Another issue concerning FlateDecode

Hello, everyone. I've been said to repost this thread here, so there it is.
I've got an issue concerning parsing a  pdf file. I'm trying to create a php parser for the pdf files, that  extract text AND fonts, any other data i can extract might also help my  needs, but is not absolutely necessary.
And so on for the  last two weeks i've been surfing the net, trying to find a fitting  solution, but unfortunately, none of those could extract fonts, so i  decided i should inflate streams myself, and extract information i need,  yet again, unfortunately, i've only found a few php functions, like  gzinflate, and, for some reason, they do not work on MY pdf file. After  several attempts, i gave up on trying to get all i want at once and  started trying to simply decode the stream by any means necessary. But i  also failed, all of the user(developer)-written functions couldn't  inflate it. Some of the functions returned 5-6  64-bit symbols after  decoding a stream with length of over 5000.
Most fitting  solutions were found while surfing adobe forums: "remove first 2 bytes  add a header and inflate" - that method returned two symbols after  inflation.
Incase i do not add the header i get an error calling  gzinflate function. I've also attempted to decode removing different  number of bytes from start - from zero to 15 bytes. All of them failed.
From what i know atm:
* my pdf streams are only using flatedecode filter;
* my pdf file is version 1.4, which is written in both adobe reader info and in raw source at first line;
* my data is kept in ansi format;
* stream should be trimmed before trying to decode it;
* gzinflate function uses both Huffman Encoding and RFC 1951, so i do not need to add a header, only got to remove first 2 bytes.
In  addition there is some mysterious info, that flatedecode is one of two  filters which take up some parameters, although info on what those  parameters are and how do i call inflation with them failed to be found.
Finally  i've downloaded a sample.pdf file, that is also using pdf version 1.4  and flate decode alone and by simply removing first 2 bytes and calling  gzinflate, i've succeeded in decoding the data stream.
So  the question is: "wtf?"... my stream is NOT damaged, because i'm able to  open it with adobe reader and is not password-protected, why can't i  decode it then?
There is also another question, in first data stream we see:

P.S. as a worst case scenario, i'll be left with no other choice but to write whole script on a low lvl myself, and it'd really be bothersome if it wouldn't work after writing it all, so i gotta know what is wrong with those streams.

Regarding ISO 32000-1:2008 - both yes and no. I've looked through it, trying to find any useful information about pdf 1.4 and flatedecode, but only managed to find tiny bits of information i've already known, nothing about different types of flatedecode, nor about hidden encoding that is not shown in filter list.
But, ofc, i haven't read all 800 pages... My goal is not to become PDF specialist, i just want to decode a stream.

    I am running the most up-to-date version of Edge, because I knew about the other Chrome issue since it was affecting a lot of my work.
    But I haven't seen anything else to do with it since the update and now I'm getting another issue. Not sure if its the same kind of thing or not.

    Basically on the page with "Meet Jeff" there are two little white semi-circles and the hit box should be in the right button but its actually off set and further right than it should be.
    I've looked through the composition and the hitbox is within a symbol (s_cpl_fa_0_guide_page1) so also not sure whether its because of that?

  • I just had another issue with cs6 locking up.

    I just had another issue with cs6 locking up.  This time, I was in cs6 beta working on an image, I went to file/open to open another existing file in photoshop, and when the finder window popped up to select a .jpg to open up, the cursor wouldn't respond to the finder window that was opened up, and I couldn't close it out, and I had to force quite cs6.

    If I'm reading this correctly, your last kernel panic (that's what these are called) occured six months ago.  Is that correct?  It probably does not have anything to do with the number of windows you have open; I suspect it has to do with one of the third party kexts or non-apple hardware.  My guess would be something with parallels (is the software up to date?), but if you're only getting panics at 6 month intervals it's really hard to diagnose. 
    Kernel panics aren't fun, but they aren't the end of the world.  make sure you keep regular backups, and if you can figure out how to replicate the panic at a more frequent interval we can figure it out.

    I am trying to find out if there is anyone who has experienced any issues concerning Photoshop and OS 10.5.4? Specifically, before I installed 10.5.4 my P-Shop 7.0 was working fine. After the install I can't open it at all...the error message reads "An unexpected and unrecoverable problem has occurred because of a program error. Photoshop will now exit."
    +as an aside, what is the point in displaying error messages that do not offer solutions to correcting the error. As far as I am concerned, every error messages ought to offer possible causes, effects and solutions. At least you would be able to zero in on the root.+
    Anyway, back to my question. I have re-installed Photoshop and the same error message pops up. I can't find anything on the MAC site that seems to address this. I also have tried several MAC software updates thinking that might help but still nothing. The thing is, I need usuable access to the Photoshop program in order to execute aspects of my business.
    Anyone have any ideas other than scraping 10.5.6?

    Technically it's a surprise that version of Photoshop is working with any version of Leopard considering it's seven years old. The current version is 11.x.x. I recommend you update it.
    Error messages cannot always offer solutions when the direct cause of the error is unknown. Error messages are mainly intended for a technician not the user. If error messages were designed for users the size of the operating system would double or treble just to accommodate the text information, and the OS would be much slower.

    If there is a pattern of the application working up to Firefox 3.6.3 and not working starting with Firefox 3.6.4, there could be a problem with trying to communicate events between firefox.exe (which hosts pages) and plugin-container.exe (which hosts some plugins). You can tweak your settings to force plugins to run in firefox.exe to see whether this is the problem. This article has some background information on that:

    No, I don't know. Obviously I can't read every post here, but I haven't read about it before.
    Is it a stupid question to ask: why does that matter?? To fix the application to work in Firefox 3.6 and above, we need to see a page that works on other browsers and fails in Firefox. It doesn't need to be the whole application, just enough to demonstrate the problem so that if we solve it, then you can apply that learning back to your application.

    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Change Password from the Installer menu up at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
    *Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Change Password.*
    Of course for 10.7 & up there is no Install Disk, so boot from your Restore Partition holding CMD+r keys, & look for it there.

    The first thing you should consider is that do you really need this many tables in Your Universe ??
    Follow the foolowing steps Before designining :
    1) Have a clear scope define for Universe , i.e You are designing Universe for Sales Or Marketing or Human Resource etc .
    2) Once you know the Scope and Target Audience and purpose is clear then segregate the tables based on your scope i.e define the scope of tables inside your schema
    3) Clearly have all the reorting requiremnet in place
    Then go for normal design procedure

  • [SOLVED] Slight issue concerning pacman & bash completion

    I've come across a small issue when using the -Rs option with pacman.
    The auto completion doesn't appear to be working for the first package name passed after the -Rs option.
    For example, when issuing the command
    pacman -Rs firefox
    and pressing tab twice, it will not show any options or auto-complete. However, if I add another package to be removed:
    pacman -Rs firefox chr
    and hit the tab key twice, autocomplete will work, and it'll autocomplete to chromium.
    Bash-completion (2.0-3) is installed, and the rest of the system is up to date. Am I missing something here, or have I stumbled upon a bug?

    I don't know so much about it, but I'm under the impression that bash-completion for pacman (once enabled in ~/.bashrc by adding "complete -cf pacman") works by default by checking the user's PATH variable, i.e. it will offer to complete pacman commands with the name of any executable in the user's PATH's () as well as the contents of the current directory. ... which means: if firefox isn't installed, it won't find it; if it is, it will offer this completion; if there's a file called firefox in the current directory, it will also offer it.
    but as I said, I'm not an expert on bash-completion

  • VERY UNHAPPY with multiple issues concerning my account.

    I have been a Verizon customer for about 3 years now, and I was out of contract after my first two years, and when my iPhone started having issues last month, I took the plunge and purchased another phone, a Galaxy s5, last month, and went back in contract. I am unhappy with MANY things right now:
    ~When I took in my iPhone, no one in the store could help me as far as knowing anything about the issues my out of contract phone was having. They just wanted to sell me a new phone.
    ~When I decided to purchase a new phone, I told the salesgal that I didn't want the payment plan/Edge, that I wanted to pay for the phone straight out, I didn't want to pay for insurance, and I did not need a car charger. She said okay. I also purchased a screen saver while I was there, and a phone case, so I had multiple items purchased. My s5 was supposed to be eligible for a $50 rebate, so she started putting stuff in the big Verizon bag, and told me she was printing out my rebate form. I get home (I do not live in the city where I purchased the phone) and guess what? She didn't put in my $50 rebate form that she printed out, and there is a car charger in the bag that she charged me for, which I told her I did not need.
    ~The next day, an area managerial type of rep from Verizon calls to ask me how my experience was, and I told her. She informs me that I cannot take back the car charger at the Verizon store in my hometown, that I would have to take it back to the store where I purchased it, even though I do not live in that city, and I work two jobs (can't get there). I told her the sales gal did not put my rebate form in the bag that she printed out, and she said that SHE would send me one in the mail, and took my information.
    ~Guess what? SHE didn't send me the form, either.
    ~This coincides close to the time where I get my new Verizon bill in the mail...guess what? They added insurance to my account, even though I told them at the store that I didn't want it. I spent 20 minutes on the phone with Verizon getting credited and the insurance taken off.
    ~I finally get on Verizon chat this week, and the chat rep tries to help me with the rebate form, since two other people obviously can't get it to me. He gets me the information, I enter it in...and now the $50 rebate promotion is saying that it is no longer valid.
    ~I also find out at work this week, that my company has employee discounts through Verizon. I have worked for this company for a year and a half. This is a 17% discount on my bill, and also on phone purchases, etc. I get on Verizon chat again, and try to see if there is any way my discount could be backdated, since I was never aware of eligibility. I told them I could provide any form of proof of employment they may need. Not only could I have saved 17% for the past 18 months, but I could have just gotten my new phone for $50 cheaper. I was told by the Verizon rep that they couldn't help me, and they could give me a "$5 credit". No offer of compromise, backdating a month or two-nothing.
    If you are adding all of this up, here is what I am currently out:
    ~$50 rebate because two people promised to give me something and didn't, and it ran out.
    ~$27 for a phone charger I said I didn't want, but was thrown in on the sly with my phone box/phone case/accessories last month with my phone purchase
    ~Insurance I said I didn't want (I did get this rectified)
    ~Approximately $324 in company discounts over the past year, and $50 company discount on my phone that I just purchased last month.
    This is at least $451 of charges that I have paid for, but shouldn't have...and I get no apologies...just the run around from customer service reps and reasons why they can't help/won't help me. The only person who has been helpful was the phone rep who removed the insurance I didn't want from my account.

    Any problems with an iPhone must be addressed to Apple.  Verizon can't touch your iPhone for service.

    Before you left the store you signed a receipt for the sale.  Why didn't you read it?

    I agree it's inconveinient, but I can't see a way around it.  You certainly should call and inform the store of the error and that when you can you will return the charger and expect credit.

    Rebates can be printed online.

    Also would have been fixed if your read your receipt.  Can also be removed from your account online with no need to call customer service.

    Rebates are based on purchase date.

    They are not responsible for you not taking the discount and they never discount phones, only service.
    One customer to another, you have no basis for these complaints.  I do applaud you for buying your phone outright.  That way you also can keep your line discount.  ( or have you requested the line discount?  It isn't automatic )

    If you have questions concerning Performance Management make sure OSA is mentioned somewhere in the title or body. It seems the search finds this keyword the most reliant.
    I weekly do a search to answer PA-PD-PM (OSA/ Performance Manager) questions.

  • Another issue...again...

    So I just got my logic board replace ($300 cost to me) after the Hard drive crashed (another out of pocket expense) and the keys on the keyboard starting falling out and the trackpad started to sink (also out of pocket expense). And now my Macbook does this about once every 15 minutes.
    First I lost my iTunes library when it did this, and I was able to add it back in no problem. But now I lost all my MacMail stuff, saved letters from my attorney that had to do with the custody battle for my daughter. Everything. GONE. Very important emails gone without a trace due to another failure on possibly the worst constructed Mac ever. I am just lost for words. I dunno how much of this I can take before I go back to PC because this has been a horrific experience for me. I love my Mac, but I just can't have these problems as this is meant to be my reliable machine and it has done nothing but be a wreck.
    Last time I talked to Apple Care they said I could get a replacement Mac if this is another major issue. Though I have no phone support anymore so how I can get that...who knows.

    You're having kernel panics, which again is a hardware issue, often bad RAM. If you're interested in trying to resolve it:

    Otherwise, call Apple and ask for Customer Relations. If they've promised you a new machine, take it.
    As for your lost email, try opening Mail and selecting "Rebuild" under the Mailbox menu. It's likely your mail is still there somewhere. And then back everything up! In fact, you should probably set your mail not to delete from the server as long as you're experiencing hardware failures.

  • Another issue of Browserlab not displaying IE screenshots...

    Browserlab is showing the screenshots for Chrome, FF and Safari, but refuses to give me an IE7/8/9.  Has anyone solved this issue?
    IE7 error: "This program cannot isplay the webpage."
    IE8 error: blank white page with no delay, and blank black page with 10 sec delay
    IE9 error: blank white page

    After chasing our tails for a bit, we found there are actually a couple of different issues we were looking at. The reproducible case with a different URL I thought I'd found was a completely separate issue that we're still investigating.
    As far as the problem with your URL, BrowserLab is having one issue, but for the most part, our renderings are accurate in IE. Something about that page is causing it to render incorrectly in all versions of IE that we were able to test. I'm attaching a screenshot as a sample of what we got in IE7 for your URL.
    Here are the results we got from that URL testing outside of BrowserLab:
    IE6 on XP: Blank white page
    IE7 on XP: Doesn't render right, see screenshot
    IE8 on Win7: Looks the same as IE7
    IE9 on Win7: White page
    The one issue it looks like we have is that BrowserLab returns an error for IE7 and not that blank black screen. We'll investigate that issue as well as the one I found with another site, but other than that, there are big problems with that page in IE.

  • HELP NEEDED....​.Yet Another Issue With The S510P

    Okay first off, when I bought this laptop....I was using a computer I had owned since 2001 and it worked but was slow. Ever since I have purchased this laptop, I have encountered one issue after another. First it was registry errors, then after that it was trying to uninstall a program which it refused to do, Windows not loading properly, and now I am having issues with the Photo section of the Library. When I go to use a photo, half of them do not load and the ones that do are partially loaded. Which of course causes the computer to freeze up and the restart the page I was on, today this has happened 5 TIMES.
    I need help fixing this, and I will also state I will NEVER purchase a Lenovo product again. Leave it to this company to sell a $700 computer that is riddled with issues and then to tell your customer that its their problem.
    Mind you this is coming off of the heels of waiting 1 month for a freaking power cable, and then they tell me that they want the old one back or else they will charge me for it. Good luck Lenovo, it is under warranty so as you told me, "That's your problem."

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
    Unresponsive keys or key mapping issues are certainly not "normal" or how iPhone is designed to function. While it's impossible to know exactly what the issue is, your phone is covered for at least one-year by Apple against issues like this. That is of course, assuming there's no physical or water damage done to the phone. +General disclaimer, as I don't have your phone in front of me.+
    As for the next step, it's obvious that someone within AppleCare needs to have a look at the phone and determine the issue (replicate, etc.). It is then that they can issue a more suitable solution and/or judgement on the issue. In the case of a visit to an Apple Store that would be a Mac Genius (via an appointment).
    I'd say make an appointment, with your iPhone, explain the issue and get them to replicate it. While I certainly can't promise they'll swap the phone for you, it'd seem as though an unresponsive device feature is grounds for covered by the limited one-year hardware warranty.

  • Ongoing issue concerning intermittent noise on lin...

    I do not seem to be having much success in getting BT's overseas call centre to deal with this issue, so I would be very grateful for any help on this forum, please.
    Since October last year, I have had intermittent broadband dropouts. It reached a stage where they were happening every 24 hours. I thought they were resolved when I bought a new router (I have always used third-party Netgear ones, I've never owned a BT HomeHub), and changed the cabling, but the problem has worsened during the last few days, especially the windy and rainy weather.
    On picking up my telephone handset, I noticed very loud static on the line, which made the dialing tone almost impossible to hear. On one or two occasions, the broadband connection dropped at the same time. I have tried the test socket - same problem. The static is intermittent, not persistent.
    Following the advice on these forums, I raised a voice fault initially. An engineer called yesterday, ran some tests on the line and said there did not appear to be anything wrong, and advised me to report it again as a broadband fault if the problem re-occurred. He also fitted what I believe to be a Mk 1 BT Openreach filtered ADSL faceplate. He said as the fault was intermittent, it was "very difficult to work with".
    All seemed well with the new faceplate until about 10pm on Friday. I happened to pick up the phone and noticed more static on the line, and my upstream noise margin dropped from 6.7 db to 0db. At the same time, the modem resynced, and the static cleared after about 30 seconds. The connection does NOT drop every time, though.
    The call centre has raised a broadband fault, but the line went mysteriously dead during the call (I was speaking to them on a separate line, not the one affected), and no-one from the call centre bothered to phone me back. I already had to explain the problem TWICE to them. Very frustrating.
    I really don't know if this is a high resistance fault, something wrong with the equipment at the exchange, or what? The engineer who attended made no tests for broadband faults, and said that the broadband tests were much more complex.
    I'm stumped. I wonder if a moderator or a knowledgeable person here could please advise me further? I really would like this resolved.

    Many thanks for your reply, imjolly. I've checked the cables and positioned the router away from any possible sources of interference.
    Further to my earlier post, I tried another telephone handset this morning (an Opticom B300) and noticed that the background hiss was almost continuous this time, while the router was switched on. There was no crackling, though, and the connection did not drop. But when the router was powered down, the line was much quieter.
    I'm guessing the broadband signal is starting to "break through" to the voice signal. That shouldn't happen, should it??
    I went back to a BT Decor 110 handset (the one I always use) and the background noise was much reduced, even while the router was powered on.
    No dropouts so far. I'm no expert in these matters, but it's almost as if an electrical charge begins to "build up" on the line, and then I will get a "storm" of static and crackles for up to 30 seconds. Then a loss of sync. Could be any time of day. Still stumped!
