Any samples for using JMX for displaying cluster statistics 3.6 ?

Hi,
Our Coherence 3.6 cluster is configured in the WLS domain and controlled using WLS node manager. This is all working well. We have created a WLS console extension to show the actual live cluster topology (rather than the configured topology) so we can ensure all the domains are configured correctly and there are no nodes in the cluster that there should not be (we have many domains/environments).
I can show basic cluster statistics and show the members etc using the CacheFactory. But for each cluster member I would like to show if it is storage enabled and free memory and other statistics. I was expecting to get that from the Member or Cluster objects returned from the CacheFactory methods but it seems not. It seems that JMX is the way to go. Does anyone have any sample JMX code they might share that would connect to the cluster and retrieve stats and info that is not available from the CacheFactory api ?.
TIA
Martin

Hi Revanth,
The issue seems to be with the JMX URL value defined in the 'server URL' property.
Apparently I ran into the same issue as I was unable to access the Admin Server URL from the SMA.
Changing the Host and Port value properly resolved the issue for me.

  • Any info on using Veritas for offline Portal Cluster backup

Anyone have detailed info on how to correctly use VERITAS to backup a PORTAL CLUSTER with ORACLE FAILSAFE on WIN32?
Oh.. well..  INcorrectly ways will suffice as well.

    Jerry,
I have had some exposure to Sun Fire servers running Oracle. The disk was made highly available using the Veritas database cluster software. Both servers share the database files stored on a storage array network. Also Volume Replicator is available via Veritas/Symantec.
    You can check the other compatible HA software on;

  • License for using JMX Remote API  Reference Implementation

Is JMX Remote API Reference Implementation open source one?
Can we use JMX Remote API Reference Implementation with commercial products?

    Hi,
    I am not a lawyer.
If you're referring to the JMX RI binary downloads available from here:
    http://java.sun.com/javase/technologies/core/mntr-mgmt/javamanagement/download.jsp
then please click on the download button and then review the license agreement.
You will see that this is not the GPL license.
As such these downloads are not "open source".
However the JMX API is also part of the OpenJDK project - and the OpenJDK project
itself is open source. The OpenJDK project has a NetBeans IDE JMX project that will
let you easily work with the JMX sources.
    See http://openjdk.java.net/groups/jmx/ for more details.
You can review the OpenJDK license agreement and download the OpenJDK sources
    from http://openjdk.java.net/
The OpenDMK Project contains an open source implementation of the JMXMP
connector for the JMX API - which is the optional JMX connector defined in the
JMX Remote API 1.0 specification. The JMXMP connector is not part of the OpenJDK
project, but is open sourced by the OpenDMK project.
You can review the OpenDMK license agreement and download the sources and
binaries of the OpenDMK project from here:
    http://opendmk.dev.java.net/
For an exact description of what you can or can't do with any of these various sources
and binaries, please read the license agreements that come with each of them.
    I hope this helps,

  • Can I hook up my Dell Latitude for using iMac as display?

the Dell has VGA & HDMI so I wonder if it will work using a Moshi Mini DisplayPort to HDMI-adapter or similar?

If I understood you, you want to use your iMac as a display for the Dell Latitude.
See > http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11302 27-inch iMacs and iMacs with Thunderbolt ports can be used as a display, and Apple says that this feature works only for other Macs.
That's not exact and that's not the truth because an iMac can be used as a display for PCs, but the PC must have a DisplayPort or a Thunderbolt port. If your PC hasn't got DisplayPort, you can't use the iMac as a display

    Hi Alfred,
Converting a Lightweight Access Point Back to Autonomous Mode
You can convert an access point from lightweight mode back to autonomous mode by loading a Cisco IOS Release that supports autonomous mode (Cisco IOS release 12.3(7)JA or earlier). If the access point is associated to a controller, you can use the controller to load the Cisco IOS release. If the access point is not associated to a controller, you can load the Cisco IOS release using TFTP.
Using a TFTP Server to Return to a Previous Release
Note This section does not apply to Cisco C3201WMIC and Cisco C3201LAP.
Follow these steps to revert from LWAPP mode to autonomous mode by loading a Cisco IOS release using a TFTP server:
Step 1 The static IP address of the PC on which your TFTP server software runs should be between 10.0.0.2 and 10.0.0.30.
Step 2 Make sure that the PC contains the access point image file (such as c1200-k9w7-tar.122-15.JA.tar for a 1200 series access point) in the TFTP server folder and that the TFTP server is activated.
Step 3 On the PC where the TFTP server is located, perform these steps:
    a. Disable any software firewall products, such as Windows firewall, ZoneAlarm firewall, McAffee firewall, or others.
    b. Ensure all Windows files are visible. From Windows Explorer, click Tools > Folder Options > View > Show hidden files and folders.
Step 4 Rename the access point image file in the TFTP server folder to c1200-k9w7-tar.default for a 1200 series access point, c1130-k9w7-tar.default for an 1130 series access point, c1240-k9w7-tar.default for a 1240 series access point, and c1250-k9w7-tar.default for a 1250 series access point.
Step 5 Connect the PC to the access point using a Category 5 (CAT5) Ethernet cable.
Step 6 Disconnect power from the access point.
Step 7 Press and hold MODE while you reconnect power to the access point.
Step 8 Hold the MODE button until the status LED turns red (approximately 20 to 30 seconds) and then release.
Step 9 Wait until the access point reboots, as indicated by all LEDs turning green followed by the Status LED blinking green.
Step 10 After the access point reboots, reconfigure it using the GUI or the CLI.

  • What is the best tablet for using photoshop for professional editing??

Okay, I know Apple and their ipads are popular.  But popularity is not what I'm looking for.  I'm looking for compatibility, between photoshop and the tablet itself.  I want to get over using the mouse for everything.  I'm not quite sure if apple is the best choice.  Or is it?
I'm very new to all this tablet stuff. lol  Please advise
Oh my goodness.  Is the Ipad not advanced enough for a full blown photoshop program?! I geuss I overestimated them. Goodness.  It really is just a on the go kind of thing?....  Again. I'm new to this whole tablet thing.  So if you guys know anything. Please advise lol.  I'm a complete Newbie.

Windiv, 'Tablet' - the generic term is used differently for each context. iPad is a generic tablet. While for Photoshop editing, you need a tablet such as Wacom Intuos - they're 'design tablets' in specific. They have 'full-blown' capabilities with Photoshop and majority of other Professional Graphic softwares.

  • Which imacs and apple displays connect to late 2008 aluminum macbook 13 inch for use as external display?

I have a late 2008 13 inch aluminum macbook and want to purchase an iMac computer or apple display to use as an external display for it while I'm at my desk.
I can afford up to $700 for sure, maybe up to $1000 and would like one that has built in camera and audio if possible.
I'd like to know what my options are as it seems not all are compatible.
I'll mostly be doing web browsing and photo editing in Aperture.
Also wondering if it's possible to sync 2 computers so that when you make changes on one it reflects the changes in the other. Like you can with certain apps like Evernote.
    Thank you for your help!
    Cybrena

Yes he is right, Snow Leopard is your first step.  Once you have that you can upgrade directly to Mountain Lion if memory serves me correct.  Some people were saying that Lion was a little sluggish with the aluminum MacBook but that Mountain Lion was great.  Personally I had Lion on it also and didn't think it ran badly.  10.6 was still with Rosetta (the program that ran power pc apps) but this is dropped on 10.7 and up.  Up until just the other day I still had the stock 2 gb of ram.  The firmware update happens with Snow Leopard and up so it should come up as a software update.  If not, it can be done manually as well.  The ram I purchased was 60 bucks for the 8 gb.  For Lion and Mountain Lion I have to agree with the above reply, that it would run alot better with at least 4 gb.  If you run that many apps at once then you are going to want as much ram as you can get.  If you add a solid state drive you will be amazed at the difference it will make too.

  • Any examples of using XSU for multi level nesting

Are there any examples of inserting into a set of object tables using the XSU where the parent-child relationship is more than 2 levels deep. i.e where you have to use REF's or views to do this.
I have had no problems with a 2 level insert using object tables but that's not much use to me.
I know that natively only 2 levels of nesting are supported.
I may have to resort to parsing the data manually using the PL/SQL parser if I can't get the XSU to do it.

My customer's solution has several issues generating PDF files and we are looking at the Acrobat SDK as at the instance of the final truth.
I use Interop.Acrobat.dll as a .NET project reference to open and resave PDF documents. I'd like to do all things I mentioned above.
After years and years, I have concluded that if you do serious PDF development, you need a set of libraries. For instance, if you are doing typesetting type of work ("vertical center", "horizontal center", "margin", etc., etc) , there is an excellent library from a guy in Germany (land of Johannes Gutenberg and printing presses)...
... which turned out to be useless in my next project which dealt with AcroForms.
I know exactly what you mean by "the final truth", sometimes I wish Adobe had some sort of official validating tool (like XML does).
Per your comments, I would recommend you to consider this library. It is available in all languages and its output is the same quality as Adobe's or at least in the same league:

  • Any way to use connection for Ethernet if wifi not available?

Going to place where there is only wired connection. Is there any way I can connect to Internet from my iPad?

I use a Virgin mobile MiFi which allows upto 5 wireless connections which is basically a Sprint data access for no contract $50.00 /month fee unlimited, lower prices for limited duration/packet charges.
A major decision when purchasing iPad mini WiFi-only vs Cell enable locked to AT&T (yes I know, but have an iPhone already with them).

  • Any way to use merge for mutliple tables w/ shared PK?

If you have multiple tables who share the same PK (or I should say the main table has a certain valye used as Primary Key and then multiple child tables use that PK as a foreign key), would merge be able to work for you?
in my case I have one source table, which is loaded by flat file and represents a flattened record of what would in my database be separated into multiple tables.
I need to update records from that source table where they exist (based on join of non-PK columns) and then insert where they do not exist. So I thought I could utilize the nifty merge command.
However I am quickly realizing this is not a standard use of merge which seems to be designed for going from one source table to one target tables which are roughly equivalent. But in my case I have one source table which has pieces going into table A, other pieces table B, etc... and all those tables share an ID.
So when I first merge into the main table I use a sequence to generate it's PK. But then the problem becomes, how do I then have this same PK used as the value for the FK in the inserts done by the following merge commands for this child tables?

I could better understand what you have & what you desire if you post DDL for all tables
& then you explain what is desired using actual table & column names.
Simply put, I would not recognize any post SQL as being correct, since I do not understand the desired goal/results
