Apache 1.3 / localhost issues, broken

When I got my MacBook back in July, 2006, I set it up to act as a web server so I could build and develop dynamic websites without having to lease space with a web hosting service. I tinkered with it for a while, installed MySQL 5 and PHP 5. After a while, I stopped tinkering with it due to a loss of interest - and busy work schedules. Now, I'm taking Database Connectivity at school. The class is focused on PHP 5 and MySQL 5, but for some reason now, my Apache 1.3.33 won't work. (I've gone into System Prefs.> Sharing > Personal Web Sharing) and it just sits there saying "Starting up". How can I start it manually from the Terminal? What would I have to do if I can't get it started from the Terminal?

  • File://localhost/ Issue Itunes Can't Find My Music.

    I recently upgraded my old hard drive on my computer so after removing the old one and turning it into an external hard drive I have issues with Itunes finding my music files. The files are always in file://localhost/c:/.... is there anyway to get rid of the file://localhost/ because the rest of the directory is correct.

    +changed the location of the music folder to E: iTunes Music.+
    All this does is make future additions go to that new place.
    When you move things around outside of itunes, it loses the path, as you've found.
    Can you move everything back and use the Consolidate Library command to move it to the new location?
    Here is a good article from iLounge on what you need to understand about the process.

  • Apache and Weblogic  - Performance issue

    Hi Anuj,
    This question should be directed to the weblogic.developer.interest.plug-in
    group.
    Regarding this issue, this is normal -- the access.log for WebLogic shows
    the requests from the proxy. But, instead of showing you the IP address of
    the proxy server, it instead shows you the IP address of the client. You
    can also verify that this is a different request because the connection to
    the proxy server used HTTP/1.1, and the connection to WLS used HTTP/1.0 --
    this is the protocol that the proxy plug-in uses to communicate with WLS.
    So, in summary, there is only one request made by the client per image, and
    the plug-in is in turn making a request to WLS for each image.

    We have a setup with apache acting as web server and BEA as app server.But it
    seems both of them are serving images to the web browser at the same time.This
    is consuming lots of memory. Can anybody help rectifing this,
    here's what each log file's say,
    first Apache (access_log) shows that it served it up:
    172.20.100.142 - - [19/Dec/2001:01:20:24 -0800] "GET /img/divider.gif

    172.20.100.142 - - [19/Dec/2001:01:20:24 -0800] "GET
    /img/sort_last_manual.gif H
    Then BEA (access.log) shows it too:
    172.20.100.142 - - [19/Dec/2001:01:20:24 -0800] "GET /img/divider.gif

    172.20.100.142 - - [19/Dec/2001:01:20:24 -0800] "GET

  • Localhost issues with flash?

    I can't figure this out. When I test a URL page with an
    embedded SWF file (using
    http://localhost/etc.) I cannot
    get the embedded SWF to play more than one or two frames.
    However, if I upload this same flash-embedded html page, and
    test it on the WWW, then it seesm to play without a glitch.
    Any ideas whatsoever!!??

    Not enough info to answer specifically but would suspect
    timing issue where
    the localhost is processing responses to Flash quicker than
    the net.
    This is possible if you are using any "net" callbacks like
    LoadVars, XML,
    MovieClipLoader and you are assigning the callback function
    to the object
    variable after you initiate the load or sendAndLoad, your
    local machine may
    response so quickly that the callback function assignment
    line was not
    processed in time.
    myObject.load(....)
    myObject.onLoad() = function (...)
    The load should be last.
    Use the examples in the help for the order of these
    assignments in code.

  • Localhost issue with Adobe Edge Inspect on iPhone

    I'm synching up multiple devices to use Adobe Edge Inspect.
    I downloaded and installed:
    Chrome extension.
    Adobe Edge Inspect on Android (on a Samsung Galaxy Tablet)
    Adobe Edge Inspect on iPhone 4
    I am using a Windows 64bit OS.
    When I inspect online websites, both the tablet and iPhone synch.
    I have a local instance of Tomcat.
    I have a very simple index.html (Hello World in it).
    When I use in my chrome browser localhost:8080 my Android tablet is synched
    The iPhone does not synch, and I get a request timeout.
    I also attempted using the IP Address instead of localhost with the same result.
    The iPhone is synching with sites that I access that are hosted on the web.
    How can I get it to synch using Tomcat so that I can use my localhost instance?
    Thanks

    This is pretty strange. I think you should try making sure Windows Firewall and any other firewall or virus protection software is off and try again to see if you get a different result with your local apache server.
    Let us know if that helps. If not we'll see if we can come up with any other ideas.

  • Apache pdf file permission issues

    I have a intranet site that I need to publish some pdf files. I am using a G5, Leopard and apache 2 and PHP. My PHP is just providing a link the pdf documents, but when a user clicks on the link they get a message "You don't have permission to access /PDF/filename.pdf on this server." I don't think there is any apache configuration to change but maybe I am wrong. Does anyone know what this could be?

    Clearly Apache doesn't have permission to serve the files (or the directory it's in).
    Check the permissions on the file. it needs to be readable at least by the user _www. The directory it's in also needs to be readable as well as executable (Apache can't look into a directory that isn't executable).

  • Issues in ssl configuration with apache server (using reverse proxy)

    Hi,
    I am able to use apache server as a reverse proxy to connect to Portal. When I enter the web server url as https://mywebserver.com, I am able to connect to the http url of the Portal. But the moment I try to connect to the https url of Portal with this https url, I am not able to connect to the Portal. Thus I am not able to use apache as a proxy server for https connections it makes. What must I do. I read that mod_proxy_connect needs to be used, but how do I use this?
    The second problem is that I need to use more than one kind of mapping.
    For example I must be redirected to the Portal even if I use http://webserver.com , or even if I use https://webserver.com or even if I use http://webserver.com/irj or https://webserver.com/irj or http://ipaddress-websserver/irj etc

    I have SSLCertificateFile and
    and SSLCertificateKeyFile .
    My problem is with regard to ssl/CertificateChainFile?
    what is this? Also how do I upload my J2EE Certificate into apache.
    The problem is with Apache handshake is not happening.
    I am forwarding the entire log during . I have put what I consider important in bold.Please have a look.

  • [solved] Owncloud over SSL: http works, but over https only apache

    Hello,
    I try to setup owncloud with SSL.
    Accessing over http works, but over https, I reach the default apache page instead of the owncloud page.
    (I set up SSL according to https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/LAMP#SSL )
    How could I make the owncloud site available over https?
    relevant files:
    owncloud.conf:
    <IfModule mod_alias.c>
    Alias /owncloud /usr/share/webapps/owncloud/
    </IfModule>
    <Directory /usr/share/webapps/owncloud/>
    Options FollowSymlinks
    Require all granted
    php_admin_value open_basedir "/srv/http/:/home/:/tmp/:/usr/share/pear/:/usr/share/webapps/owncloud/:/etc/webapps/owncloud/:/mt/daten/owncloud/"
    </Directory>
    <VirtualHost *:80>
    ServerAdmin [email protected]
    DocumentRoot /usr/share/webapps/owncloud
    ServerName http://example.com/owncloud
    </VirtualHost>
    I tried to change 80 to 443, but then, systemctl restart httpd didn't work. (apache failed)
    httpd.conf:
    # This is the main Apache HTTP server configuration file. It contains the
    # configuration directives that give the server its instructions.
    # See <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/> for detailed information.
    # In particular, see
    # <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/mod/directives.html>
    # for a discussion of each configuration directive.
    # Do NOT simply read the instructions in here without understanding
    # what they do. They're here only as hints or reminders. If you are unsure
    # consult the online docs. You have been warned.
    # Configuration and logfile names: If the filenames you specify for many
    # of the server's control files begin with "/" (or "drive:/" for Win32), the
    # server will use that explicit path. If the filenames do *not* begin
    # with "/", the value of ServerRoot is prepended -- so "logs/access_log"
    # with ServerRoot set to "/usr/local/apache2" will be interpreted by the
    # server as "/usr/local/apache2/logs/access_log", whereas "/logs/access_log"
    # will be interpreted as '/logs/access_log'.
    # ServerRoot: The top of the directory tree under which the server's
    # configuration, error, and log files are kept.
    # Do not add a slash at the end of the directory path. If you point
    # ServerRoot at a non-local disk, be sure to specify a local disk on the
    # Mutex directive, if file-based mutexes are used. If you wish to share the
    # same ServerRoot for multiple httpd daemons, you will need to change at
    # least PidFile.
    ServerRoot "/etc/httpd"
    # Mutex: Allows you to set the mutex mechanism and mutex file directory
    # for individual mutexes, or change the global defaults
    # Uncomment and change the directory if mutexes are file-based and the default
    # mutex file directory is not on a local disk or is not appropriate for some
    # other reason.
    # Mutex default:/run/httpd
    # Listen: Allows you to bind Apache to specific IP addresses and/or
    # ports, instead of the default. See also the <VirtualHost>
    # directive.
    # Change this to Listen on specific IP addresses as shown below to
    # prevent Apache from glomming onto all bound IP addresses.
    #Listen 12.34.56.78:80
    Listen 80
    <IfModule mod_ssl.c>
    Listen 443
    </IfModule>
    # Dynamic Shared Object (DSO) Support
    # To be able to use the functionality of a module which was built as a DSO you
    # have to place corresponding `LoadModule' lines at this location so the

    OK, solved.
    What I made wrong:
    https://localhost leads to the apache page
    https://localhost/owncloud leads to the owncloud page.

  • Connectivity issue between ABAP and JAVA stack

    Hi All
    we are facing the following issue while running interface. message got failed while processing Graphical mapping in Java stack. Can any one please help us what could be the issue here? Is there anything we missed from Config / XI development.

    Appreciate your quick response.

    Hi Yadagiri,
    Please check the reply from Carlos in the below thread
    Re: increasing heapsize of java on WINDOWS 2003
    Also check your sm59 RFC destination, i guess there is some problem.
    Delete AI_RUNTIME_JCOSERVER(RFC connection between the Java engine and the ABAP engine) and create it again.
    Hope tht will resolve ur issue...

  • Perl won't load GD::Graph::pie in Apache, but does with terminal.

    It took me forever to get GD to work at all. Now I'm totally stuck. I hope someone can help me. If I run my cgi file from terminal using "perl /Library/WebServer/CGI-Executables/GraphTest.cgi" it prints the "jpeg". If I run it from apache using "http://localhost/cgi-bin/GraphTest.cgi", I get an error saying "Can't locate GD/Graph/pie.pm" along with the typical PATH settings and such. Why can perl run the script without issue, but using web sharing/apache perl can't find the perl module? I assume this is an apache issue?
    More details:
    *I finally got GD installed using port
    *Every time I attempted to install GD and it failed, I erased the HDD and reinstalled OSX. So, this is a very fresh install.
    *This is Snow Leopard, not Snow Leopard Server
    *If I add the following two lines and run, "sudo perl /Library/WebServer/CGI-Executables/GraphTest.cgi" it will create the graph in my profile directory:
    open(GRAPH,">graph5.jpg") || die "Cannot open graph5.jpg: $!\n";
    print GRAPH $graph->gd->jpeg(100);
    *The cgi file:
    #!/usr/bin/perl -w
    use strict;
    use GD::Graph::pie;
    use Text::CSV_XS;
    my @data;
    my $csv = new Text::CSV_XS;
    open(FILE,"/Library/WebServer/data/testmetrics.csv") || die "Cannot open testmetrics.csv: $!\n";
    while (my $line = <FILE>) {
    $csv->parse($line);
    my @col = $csv->fields;
    push(@data,\@col);
    my $graph = new GD::Graph::pie(300, 300);
    $graph->set(
    title => 'Revenue by Category for 2001',
    label => 'Category',
    axislabelclr => 'black',
    '3d' => 1,
    start_angle => 90,
    suppress_angle => 5,
    ) or warn $graph->error;
    $graph->plot(\@data) or die $graph->error;
    print $graph->gd->jpeg(100);

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
    I see some problems with your script, though they wouldn't be a problem with GD::Graph::pie. I'm not sure yet what that problem is.
    This script works on my computer:
    #!/usr/bin/perl
    use strict;
    use GD::Graph::pie;
    use CGI qw(:standard);
    my @data = (
    ["1st","2nd","3rd","4th","5th","6th"],
    [ 4, 2, 3, 4, 13, 3.5]
    my $my_graph = new GD::Graph::pie( 250, 200 );
    #$my_graph = new GD::Graph::pie( );
    $my_graph->set(
    title => 'A Pie Chart',
    label => 'Label',
    axislabelclr => 'black',
    pie_height => 36,
    l_margin => 15,
    r_margin => 15,
    start_angle => 235,
    transparent => 0,
    $my_graph->plot(@data);
    print header('Content-type' => 'image/jpeg');
    binmode STDOUT;
    print $my_graph->gd->jpeg(100);
    Note that I included the CGI module, and printed a header with the content type before sending the graphic.
    If that script doesn't work on your computer, I'd be interested in seeing the output of this script (run by Apache, of course):
    #!/usr/bin/perl
    use strict;
    use CGI qw(:standard);
    print header();
    print qq(Perl version (Apache): ) . $] . qq(
    my $info = qx(perl -V);
    print qq(<pre>$info</pre>
    foreach my $key (sort keys %ENV) {
    print qq($key = $ENV{$key}
    I'd also be curious to see the results of "perl -V" vs. "/usr/bin/perl -V" run from the command line. Perhaps you are somehow using two different Perls...

  • Create Adobe PDF from Word DOCX Issue

    Good Morning All,
    We have stumbled across an apparently well-known issue, which annoyingly for all concerned does not seem to have a satisfying answer.  One rather long discussion is here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4237240.  There is at least one other which also alludes to the issue basically involving Office 2010 SP1 and having the Word user template location re-directed to a network drive.  None of the suggested things have worked, and we do not want to even try the user template location on a local drive, we want a fix for what is really a fairly standard scenario.
    I think we have found something new to add to the mix, this is noted later in the post.  For completeness I have also included a condensed version of events/stuff we have tried, to help anybody who reads this and may have an answer.
    Our scenario is as follows:
    We recently performed a Microsoft Office 2007 to Office 2010 SP1 upgrade.  A week or so in advance of this we upgraded all those folks that had Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 to X, (v10.0.0).
    Within a couple of days of the Office upgrade we had reports of an issue whereby users could not convert Word documents to PDF.  Window title: Create Adobe PDF, message: Unable to open the document <path to file>.  Please check to see if you have permission for the above file.  (The user always does have rights to the location.)
    All machines are 32bit Windows 7 and well capable of running this OS and these apps.
    Machine patching is maintained by SCCM.
    Deployment of Acrobat and Office was done by SCCM.
    The issue broken down:
    Conversion of Word documents to PDF fails in these scenarios:
    Windows Explorer – right click of single file and ‘Convert to PDF’.
    Windows Explorer – right click of multiple files and batch conversion option.
    Outlook – Convert to PDF and e-mail.  (Error message is different, apologies I have no note of this to hand.)
    It should be noted that conversion of any other file format works, plus conversion of Word documents consistently works inside the Word interface using Adobe toolbar.
    Not consistently a user based issue:
    It usually * fails for our main test user on her PC.  Although sometimes a single file or batch file conversion will work.  However the option in Outlook never works.  (* Every so often the single file and batch conversion’s do work for the test user, there is no obvious reason as we have not applied any fixes that worked!)
    Everything works fine for the test user on my PC and another PC in her department.
    Not consistently a machine based issue.
    The process always works for me on my machine, but fails most of the time when I use the test users PC.
    The process always works for a test account cloned from the test user’s actual account.
    Giving local admin rights to the test user did not help.
    Summary of things tried:
    Various forum suggestions have not worked:
    Deleting/renaming normal.dotm worked initially but the problem returned within a couple of days.
    Registering some Adobe DLL's: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\PDFMaker\Office\PDFMOfficeAddin.dll & C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\PDFMaker\Common\AdobePDFMakerX.dll.
    The Word Add-in tool bar is enabled.
    The users name and intials are present in Word options.
    There are no rogue temp files in %temp% or C:\users\<user>\appdata\roaming\microsoft\word.
    Stuff we have tried independently:
    Repair Office install then repair Adobe install.
    Patching Acrobat to 10.1.1 & 10.1.4.
    Remove and re-install of Acrobat, including patch.
    Remove and re-install of Acrobat Pro and Reader, (using the official Adobe labs removal tool), including patch.  (When products were removed Office was repaired.  Just Acrobat Pro X was installed after, no Reader.)
    During this work I noticed two files in %temp% which get updated when file conversion is attempted: amt.log and swtag.log.  After Googling these files I found there may be some interesting stuff in amt.log when the process fails.  Unfortunately this has not been the case.  There is no obvious log entry difference between a successful conversion and a failure.
    However at this time I started to notice files in %temp% in the following format: cv*.tmp.cvr.  Google revealed these to be Office crash dump files.  Unfortunately these files are always zero bytes long and literally contain nothing to analyse!
    So after clearing out all these .cvr files I ran Task Manager, and had %temp% open in a folder.  I then tried the conversion process:
    Firstly it fails!
    Secondly a zero byte .cvr file is created and usually disappears right away.
    Thirdly winword.exe appears and disappears quickly in Task Manager.
    You can repeat this to your heart’s content by hitting the retry button!
    The only thing I can add about my PC is that I never had Acrobat until I tried installing it to re-create the issue.  So it may be that my PC having no legacy Adobe install issues, (I only had Reader previously), was less prone to whatever is the root of this issue?  The affected machines in the field have at least been upgraded from v9.
    As you can tell we have found it very hard to pin the issue down.  The circumstances for a failure are not consistently repeatable.  I do think the key thing we have noticed though is the obvious crashing of winword.exe when this process fails.  As evidenced by the creation of the cv*.tmp.cvr files and watching the process appear and disappear in Task Manager.  Nothing I have read elsewhere notes this, and it seems to me that winword.exe does not like being called in this way.  This is surely very key to the issue?

    I should also add that there are no error messages appearing on screen when we have a failure, and nothing is logged in any Windows event log.
    I have done lots more searching since first reporting this.  Lots of people have this issue going back to last year at least with Office 2010 SP1 Acrobat X.  No answers or fixes out there apparently despite being promised to some people who have done a bug report.
    This is really not good enough.  I have reported our scenario as a bug report earlier today.  Hopefully I will get a proper fix, then I will gladly pass it on.

  • 11.5.10.2 - Why So Many Apache Bounces

    Hello.
    We have been struggling for years between 11.5.9 and 11.5.10.0 and 11.5.10.1 and 11.5.10.2 to get updates to properly appear on the self-service home page after changes to functions, menus, profile options, and even added responsibilities.
    What can often happen is when a change is made, it is not always reflected on the SS Home Page until after Apache is bounced. Clearing the client's browser cache has no effect. Only an Apache bounce fixes the issue.
    Oracle Support has been little help. They admitted to the issues in 11.5.9 and assured us that in 11.5.10 it would be fixed. Here we are now are CU2 and it's still a problem.
    Although it does not happen every time, it is often enough to cause plenty of bounces to be needed. This won't work for production, that's for sure.
    The problem has been reduced in each newer version of the Apps, but it has not been resolved.
    Has anyone determined a work around that they can share?
    Thank you.

    I agree that sometimes the need to bounce Apache after every change is ridiculous. OAF development within JDeveloper should weed out the testing issues (although I can't get Jdeveloper to work for every development test I do).
    However, changes to the UI through personalisation, FND changes etc should never require a bounce in my view.
    An even more frustrating problem is workflow development now, where, PL/SQL package states are cached in the JVM database connection and if you change them you get invalid package state exceptions, which, using the OAF Workflow Manager are sometimes impossible to clear without a bounce.
    Never used to be this hard with the old PL/SQL Server pages!!
    Ideally there should be a way of purging an object from the JVM and forcing it to reload the new state so bounces would not be required. That may or may not be technically possible as it's definitely over my head!!
    Any more views?
    Chris

  • WebLogic and Apache

    Hi,
              We are developing an application using WebLogic ejb and servlet and we
              are planning to use Apache as the HTTP server. Are there any know
              issues about this combination?
              According to the manual, the mod_proxy of Apache can be used to link
              Apache and Weblogic. Has anybody done that?
              Thanks,

    This doesn't sound like a definitive answer. Are you saying we will NOT
              support you if you use Apache?
              Should it work? What are people doing wrong? The answer below isn't
              much help IMHO.

  • Weblogic apache HTTP configuration question

    Hi All,
    Here is my current configuration:
    Oracle Weblogic 10.01
    Linux Centos 5
    Apache HTTP 2.2
    LoadModule weblogic_module modules/mod_wl_22.so
    <Location /TESTCRM>
    <IfModule mod_weblogic.c>
    SetHandler weblogic-handler
    WeblogicHost 192.168.100.20
    WebLogicPort 8002
    CookieName SAGPHSESSIONID
    Debug ON
    KeepAliveEnabled ON
    WLSocketTimeoutSecs 5
    WLLogFile "D:/Apache2.2/logs/wlproxy.log"
    </IfModule>
    </Location>
    It works fine. http://localhost/TESTCRM load the application located on the Weblogic server.
    Is there way to exclude certain directory from being loaded from weblogic server?
    We want resource folder to be loaded from local apache machine.
    http://localhost/TESTCRM/resource (resource folder is located on the apache htdoc folder)
    How can I exclude the resource folding loading via weblogic module? Is that possible? What alternative option do I have? I am new with apache so any help will really appropriate it.
    Here is wlproxy.log (error it trying to load resource from weblogic server but it getting 404 since it does not exist there)
