Any InterConnect white papers..?

Other than the small (and confused) Appendix C in AS Installation Guide, are there any papers discussion different installation "scenarios" for InterConnect?

Pls. take a look at http://otn.oracle.com/tech/integration/content.html or

  • White papers on security benefits of domain vs workgroup?

    Hi,
I"m a big believer of having a domain for businesses once they have 3 or more computers sharing files, and having employees with a medium or high turnover rate.
I have a client with 8 workstations and while I have convinced them to purchase a Windows 2012 R2 Essentials server and add all their machines to a domain, they aren't convinced that the security was worth the expense (Server was under $2000), and all the
workstations already had Pro OS's, so cost was not significant.
Are there any good white papers on how a domain can help protect from various security standpoints?
    Thanks!
    --Kent

    Hi Kent,
AD has many features that IT Administrator might benefit from.
The first ofwhich is Centralized Authentication.  All user accounts are managed in a single location.  This means that you can use your credentials among any of the machines in the environment.
Another item this allows is better security for sharing resources.  Security groups are very useful for targeting access to resources such as file shares.
Group policy allows to you enforce settings across a number of machines or users.  This would allow you to set different policies for users logging into the Terminal servers vs users logging
    into their workstations.
As for the users, I think you can convince them via AD provide the shared resource and Centralized Authentication features.
By the way, if you decide to use Active Directory, I would recommend to order 2 servers, one is primary and another one is as back up.
This ensures that you do not have a single point of failure for your Active Directory Domain.
    Best Regards,
    Elaine

    hello sir

    and why it is used.
how is important for oracle database.
and where i can find white paper.
really sir i don't know about white paper ...
    thanx
    in advance
    waiting for reply

Haven't you seen any xerox machine, in that machine we need to put a bundle of white plain papers in order to get a xerox copy of our stuff :) JUST KIDDING !!
White paper is oracle terminology which means technical articles. It has nothing to do with the operation of datbase, they are just articles talking about different oracle technologies and describing way of implementing them. You can download them from www.oracle.com

  • ZEN 8gb+Any firmware=WHITE SCR

Hey i've been having this problem since i bought this nasty little buggy device. Any **beep** firmware i use on the zen makes the screen go balnk. For example, I have rolled back to the first firmware ever, the .3.4.0, and when i turn it on, voila! WHITE SCREEN. And that has happened with every single firmware. I have had just about enough with this player and with the Creative "customer service" if it is possible to even call it like that.ALL MY LIFE i've been convinced Apple was evil, but im thinking it very thoroughly now. Too many problems with the ZEN ... IT SUX! and so does Creative(except for the sound cards, headphones and speakers) ...but the freakin zen is buggy as hell and they dont fix it.
**The smut filter is there for a reason and not to be bypassed.**

I have owned a ZEN Vision W ( i still have it) and I now have a 6gb ZEN....ummmmm, no "white screen of death"(thats a pretty gay name for that)
BUT! on my Vision W it did have a connection malfunction....so I got it replaced....wow 6 weeks....mine took 2 weeks to get a new one.... yall really got the hellish part of Creative......im so sorry about that.... I do feel your pain?well my ZENs have made me happy...im ok with them?and the white screen mst likely has NOTHING to do with the firmware.....try resetting....try leaving it on till battery dies...try turning it on? and off........try "charging" it or docking it to your comp to put music on it......and if all else fails then......Well I know its a pain to have to reach Customer Service because they do mainly email communication and thats a pain in the ass....but yea.....
this is? a fairly brand new player....it will need to be worked on to fix its flaws..... and like this person said above me........Apple is just for trends....dont let one mishap or bad experience get you down....

  • Looking for white papers or case studies etc

  • White Papers/Literature/Etc. on Books of Business and Workflows

Can anyone point me to where I can do some reading on the feasibility and capability of Books of Business and workflows?

Do you have access to Siebel CRM On Demand? If so you can click on the Training link in the upper right and take the Book of Business and Workflow webinars.

  • Page totals not printing on any pages except the last

How do you get page totals to display one each page and "float" with the output? I created a summary object for the column with reset at page and put it in a frame that is displayed on all pages. There is, of course, a repeating group above it. But the repeating group clobbers the page totals on all except the last page. Shouldn't there be an implicit anchor that prevents this? that's what the Oracle documentation says anyway. This is probably real simple, but I find nothing in any documentation, white papers, or anything.
Will somebody please, please help me?

    Hi,
Step 1: Select the parent frame of the summary column.
Step 2: Open properties of that frame
Step 3: Set the property "Print Object On" to "All Pages" value.
(Default value for this property is "Last Page"

  • V3 Caching - any more info?

    Hi all
I am just getting to grips with v3 and I can’t quite see the benefit of the partial region/page caching function. If it’s only really designed for regions containing static content, then I don’t have much use for it. Also what is the extra performance benefit when much of the static content (images, css, js) is cached on the client anyway.
I would be interested in any Bloggs, White Papers, How-to’s etc that cover this in more detail.
    Thanks
    Simon

    Hi Simon,
    1. It's not really designed for static content. The help files suggest differently! It probably will not have the same performance improvement as for a cached report, chart or a dynamic PL/SQL region. But I think there are still a little performance gain. Why? It doesn't have to look for substitution, doesn't have to merge it with the template, ... If you can cache a hole page which just contains static content like navigation, lists, ... you should also see an improvement, because APEX doesn't have to loop though all it's meta-data to build the page.
But I have to admit that I haven't done a performance test to prove that.
    2. If I set page 0 (or regions on page 0) to cache, will this automatically cache those shared regions on other pages?Yes they will be cached there too.
    3. If I set a page to cache, will the regions cache automatically or are their settings independent. If you set a page to cached, the whole page is in the cache. It will not look at the individual regions anymore if it finds the page in the cache.
    4. If I set a region to cache that contains a paginated report, how does that work? And will it conflict with PPR?Caching for a region is ignored if the REQUEST is set. If you do pagination, you will see that this request is always issued with a request that contains the report region (eg.: pg_R_4177313812138401049)
    5. If you set the application to cache lots of data, by user; and you have a lot of users; is there an impact elsewhere? It depends if you are doing the caching "By User" or "application wide". There are reports available which show you the bytes used by the cached pages/regions => Application Reports/Activity/Cache*
    Hope that clarifies some issues

  • Forms 5.0 to Forms 6.0/6i

Is there any white papers or websites that can give me both a general and detail description of:
    1) What's involved in upgrading from 5.0 to 6.0
    2) A list of features one has over the other
    Thanks

I don't know about any official white papers or websites but I can share my experience with you. Here is what I faced a couple of years back when I migrated from 5.0 to 6.0 -
    1. More new properties added to everything. Some old properties does not exist anymore and due to that scroll bars disappeared or their length was made to zero for multi record blocks, items started showing erratic behaviors until their properties were retouched.
    2. More new built-ins added and some existing ones removed or modified. I was using a lot of winapi related buil-ins and found them totally changed.
    3. Some forms started giving GPFs on starting until the items/triggers were retouched. I found this problem with forms with post-query triggers. The size/datatype of items were modified to fix this problem.
But other than these annoyances, the migration was a grand success and I would recommend you to go for the migration because 6.0 is a far more powerful and stable product than 5.0. Good luck.

  • Error during backup to DVD: Unknown Error when burning to disc (261)

I'm writing on behalf of my brother who has an HP Pavilion ZE2120CA laptop and is using the latest version of iTunes. We were backing up his purchased music onto DVD but just after it says "Burning Disc Initialized" the disc ejects from the drive and it says this cryptic error message. We also tried connecting an external Plextor drive via USB2 - same thing. Any suggestions, white papers or documents out there that'll help us? Also feel free to talk technical to us because I am A+ Certified and while my brother is an English major he also has an intimate knowledge of computers and has several programming courses under his belt.
    Thanks,

Look at some of the other topics. Many of them deal with backup problems since the release of version 7.3. Quite a few of them deal with your situation.
