Hello,
Admin/boot credentials are specified when you are creating a new domain, not while installation. Create a new domain, it prompt for user credential, remember them. Then start the server and try to log on to admin console using that credentials.

  • Getting Error when trying to deploy Portlet Application on WebLogic Server

    Hi,
    We have a WebLogic server installed on a Windows machine. We created a new Domain, extended it with ADF Runtime and with Web Center Framework. It created three servers for us along with the already existing AdminServer, WLS_Portlet, WLS_Spaces, WLS_Service.
    We created a portlet Application on our development machine using JDeveloper. When we run it from JDeveloper it runs as expected without any errors.
    We created a Deployment profile for the application as an EAR file. Then we copied this EAR file over to the machine on which WebLogic server is installed (deployment machine).
    On the Deployments screen of the WebLogic Server Console, we selected "Install", selected the EAR file we had created above, selected "Install as Application" and then selected the WLS_Portlet server on which to install it. Then we just kept clicking Next and Finish.
    The first time we tried it, we got a NoClassDefFound exception for some class like JAXRPCServer. We did some research and found that to fix this issue we can put the containing .jar files of the classes not found into the public_html\WEB-INF\lib folder. We tried this for the above error by placing "wsserver.jar" file into the lib folder. Then we got anothe NoClassDefFound error. We again searched for the containing .jar file and put it into the lib folder. This continued for around ten to twenty errors and now we are stuck at a point where we are not able to find a way out.
    The current error that we are getting is NoClassDefFound: oracle/security/jps/internal/policystore/GranteeFactory. We searched for the containing jar of this class and found it to be jps-internal.jar which is already present in our lib folder. The stack trace of the exception is:

    Any help would be appreciated on this since we are stuck at this point and have no idea to get across this hurdle.
    One more thing, this is the first time that we are trying to play with WebLogic or even Java. So, some of our questions or steps performed might seem irrelevant here.
    Thanks,
    Gaurav

    Hi,
    Another update on this issue.
    To remove the error that we were getting (java.lang.LinkageError: Class javax/xml/transform/Source violates loader constraints), we tried some searching around and found out that the way to fix it is to provide correct versions of xalan.jar, xml-apis.jar and xercesImpl.jar. We downloaded the required version from the apache site and added it to our WEB-INF/lib folder in the WAR file.
    Now, we are getting this error:
    XPathFactory#newInstance() failed to create an XPathFactory for the default object model: http://java.sun.com/jaxp/xpath/dom with the XPathFactoryConfigurationException: javax.xml.xpath.XPathFactoryConfigurationException: No XPathFctory implementation found for the object model: http://java.sun.com/jaxp/xpath/dom
    What else we might be missing in our libs or do we need to check some other configurations?
    Any help on this would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Gaurav

    Hi,
    I have a problem when in was trying to start the weblogic server from the

    Hi!
    I'm quite sure that this is a time out problem. I need about 3 minutes to start
    up my weblogic server. It's no problem to start it from a command prompt
    (startWeblogic.cmd), but using weblogic console application I always got a time
    out after 120 seconds. On a faster computer, where the start up process can be
    finished in less then 120 seconds it was no problem to start the server with the
    same amount of EJBs.
    Does anyone know how to increase the time out parameter for the weblogic console
    application?
    Best reagards,

    I actually got WL to work on my system yesterday. I found that it was aresource
    problem. I had to shut down my X Server; if you don't know what the XServer is,
    it's (basically) the app that runs a window manager. It was consuming toomuch
    of my processing time. WL is now the only thing running on that machine.
    Since you have NT, You may want to try shutting down all uneccesarydevices and
    app's.

  • Custom ClassLoader - trying to use different version of SNMP library than WebLogic Server 8.1 uses

    Problem: my J2EE ear file uses the AdventNet third-party library to do
    SNMP work. WebLogic Server 8.1 also uses this AdventNet third-party
    library to do its own SNMP work. The problem is the version used by
    WebLogic 8.1 is older than the version I use, so my code tries to run
    and finds the wrong version of the library that WebLogic 8.1 has supplied.
    Possible solution: I plan to have a custom classloader (derived from
    java.lang.ClassLoader) that gets hooked in to my threads using
    Thread.setContextClassLoader(). This custom classloader would look for
    the AdventNet library jars in a spot I specify so it would find the
    correct ones. Since I want to change the usual classloader behavior of
    "look in parent classloaders first, then child classloader" to "look in
    child classloader first, then in parent classloaders" I can't just
    override ClassLoader.findClass(). I, at a minimum, have to override
    ClassLoader.loadClass() to look in my classloader first. I have
    questions about this:
    1. What other methods do I have to override? For example, which of the
    resource-related methods do I need to override so that resources are
    searched for first in my classloader then in parent classloaders?
    2. I was thinking of using a URLClassLoader as a helper to my
    classloader, invoking its method(s) from my custom classloader's
    method(s) to actually load the classes from URLs that are not on the
    standard classpath. I was planning to set it up with a custom parent
    classloader that can't find anything, so that the helper URLClassLoader
    would only ever find classes/resources in the URLs I provide to it. Does
    this approach make sense? Have you seen anything like this done before?
    3. Is there any way around this problem besides a custom ClassLoader? A
    buggy custom ClassLoader would have problems which AFAIK would be
    difficult to track down as ClassLoader problems.
    Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

    Hi,
    I am experiencing the same problme and
    even I tried to put the AdventNet jar files
    before weblogic.jar I still cannot get it
    to work
    Would you help me out here.
    Thanks,
    -AlvinI finally figured out a way to do it using a custom classloader that
    looked in the directory where I kept the version of AdventNet I wanted
    before looking in the normal places classloaders look.
    How it works is I hook two classloaders at the bottom of the chain of
    classloaders. My custom BlockingClassLoader is hooked as a child of the
    normal chain of classloaders, then a URLClassLoader is hooked under
    that. The BlockingClassLoader's findClass method checks if the class
    starts with a package prefix I want to control (like "com.adventnet.").
    If it does, then it acts like it can't find the class. This makes its
    child, the URLClassLoader, try to find the class. The URLClassLoader
    is given the URL of places to look for classes that match the directory
    I keep the version of AdventNet I want in. When I load a class, I
    directly tell the URLClassLoader to load it so that it is loaded as I want.
    There's more to it than this. I had to override some other methods in
    my BlockingClassLoader and do some other stuff. I'm not sure if I can
    share the source code, as it was developed on company time and thus is
    owned by the company. Feel free to ask questions though.
    I haven't tried this solution very long (basically just unit tested it)
    but it looks promising.

  • JNDI not found when trying to communicate from websphere to weblogic server

    Hi,
    we have a J2EE application in which the client is a standalone program or may reside in any of the application server. But our EJB component is deployed in the weblogic server.
    Earlier the client program which contacts the EJB is a standalone program and it uses the weblogic initial context factory and t3 protocol and we will have the weblogic.jar in the classpath.
    but there is a new requirement as our new client is in websphere and it has to contact the weblogic server through IIOP protocol and websphere initial context factory. Please let me know what i need to do?
    Since iam new to websphere and i am having no clue to establish the communication. I tried to use both IIOP protocol and wesphere initial context factory.but still i get exception as the JNDI name not found.
    Guidance is appreciated.
    Thanx in advance.

    To be in same page, iam running the client program using the IBM jre and using all the websphere client jars set in classpath. This program conatins intial context factory as "com.ibm.websphere.naming.WsnInitialContextFactory" and provider url as "iiop://hostname:portnumber" it contacts the EJB bean method which is hosted on the weblogic server on the "hostname" machine. When it tries to contact i get the errror as

  • Anybody tried install oracle 10g into Microsoft Windows Server 2003

    Dear sir/madam
    I would like to know is anybody tried install oracle 10g 10.2.0.1.0 into Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003?
    Will it works smoothly? any problems about it? any networks problems?
    I am prepare to buy Genuine Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003, so I would like to know about this matter.
    many thanks
    Francis

    While I have not installed Oracle on Windows 2003 Small Business Server, I would suggest that you not install on that particular version of Windows. While I have not worked with SBS, I believe that this is an all-in-one solution that handles Exchange email services, file services, print services, domain control (all roles), DNS, WINS, HTTP, and probably a couple other things also.
    While it sounds like a great idea to add Oracle to this server, I suspect that you will encounter some of the same issues that cause problems when Oracle is installed on a Windows domain controller. On such a server, there is no concept of a local group (the ORA_DBA group that the installer tries to create). Available memory, availalble free CPU, and disk contention may also be a problem due to contention with other services running on the server.
    You might take a look at the following Metalink articles:
    Note:46001.1
    Note:77665.1
    Note:160538.1
    I would suggest that you take a look at the 64 bit Standard Edition of Windows 2003 if it is compatible with your hardware, or if you are familiar with Linux, do as Aman suggested. If possible, run only Oracle on the server.
    Incidentally, Windows 2003 SBS is not listed on Oracle's certify web page, even though Windows 2008 is listed.

  • How to deploy a war file on Weblogic Server 7.0??

    Hello Everyone
    I am trying to deploy a servlet on Weblogic Server 7.0 as a WAR file. Can anyone of u plz tell me the steps required to do that. I am posting this question on EJb forum and not on servlets coz this is not a servlet problem, rather this is something which is related to J2EE, ie how to deploy a war file on J2EE Server.
    This is how i have done it, but this is not working---
    (1) First i created a directory structure for the web application according to J2EE Specification.
    C:\Work\
    myServletWAR\
    META-INF\
    WEB-INF\
    classes\
    HelloServlet.class
    web.xml
    i.e within work directory, there is a dic called myServletWAR which is my application directory which contains 2 sub directories viz META-INF which contains the mainifest file being generated by the jar utility. the second directory in the myServletWAR application dir is WEB-INF, which contains one file called web.xml for servlet mapping and one directory classes which contains HelloServlet.class
    (2) I used following command for creating war file from myServletWAR director(i.e from my web application's directory).
    jar -cvf TestServletWAR.war .
    This creates the TestServletWAR.war file in myServletWAR dir.
    Here is how my Servlet and web.xml looks like...
    Servlet code
    import java.io.*;
    import javax.servlet.*;
    import javax.servlet.http.*;
    public class HelloServlet extends HttpServlet
    public void doPost ( HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res )
    throws IOException, ServletException
    doGet( req, res );
    public void doGet ( HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res )
    throws IOException, ServletException
    res.setContentType( "text/html" ); // Can also use "text/plain" or others.
    PrintWriter out = res.getWriter();
    // Get the requestor's IP address (See JavaDocs to see how to get other info):
    String addr = req.getRemoteAddr();
    // Create output (the response):
    out.println( "<HTML><HEAD><TITLE>HelloServlet in myServletWAR</TITLE></HEAD>" );
    out.println( "<BODY><H1 ALIGN=\"CENTER\">" );
    out.println( "Hello " + addr + ", from HelloServlet in myServletWAR!" );
    out.println( "</H1></BODY></HTML>" );
    out.close();

    After deploying the TestServletWAR.war file on the weblogic 7.0, i tried to execute the servlet from the browser by the following URL
    http://localhost:7001/myServletWAR/myHello
    I am getting the HTTP 404 Error, which is an indication that weblogic was unable to find the resourse, which it was requested for. Can anybody plz tell me what i m doing worng?? do i need to use weblogic related xml file (i.e weblogic.xml) also along with web.xml. If yes, then what all i need to include that. I m not very sure. A sample weblogic.xml file for this HelloWorld example will help me a lot.
    Looking forward for your help

    Weblogic has been designed for nannies...
    I've developed a application which uses internally my own jdbc-driver.
    After months of really hard work on tomcat (the application works fine) I've tried migrate it to weblogic.
    But ...
    In weblogic seems mandatory to put the jdbc drivers out of the war!!!. Brilliant!!!
    If I move the driver out, I need move the 50% of the application out, also!
    If I move part of the application out, nothing works, because... are the class loaders distinct?. And I'll need to do a lot of extra work because one day one weblogic architect had a great great inspiration.
    In the future I'll suggest to my customers to run and not stop when they listen the WEBLOGIC word.

    Hi there,
    I've just download the latest version of OEPE (Luna) and realized that there is not Weblogic adapter included in the OEPE.
    Clicking on the "Download additional server adapters" also does not give me any Weblogic adapter option for download.

    Which version of WebLogic Server are you trying to configure in OEPE?
    If you go to the Servers view and right-click to select New, do you see an Oracle category in the New Servers view? Under the Oracle category there should be numerous WebLogic versions listed.

    You can have several servers under one domain. No need to create a new
    domain for each server. Just configure a server and make sure they are
    listening on different ports. you are all set.
