Ant questions: for Swing apps?

I have used Ant for my J2EE programs by deploying the ear file to the server. For my swing desktop apps I have used an executable Jar file, or JBuilder makes me a windows .exe file.
Can you use ant builds to make something appropriate for deploying Swing apps?

can anyone out there help me in writing the installer for an swing application which involves dowloading jars, external jars(third party) and some data files like xml etc..
how should i write the starting installer file for my app?

Hi there,
We found the solution to download the external jars we have kept all the
external jars seperatly untouched and unsigned by us in a directory in webserver and in the main jnlp we are specifying the extension jnlp file where i am specifying the list of jar files will be downloaded to the client without any hic-ups of security check.
Note:
1) In extension jnlp file <security> tag should be omitted.
2) In main jnlp file the application startup main class should have
System.setSecurityManager(null); as the first statement in the
main() method.
3) Place all the jars which are signed by you in the main jar file
where you need to put <security> tag with "all-permissions" value.

Questions for Subscription App.

I am using DPS Single Editions & currently have an app waiting for review. I wanted to change it to a subscription based app and had some questions.
Can I even build an app for Newstand with Single Editions?

If so, do I need to re-create the app within the App Builder to specify that it's going to be for the newstand? Or can I just use my original app & just change the options within iTunesConnect?
I just wanted confirmation, since I remember talking to Adobe Support saying that I could create subscriptions with the Single Editions (Creative Cloud Subscription). If I can't create subscriptions, is my only option to go with the Enterprise package?

Trouble selecting security questions for iOS app store

We bought my daughter an iPad mini for Christmas, and until today, were able to happily download apps from the iOS app store. But this morning, it prompted me to select three security questions before allowing a download. Which is fine, but it wouldn't provide any security questions to choose from. Steps to reproduce error:
Select an app to download/install
Receive prompt to select three security questions
Click OK
Receive prompt to enter apple ID password
Enter password
Receive dialog box requesting to select three security questions/answers, plus a rescue e-mail address
Click area to select first question
Receive a blank white box, which never fills in with anything
I'm baffled: nothing ever shows up in the box described in step 8), so I can never select a security question, so I can't continue the process of downloading apps. I've tried this several times over the course of the day today, and I'm getting nowhere. Any thoughts?

Ok, problem solved. It turns out that rebooting the iPad caused this to start working correctly. So I recommend a restart if anyone has this problem.

I believe that Apple are in the process of automatically setting any questions that have not been previously set up by the account owner ... "At this time, the security questions which appear are pre-set by Apple and may not be able to be answered, due to them being automatically issued."
The only way of resetting these is by enquiring (I used expresslane for itunes, i think the same link as above), they will email back (within 24 hours) and ask some questions and when you answer they will reset the security questions. Check your spam folder as my responses were sent to Spam by google.

Building Swing app in Ant

I use IntelliJ as my IDE and when building my swing app through IntelliJ, the application works fine. However when I build it use Ant, I get a NullPointerException in the main thread. Is there anything special that needs to be done for Swing apps when compiling with Ant.

Try using an MVC architecture, where the view is the JTree and the model is the treeModel. Make the treeModel implement Observable , and then use the Observable/Observer mechanism to notify the view of updates. Make sure the updates of the treeModel happen in a separate thread, not in the AWT event thread.

I have a new email address and my old email keeps coming up on icloud when trying to update apps and i don't know the password or security questions for the old email. I can sign in with my apple id which is tied to another email but not itunes how to fix

I have an apple id and it has my current email attached to it. however when i go to update apps it's asking for the password for an old email. I no longer have the old email and can't use it. when I go to icloud on my ipad it asks for the password for old email. it doesn't allow me to change the old email to current. when i go to reset it i can't remember the password or security questions for the old email so it doesn't let me go any further. How do I fix this? Do i need to call apple support?

I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account. I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there. On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back. Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email. The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option?
