Another Invalid Signature Problem

For the last few Itunes updates, I have received the "invalid Signature" message and whilst there are a lot of other people reporting this problem, I haven't seen a definitive answer. I am directly ethernet connected to my Linksys router and everything else downloads perfectly. I will try to use another machine to download the update and copy it but I was hoping for a real answer???
Paul Nol UK

A real answer would take some poking around in your particular model Linksys settings.
I saw one post about an MTU setting not matching between the router and the PC, but that was with a wireless setup, not ethernet like you have.
Frankly it would just be easier to download it from another PC, I think.
However, I'm curious if you can get a large download from any other site. The latest itunes DL is around 79MB. Adobe reader is about 49MB - does that go through?

  • Invalid signature problems pdating Itunes to 10.5 on WinXP

Since the Itunes 10.5 update was released, I have tried to update v.10.2 using the "Check for updates" menu command.  Everytime I have tried to install the new version, and after doing everything short of uninstalling Itunes that the community has suggested, it will not download.
After the second of the three data packets are downloaded, I get the following error:
"Itunes has an invalid signature. It will not be installed."
Seeing the number of WinXP issues with Itunes 10.5, I think it is time a patch is created.
    Anyone have any suggestions?

how you solve it? I have the same problem ;(

  • How do I fix the "Invalid Signature" problem?

I keep getting this error message everytime I try to update my software to 10.6.3. I've even tried the suggestion of a manual download and it still says the same thing. Does it make any difference to say that my iTunes and accompanying music are saved on an external hard drive? I've never had this issue before.

Go directly to Apple link to download
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1426
Select "Save" instead of "Run". Once downloaded, double click the iTunessetup.exe or iTunessetup64.exe to install.

  • Attempting to install iTunes Version 10.5 and getting Invalid Signature. Can someone please help???

I am attempting to install iTunes Version 10.5. I am getting the following messages...
"Files shared by these updates" has an invalid signature. It will not be installed.
"iTunes" has an invalid signature. It will not be installed.
"Safari 5" has an invalid signature. It will not be installed.
I somehow got around this annoying "invalid signature" problem before by installing the iTunes update through the Apple site.
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
When I tried that, now I get...
"The installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured. Errors occurred during installation. Your system has not been modified. Please run the installer again, or click Finish to Exit"
All this to get the latest iPhone software. And every blessed time I go to Sync my iPhone, I run into iTunes issue on my Dell PC here. I guess PC and Mac just cannot play well together.
Can someone PLEASE help me out here???
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi. I also had this problem when trying to connect a new iPhone 4S & it needed iTunes 10.5. Went to the Apple website as update section of iTunes was not getting any luck - went to downloads section of Apple website & downloaded the whole iTunes 10.5 program as though I did not have it in the first place (& also downloaded the programs for Quicktime 7.7.1 & Safari 4.0.3) ie not just the upgrades. I created a restore point in my Windows XP in case it all went pear shaped & then went ahead & installed all 3 programs. Opened iTunes at the end & all my music, apps, movies were all still there & now the new iPhone 4S works perfectly with the iTunes. Hope this helps.

  • Errror downloading iTunes: Invalid signature

I have been running an old version of iTunes with no problem & have just downloaded the new version 7.6? I got an error halfway thru the download "iTunes has an invalid signature it will not be downloaded". I carried on & the icon installed etc. & Quicktime tells me itunes is installed correctly, but when I try to launch it nothing happens. Has anyone got any suggestions. Tried un-installing & re-installing, running all my system scans & nothing works??

    atvrcr500,
Have you tried connecting through a different router? That has solved the "invalid signature" problem for several folks.

I've had this problem for awhile in Windows XP SP3. Last night, the simplest thing occurred to me...here's what I did (and I'm telling because it worked).
    1. Clicked on Start
    2. Clicked on Control Panel
    3. Chose Add/Remove Programs
    4. Found Apple Software Updater and clicked Remove, then responded Yes
    5. Went to apple.com and clicked on Support, and then Downloads
    6. Downloaded the latest version of Safari ONLY
    7. Installed Safari (knowing it would install the latest version of Apple Software Update)
    8. AFTER the installation was complete, I clicked again on Start, then All Programs
    9. then, clicked on Apple Software Update

  • I'm having a problem updating the iTunes software. Receiving "invalid signature". Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Hi Everyone,
I have been trying to update iTunes, Safari, and Quicktime. Keep receiving "invalid signature" and then it removes the attempted download. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I have had this happen as well. What I had to do was sync the iPod to remove the album and the resync the album back to the Classic. I've had this happen with my iPhones as well. Must be a bug in either the current OS or iTunes versions.

  • Please help me itunes 8 wont load w/ invalid signature error

There has to be some sort of cosmic joker who is laughing at all of us. Perhaps the folks at Verisign are playing games with us or maybe it's Microsoft. How can there be a requirement to upgrade to itunes 8 when you purchase a new Nano and then not be able to do it because of an invalid signature error. I'm not the only one who has had this problem as I see it all over the web. I have tried it on another system sitting right next to this one (Win vista x32bit) and it didn't work either. I have deleted everything and updated win installer ver 4.5 and nothing works. The application wont run because of the signature error. I'm sure that the powers that be know what the problem is but dont want to release the fix because one side or the other hasn't been paid the appropriate money. It's always about the money. I have read every thread and suggestion that I could find but cant get it to work. If anyone has the answer please help me. I'm not a technotard and this is frustrating

I am afraid AFIK a clear cut solution for this hasn't emerged.
Are you trying to update with Apple Software Update. You might try repairing it from add/remove programs and trying again after a restart.
Have you tried downloading the iTunes installer from here:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Save the file on your desktop and run it from there.
I would clear your temporary Internet files and restart your PC before doing this.
If that doesn't work, maybe running the installer from your browser would work, although saving the file is usually best.
I have one report that a problem with a router causes this problem and that replacing the router fixed it, but in this case all downloads were affected.
It would be interesting to see if you can install the standalone Quicktime as a test. You can download it from here:
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
You want the version without iTunes, which is not the default.

  • Invalid signature when trying to install Photoshop CC extension using the Adobe Extension Manager CC and default installed Photoshop CC extensions won't load

I have a Creative Cloud subscription for Photoshop CC. All Creative Clouds products are updated to the latest versions. When I tried to install Tony Kuyper's TKActionv3 Photoshop extension using the Adobe Extension Manager CC on my PC desktop, I received an error message that the extension contained an invalid signature and wouldn't be installed. I had previously installed the extension on my laptop without any problems. At the same time, I also noticed the default installed Photoshop CC extensions (e.g., Adobe Exchange, Kuler, Mini Bridge, Behance) could not be loaded using the Windows/Extension command. I receive an error message that the command could not be completed because the extension could not be loaded. After contacting Tony Kuyper, he suggested that I try the steps mentioned in the following weblink: https://forums.adobe.com/message/6029768. The steps basically consist of uninstalling and reinstalling all the Creative Cloud apps associated with Photoshop CC. I tried the steps multiple times, but I am still having the same problems. I can find the default installed Photoshop CC extensions on my machine, so I don't know why they can't be loaded.
    Thanks for your assistance,
    Mark Curtis

    Hi Mark
You say everything is up to date?  And you have tried reinstalling all the CC apps?  Is Windows also fully up to date?  Hmmm...  That could be tricky.
What version of Windows are you using?  Have a look in Task Manager > Processes and see if 'CEPServiceManager.exe *32' is listed as running?
If not, I don't know where it would be installed from, and we'd need someone like Chris Cox to join the thread to tell us, but my guess is that it would install along with the CC Desktop Application Manager.  Windows 8.1 can be problematic, and a bit fussy about the order of things, and it is definitely worth adopting best practice when installing your CC apps.  That means restarting your computer, and right clicking the Desktop Application manager and running as Administrator.
How many CC apps are you running?  If just Photoshop, Bridge, Expansion manager etc. then - and I hate to say this - perhaps have another go at reinstalling, but run the Cleaning tool after uninstalling.
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
Try some other Extensions before the Tony Kuyper's TKActionv3.  GuideGuide is a favourite of mine, as well as Dmonzon tools, and maybe Russell Brown's Flypaper Textures.
I have to say that I have had problems with the CC Extension Manager a while back, but simply reinstalling just the Extension Manager fixed it.  Perhaps CEPServiceManager.exe *32 installs with Extension Manager?  Heck, maybe start with just trying that before reinstalling all your CC apps.
If you are still stuck, I'd risk sending Chris Cox a PM, but not until you triple check that your video card driver is up to date from the card maker's website.
Good luck, and be sure to let us know how you get on.

  • Unable to install itunes 7.5 becasue of invalid signature

I just bought a new iPod touch and it is my 3rd iPod.
i have been trying to download the lastest version of iTunes and everytime i try to download it, it says "unable to download itunes 7.5 becuase of invalid signature."
please Help. i have no idea what to do.

I can't help you, but I am having the same error message : 1921. I bought a new ipod nano and cannot use it because of this. Installation seems to be going fine until it stalls at the part where it says Status: Stopping Services. I don't have dial-up so I don't think that's the issue. I have contacted Apple support and all they can say is to look on the discussion board, continue to look on the help page, and read an article that says this happens when you try to install itunes 5, and that it could be that Windows Management Istrumentation service isn't running on your computer OR that Norton Interntet security 2005 is running on the computer. To resolve this issue, install itunes 5.0.1 or later. This makes no sense because I am trying to install itunes 7.5.
I have tried to uninstall itunes and I get another error message: -1603 Fatal Error During installation. consult Windows Installer Help(Msi.chm) or MSDN for more info. I have tried doing this, but I really don't know much about computers. I'm not really sure if I am tring to remove itunes correctly. I am just so frustrated and hoping that someone out there has a solution to this particular problem.
Any suggestions would be greatly apprectiated!

  • 8.2.1 error message "iTunes + Quicktime" has an invalid signature.

I am getting this error message when I am trying to download & install the 8.2.1 update. The entire message states "iTunes + Quicktime" has an invalid signature, it will not be installed. I saw another post started by Cfrolich, but it doesn't look like they got the problem fixed. Has anyone had this same error message? Can anyone help??

I have not had this problem before but the latest update to iTunes + Quicktime, offered today, puts me in the same situation.
The web is covered with reports of this issue over the years, always "iTunes + Quicktime has an invalid signature", but nothing I can see which is a good fix for the problem.
Tried chkdisk, install manually doesn't work, the installer just keeps trying.
Tried installing QT 7.6.4 independently from the Apple download page, that didn't help either.
If this is so prevalent, why isn't there more on the main Apple site about it?
