Anonymous Authentication Custom PRF File

Hi All,
I'll try to make this as simple as possible, I have customized a .prf file using the office customization tool, and made a .bat file that a user can click on, starts outlook and automatically imports the server settings.
My only issue is, with Exchange 2013, the "Logon network security" type needs to be Anonymous Authentication, and am not sure if it is even possible to set/change. I have opened the .prf file in notepad, but can't seem to find anything related.
Here is the .prf file for quick reference:

Thanks!

My only issue is, with Exchange 2013, the "Logon network security" type needs to be Anonymous Authentication, and am not sure if it is even possible to set/change.
Hi,
Sorry for the lack of knowledge on .prf file above.
However if we want to enable the Anonymous Authentication on the Exchange 2013 server side, I can share some information for you.
Based on my experience, the "Logon network security" option exists in Outlook client. We can run some commands on EMS to enable the Anonymous Authentication on the server side. Please follow me, steps as below:
1. First I suggest verify the Outlook Anywhere settings on Exchange 2013 CAS server via following command:
Get-OutlookAnywhere -Server Exch1
2. If "ExternalHostName" is set, please change the "ExternalClientAuthenticationMethod" to Negotiate via following command:
Get-OutlookAnywhere -Server Exch1 | Set-OutlookAnywhere -ExternalClientAuthenticationMethod Negotiate
3. Please note: If the DefaultAuthenticationMethod parameter is specified,
InternalClientAuthenticationMethod, ExternalClientAuthenticationMethod and
IISAuthenticationMethods parameters cannot be used. More details in the following article:
Set-OutlookAnywhere
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123545(v=exchg.150).aspx
However if we enable the Anonymous Authentication, it maybe something wrong in some situation. For example, Users of Exchange Server 2013 or Exchange Online can't open public folders or shared mailboxes on an Exchange 2010 or Exchange 2007 server.

Hope it is helpful

  • Office 365 email deployment using Outlook 2010 and PRF files

    Hi,
I've been struggling to get Outlook 2010 setup with a new Office 365 deployment. I would like to use custom PRF files to get the new Outlook profiles configured. I have more than 100 users.
One of PRF files I'm using is shown at the end of this message. Each user will get a custom PRF file with his/her information already configured (mailbox, server name, etc...). I've obtained the corresponding Exchange server using:
    Get-Mailbox <email> | select ExchangeGUID
I've attached the domain at the end of the GUID and then that's the Exchange server. It matches what you get with Outlook using Autodiscover.
Using these PRF fies I'm able to create a new default profile and set all the parameters as if I had create the profile manually. Two problems here though:
    1) I don't know what to change in the PRF file to set the Logon Network Security to Anonymous Authentication under the Security tab (Exchange account properties)
    2) When Outlook asks me for the username and password, it won't take it, and I know I'm using the right credentials. If I create the profile manually (not using Autodiscover) and I use the same configuration parameters in the PRF file, everything is ok. I have
already run all the updates and tools that come as part of Setup Desktop in Office 365. Actually I get the same results with Outlook 2013.
I'm looking for some help here or ideas how to roll Office 365 without having to go user by user and creating a new profile and waiting for Autodiscover to finish :)

Wow, even if we were to find out what to add to the PRF, it turns out each user mailbox has it's own unique server name (aka Virtual Connection Point). I cannot believe two departments of Microsoft aren't talking to each other!!!! ..... wait, that always
happens. 1 week later and probably 100 hours later I am just going to create a simple how-to for each user.
Here is the link I just found explaining the "virtual connection points". http://www.blackmanticore.com/2c209fbaa93ae6cf8f8dac5b50281f2e
I'm sure NEXT YEAR Microsoft will catch up with itself and add this option/feature in the Office Customization Tool to create PRF files that will actually work with their services.

I have changed the home server in [ServiceEGS] and [Service1] with the CAS Array VIP configured with the DNS name
autodiscoverservices.exchange.xxxx.xx  but it is not working and getting "Exchange server unavailable" error. Some one have any idea how to
configure the user outlook profile via a prf file which works with exchange server 2013 autodiscover services. Is there any more settings to be applied to the PRF file to make it work.

  • WLC IPS custom signature file

    Hi,
Where can I download the WLC IPS custom signature file? Is WLC support openLdap for user web or 802.1x authentication?
    Best Regards,
    Jackson Ku

The documentation for 5.1 is located at:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/products/hw/vpndevc/ps4077/products_configuration_guide_book09186a008055de07.html
I believe the regex you want is:
    [Mm][Aa][Ii][Ll][\t][Ff][Rr][Oo][Mm][:][\x21-\x7E]+[@][Ss][Ee][Xx].[Cc][Oo][Mm]
The + field allows for any printable characters (but there must be at least 1) in the senders email address. You should use the SMTP state machine with the SMTP Commands state set, direction to service port 25.

  • What is wrong with this Outlook 2013 PRF file??

This is the PRF file, all my reading indicates it's configured correctly. Why does it not work?? I get messages about 'Outlook could not log you on' etc. etc.
I can tell the the profile does get created -- but one can not log in with it.
"Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be configured. Your profile is not configured."
    We don't use personal folders.

    Hi Tom,
How did you import the .prf file before?
As per the despcription, I would suggest you delete the Outlook profile from Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Mail, then try to import .prf file again, then check result.
    Apply a .prf file -

  • Anonymous Authentication

    Hi all,
I've a custom portal component whose <b>authscheme </b>has been set to <b>anonymous</b>. When I access this component the login module for NTLM gets called.
    Is this a standard behaviour?
    Cheers,

    Hi all,
I am atttempting to config WLS5.1 to use SSL with anonymousauthentication.
The WLS docs refer to one/two way authentication. However i want to handle
the authentication via HTTP basic authentication without the hassle of
passing certs arround. Is anonymous auth available in WLS5.1? If so kindly
tell me how.First are you attempting to hit a servlet or an EJB with anonymous
authentication? Anonymous authentication works exactly opposite depending on
which one your trying to access. The servlet spec allows anonymous servlet
access unless the it's been specifically limit. The EBJ spec says that
anonymous access is forbidden unless specifically configured (must have
"everyone" specified on it's ACL list)
One way authentication is basically anonymous client / authenticated server,
two authentication is considered mutual authentication where the client also
supplies it's cert/key pair to the server for validation against a
client/user who has been configured for mutual cert auth.

  • Problems with Anonymous authentication !!

    Hi All,
I hope this is the right forum to ask my problem. And also, I would like to say that I dont have any idea in Java.
    Our problem is
    1. We are using Java SSL as server and OpenSSL as client.
    2. For server authentication, the connection is successful.
    3. But for Anonymous authentication, the connection fails in read server hello.
I am not sure why this connection is failing. I have referred to client log file but did not get any information to solve the problem.
I dont know how to check log information in the server side if it provides.
Our settings are like this in server.xml for server side :
    <Connector port="8443" protocol="HTTP/1.1" SSLEnabled="true"
    maxThreads="150" scheme="https" secure="false"
    clientAuth="false" sslProtocol="TLS" />
Please let me know whether above settings are OK for Anonymous authentication or not.
If above settings are OK, please let me know how can I debug into the problem.
Server is being run with TomCat.
As I am not familiar with Java, May be I did not provide enough details.
You may think that if I am not familiar, why I am posting ? :) I am supporting some other project team for SSL. So, we have faced this problem. I am familiar with SSL but not Java.
Please let me know if you need any further details.
    Thank you very much !
    Regards
    Satish.

    3. But for Anonymous authenticationAnonymous authentication is a contradiction in terms. What you are doing is anonymous SSL, i.e. with no authentication.
the connection fails in read server hello. Fails how? With what exception? stack trace? message? What happens if you run the server with -Djavax.net.debug=ssl,handshake?
Please let me know whether above settings are OK for Anonymous authentication or not. They are not. You would have to enable one or more of the anonymous cipher suites. They are disabled by default.
Next question, why are you doing anonymous SSL? Are you aware that it isn't secure?

  • Jabber for windows 9.2.1 - InitialPhoneSelection doesn't work if configuration is in custom config file

    Hi,
my customer wanted set InitialPhoneSelection to deskphone mode, when users firs run Jabber for Windows (ver. 9.2.1).
I created custom config (configurationfile=jabber-config-deskphone.xml) but it doesn't work.
    Policies>
         <InitialPhoneSelection>deskphone</InitialPhoneSelection>
    </Policies>
I tested it couple times and at the end I tried put configuration to default jabber-config.xml and ... this functionality start working...
Could you check guys if you have same problem with custom config file? I think that it is bug. Maybe other option don't work in custom config file.
    Thanks a lot
    Pavel

    Hi Pavel,
This setting is only when the client is installed and started by the user for the first time. After that the client will save the user preference (what was the phone selection when the user exited the client)  and use it in subsequent logins.
Having said that, can you please specify in details how exactly you did your tests or maybe test again taking the above into consideration ?
    Thanks,
    Christos

  • How to edit a captured custom .wim file?

    Hi folks,
I am in process of gaining experience with capturing and deploying Windows 7 SP1 from our WDS server using unattend file.
Everything is working, since we installed our applications, ran sysprep, and captured a custom .wim file.
Now we deploy it using unattend file and everything works.
I am trying to figure out if there is a best practice here for adding applications to this new custom .wim file?
I've tried deploying this new image to a unit, installed app, and run sysprep but fails with this error:
A fatal error occurred while trying to sysprep the machine.
I am thinking this has to do with multiple syspreps or something?
I am trying to avoid having to use a default install.wim and app install automation with MDT or something like that.  We are strict to WDS only right now.
    Appreciate any comments,
    Thanks!  romatlo

Offline servicing allows for adding/removing drivers and updates in MSU/CAB files.
I do not use MDT either. If you want to "install" a new application to an image that is "out of arms" then you will need to install it after deployment. If your image has an answer file, you can mount your image. Then copy the installation files to it or
you can keep it on a network share. Then in the answer file, you can put in the commands to install it using FirstLogonCommands.
I typically like to reference a .cmd file in my unattend that I can add/remove commands to finalized images. So if a client wants to install a new program but doesn't want to recreate the image, then I can have it installed that way.
    <FirstLogonCommands>
    <SynchronousCommand wcm:action="add">
    <Order>1</Order>
    <Description>Set up Service Account</Description>
    <CommandLine>cmd /C start /wait c:\folder\FirstLog.cmd</CommandLine>
    </SynchronousCommand>
    </FirstLogonCommands>

  • How do I support multiple custom WSDL files in one application?

I am developing an application that will integrate with SOD. This application will be run at multiple customers - each of which could have their own set of custom fields defined for the various objects that we're interested in. Is there a web service that allows you to access custom objects and fields in a generic fashion or am I going to have to obtain each customer's custom WSDL file and write some sort of adapter for each that plugs into our main integration logic?
Based on everything I've tried and read, it seems like the latter is true.

    Hi !
As I am developing many customer applications with OCOD interface, I confirm that the only way I see is to have an adapter. For example, having a folder WSDL containing one sub folder for each customer. And these sub folders will contain the customer specific wsdl.
Then you'll have to run your application in a customer context, I mean knowing who is running the application and then set your wsdl path regarding this identification.
Hoep this will help, feel free to ask more !

  • How to create a custom ear file and deploy it onto a freshly created oc4j

    Hi,
Wanted to know that how should i go about creating a custom EAR file or for that matter any application and deploy it onto a test oc4j instance created within the 10.1.3 Home of Oracle Apps R12.
I believe in a standalone Application server installation it is quite simple to deploy an application by creating an oc4j instance using the AS console ,but not very sure about how to go about it in Oracle Apps .
N.B:I have been able to create a test oc4j instance by the name of Test and able to start and stop it using the opmn of 10.1.3 oracle home.
Any help in this regard will be appreciated.

    Hi,
can you please post this question to one of the Apps forums if your main concern is to deploy applications in the context of Oracle Apps?
It seems that you don't have a problem in creating the EAR file in JDev.

  • Cannot find my custom swatch files to share with InDesign

I have created some custom swatch files in Photoshop and would like use them in InDesign as well - but I can't find them! They are always there and available for use in PS, but I cannot find them anywhere on my hard drive. The "Color Swatches" file under "Presets" in PS contains just the swatches that came with the software; I have searched the hard drive for other *.aco files or folders containing such files, but turned up nothing.
    Any ideas?

  • Looking for a way to create/edit a newsletter online, then be able to generate a customized PDF file

I am looking for a way to be able to customize a newsletter online, then be able to export/generate a PDF file from that newsletter.
Basically this is for a friend that is a real estate agent, and currently she is creating the newsletters in MS Publisher. I'm hoping to find a way to be able to allow her to login to a secure area of her webpage(that part isn't a problem) but then be able to create/customize a monthly newsletter that needs to be customizable.
For example, the August Newsletter will be 2-sided, and most of the newsletter will be the same, but she needs to be able to have a newsletter for different apartment buildings so the customers can just go to their building link/area on the webpage and be able to download that month's custom PDF file that has a portion of the main newsletter that is a table/list of properties for that specific location.  The data will be stored in a database.
After writing the above, I can probably create a front-end to the database so she can enter everything that way, but I still need a way for her to generate the customized PDFs after she is done with that month's data.
I was hoping Adobe had something that could be used, or am I stuck using php or Javascript and just doing this with custom scripting?
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks!
    John

I think you will have to do the latter.  While you are thinking about writing the PDF file, don't overlook fpdf (google it)....
