Any way to sync pics to the camera Roll after restoring?

Is there any way at all to put pics I took with my camera and saved from online back into my camera roll to where I can delete pics on the phone?
Im gonna restore my phone and I copied all of my pics to a folder on my desktop, because I know the restore will delete them if I dont, after I restore I know in order to get those pics back on my phone, I have to sync the picture folder to the phone... But I wont be able to actually delete them and stuff like usual when you have them in your camera roll. Is there anyway?
I dont want to have to delete the pics from the folder and sync it everytime just to delete the pics..

I copied them, I just wanted to know if that was possible because itd be stupid to have to get on my computer, delete the photo I want, and sync it, every time I want to delete one.
I also was told before that I could use an app to email all the pics to myself and save them manually through my phone, but I have over 600 photos on the phone.

Lost pics from the camera roll

I recently had my iphone screen repaired, and when I got it back it was perfectly fine, although all the camera roll pics where gone!!, I had over 1,000 pics there, then I realized that the storage capacity did not change, the camera roll still used 14 GB, and in Itunes the "others" components incuded this 14 GB. Long story short I downloaded a program called Dr fone which after analizing my Iphone found all of my pics, but I have to buy the program license so I can restore my pics, is there any other way to restore my pics from "Other" to my camera roll?? Pleas help!!

If you use Photo Stream (Settings > Photos & Camera > My Photo Stream = "On"), then most if not all your photos are there (in the cloud).

Does any1 hav issues with not being able to send pic from the camera roll. I've already had issues with over exposure that the new update fixed but it left me with this issue.

Since getting my iPhone 5 I've had camera issues. To start with it was over exposure, the camera was flashing too early and leaving me with dark pictures. After a failed reset I visited the apple store, where they told me it was a known problem and apple were working on a update to fix the issue and it was just a
waiting game. Once the update was available I did it immediately and the problem seemed to be fixed. I've now noticed that from the camera roll I carnt send a picture to mms. It gives me the option but the screen completely freezes after I've chosen it. The only way to access my camera roll again is to completely close the camera roll down and reopen it. The strange thing it it will let me send it as an email and upload taught to Facebook etc just not as an mms. The other strange thing is if I go to msgs and add a photo I'm successful but if I try to edit the photo I want to send 1st then I get the same issue as the camera roll. I also have issues with the shutter taking ages to open. Is anyone else havin these issue before I go back to the apple shop. A complete reset hasn't worked

Photo Stream only handles images and your videos are not uploaded or shared with other devices.
Use iPhoto to import from your device. It can bring in the videos and image files.

Transferring pictures to the camera roll to restore it on the "places" app.

I really love the "Places" app on the iphone whre all my pictures get automatically sorted to where the picture was taken. Unfortunately, I transferred some of my holiday pictures to my laptop and the pictures were removed from from the camera roll. Is there any possible way to transfer the picture that I transferred to my laptop back to my camera roll? This is just so I can get the picture back on the "Places" tab. The pictures were originally taken by my iphone. Or is there any other alternatives?

One of the drawbacks to PhotoStream... You can delete all photos or none of them. I think the idea is you just leave them in there for the full 30 days and don't worry about trying to manage them. I've heard that they don't count towards your 5 GB of storage, but have not personally confirmed that. (I don't take photos with my iPad, and don't keep wifi on on my iPhone, so PhotoStream isn't much use to me.)

When you use icloud to back up your iPhone does it delete the camera roll after 30 days or just the photo stream?

I have my phone backed up to icloud but for unnamed reasons I cannot restore from icloud back up at the moment. I'm worried about my pictures. Will the back up of the camera roll delete after 30 days or is that just the photo stream?

Keep in mind, pictures showing in PhotoStream does not mean they will be there when a new device is added, only that they have been downloaded by the device they are displaying on.
In other words, if a new iDevice is added to the account, it will only download the last 1,000 pictures taken in the last 30 days, not every picture showing on other iDevices in PhotoStream.

Lost photos / camera roll after restore and update.

As the title says , I recently had to restore my iphone 3gs due to having problems with MAIL (problem fixed now.) but after doing a full backup and restore on the phone and update to the iOS 4 ( i think>) , I lost all of the photos that I had in the camera roll album folder , now I have loads of photos there that I do not want to loose ! I know there should be a way of getting them back from the backup but how ? Plus to prove even more that they are still there somwhere , when I connect it to the iTunes on my PC (Windows Vista) , under the yellow section bar it shows there are 315 (1.26 gb) photos on my device...but when I disconnect it and go into the album , there are 0 ! Now I have been reading about this online and people say that you basically take the images off your pc and sync them back onto the phone...but I havent got them saved on my pc anywhere...so where are they? PLEASE HELP me out on this one ,

The only place they may be is in a previous backup from before the restore. No Apple tool that I know of accesses these files within the backup file. There are reportedly some 3rd party tools that can get to the photos imbeded in the backup. The other option is to restore the old backup and then import the camera roll via iphoto or some other tool.
If you have no copy of the old backup, I think you are out of luck.
As you know by now, the iPhone's camera roll is treated as a digital camera, not as part of the sync.
For the second post, if you'd like Apple to add the import to the sync process, you can request that via the www.apple.com/feedback web site.

I Tunes has lost a large proportion of my music library. The music in question is however still on my IPod. Is there any way to sync backwards so the IPod updates ITunes? Or is there any other way I can try to recover the lost music files?

Whatever, the music is still on my IPod. Is there anyway files on an Ipod can be transferred back into ITunes? Or is there any other way I can try to recover my music files? Also, I no longer have any confidence in ITunes ability to store data efficiently and wonder if there is any way I can back up my IPod outside ITunes?

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself independently backed up against loss. To use a device with a new computer you transfer the content from the old computer (or its backup) directly to the new computer, not the device to the new computer. Media syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.

What happened to my pics in the camera roll (4s)???

Pictures taken today are showing up normal and clear as a group under camera roll. But they are fuzzy and unclear when each picture is clicked on individually. Some pictures are even "hidden" under older pictures and are only "uncovered" when I click on the "edit" button to edit the picture. When I click on the "edit" button, the older picture disappears and the correct newer pic (taken today) shows up normal and clear. For fear of losing the pics, I tried to sync my phone to iTunes and iPhoto, but the sync can not see any pics on my phone (but there is nearly 600 in there). I have tried to delete new apps and have shut down and restarted multiple times with no help. Has anyone encountered this same problem? Any advice out there for me? I'm just afraid to lose so many pictures! Thank you...

Hoping someone can help!! Not a very technical person so would appreciate any advice.
I plugged my phone (iPhone 4) in to my laptop and it must have started to update to new software, anyway now iTunes doesn't recognise my phone and is telling me it is in recovery mode and needs to be restored but doing this I would lose my photos I think.
The photos I need to retrieve are only a few days old but I didn't put them on my laptop. Not sure about a backup I haven't done one but does this happen automatically when syncing and how do I find out what which photos are there?

The update can not start by itself. It requires manual intervention.
If the phone is in recovery mode, there is nothing left on it. If you didn't have your photos backed up or synced to PhotoStream, they are gone.

Is there a way to move the pictures completely from the camera roll to an album so the pic is not in two places?

I was wondering if there was a way to move pics completely from camera roll to another album thus emptying the camera roll that way you know what pics you still need to put in albums.

Unfortunately I don't think there's anything you can do to alter the Dock's behavior. I suppose you could disable the Dock and use a third-party replacement - VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

Try turning off the Camera Roll option in Settings>iCloud>Backup & Storage>Manage Storage>Your device. Then turn it back on again.

Before doing so, I did not copy the pics on the photo stream of my iPad to the album and now the only pics being synce with my iPad are new pics either saved or taken on phone. Old pics are still on phone. There has to be a way to get these pics to be able to stream them on to iPad, right?

You have a couple of options to get them in your photo stream:
Open the photos one at a time and take a screenshot. This will add a new low resolution copy of the photo to the camera roll, which will then upload to your photo stream;
Email the photos a few at a time to yourself, then save the attached photos to your camera roll. This will add a copy of the photo at full resolution to your camera roll and upload to photo stream;
Use an app like PhotoSync, which will allow you to wirelessly transfer copies of all your old photos to your computer all at once. Then delete these photos from your camera roll and use PhotoSync to transfer them back from your computer to your camera roll. These will be the original resolution and will upload to your photo stream. (You need an app like this because iTunes will not transfer photos back to your camera roll, where they must be in order to add to your photo stream.)
Or, you can add them to a shared stream and invite yourself as a subscriber (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmc0cd7e99). The shared stream will appear on your iPad and you can either leave things this way, or save them to the camera roll on your iPad and delete the shared stream. They won't be in your photo stream but they will at least be on your iPad.

PC crashes when I connect my iPhone while it has pics in the cameral roll

Whenever I connect the iPhone to the PC while there are pics in the camera roll, the PC crashes with a blue screen. I can simply just delete the pics but I really don't want to not be able to have pics on my iPhone.
Any help?

I had the same problem as this and couldn't work out what it was! After reading on this feed and finding out this happened because of Logitech camera it only comfused me more as I didn't think I had one!
After looking on the net a little more I found out that my built in web cam was a Logitech.
So after reading I needed to update the drivers for this I went on the Acer website and found only update drivers for Vista OS, I am running XP! Away I downloaded the vista drivers and now the camera on my iPhone is working great and doesn't crash my laptop.
So thanks veryone for your help and hope that this helps others with the same problem... there is nothing worse than having something new that doesn't do what it says on the tin!
