Any data source to extract material price or Standard cost history

Hi All,
Currently we are using data source 0CO_PC_ACT_05 for material price extraction.
But it seems this will only extract current period, previous period and previous year last period.
But my requirement is to extract the material price history for any old periods.
Do we have any table from where we can extract this details? or any standard data source through which we can extract this details?

Two are different master info objects and can't get them from one data source.
think about multi provider or info set on two master data objects to club them.
Info object - 0MATERIAL and data source - 0MATERIAL_ATTR
Info object - 0VEDNOR and data source - 0VENDOR_ATTR

How to identify whether any data source is created for a table?

hi all,
How to identify whether any extractions is been carried out for a particular table, view or function module(generic extraction)? from r/3.
bcos i need to create an extraction for a table, view and function module. But iam not sure whether any extractions is already been created for those tables, view, function modules??

By passing the following values as selection to table ROOSOURCE we can find whether any data source has been created or not .
EXMETHOD = V
EXTRACTOR = Table name

Data source and Extract Structure

Hi all,
I have a doubt on Data source and Extract Str,
when i used one info cube with some char and kf's
after i did extraction shall we change the extract strcuture prequently other wise better to use all the predefined extract strcuture hide in data source.
if i hide in datasource after extraction i want to use some of hide fields, so we can use it? if we can use how can we extract data for that specified hide fields to bw side.

If you wont to create the genaric data source at that time
you can create cube with some char and kf.
after extraction you wont to modify the structure ? if you mofify
the structure then replicate the data source and delete the data
and upload the data from r/3 to bw.its not correct way every time modifying the
structure.if you put hide means that fields are not coming to
bw side.if put modify the hide field ,first goto rsa6 edit data source
remove the hide check box and save after come to bw replicate the data source
delete the data and load the data (if you wont full data for hide field)
if you dont load full load means only available upto data only what ever field you modify the
hide to unhide,

Material ledger and standard cost estimate

Hi Gurus,
When standard cost estimate is done in a scenario, where material ledger is activated, does the entire stock get revaluated andl post a credit in my P/L? Is it possible to keep my inventory(FG and SFG) at periodic unit price ie at the actual manufacturing price over a longer period say 3 years? Please fill this gap in my understanding.

Hi Vimal,
Material ledger uses the standard price as 'preliminary price' always during the current month, independent of the question if a new standard price was estimated and released.
But: After period end, when the actual price is calculated the posting will adjust the inventory and P/L accounts to the actual price, with posting date in the recent period.
That means if you have a material that was manufactured once and then consumed over a 3 year period, and during that period you calculate the same material in a standard cost estimate with changing results, that would mean: Looking back at any month during the 3 years the consumption and stock values will be valued at the actual price of manufacturing. But during the currently open period it will always be valuated at the price of the last released cost estimate.
I hope I understood your scenario correct...

No data in R/3 data source after extraction!

Hello All,
i am extracting the data from R/3 source system ( 4.7 ides system).
after succesffully transferring the data source and replicating it to the BW, i had created a infocube and scheduled the info package so that R/3 data source data gets uploaded into the Info cube created.
after scheduling in the header tab of monitor screen i found the error messege as "no data in R/3 data source, check your data source in R/3".
is it that data does not exist in R/3 Business content data source or is that data has not uploaded into BW?
can nay body here thorw some light onto it?

Hi Ravi,
Please check the tables associated with your datasource and look if the data is available inthe respective tables.
You can also check the extracted records in T.code RSA3 in R/3 for your datasource.

SM37 - "pause" V3-update job while importing data source and extract struct

Hi
Insted of deleting an hourly schedulated V3-update job and the recreating it (after a import of a extract structure and a data source) I came to think about whether it is possible to, kind of, pause the job that I otherwise would delete and recreate.
Is this possible some how?
My thought:
1. Find the job in released status.
2. Select the job and change it (top menu Job-->change)
3. Change the scheduling to some day in the future
4. Change job status from released to scheduled
5. Import the extract structure and data source.
6. Change the schedule job back to hourly run.
7. Now the job should run on hourly basis again....
By the way: what do I import first, the data source or the extract structure?

Data source 0CCMS* extraction failed

Dear Expert,
I am trying to extract the following data sources from our ECC6.0 system.
0CCMS_ASR_DATA
0CCMS_DSR_DATA
0CCMS_WEBAS_STATREC_DATA
but the error message "Error 6 in function module RSS_PROGRAM_GENERATE" always come up once the extraction process started.
Please your help on this.

The problem is that this datasource are a kind of exotic
datasource-type. There are Segmented datasources. That is, if you look
at their extract structure e.g. CCMSBI_DSR_EXTSTR the datatype of the
fields cannot be interpreted correctly by RSA3.
You can check them in transaction RSA2 and you will see that
both of them are of Type SEGM, therefore it is not possible to
test them from RSA3.

Volatile raw material price and actual costing

Hello,
We are investigating the use of material ledger / actual costing in SAP. We have multiple production plants and multiple distribution warehouses that would be modeled as a plant.
We are worried that due to the extreme volatility of our raw material prices and the fact that some of our products have low volume or slow turnover in some warehouses, our cost of goods sold in SAP using material ledger / actual costing will be difficult to explain and not reflective of actual conditions.
For example, if a product is placed in Warehouse A in month 1, receives very little new product in months 2-4, and then we sell a lot of that product from warehouse A in month 4, the cost of those goods will be very close to the month 1 cost. We are worried about how that will affect our cost of goods sold.
We would like to hear from other companies that have similar conditions to see if this really causes any problems using actual costing / material ledger.

Thank you for your response. We would like to understand why other companies do not have a problem with this behavior. Our company is concerned that this will reduce visibility of raw material price fluctuations in COGS (and reports that use COGS data), and make it more difficult to explain COGS behavior. Note that we have some reports on COGS data by material.
In our current system, COGS consumes inventory at the average price accross all warehouses.

Update of Price in Material Master when standard costing is released.

Hello SAP gurus,
When we created standard cost estimate, various cost estimate is created in various views Cost of good sold, cost of good manufactured and Inventory ( commercial ). Different view have different cost estimate.
But we I release costing , the material master is updated by cost estimate of Inventory ( commercial). The cost estimate from Cost of good manufactured should be update?
I am not able to solve the above issue , please help with customizing link

Hi Anand,
While you configure the Cost Componenet structure you define the attributes of cost Components in OKTZ.
When defining the cost components, you must specify whether the cost component plays a role in the creation of the different prices that are transferred into the material master record. You have the following options:
Standard price
Costs that are flagged as relevant for stock valuation form part of the standard price if the results of the standard cost estimate are marked and released. These costs also serve as a basis for the following:
The calculation of target costs in variance calculation
The valuation of scrap in variance calculation
The valuation of work in process for the confirmed yield for the operation (order-related production, process manufacturing) or at the reporting point (repetitive manufacturing)
Commercial price
Costs that are flagged as relevant for inventory valulation for the purposes of commercial law form part of the commercial price. This price is calculated in an inventory cost estimate and can be written to the material master record.
Tax price
Costs that are flagged as relevant for inventory valuation for the purposes of tax law form part of the tax price. This price is calculated in an inventory cost estimate and written to the material master record.

Material Ledger - Actual / Standard costing

Hi Experts, we need some help in material price determination with material ledger. Due to local regulations, we need to have our material master with price control determination valued to V in local currency, however, due to IFRS regulations, we need to post the group currency (USD) with standard costing.
We've already configured opposite way (local/group currency with price control S and calculation of actual costing with CKMLCP for previous period) but we need something similar for local currency in V price determination.
Any ideas?

Thanks for your response. Yes, CKMLCP will change the price control to V but we need this price in every operation in local currency (price determination 2). Now, in material ledger, we need to post the standard price (by operation or adjusting with a process at the end of the period). This is the scenario that you are saying but backwards.

Purchase Price Variance (Standard Costing) with Intercompany

We are missing Intercompany transactions in Purchase price variance report. Is there a setup which let's us include these transactions to be captured by PPV report
We do have standard costing in all Organizations

Finally got this answered from Oracle Support below is what they said. Does not make sense but atleast we have an answer
In principle the internal requisition hits the interorg variance account which is defined at the shipping network and is different from purchase price variance(PPV) account of the organization. So this is not included in PPV report. PPV report is only meant for purchase orders.
Best practice would be to define different account for PPV and interorg variance. Use PPV report to match PPV account with GL and use material distribution account detail report for Interorg variance.
If the customer defines PPV and Interorg variance account as the same then the workarounds would be :
1) Use material distribution account detail report.
Or
2) In R12 use SLA account balance reports

Data source not extracting Noted Items

Hi All,
I want to extract records from fbl3n and Noted Items.
I feel 0fi_gl_4 extracts from the same. My issue is it doesnt pick the Noted Items.
I read and came to know Note number 411758 helps to bring this, but our ECC sustem is in 617 component and we are getting
error message as SAP Note 0000411758 cannot be implemented.
Can you help me with New SAP Note or do I require to do any config?
