Anyway to Override a yes/no dialog in  Peoplecode that gets called from CI?

That about sums it up. Is there anyway to override a yes/no dialog box in Peoplecode that gets called from a CI without having to put an "if %CompIntfcName"?

Can we know the reason or your limitation , of why you cannot use the peoplecode function (%CompIntfcName ):
If %CompIntfcName <> "CI name" then
Code
End-If;

  • How to display non modal dialog box in a Dll call from TestStand implemented in visual c

    Dear Jason F.
    Applications Engineer
    National Instruments
    Hello
    I did the same way you told me
    the non modal dialog appeared and
    system hangs and
    giving the error message
    ""SeqEdit.exe-Application Error
    The instruction at 0x047fc5b0 referenced memory at 0x047fc5b0. The memory could not be read ""
    please solve my problem
    and thanks for yours early response
    you can email me at
    [email protected]

    Hi Mkehret,
    Does your dialog have ActiveX controls on it? If your DLL dialog uses ActiveX controls and is not programmed in a certain manner it can hang because of a conflict in the threading model used by the TestStand Engine that is calling into your DLL and the model that is required by the MFC ActiveX Container. If you are using ActiveX controls in your dialog, you need to make special considerations for the threading model MFC dialogs that use ActiveX controls need in order to work properly. The example under \Examples\MFCActiveXContainerDlg illustrates how to appropriately handle this situation as well as explaining why it is necessary.
    Note: The above example displays the dialog as modal, but this is irrelevant to the problem I am describing.
    Again for information on properly creating a dialog class object and displaying it as non-modal refer to the information on MSDN that I referred you to in this post:
    http://exchange.ni.com/servlet/ProcessRequest?RHIVEID=101&RPAGEID=135&HOID=506500000008000000E98A0000&USEARCHCONTEXT_CATEGORY_0=_8_&USEARCHCONTEXT_CATEGORY_S=0&UCATEGORY_0=_8_&UCATEGORY_S=0
    If your dialog does not use ActiveX controls or after trying the programming method illustrated in the "MFCActiveXContainerDlg" example TestStand still hangs when calling your DLL, try calling your DLL from another environment just to make sure whether the DLL works at all. If the DLL works properly when called by another environment (e.g. VB, VC++, LabVIEW, or CVI), please submit a MINIMAL and REPRODUCEABLE example source project for your DLL for us to look at (please exclude all unnecessary code not required to reproduce the specific problem of displaying the dialog, and include all files necessary to build your dll with any
    specific instructions needed to do so).

    I can't help with the scan/print problem. You seem to have done everything I would try.
    I don't know if maybe using a registry cleaner would help.

  • I asked this question before but I can't find it now. Anyway, I'm trying to import a DVD video that was made on a MAC and use it on a new iMovie project.

    I asked this question before but I can't find it now. Anyway, I'm trying to import a DVD video that was made on a MAC and use it on a new iMovie project.
    How do I do the importing.

    If the video is already on a DVD:
    You need to convert the VOB files in the TS-Folder of the DVD back to DV which iMovie is designed to handle. For that you need mpegStreamclip:
    http://www.squared5.com/svideo/mpeg-streamclip-mac.html
    which is free, but you must also have the  Apple mpeg2 plugin :
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/D2187Z/A/quicktime-mpeg-2-playback-component-f or-mac-os-x
    (unless you are running Lion in which case see below))
    which is a mere $20.
    Another possibility is to use DVDxDV:
    http://www.dvdxdv.com/NewFolderLookSite/Products/DVDxDV.overview.htm
    which costs $25.
    For the benefit of others who may read this thread:
    Obviously the foregoing only applies to DVDs you have made yourself, or other home-made DVDs that have been given to you. It will NOT work on copy-protected commercial DVDs, which in any case would be illegal.
    And from the TOU of these forums:
    Keep within the Law
    No material may be submitted that is intended to promote or commit an illegal act.
    Do not submit software or descriptions of processes that break or otherwise ‘work around’ digital rights management software or hardware. This includes conversations about ‘ripping’ DVDs or working around FairPlay software used on the iTunes Store.
    If you are running Lion:
    From the MPEG Streamclip homepage
    The installer of the MPEG-2 Playback Component may refuse to install the component in Lion. Apple states the component is unnecessary in Lion, however MPEG Streamclip still needs it. See this:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3381
    To install the component in Lion, please download MPEG Streamclip 1.9.3b7 beta above; inside the disk image you will find the Utility MPEG2 Component Lion: use it to install the MPEG-2 Playback Component in Lion. The original installer's disk image (QuickTimeMPEG2.dmg) is required.
    The current versions of MPEG Streamclip cannot take advantage of the built-in MPEG-2 functionality of Lion. For MPEG-2 files you still need to install the QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component, which is not preinstalled in Lion. You don't have to install QuickTime 7.

    Unfortuantely, you can only track the phone if you had set up iCloud and enabled Find My iPhone on it before it was lost or stolen.  I don't believe there is anything that Apple can do to locate your phone either.

  • Debug RFC called from external system with no dialog user

    Hi all,
    We need to debug the rfc function module which is called from the external system( Siebel ) .
    The user id is not dialog user so can not set external debugger.
    Need you help.
    Thanks,
    Anmol.

    Hi Suhas,
    Nice to know you became Moderator...
    Hmmm the solution you provided was the last option..
    Any ways the issue is resolved we changed the user to dialog user and then debugged the code.
    Thanks a Lot,
    Anmol.

  • Java - best practice for getting values from complex dialogs

    Hi,
    Java is a language I use quite a bit, but much of my work hasn't required GUIs. Now, I'm developing an app which will contain a number of custom-made dialogs (which will obviously extend JDialog). Take a typical Options dialog which typically stores many parameters for a given application.
    Simple dialogs that ship with Java allow to 'get' a given value. As they assume that the dialog only consists of obtaining a single piece of data, think JFileChooser.
    So, what is the best way to cope with a dialog that could potentially hold hundreds of parameters? It's surely unfeasible to implement getters for each field. I was thinking either creating a hashmap object to hold key-value pairs, and 'get' that from the dialog. Or, I could encapsulate that a little more by creating a new class that manages these values, ProgramOptions or such like. That can be passed around between the dialog and the main app.
    I hope this makes sense
    TIA

    I doubt it's the most efficient method, but the way I've delt with things like this in the past is to set up the fields in either an Array or ArrayList, then use a for loop that gets the data and drops it into an Array/ArrayList which is then returned.
    class MyDialog extends JDialog {
    // Global variable
    private ArrayList dialogFieldsArray= new ArrayList();
    private void initGUI() {
    for (int i=0 ; i <numRequiredFields ; i++) {
    dialogFieldsArray.add(new JTextField(10));
    private ArrayList getDialogData() {
    ArrayList rval = new ArrayList();
    for (int i=0 ; i < dialogFieldsArray.size() ; i++) {
    String tempString = ((JTextField) dialogFieldsArray.get(i)).getText();
    rval.add(tempString);
    return rval;
    The only thing to remember with the above method is the castings involved, but you could implement your own subclasses of ArrayList that deal only with JTextFields and Strings seperately to get around that.
    I personally wouldn't go for this exact style, instead I'd opt for a Map collection instead. This because you need to know which field is at which exact index. Imagine you make a form that has the fields: forename, surname, date of birth. And so you know that forename is .get(0) of your ArrayList, etc.
    But then, you decide to put a new field, saluation (Mr, Miss, etc) at the beginning. This now shifts all your olds fields along by one, and so you need to edit that code. Sure, no biggie with a handful of fields, but large dialogs could cause headaches.

  • What are the advantages of utilizing a dynamic VI compared to utilizing the VI Call Configuration Dialog Box Reload for each call option?

    Is it more efficient to use a dynamic VI or utilize the VI Call Configuration Dialog Box which apparently can perform the same function? I realize that there are restrictions on using the VI Call Configuration Dialog Box, however, if my scenario doesn't concern the restrictions, why would I want to go thru the trouble of creating a dynamic VI when I could simply click on the VI of interest and configure from a menu? Are there performance advantages? Thanks in advance!

    Generally, I wouldn't recommend playing with the call setup dialog at all (for those who don't know it, you can get to it by right clicking a subVI in the BD). By default, VIs are configured to load with callers and that's the correct options for almost all static VIs. The Open VI Reference primitive has multiple advantages:
    It allows you to select different VIs dynamically.
    It allows you to spawn multiple copies of reentrant VIs.
    It allows you to perform asynch runs (although I think that this is something that should actually be available through the call setup dialog).
    It allows you to open references to VIs in other application instances.
    In the rare cases where you do want the same functionality that the call setup dialog gives you, it doesn't hide it.
    Try to take over the world!

    Or do you have wifi backup enabled in iTunes?
    Plug it in while on wifi and it will automatically back up.

    This is a User-to-User forum.  We do not have any knowledge into what Apple will or will not do.
    However, based on past history, it is unlikely Apple will invest anything except critical security updates into Mac OS X 10.5.  I could be wrong.
    If you really REALLY need Java 1.6 on your Mac, you should consider upgrading to a newer version of Mac OS X.

  • What's a dialog called that slides up from the frame?

    I need a popup dialog that alerts the user when a system value changes. I don't want to give this popup focus - the focus needs to stay in the window the user is currently editing.
    It seems like a perfect solution would be a panel that slides up from the frame and hovers for a few seconds before sliding back down.
    What are these properly called?
    Does anyone know of a freeware library or code snippet that illustrates how to implement them?
    Thanks! LegoQueen

    Just have a separate thread running to change it's location at a certain speed. If you use a panel, you can add it to the drag level of the JLayeredPane of the JFrame. Shouldn't be too hard, but don't know of any examples.
