AP Check performance in r12
I use the BI Publisher to generate AP checks. In r12 the entire functionality moved to IBY module (xml change). After modifying the 11i existing template to fit new r12 structure all works fine until I process a check with 600 invoices associated with it. It takes aver 2 hours to get it formatted by the XDO engine. Does anyone experience similar problem?

No I didn't follow dan step.
- Ask functional team member to create open invoice
- Ask them to run a "quick check"
then using SQLDeveloper or TOAD to get data from
IBY_TRXN_DOCUMENTS table to get the XML file
Make sure u pick max TRXMNID and see some data.
If there is no records in your table then check with functional team again which they have lost the setting.
Another trick if not comfortable using the table is to change Java concurrent program from PDF to XML which you should be able to see the XML file.

Consider an object in role with 5 fields.Suppose We maintain 2 fields and leave 3 field unmaintained.
How would the check be done? Will the check be done only for the maintained field values in object and the umaintained fields will be ignored in check?
Or is the check performed Object dependent?

I think you mean five instances of the the same object.
An object will have only fixed fields, irrespective the number of times you pull it.

Take any object as an example... say S_TABU_DIS, you have five instances of it, each with different values. and one with unmaintained or open. You genereate the profile. Now the checks in SAP happen in an AND operation for one instance.
so if you have S_TABU_DIS as 02, and auth group 'SS'
and in the second instance as 03 adn 'VS', then they are checked in an AND operation. Only activity 02 will be given to 'SS' . They dont cross-poliinate. hence this will not result in 03 for auth group 'SS'. Open authorizations provide no extra authorization, unless explicitly checked for DUMMY / ' ' . (Julius, I remember you )
Once the user logs in SAP, the user buffer is loaded and the first successful check is returned with RC=0, else if not found ...it will fail

Configuration upload failed in post check process of R12.1.1 installation
I tried to install 64 bit R12.1.1 on64 bit linux OS.I checked pre-requirements as in the document ID 761566.1.It passed in all pre-checks.But at 92% of step 2 it shows error as "RW-50004: Error code received when running external process. Check log file for details.Running Database Install Driver for EBSR121 instance".
I gave retry . At post installation check.Configuration upload,HTTP,Help page,jsp, virtual directoryand login page failed.I start OPMN,Apache server,in application part .It result in HTTP,Help page, jsp ,virtual directory passed. Still configuration upload and login page failed.

Hi Everyone,
We are in the process of upgrading from 11.5.10 to 12.1.2. In 11i, we print our payables checks using the third party s/w OPTIO.
But, in R12, by default, the check output is coming in PDF format and OPTIO can't read the PDF and prints garbage.
So, we are planning to customize the RTF template to meet our needs to print the AP check directly from Oracle. We are not using any pre-printed stationary, so the check output should contain the bank information in MICR font and signature also.
What is the best way of printing the information in MICR font?
Is it possible to send the secured information in PCL and print it using the MICR font available on the printer?
Your advise is greatly appreciated.

Check performance data on IE status bar
Hi, experts.
I'm trying to check the performance data of WDJ by using
paramter, "sap.session.ssr.showInfo=true".
I can see some data flow over the status bar of IE.
But it went so quickly, I can't analyze the result.
I know using WD console to check the performance, so I just
want to check quick result on IE.

Printing Checks from Oracle r12
I'm not too sure on where I should have put this post because I really don't know anything about Oracle. In my company I handle Server and PC maintenance mainly. The only thing I do with Oracle is I have to run a report every morning. The people in the positions that would usually handle what I need to get done are extremely busy right now and they have asked me to do research on this issue.
We are currently in the middle of upgrading to Oracle r12 and running 11i right now. The current check printing we have won't work with r12 from what I hear. Do I have to use a third party program to print the checks from Oracle or is this something we could code ourselves? Sorry if this doesn't make since to anyone, please reply and I will try to explain as well as I can... remember... I only know how to run this one report in Oracle.

You do not need to use third party software, if you have a printer configured in the application, and you register you custom report (the check report) properly, then you should be able to print from the application.

Steps to check performance for SAP Businessobjects site

Murthythe first thing is do some profiling on your application to see which mathod takes the longest time. Also trace the Report DB server to see if it takes longer in the DB server. Based on which server you use to render the report: RAS, PS - for crystal reports or webi processing server for webi reports, you can trace the specific server by adding -trace to check timestamp on varioud requests. Also check if you get similar behavior from .NET InfoView. Check if there are any network related issues such as proxy, firewall or DMZ.

Can someone tell us how the AP check program works in R12? It seems the new Oracle documentation or white paper "Check Printing using XML Publisher - Jan 2005" point to AP check R11.xx.
Reports like APXPBFEG or APXPBFOR does not exist in $AP_TOP/reports to generate XML file before passing to XMLPublisher.
So how the xml file are generated by AP check in R12?

VS2005/CR - Certificate check, performance problem

Hello,I have a problem with the Crystal Reports (with CR ServicePack 1 installed) that shipps with the Visual Studio 2005 Professional IDE. It looks like the reports are using a certificate check that is out on the internet(?). The synpthoms are extremely bad performance the first time the reports are instantiated. E.g say I have this C# code: CrystalReport1 rep = new CrystalReport1();The first time this line is called it takes minute(s) (1 minute + 40 sec) before it completes. After it completes the first time, the next calls to this line takes less than nothing (less than 1 sec). I want it to take less than nothing (less than 5-6 sec is OK) the first time aswell.If I disable the certificate check in the registry in Windows, it takes less than 1 second the first time aswell. E.g in "regedit":My ComputerHKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionWinTrustTrusted ProvidersSoftware PublishingChange the "state" from "0x23c00" to "+ "0x23e00" to switch it off.But I cannot do this on a customer computer.Does anyone have any good suggestions, please?Best regards,Lars-IngeHi,
both execution plans have very similar cost values (278461 for the bad plan, 270476 for the good plan) and the necessary I/O is also similar. But the bad plan creates an intermediate result of almost 500M rows before the SORT UNIQUE reduces this result to just 505 rows - while the good plan sorts the input data before doing the join and reduces the 627859 rows before doing a second sort operation (HASH UNIQUE). In addition the Nested Loops join to create the result for the inline-view trt_cells in the first plan seems to be more reasonable than the HASH join in the bad plan - but the treatment of ch_cells seems to be the bigger problem.
With the very similar cost value a small change in the arithemtic can result in a changed plan. But both plans do a bad job to determine the size of the resultsets of the hash joins: the bad plan expects to get 2.3M rows (instead of 500M) before the sort takes place and the good plan shows 1900 rows for the join (and gets 627859 rows).
I would try to check why the cardinalities for the join of ACRM_LEAD_TO_CHANNEL_DAILY and UA_CONTACTHISTORY with the join condition (ch.treatmentcode = daily_leads.treatmentcode) are not accurate. Perhaps the columns statistics for the join columns are misleading (number of distinct values, low_value, high_value in user_tab_cols). You could try to use the values in the standard formulas to calculate join selectivity and cardinality (here in a simplified version from Randolf Geist's blog: Oracle related stuff: Table Functions And Join Cardinality Estimates):
Join Selectivity = 1 / greater(num_distinct(t1.c1), num_distinct(t2.c2))
Join Cardinality = Join Selectivity * cardinality t1 * cardinality t2
Perhaps the results will show where the CBO needs a little bit help (or better statistics).

Where would you check performance of webi? query is taking long time to run

In the bex query world running on portal you were able to go to sm50 and check what the query is doing and where it is taking a long time or atleast you were able to see the processes runing.
Where would you check the running processes when you are running a webi query, we are trying to write a webi report which is on universe which is created on bex query. The report is very simple just two fields and an mandatory variable which is coming from bex query (have defined the variable in bex query). When we exeute the query it is taking a long time just spinning and I am not getting any data back, on the same query before even hitting the run query button, I am trying to put a object in query filters and set the filter as In list from Value(s) from list and it is taking forever to set that filter.
Can we go to CMC or BW backend and check anywhere we are using sap authentication, I see the number of sessions in CMC but that is it.

Gowtham - What is the optimal array fetch size that needs to set for the universes, can you explain bit more about array fetch size?
All our universes are on BEx queries designed in SAP BW in that case does the array fetch size matter and array bind size matter? I had read this in oneof the universe designer manuals for OLAP universes The Array fetch size, Array bind size, and Login timeout parameters are not used for OLAP connections

I just want to have a test for the standard credit check process in EBS and then consider the customization to it. But I failed to finish the standard process test. Could you please help me to identify my issue?
Below is the setup i did for the credit check:
1. credit rule
2. transaction type with the credit rule above associated
3. payment term credit check box checked
4. customer bill-to site , credit check check box checked and order limit, overall order limit are both set to 50 EUR
after the setup I create a sales order using the customer and transaction type and payment term setup above, and the total amount for the order is over 10000EUR, but it successfully booked without any credit hold.
I wonder is there anything I miss to setup?

3. It is hard to find what is wrong and I had solution:) How to generate the Tax debug file for transactions in Sales Order form [ID 791080.1] After this you will know what standard pck you should customize( I had to exclude some translation types from AR during booking and this worked).
