Any Visual Studio template to achieve the below

Hi,
I needs to crerate a simple project which can
1. request User login page
2. display a SQL database table with field and user can enter the new value on some text box to update the table field value
Please advise any sample template to achive 1 and 2 so I can modify a bit to come up a solution.. Thanks in advance

Please try deleting the following sub folder to see if this will work:
C:\users\(my profile)\AppData\Local\Microsoft_Corporation
If you can't see AppData folder, you could use following steps to show hidden files:
1. Open an explorer window, hit "ALT-T" choose Folder Options then go to the view tab.
2. Turn on Show hidden files, folders or drives and
disable Hide protected Operating System files (recommended).

Visual Studio 2013 deploying incorrectly the content types of a document library

Hello everyone.
I created a SharePoint farm solution in VS 2013. I add four content types (say, C1, C2, C3, C4, based on the Document content type) and I create a couple of document libraries (say, L1, L2). Now I add C1 and C2 to L1, and add C3 and C4 to L2.
When I deploy the solution from VS, I go to the site and found out that L1 has C1 and C2, as expected. However, L2 has C1 and C2 instead of C3 and C4.
I have reviewed for hours the xml files (Elements, Schema, etc.) and all IDs seem to be correct and all properties are in order.
Has anyone come across a problem like this? Any thoughts will be really appreciated, as I'm clueless and frustrated at this point, after hours of dealing with this problem.

No, I don't add them programmatically, I added the "Content Type" and "List" items to the VS solution. It generated some files, including Elements.xml and Schema.xml. Then I used the integrated VS designers to add the content types to
the list. A very run-of-the-mill solution, I think, nothing too fancy.
One thing I noticed is that I created a feature, and everytime I add a new list, instead of using the existing feature, it creates a new one, which I delete, and then add the list to the existing feature using the designer.
Finally, something weird happened today. I opened my VS, opened the solution and there was several feature files created out of the blue by the VS. I thought something was messed up with the Visual Studio Online connection, but it happens anyway when working
in disconnected mode.

Unsupported: This version of Visual Studio does not have the project types

I recently created a new virtual machine with the exact same step-up as my previous virtual machine. When I open my .sln files i get the following message:

Based on the message, the VS Pro 2012 on your new VM does not support that project type. So what type of Visual C# project is the WriteToJS project? Which edition of Visual Studio did you create this project from? What .net framework is this project targeted?
Please make sure this VS supports such project in order to work with this project fine in VS Pro 2012.
I recommend that you check whether the same project template exists from File->New->Project->Visual C# in VS2012 Professional with Update 4 on the new VM. If the same project template exists, please create a new project to check whether the template

Using MS Visual Studio C++ 2008 Express, the "LoadLibrary" function doesn't recognize the NI-VISA DLL: "visa32.dll". I've included all the paths to the DLL. Is there a problem with this C++ compiler?

I'm using MS Visual Studio C++ 2008 Express. I've included all the paths to the DLL, "visa32.dll" but the LoadLibrary("visa32.dll") call returns the statement that can't convert character string to LPCSTR (pointer). I ran the same code with the Portland Group compiler (which I no longer have) and there was not a problem accessing the DLL. Is there some requirement for the C++ 2008 Express compiler that needs to be met?

If you compile as Unicode you need to pass Unicode strings to
Win32 APIs which have LPTSTR or LPWSTR string.
When you want to write code compilable for Unicode
and Ansi just enclose all string constants in _T(). In your case:
LoadLibrary(_T("visa32.dll"))

I have loaded firefox 7 - deleted all other versions of firefox - each time I start firefox there is an error unhandled win32 exception -- [5500] operating system is xp sp3 this loads visual studio debugger firefox loads the closes

Thats pretty much it - installed 7 yesterday because I was having the same problem with 6- beta I figured it was the beta so I uninstalled all firefox versions and downloaded the release version 7. Apparently Visual Studios sees the error and wants to help. Then I crash

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

We nee to generate a table which need to have only single Legacy_number in output table and z_inscope, z_sold_to, z_ship_to,z_invoice_to have to check their values in source table and replaced their columns with the following priority order Y,y,N,n in Output table.
for explanation see below example.
1. for 345 Legacy number we have y & n for z_sold_to column. In output table that column need to be replaced with y as y priority is higher than n.
2. for 456 Legacy number we have n & y & n for z_ship_to column. In output table that column need to be replaced with y as y priority is higher than n.

This is possible using lots of various techniques. You allude to a technique in your question - priority.
For each z column (I hate adding a z - is this from ECC?!), add a new column via a query and assign a priority to each value. In a second query get the max priority for each column for the key (this will return only 1 row per key), then convert the priority back to the actual value.

I have an application that is done using SSRS on visual studio and it connects to the report server on SQL server 2008 environment.
I've been changing the existing reports using visual studio 2008 and modifying the reports on the report server. How do I add a new report to the application ? I created a new report and deployed it on the report server but it didn't show up in the application.

I have a question. This application retrieves SSRS reports from the report sever. When I download the reports
from the SQL Server I can open them in visual studio 2008 but they don't open in visual studio 2010. I can access the application files on visual studio 2010 and team foundation server 2010. I was unable to open team foundation server 2008 on visual studio
2008. The issue is that I am unable to add a report with a new name to the application. I use visual studio 2008 to deploy the reports on the report server but it has to be the same name to be able to run the report from the application. I can deploy any report
on the report server but I can't access it from the application unless it has to be the same name as the present reports. If I keep the report the same name then it will replace the old report and the new report will run from the application. But only if it's
the same name. I guess when I add a new report to the application with a new name I am supposed to add a definition in the application C sharp files on visual studio 2010 so that the new report will show in the application. What's your opinion
? I have attached 2 images of the application and team foundation server 2010 and the report server.

How do you retrieve the list of intellisense completions created by Visual Studio

I have a Visual Studio extension that provides statement completion (Intellisense). I build a series of Completions that are then provided to the customer. However, in my list of completions I would like to provide all variables of a certain type. In the
default (All) intellisense list provided by Visual Studio, a user has access to all the completions representing these variables that are available in the editor.
Is there any sort of interface or method to retrieve this information so I can provide a merged list of Completions in my StatementCompletion list? I would like to avoid needing to scrape the text of the file currently being edited as Visual Studio has already
done the work for me and has a better sense of what is available based on the language currently being edited.

Thank you for the response. Based on what I read in the StackOverflow posts, it looks like there is no formal interface to retrieve information about variables and other Completions built by Visual Studio. Is there a place I can log a feature request for
the Visual Studio SDK? I think this sort of interface would add a lot of value for customers attempting to append the existing intellisense features of Visual Studio.

The Application Data folder for Visual Studio could not be created

Hi! My laptop was working fine but someone recently installed Malware Bytes to my laptop and supposedly found 4 problems and "fixed" them afterwards Visual Studio Professional 2013 and Chrome stopped launching. When I realized this happened I uninstalled
Malwarebytes but it was too late. Every time I tried launching Visual Studio I would get a message that said something like: "Two or more components could not be found. Please reinstall". I did a "fix" on Visual Studio but this solved nothing
only changed the message, the new message was "The Application Data folder for Visual Studio could not be created" so I uninstalled the program and all the extras I found on my Control Panel. Downloaded Visual Studio Community 2013 I'm trying to
install it but I got the same exact message again. Why is this happening? What does it mean? Before I uninstalled Visual Studio Professional 2013 I looked for ways others solved it but nothing seemed to work. Please help. Thanks!

The Malware Bytes may have already modified some files/registry values/environment variable which is used by Visual Studio and may be the setup cannot create it for you again.
Please try the workaround here in this blog:http://tutewall.com/application-data-folder-for-visual-studio-could-not-be-created/ and remember to backup your
registry key before you do any actions to the registry table.

C# Templates for Visual studio

Im told I should be able to load the C# templates in Visual studio, but I dont see them listed and trying to find them "online" doesn't get me what im looking for. Just starting to program in C# so all I really want to do is start creating some
test programs and learn.
Does anybody know how I can get these templetes so I can start programming in C#?

To use C# templates, please ensure that you have installed the full version of visual studio rather than visual studio shell which is included in SQL Server installation.
However, if C# templates is missing from full version of visual studio, you can type devenv /installvstemplates from visual studio command prompt to get missing templates or repair Visual Studio installation to solve the issue. Please check the following

How are you assigning the value to variable @VATSchemaType? Are you assigning multiple values? if yes, then you need to better join with the values by splitting the values.
