  • Clicking noise in iTunes 8.2

I am experiencing a new clicking noise in any song I have in my library all the sudden. These files have all been ripped properly and they have been working for years with no problems. All of the files I have also play perfectly in Windows Media Player. I have no audio enchancements turned on in itunes either.
I am using iTuens 8.2.1.6 64 bit version for my 64 bit Vista installation. I see a lot of posts with this problem doing a google search but that is all there is...people looking for a solution but no suggestions. Anyone else have this problem and find a solution?
This is only happening in iTunes on my computer..not on my ipod.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Have you installed any 3rd-party iTunes plug-ins or Add-ons? If they were created for an earlier version of iTunes, you might have to update or uninstall them.
This article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1362 provides general tips that will resolve most audio playback issues.

  • How do I stop this extremely annoying noise?

Whenever I record a movie in imovie with my built-in isight camera and built-in microphone, there is this incredibly annoying background noise - a fast beeping that almost seems to represent the cadence of the frame rate. I thought it was some kind of tool but when I save the event and play it in quicktime on its own, the beeping remains!!! Its killing me. Please help me make it stop.
I apologize if this is a topic that has already been covered, I'm not sure how to find out if it has.

Mate, I HIGHLY, HIGHLY doubt that the hum of my computer is the cause of this noise. The volume of the noise is significant enough to be a major issue. It is not a light static or low-level humming. It is fast beep, going off at a rate of about 25 per second. If it were part of an ichat or phone call the average person would not tolerate the sound and think there is an error. Plus, the noise is sharp, clear, rhythmic, and unheard in any other situation but this use of imovie.
Thanks for the input, mate, but the likelihood this explanation is correct is extremely low. Anybody else with an explanation/solution that doesn't involve buying a replacement microphone?

  • Weird noises in iTunes 8

I recently upgraded to iTunes 8 and whenever I switch from "Genius" to "iTunes Store" in the sidebar and there is not music playing at the time, there is a thumping sound that plays through my speakers. Is it just an annoying sound effect that I can't figure out how to turn off or a glitch? This sound never occurs if I switch between playlists, only when I switch between items under the Library and Store, and of course, also Genius.

    Tabtip32!!
*TabletInputService to be more exact, the hand writing input service for Windows. If I stop this service iTunes keeps quiet.*
Now, my iTunes only made the sound when it finished loading something from the internet (store, Genius, shopping cart etc.) It did not make a sound every time I clicked, so there may be more than one issue here. But I think the sounds we're all hearing, are all related to the new accessibility features of iTunes. For me it was activated by Tablet input being turned on, for others it may be something else, but I would look toward input or display services that iTunes misinterprets as being for the disabled (the blind).
The tablet still works for Photoshop (my need), as its drivers are still active, but not the system level writing recognition. Which is acceptable for me - though I prefer it on - but it's crappy for those actually using a tablet PC and iTunes.
I turned it off by right clicking on 'My Computer' and selecting 'Manage'. From there I selected the services panel and found 'Tablet PC Input Service', right clicked that and got properties. From there I stopped the service and set it to only start manually.
This works for me (kinda), but iTunes really shouldn't be activating sound feedback designed for the visually impaired because the pen input service is started. Seems like a bug to me.
Anyway, thanks for the hints everybody.

  • Really weird and annoying noise

When I use iChat (video chat) I get this really weird interference or noise, won't start at first but I hear it building up then it gets to be too loud and I can't hear anyone. And only I can hear it. To describe it, it sounds almost like a helicoptor or something and kind of like a pulsing static that changes volume. If anyone knows how to fix this I would reaally appreciate any tips.

its not high pitched and im the only one that can hear it. im using a Logitech USB headset and im wondering would the sound not occur if i just use the internal mic and speakers in the iMac. but im concerned that any sound coming through the speakers would be immediately picked up by the mic.
oh and also the person i chat with is using a pc but like i said im the only one that sound occurs to and its really really annoying.

  • Annoying message from iTunes Store

keep getting flamed with messages that my iTunes Store request didn't go through and I should check my network connections.  Trouble is that I never submitted any recent request. How to turn off this annoyance?

I have another problem. A message keep popping up with this: the item you asked is not available in you're store. Very annoying! I didn't bought something or asked for something!

  • Annoying Banner on iTunes Store 9.0

Apple, this is merely my opinion, but could you consider shrinking that banner on the 9.0 iTunes store. It takes up so much monitor real estate that most of the important sections such as "Recommendations For You" and "What We Are Listening To" are scrolled down off the page.

I have also submitted feedback to apple. Count me in as annoyed, I would like to either have it eliminated or provide user control of the advertisement banner at the top of the iTunes 9 store page. This is most annoying primarily because the marketing does not concerning me. It is an incredible waste of my 22 inch monitor space. And totally impracticable on my laptop computer. A more practical approach might be to utilize your "Genius" feature to create marketing that would actually appeal to me.
