Anybody having issues changing their wallpaper ?, Anybody having issues changing their wallpaper on osx mountain lion ?

I updated to lion the second day it was available and changed my wallpaper and know I can't change anyone know what to do about this ?

I am stuck with the same issue.... I've read some forum posts on the subject but haven't found a definitive solution yet...
Very strange all i did was change the wall paper once.
When I select a new wallpaper the desktop doesn;t change but in mission control I can see the correct picture in the background!?
If anyone finds anything I would also love to hear about it.
thanks
After some further reading....
It was Path Finder getting in the way. Exiting and rebooting fixed the issue...

No one knows for sure as yet. This is the information Apple has provided to date:

    Anything else is a guess.

Did you buy your machine second-hand? That's really the only way you would have to purchase OS X 10.8.x from the App Store... but, yes, if you have a USB thumb drive with a bootable installer (such as made with Lion DiskMaker) you can boot from that and reinstall OS X.

what if i loaded osx mountain lion without having upgraded to osx snow leopard

I don't believe ML will upgrade on top of anything earlier then SL.  You might have to do a clean install.

  • Possible OSX Mountain Lion issue

I just installed OSX Mountain Lion two days ago. Today, it took my Macbook 10 minutes to boot up. Anyone else seen this?
    paige

Is this a constant issue when you turn your machine on or is it totally random?
Your profile shows you have a MacBook. Click on the Apple Logo on the top left corner of your screen and go to "About This Mac" What are the specs (processor and memory) you see there?
Click on "More Info" and go to the "Storage" tab at the top. How much free space do you have?
All in all it comes down to 1.) How much RAM or memory you have installed and 2.) If you have enough free space on your hard drive for the machine to run properly.
Once your device turns on try opening up Activity Monitor. You can Spot Light search this or get it from your utility folder in Applications. Sort the CPU % and see what is taking up the most of your CPU at the start.

  • Having Trouble in OSX Mountain Lion, Address Book crashes when editing?

When I try to edit my contacts, changing photos, adding nicknames, adding addresses, changing format, crash,

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
Still in the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports for crash reports related to the process. The report name starts with the name of the crashed process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful.

  • OSX Mountain Lion install / download issue. Help Please!

I have attempted to download OSX ML 3 times now, each time the download completes, install runs then after restart there is no change. ML hasn't been installed. Anyone had the same issue? Any fix?

The next time you download Mountain Lion, make a copy and move it out of your Applications folder. That will save downloading it again.
What version of the OS are you currently running? If it is 10.7 try the below:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/21111661#21111661
If you look in your Applications Folder is the installer still there?
If you hold down the option/alt ket during a restart, do you see a recovery volume?
Are you getting any error messages?
Try booting into the Safe Mode to install it.
Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

  • OSX Mountain Lion change keyboard language after reboot

My native language is Portuguese, and since the 10.8.1 update, every time I reboot my computer, the keyboard language goes from Portuguese to English.
I set it again to Portuguese and after a reboot or if I shutdown the computer and start again, its english again.
This bug is very annoying, because all the layout changes. Does anyone have this problem or know how to fix it?

I'm also have the same issue. I use the Spanish ISO keyboard settings. Every time I reboot or logout the USA keyboard appears again.
As rmz83 I only have check the Spanish ISO in system preferences/language & text/input sources on OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2.
Anyone knows how to solve this problem??

  • OSX Mountain Lion post-upgrade Video issues.

I purchased this MBPRO 13 on Saturday. Upgraded to Mountain Lion this afternoon ... now weirdness has taken over.
Has anyone see this happen post-upgrade? This happens approx. every 20-30 minutes after starting up. Sure would love to know what this is and a resolution :-/
I also have a video of the issue here ---> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDxEYIdlGGU&feature=g-upl

You have 14 days from receipt to return it for a refund.
That looks like a Hardware problem to me, unless you have installed a lot of goofy aftermarket stuff.

  • HTML Mail Signatures changed in OSX Mountain Lion

    Hi,
The way i usually set up a HTML email signature is by creating a new signature in mail, finding that .webarchive file in Library > Mail > Signatures and replacing it with the newly made .webarchive file of the HTML signature. This has worked fine up until I needed to do the same for a MacBook Pro running on Mountain Lion.
It seems the file type Mail creates for new signatures is now called .mailsignature. I tried using the same method as above but changing the extension to the new format but its not working.
Does anyone know how i can get my html sig into Mail for Mountain Lion?
    Cheers!

Scrap that - even though i searched this forum prior to asking, after i posted it came up with a list of answers.
    Problem solved!

  • Osx Mountain Lion Issues

Hi, I purchased a laptop from Apple around 8 weeks ago. I've had nothing but trouble with it ever since. I've been averaging a trip to the "Genius" bar roughly once a week. I'm onto the 2nd laptop, it has had it HD replaced. I've had to reinstall ML around 6-8 times, and have basically pulled what was left of my hair out.
I haven't lost any data, as things started to happen as soon as I purchase and I haven't been game toi.
I've been sent between the Support line and the Genius Bar, and no one has been able to help me. I don't want to start on a rant.
Basically symptoms start with , me losing permissions, screen and graphics becoming unstable when accessing certain websites, and the notification centre.
Not being able to access the app store. Updates being downloaded but not installed. System Preferences changing before my very eyes.
Just a nightmare. I have various log files, screen shots and even a 13 minute video.
It's the first time I've ever owned a Mac and have been upfront and said that if I'm doing something wrong, please tell me, as I have very limited knowledge.
A common denominator seems to have been the download of a file About Downloads.pdf.
    Anyone else had similar problems??
More than happy to put more info up, should anyone be willing and/or to help.
    Thanks

    Thanks for the responses.
I'm taking the "thrown in the deep end" learning course on this, so please forgive me, if I don't make sense. I've been spending a fair bit of time on it, and am currently clutching at straws, because I've tried to follow the tutorials and try and learn what I can. I haven't been able to isolate the issue, and no one has been able to help me.
Here's the log after install - I'm only guessing, but common sense to me, says that someone has remote acces and the ability to control my device??? This was just after I had an IT person, delete, partition and install - they only pressed the buttons and didn't hang around to see the results, as they were at work and just trying to do me a favour -
