Any other ways to get a complete restore of the Yoga
I partitioned the Yoga the day that I got it and saved my restore data to an external flash drive. That flash drive got into the hands of one of my kids, who reformatted the drive and removed the restore data.
Is there any way that the community (users, mods, and Lenovo) could provide an image for the whole Lenovo recovery (return to factory default - original partitioning, etc)?
Unfortunately anyone including Lenovco supplying an image through the forum or otherwise through the internet would be illegal, your best bet would be to contact support.

I have bought a WD My Book World Edition to use for back-up of my iMac, but when I try and log onto the drive with Apple time Machine (back-up software) or connect in any other way I get the message 'There was a problem connecting to the server "MybookWorld.local" The version of the server you are trying to connect to is not supported. Please contact your system administrator to resolve the problem'
It is a brand new iMac and running Lion OSX
Any ideas on how to solve would be gratefully received?Followed the directions on this page and it worked!

Part One - Turn on SSH (in the admin panel)
[1] Go to to http://mybookworld.local
[2] login: username will be admin, password will be whatever you have setup. If you can't remember it should be in your Mac OS X keychain (Utilities > Keychain Access, search for "mybookworld"). If you have not changed if from the default the password will be admin as well.
[3] Switch to advanced mode.
[4] From the System tab, pick Advanced.
[5] Enable SSH Access, and click submit.
[6] Click on the network tab and then the LAN button
[7] Make a note of the IP address
Small, maybe obvious, but nevertheless important point: For the install to work, your NAS needs to be connected to a router with internet access.
Part Two - Install netatalk2.2
[8] Open Terminal.app (Utilities > Terminal)
[9] Enter the following command (substitute in 127.0.0.1 for the actual IP address you noted down in step 7), then hit return:

[10] When prompted, enter the ssh password (will be welc0me).
[11] You are now going to download the installer. Enter the following command, then hit return:

[12] Once completed, you will need to run the installer. Type:

[13] You will be asked a number of question during install, answer yes to all. When asked about the "DHX2 login process", I opted to install the modified version, so I can confirm it works.
[14] Once the box has restarted, you should be able to connect to your afp shares and continue to use Time Machine. -
My iPhone's touch screen recently quit working, so I have a new one on the way so I tried to back-up my phone on my laptop and it will not connect. I've tried restarting the Apple Mobile Device services and that didn't work. So I completely unistalled iTunes using Apple's instructions and re-installed it and it still will not connect, and I don't use iCloud because the iPhone is my only Apple device. Is there any other way to get things off of my iPhone or is it all pretty much gone?
You need to get iTunes to recognize it. If your iPhone is working, which it is not, then a new screen would help. But you iPhone is broken beyond just a new screen. Now you can see why iCloud or even an iTunes Back Up is so important. iCloud back up is ideal for you, a one Apple device person, it automatically backs up your iPhone so there is a current back up ready to use anytime, especially in emergency like this. When you get your new iPhone, iPad anything use iCloudl it is free and simple.

is there any other way to get Adobe Captivate specific help? I've posted a question twice with no help, it's very specific, so no one here might actually know the solution. I'm wondering though, since the chat is obviously not for Captivate users with product or service questions.
Is there a tech team I can somehow contact? We really need an answer to the problem.

We publish mp4 training videos as HTML5 content and have the problem that we need to restrict the player to only play/pause.
Adobe Captivate 7 works fantastic for us on almost all devices, many Androids, many browsers, and even on iPad. Captivate, after adding the video as a multi-slide video to one slide and publishing it as HTML5 content, only lets the student play and pause the video - just what we need.
But then we test it on iPhone and the iPhone's internal quicktime player recognizes the mp4 video and kicks in, gives the student all the functions they want, totally overrides the HTML5 published Captivate restricted playback options.
Is there ANY way we can get around that? Any function or box we haven't checked before publishing the HTML5 content?
We would even be happy, if the video wouldn't play on iPhone - just as long as they can't use it to fast forward to the end of the video.
Does anyone here know how to bypass the internal iPhone 5 player?

You are making no sense at all, are you using Lion or Snow Leopard,? did you try BobTheFishermans sugegstion for booting into OSX, please answer the questions rather than your current approach. -
Adobe's website broken - Any other ways to get the serial number?

Now I need to get the serial number from a link which doesn't exist. It says that it is broken.
Is there any other Way to get the Serial Number because without it I can not activate the product.

One tip to get you up and running quickly: You can use Creative Suite before getting your serial number, by selecting the installation option that allows you to install the product as a trial. You can then use the serial number to convert it to the non-trial version later.
Did you purchase your Creative Suite in North America or elsewhere (the correct solution can vary, depending on where you purchased the Creative Suite from).
If you purchased in North America, have a look at the options in the table and choose the link that matches your situation:

If you purchased outside of North America, and from a reseller, the website is down and I apologize for that. This is known and Adobe is working on a fix.

You've checked the spam folder on your rescue email account as well as the inbox, and you've tried clicking the reset link a second time ? If you have, and you still haven't received the email, then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

In SDN, i find the below two ways to extract the URL parameters, when i pass them while opening a new window. But, unfortunately they dont work for me. so, would like to know, if any other ways are existing to extract the URL parameters.
1)
HANDLEDEFAULT method of the window:

2) In HANDLEDEFAULT method, have the URL parameter names as importing parameters and use them normally.

How you are trying to pass your parameters ? I believe you are using some SAP provided template (like for XSS) and relying on passing of some standard parameters. These parameters may be absorbed by the standard component and may not be passed to your WebDynpro Component. You can try passing them as application parameters.

I am away from home on holiday and all my contacts on my iPad have disappeared. I have tried a hard reset but they have gone. Is there anything else that can be done other than waiting until I get home to my main pc?
Upon purchase of my iPad 2 I began saving contacts to my IPad Contacts application that is already set up upon purchase of iPad 2. I then learnt about synching ( push ) my Gmail contacts to the Ipad 2 contacts 'exchange'. I did this happily and was very pleased with the results however when synching the first time I chose not to delete my iPad 2 contacts I had began saving upon purchase. This meant upon opening 'contacts' I had three choices 'iPad contacts', 'Exchange contacts' or 'All contacts'. There is no way to save ipad contacts directly to the 'Exchange contacts' it has to be saved into a file or vcard and then imported in using e-mail or a PC.
A few days in to using push/exchange I also added calendar and notes to the push/exchange as I was happy with the contacts and e-mail. I did notice some glitches since doing using push/exchange although I think it began when initially I began pushing contacts/mail there may be a slight chance that it began when I turned on calendar and notes facility to the push/exchange. The glitches that began meant sudden blinking during or after saving in calendar, contacts and notes. Sometimes this would mean the item added was there but also sometimes it would mean that it was not. Also double entries began arriving on both m iPad and in my Gmail Contacts online. These were a mix of contacts that I had and had not not created or edited since acquiring my iPad 2 so the was no pattern or obvious reason. They were all also a mix of contacts from different groups saved in my Gmail contacts.
Today suddenly whilst adding a contact the contacts blinked shut again. I re-opened to see what had happened wondering if my contact had been saved or not however not only did what I add not get saved but all approx 500 contacts from both my iPad contacts and my Exchange Contacts vanished from my iPad 2. I opened and closed the contacts to see if they would return but there was nothing. I also hibernated and then later shut down and restarted the iPad many times to no avail. I checked my Gmail Contacts account and thankfully all my contacts were still there. However, it was still extremely frustrating to have everything vanish from my iPad and then not just come back from there especially as he e-mails and calendar seemed to be still working fine with Exhange/push. Also, why had the contacts saved to the IPad contacts directly vanished also ?!! For a £800 gadget not including accessories it really is unacceptable !!!
Finally what worked for me was going to 'Settings', then going to 'mail,contacts,calendars' and then selecting the 'exchange' account and then switching 'contacts' to 'off', then I selected 'delete' iPad contacts i.e delete the contacts saved in the iPad contacts group however with nothing there to lose this time and having a feeling that perhaps that may have contributed to the issues/glitches and this contacts vanishing I clicked on the 'delete'. I really do have a feeling that perhaps the issues may have been due to having two sets of contacts even though there were only a few there in the iPad before they vanished along with the Exchange contacts. I clicked 'done' and then I didn't hibernate the iPad 2 instead I shut it completely down.
Upon restarting my iPad 2 I went to see if the contacts had returned but unfortunately once again they had not. I returned to 'settings', then 'mail,contacts,calendars' and then selected 'exchange' from accounts and switched 'contacts' back on i.e enabled this once again and clicked done. I then once again switched off ( shut down ) my iPad 2 and waited a while. Upon restarting I again went back to contacts and found some of my contacts finally arrive but not all. My 'push/'fetch' for exchange is set to every 15 minutes and every push/fetch showed me more and more contacts until finally I had all but one which has still not showed up ! However, I am once again happy and this time I only have one contacts group I.e for exchange and no separate iPad contacts to confuse me or iPad. I don't know if this will mean all will be okay now as I do feel like perhaps I cannot now trust iPad contacts and maybe need to print out everything and keep this on me also just in case. I'll keep you posted ! -
Any other Ways to Getting into the Developer Program
So, I signed my company up for the developer program a few days after the original announcement. We're still not in. This has moved from an annoyance during the development process to crisis (our iPhone Apps are add ons to our web apps and we are being yelled at by our customers for not delivering them).
So this is my question, those who were on the waiting list for a long time then got in. What worked? I'm certainly not opposed to paying 20K for some equipment I don't need if that solves the problem.Ok, so just a bit of followup for others that might be in this situation. Once I waited on hold for another 40 minutes, when I finally spoke to someone, they were able to let me in the program in a matter of a couple minutes (no there wasn't any issues with my application).
So it seems that at the moment Apple is prioritizing by anger level. So, don't be like me and send a few polite e-mails or patiently wait for months. Get on the phone and scream at the top of your lungs (even if your not that angry), it is the only thing they seem to understand. -

Leopard Updates Seem Ridiculously Large ... Any Other Way Of Getting Them?
Since getting my new iMac with Leopard 10.5.2 I have not updated simply because the files are so large.
600 MB seems excessive.
My problem is that I have a basic speed broadband and such a file would take 2 - 3 hours to download.
Couple that with the fact that I tend to lose my internet connection briefly several times a day.
I am worried that I might spend an hour or two downloading, only to lose my connection and ruin the whole download.
Or is there something built into the download that would enable me to start where it left off ?
This certainly isn't the case for UPLOADS as frequently when uploading videos I have lost the connection on ones above 20 MB and had to start all over again.
Finally, after reading some of the problems people are having with updates, maybe it is a blessing in disguise that I am hesitant!Hi Ian, you should update as there are important security fixes in the updates. You've been around here long enough to know that mostly folks with problems visit here and they are a tiny percentage of users.
Use the 10.5.5 Combo Update this contains most of what you are missing. If it is too long a download for you go to a friend or an Apple Store and bring a blank CD/DVD to copy to.
Remember to Verify Disk before update and repair permissions after update from /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.
