Another movie problem

I just got a new ipod classic 80gb for Christmas. I wanted to download the little clips they have for the movies. I think they call them (vignette) I downloaded one with no problem but when I downloaded the others it said I couldn't do this on this ipod. What I noticed is that the one I could download actually said it was for ipod. You know how they have small,med,large this one had ipod. So I chose that one. But the others never had anything for ipod.
Another thing I noticed when looking at the info for these clips. The one I could download was in the format of mpg4 the others only quicktime. My question is is this something with the reader like the other person had? Or is that because I have windows, or my settings aren't right. The settings I don't know if they are right for the movies?

  • Using Events To Play Another Movie Clip

    Dear Readers:
    I have a set of buttons in my flash movie that, when a mouse
    cursor passes over it, another movie clip on the stage causes a
    layer with text to gradually appear from below. It pops up, so to
    speak, and eventually stops, displaying the text related to the
    button in full view.
    Passing over a different button causes the text layer to move
    downward, slowly disappear off the stage, then reappear in the same
    manner with text associated with that latest button. Its fairly
    simple and works fine, as long as the user waits patiently for the
    text layer to scroll down and back up before passing over another
    button. See code below.
    However, if the user decides to quickly pass over multiple
    buttons (before the text layer reaches the top), the event handler
    is coded such that if the mouseover event occurs BEFORE the text
    layer reaches the top, the text layer starts over at the bottom, so
    the transition is not smooth. Imagine the text layer just about to
    reach the top, when the mouseover event occurs, now the text layer
    starts over from the bottom. Very choppy.
    I'd like to grab the current frame of the text layer movie
    clip when the mouseover event occurs, and have the layer move back
    down from there, reach the bottom, then come back up, rather than
    starting from the bottom. Any help in coming would be great. Thanks
    in advance.

    yourI = setInterval(f,t) starts a loop. it repeatedly calls
    the function f() every t milliseconds until a clearInterval(yourI)
    is executed.
    the most common problem that occurs with setInterval() is
    executing it twice (or more) with no intervening clearInterval().
    when that happens all hell breaks loose and the swf will call the
    function much more rapidly than intended and can not be (easily)
    stopped no matter how many clearInterval() statements you try and
    execute.
    the easiest way to prevent that problem is to execute a
    clearInterval() just BEFORE all setInterval() statements. it
    doesn't hurt anything to (try and) clear and interval that doesn't
    exist and occasionally it'll stop the seemingly bizarre problems
    that occur with out-of-control intervals:
    clearInterval(yourI);
    yourI=setInterval(f,t);

  • Why doesn't the original document I'm dragging and dropping from one folder to another move?

    Why doesn't the original document I'm dragging and dropping from one folder to another move?
    What's happening is the computer is creating a duplicte of the document and placing it in the new location with a new creation date.  The original document I wanted to drag and drop into a new location remains where it started as the "original" document and the new copy has this little arrow protruding up from the lower left of its icon.
    At first I thought it was an alias, but it's a copy of the document I thought I was dragging and dropping.
    What gives here?
    Steve

    That arrow indicates it is a linik to the original, though. This happens if you wish to drag files, for which you do not have permissions to do this operation, e.g. from Library or System folder. I am pretty sure you do not accomplish this operation from/to folders like Desktop or Documents; if so, there is a problem with your system.

  • Syncing movies problem on ipad 2

    Here is the problem I am having. I have multiple movies, some are bought from itunes, some are digital copies also download from itunes, some are files converted to a .m4v and .mp4 formats from other sources. The converted files have custom artwork (i.e. whatever I have arbitrarily decided to put there). When I sync these movies to the ipad 2 the cover artwork is multiplying itself to other movies. (e.g. Movie A will not have it's own cover artwork but a duplicate of another movie.) When I click the movie to watch it brings up the information screen for that movie and the proper artwork recovers itself, but when I put it back to the video home app it reverts back to the infected artwork. So basically it will appear there are duplicate movies even though they are not. So now to the question: What is the fix to this particular problem? I'm using iOS 4.3.3. but I had this problem with iOS 4.3.2 as well.

    The problem is not with the conversion of the movie itself. The movie itself after being converted to the proper format works perfectly on the iPad 2. The problem is with the artwork associated with a particular movie. The only thing "custom" that I am referring to is the artwork which can be anything, any picture. When I am on the home screen on iPad I click the Videos app. The picture of all available movies on my iPad come up. Lets say there are 3 movies, all different (e.g. Batman, Ironman, and Superman). The artwork for all three movies will be the same. (i.e. Batman will have Ironman's cover art as will Superman. So it appears as if there are 3 Ironman movies all the same.) However when you click on the movie the artwork reverts back to the proper movie artwork. (i.e. Batman has Ironman artwork until I click on it, if you have used an iPad you know the next screen is an info screen with larger artwork. That artwork in that screen reverts back to the proper artwork for that particular movie. Batman previously showing Ironman artwork now has Batman artwork. If I hit back to go back to the main Videos app screen it reverts again back to the incorrect Ironman artwork for Batman's movie.) This is my problem. I've talked to some others and they have told me they have the same problem with Music artwork. How do I fix this problem? Again conversion is a non-issue, it has nothing to do with my artwork problem.

  • Importing .mov problem

    I created a project, everything going fine. I then tried to add more footage by importing another .mov. When I do the footage appears stretched in the events and projects window and won't display in the upper right window. I tried importing old footage and that appears stretched as well. I'm wondering if I accidentally changed some preference in imovie since footage hasn't changed. The old footage before the problem arose still renders well. Please help.

    Is there any chance you MOV file contains a chapter track? iMovie will not import files with a chapter track.
    If so, the solution is to delete the chapter track using an app like QuickTime Pro (Version 7)

  • Accessing a movie from another movie (class)

    Hi all!,
    Ok, this is a little bit complicated to explain, but I will
    try my best. First, please click on the link below to see the
    mockup that I did:
    Link
    to mockup
    Now for some explanation:
    First of all, the Flash makes use of an XML file to grab some
    data. This part was freakin complicated and it's actually a
    programmer who helped me with that but he is very unfamiliar with
    AS on the whole so he couldn't really help me with the rest. OK so
    basically in the first frame I am loading the XML, then what you
    are seeing on the stage is in frame 2.
    on the stage there are 2 movies:
    1. scrollPane_mc
    2. cables_mc
    For now you can check and uncheck the items in the scroll
    pane and you can roll over the cables to see their names.
    1. scrollPane_mc
    scrollPane_mc is a scroll pane component that has a movie
    called cableList_mc as source.
    cableList_mc itself is an empty movie with just 1 frame and
    which dynamically grabs a movie called cableListItem_mc (itself
    attached to a class of the same name) from the library and
    duplicates it, based on data from the XML file.
    code in cableList_mc:
    var startY:Number = -0.8;
    for (var cableName:String in VPN_Utils.cables) {
    var listItem:cableListItem_mc = new cableListItem_mc();
    listItem.name = cableName;
    listItem.x = 0;
    listItem.y = startY;
    listItem.cableNameText.text =
    VPN_Utils.cables[cableName][0];
    addChild(listItem);
    startY += 18;
    code for cableListItem_mc.as (1 cableListItem_mc is basically 1
    checkbox item):
    package {
    import flash.display.*;
    import flash.events.*;
    import flash.text.TextField;
    import VPN_Utils;
    public class cableListItem_mc extends MovieClip {
    private var checked:Boolean = true;
    public function cableListItem_mc() {
    addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, swap);
    private function swap(e:MouseEvent):void {
    if (checked) {
    this.gotoAndStop(2);
    } else {
    this.gotoAndStop(1);
    checked = !checked;
    trace (this + " " + this.name + " is " + checked);
    2. cables_mc
    cables_mc on the other hand just contains several movie
    clips, placed manually on the stage and all of them based on the
    class VPN_Cable.as
    code for VPN_Cable.as:
    package {
    import flash.display.*;
    import flash.events.*;
    public class VPN_Cable extends MovieClip {
    public function VPN_Cable() {
    addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER, onMouseOver);
    addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_OUT, onMouseOut);
    private function onMouseOver(e:MouseEvent):void {
    text_mc.visible = true;
    private function onMouseOut(e:MouseEvent):void {
    text_mc.visible = false;
    So basically now what I want to achieve is to control and
    talk to the cables from the scroll pane. So when I uncheck "Cable
    1" in the scroll pane, "Cable 1" on the stage should turn invisible
    for example.
    I hope this is clear....
    Thanks a lot! in advance!
    jon.

    Hi kglad!
    uhhh, thnx a lot for u reply =] but it's not exactly this
    that i'm looking for. Well yeah, i know i have to assign mouse
    listeners to my checkboxes (....) (and I already have actually),
    but could you give some details about that? That would help
    greatly. My problem is that I don't know how to talk to the cables
    (which are in a separate movie) from the checkboxes (which are in
    yet another movie).
    Thanks!
    And happy new year!
    jon.

  • How do I add another movie to the project area to work on without it being attached to a previous project?

    How do I add another movie to the project area to work on without it being attached to a previous project?

    No.  I have a number of items in the Event Library.  I am trying to move some of them to the Project Library and when I do it attaches itself to the other project I have there.

  • Settings changing when adding to another movie

    Each time I attach a new chapter (mini movie) PROJECT to the already existing main movie PROJECT the settings change. I have tried adding on the front with the new chapter as well as trying to add the main movie to the mini movie. Is there a way to lock all settings on a movie so when it is added to another movie the setting won't change oon either clip. The chapter movie is approximately 1 1/2 minutes long and the main clip is approximately 9 Minutes long. There are several transitions, and scrolls included in both clips.

    Hi Luis, thanks for the reply. I first made a video approximately 8 minutes long. I used digitized video, still images, sound tracks, titles and numerous transitions between the clips. I then opened a new project and made a movie of one of the last letters sent home by the veteran prior to his death. I also used transitions, movie clips, titles and various images. So far I have three of these last letters completed. I was able to copy and pasted two of the letter clips in front of the main generic movie. However, when I attempted to paste the third clip at the beginning of the main movie and two letters - it causes some of the titles, scrolls to overlap.

  • Having a loaded movie clip talk to another movie clip

    Here's what I want to do:
    Load a clip into my main movie - "loadedMovie"
    at the end of the timeline in "loadedMovie" i want a
    function, perhaps setColor, which will change the colour of another
    movie clip which sits in the main movie.
    Does this make sense? for a loaded movie clip to change the
    color of an instance of another movie?
    Many thanks,
    Ray

    Sure make sense.
    If the clip you like to target is on main timeline of the
    movie than
    you will use something like :
    on (release) {
    var my_color:Color = new Color(_root.SomeMC);
    my_color.setRGB(0xFF00FF);
    You can also refer to it by level:
    (_level123.SomeMC);

  • YAPP (Yet Another Printing Problem)

    I've found another printing problem - this time with colour printing.
    To my
    surprise, Forte (3.0.E.0) can print in colour (at least on a HP 690C,
    using
    NT drivers for the 660C, the printer being connected to a Win95
    machine).
    I can print OK with from my NT develpoment machine in colour, but when
    running
    the same app from the Win95 client with the printer attached locally the
    coloured text disappears. Has anyone else come across this problem?
    Is this another of the 'Printing works fine as long as it happens
    non-locally?'
    features?
    Thanks

    I wonder if this is related to the printing feature I discovered
    where things I print from Forte have a strong tendency to come out in
    the same colours as my windows desktop, which is
    typically yellow-on-black.

  • Locking a movie that is a level under another movie

    Hi, I am loading a movie onto a level above another movie,
    but the buttons of the movie below are still clickable through the
    movie above. Is there anyway I can lock the movie below when I load
    another one over it?
    Cheers!

    The only way I think of doing it is by putting a large button
    covering the whole movie that is transparent and doesnt do
    anything. That would disable the buttons on the level underneath
    from functioning.
    There must be a way of creating a layer that doesnt allow
    anything underneath it to be clickable?
