If so mind sharing how that was accomplished.

I also bought an x1110 some years ago back in my winblows days.
I had the scanner partly working before i threw it in the shed.  I was never able to get the printer working
By partly working I mean the whole A4 scan did not work, it would capture a quarter of the page and blank the rest out.
I'm not sure if the error was with the hardware or software. I remember I used it via Gimp and I think it was on Ubuntu 6.04
I just gave up. There are so many working brands out there, Lexmark just isn't one of them.

  • Has anyone managed to get a 3TB dynamic disk on Windows 2003 Server?

I just got a pair of new 3TB disks that I wanted to put on my Windows 2003 server enterprise x64 system, SP2, all updates installed.
When I first tried to convert to dynamic, I got the error "The operation did not complete" as described in this KB article
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/826823
It says there is a patch, but there is not one for x64, just x86 and ia64
I found another technet discussion here:  https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverfiles/thread/cb62238c-b3d0-4989-b45a-ae6de6701a7b?stoAI=10
However its best suggestion is to use a product from AOMIE, but I tried that and it didn't even recognize the disk.  It also suggests that one needs a better version of diskpart.exe and to try to the 32 bit version.  Anyone have any experience
    with that?
I also tried creating moving the disk to Windows 7 x64, making it dynamic there, but when I move the disk back to 2K3 it does not recognize it, and goes back to a 2TB partition.  I also saw something about needing a 512 block size for 2K3, but W7 does
not allow anything smaller than 1K.

    Hi,
During my research, if found the following artcle which also mentioned a 3TB disk should be supported in Windows 2003 SP1:
Has anyone managed to get a 3TB dynamic disk on Windows 2003 Server?
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverfiles/thread/a720ae72-0c04-44dd-94c0-2e6aecce530e
So I contact the author about this issue. He said it could be caused if your hard disk is a 512e drive as the 3TB drives on the market today are normally 512e drives.
However manufacturers stopping identifying this, and if the controller is old, FSUtil will not able to identify a 512 drive but recognized it as a normal 512n drive.
Thus please provide the drive model so we could search on manufacturer's website for exact information.
Also please paste the screenshot in your reply which Satish mentioned if available.
In addition, here is an article Robert provided:

  • Has anyone managed to get a PS3 Controller to work with OSX Lion?

    Hi,
I wanted to connect my PS3 controller to my iMac (late 2011) using bluetooth but have been unable to do so. It will connect for a brief time but then it will lose connect as it has not paired. It also asks me for a pairing code. I have tried 0000 and this does not work. I have searched the internet and it seems this is a common issue. Has anyone managed to get it working?
Does anyone know if Apple plan to fix the issue with a forthcomming update?
    Cheers,
    Tim

There are numerous threads on this, please use the "More Like this" tool, you will find it on the right. I'm not sure if anyone has any solutions but that is the logical place to start.

  • Has anyone managed to get HP Warranty Information into SCCM?

Has anyone managed to get HP Warranty Information into SCCM?
I have tried a few scripts that I found on the net but none of them seem to work as I believe HP updated there site this year..

OK, I played around a bit (scripting from a web page isn't way beyond me) but... a few caveats.  My lab isn't available right now; so all I could test was that the script ran on an HP laptop.  A single HP laptop.  and created the regkeys in
(in my case) HKLM\software\wow6432node\CompanyName\WarrantyInformation.  So... one single test on one single workstation, and no testing of the mof edit means... I'll need your help to confirm it works.
Anyway, below is the script.  Other caveats:  It drops a log, and then continuously adds to the log file in %temp% (of the SYSTEM, which is using %windir%\temp).  So depending upon what you want/need--you may want to change the EnableLogging
= True to EnableLogging = False (once you confirm it works on all/most of your boxes).  The other caveat, of course, is to change the sCompanyname = to be your Company Name; although I suggest you don't have spaces or special characters in it.  Short
'n' sweet.  Then, naturally, once you have a box with the regkeys, use Mark Cochrane's RegKeytoMof 3.0 or higher to build the mof edits for you to paste to the bottom of your configuration.mof and sms_def.mof.  In that blog above Eric Schloss was
using DCM as the delivery method to deliver the script to populate the regkeys--that worked for him and I see no reason it wouldn't work for everyone--so once you've tested the script interactively from a psexec -s -i cmd.exe shell on an hp box (to see it
create the regkeys) I'd make a DCM like Eric did and target a collection with a few HP laptops or desktops and confirm it works via the DCM.
Anyway, give this a try--again... only tested on 1 single, lonely little HP laptop.  Needs a bigger test base!
Edit:  and... even using Regkeytomof sometimes regkeys can be tricky.  If the mof edit doesn't work right to pull the data back, post what you've added.  someone here can usually spot if there's something not right about it and help you fix
    the mof edit.
Edit #2: removed bad space, and bad copy/paste job as discovered by sevengs.  Thanks!

  • How do I get my Kodak ESP 3.2s printer to print documents from my iPad ?

    I have an iPad
I have a Kodak ESP 3.2s all in one printer
I have set it up to print via my home wi fi using my normal laptop with Microsoft
However I couldn't  work out how to print from my iPad as its not configured for Apple!
I downloaded Kodak Pic flick HD app
This means I can now print photos from my iPad!  Great
But still can't print documents it seems     I get a message saying No AirPrint Printers Found
    Any advice very welcome
    Thank you
    iknow0

Airprint is a technology created by Apple Inc. and introduced in iOS 4.0 that allowed iPads, iPhones, and iPod Touches to print directly to Airprint compatible printers. Unlike computer printing where the drivers, fonts, etc. are stored on the computer and sent to the printer with the document with Airprint fonts, drivers, etc. are stored on the printer and need not be sent with the document.
The solution to your problem is 3rd party software which both Jim and I suggested to you.

  • This is a hint to anyone who cannot find their airprint printer from their ipad:  after 10 hours of trying everything imaginable, i can now print directly from my iPad by turning off the bluetooth in settings and waiting for 30 seconds.  presto!

after spending a full day and a half trying everything imaginable, i finally found a way to get my ipad to find my new airprint capable  printer.  I could print from email or the cloud, but not directly from my ipad.  After reading a discussion about bluetooth printers, i turned off bluetooth in settings, waited 30 seconds, and voila!!  I was able to print directly from my ipad.  Try it if you are having troubles

    Greetings,
I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.
    Good Luck - Cheers,
    M.

Have you tried restarting the printer? Reboot the iPad as well.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

I have a Lexmark s405 printer and I've just updated the firmware and still can't print wirelessly from my iPad. Why?

That model doesn't appear to support AirPrint (those that do are listed on this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356)
Have you checked to see if Lexmark have their own app in the store, or there are third-party apps such as Print Central For iPad and Print n Share which might work with it

  • How do I print directly from my iPad to wireless Brother air printer ?

We cannot print directly from ipad1.  We have a new Brother pie print compatible (supposedly) printer, given as a gift, model MFCJ825DW.  It prints nicely from my MacBook Pro through our home wifi network.  The iPad, however, will not connect to the printer directly and print.  I have to have the MacBook Pro running also in order to print, and then only through an app I bought off iTunes for $9.99. That app is very difficult to use as well (Pro Center...).  Is there simply no way to connect an iPad 1 to print directly to this printer ?  I have to take my Macbbk Pro to work, and this leaves my wife and the iPad unable to print.  That was the main reason for getting the wireless printer!  Am I going to have to buy an HP printer, and to they really allow you to print directly from an iPad? I have spent hours trying to solve this and have tried everything I could find, including Google cloud (unable to load Google Chrome on iPad), iPrint and Scan, etc.  Can anyone help us out here, or are we just stuck with an Apple product and a printer we cannot effectively use?

Your printer is on the list of supported printers.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
So it should work.  I have not used a brother, but the drill for other airprint printers is:
Make sure the printer is on the same wifi network.
From the printer console, check for and install any firmware update that is available.  Almost all airprint devices need the firmware up date.   Do the update from the printer, not your computer.
Reboot the pad.   Recycle the router.  If it still is not working, goto the brother support sire and see if there is a discussion there that can help you.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 All in One printer - printing wirelessly from an IPAD

I'm trying to connect a HP Officejet Pro 8600 to our university campus wireless network for the purposes of printing wirelessly from an IPAD.  The printer finds the wireless network when going through wireless wizard setup but gets a message that the wireless network is using security that is not supported.
    The campus wireless network uses:
    Security type: WPA2-Enterprise
    Encryption type: AES
Can anyone tell me if these are supported by this model printer?

    Hey ibebry,
The printer is designed to be used with WPA2 - Personal and not the Enterprise version.  From the wiki artricle on WPA encryption:
WPA-Personal Also referred to as WPA-PSK (Pre-shared key) mode, it is designed for home and small office networks and doesn't require an authentication server. Each wireless network device authenticates with the access point using the same 256-bit key generated from a password or passphrase.
WPA-Enterprise Also referred to as WPA-802.1X mode, and sometimes just WPA (as opposed to WPA-PSK). It is designed for enterprise networks and requires a RADIUS authentication server. This requires a more complicated setup, but provides additional security (e.g. protection against dictionary attacks on short passwords). An Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) is used for authentication, which comes in different flavors.
If the network is using WPA-Enterprise, then most likely the 8600 will not be able to connect.  Hope this helps.

Your printer isn't on the list but you may be able to print with Epson's app or other print apps from the App Store.

How can I print directly from my iPad to my new Primax 3260 printer when I have no computer? Do I need a portable one to one Router for the wiFi connection. My Internet is through Telstra 3G system.

Is your printer a wifi printer or hard wired only? If it's a wifi printer then you might want to look into third party apps like Print n Share or Print Central which allow a version of air printing to non-air print printers.
You may also want to look on the manufacturer's site. Maybe they have a fix for you.
If your printer isn't wifi, then you will need a router to get it on a wifi network to print to it. As far as I know, there is no support for the iPad to do wired printing.

  • Printing wirelessly from my iPad

    Hello!
I have plugged my printer into my time capsule so that I can print from my laptops wirelessly. Why can I not print wirelessly from my iPad?
Can this be set up or done?

iOS devices can only print directly to AirPrint printers. The Samsung SCX-4300 is not an AirPrint printer.
To print directly from an iPad / iPhone you will need an AirPrint compatible printer or another device to act as a print server. That can be a Mac computer running Printopia ($19.95 with free trial) or handyPrint (donation - supported). The Mac must be "on" but may be asleep for them to work. Equivalent PC options may exist but you're on your own finding them.
You can also buy this standalone print server:
    http://www.lantronix.com/it-management/xprintserver/xprintserver.html
The xPrintServer Home Edition will support a directly connected USB printer. The Network Edition will support any network printer.
These options enable you to use any printer available to your Mac, even older ones that may predate AirPrint by decades.
Otherwise you will need to buy an AirPrint printer or multifunction device.
