Apache 2.2 and ColdFusion MX

I have ColdFusion MX 7 and Apache 2.2.4 installed on my
machine, I have ran the latest JRUN connector which created all the
necessary entries in apache etc.
When I try to serve a coldfusion template, I get a 'You have
chosen to open' alert i.e.doesn't recognise the cfm template.
Does anyone know why this is?

I get the same issue when I try to install ColdFusion 8 on
Apache 2.2.4 (on XP). I get to the part where you have to restart
the Apache service, and then go to the "ColdFusion 8 Configuration
and Settings Migration Wizard" via the URL:
http://localhost/cfide/administrator/index.cfm
And I get asked "Do I want to Save the file index.cfm". What
is going on. I have carefully followed the ACME guide and watch
some screencasts, and nobody seems to have this problem. Any
ideas?

  • Scientific Linux 6.2 64-bit and ColdFusion 10 tips.

Just thought I'd let you guys know, that ColdFusion 10 public beta is working fine in SL6.2 64-bit, at least that's how it looks initially - didn't test much yet, but writeoutput(1+1); equals 2!
As with CentOS CF9 installation, you need to do a few tricks. With CF10, you need to install unzip as well.
    Install Apache first.
    Before installing ColdFusion:
    yum install libstdc++.so.5
    yum install httpd-devel
    yum install unzip
    yum install compat-libstdc++-33.x86_64
Run the ColdFusion installer, and choose to configure Apache.
After installing ColdFusion, before running it:
edit /opt/coldfusion10/cfusion/bin/connectors/apache_connector.sh with a text editor, and change the -dir, -bin and -script parameter values to something which match your config. (This must not be a bug, since it hasn't been fixed in CF8 nor CF9 either )
Typically to: -dir /etc/httpd/conf , -bin /usr/sbin/httpd, and -script /etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd
Start ColdFusion and restart Apache if necessary. Worked for me!
If you get a NullpointerException when running the CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm , you've probably just set up a new machine which isn't found by the DNS yet, or the domain name hasn't been configured at all.
Edit your /etc/hosts file, and add the machine's name to the localhost entries. For example, if your machine bottom-level name is mymachine, append "127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain" so it reads "127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain mymachine".
Do the same for the ipv6 line if/when necessary.

  • Apache-Mod_jk-Tomcat and SSL certificate

    Hi all.
I have Apache 2.0.55 working with Tomcat 5.5 via mod_jk connector.
I have generated a self-signed cerificate for Apache using openssl, and I use it to encrypt both URLs served by Apache and URLs served by Tomcat through mod_jk.
When a "https URL" is forwarded to Tomcat, an exception is thrown by the webapp, unless the certificate has not been set as "trusted" on Tomcat side.
So, it seems like I have to do the following:
    1) generate a a self-signed cerificate for Apache using openssl.
    2) import this certificate in a keystore
    3) set the keystore as trusted (System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStore", PATH_TO_KEYSTORE));
I'm wondering if there's a better way to accomplish that, not forcing me to do all this steps and, above all, allowing me to "break" the link between the apache cert and the tomcat keystore.
Any help will be very appreciated!

usually u generate a keystore for client, and mention that in ur SSL connector of tomcat
in apache, we need to configure things in ssl.conf

    Hi all,
My query is related with Oracle and coldfusion. I have got to write a stored procedure for updating a table. In this I have to raise an exception if the field i give for does not exist. Can anyone give an example code for this? I also want to know how it is called in a cfm page.
Following is the stored procedure i have written
    create or replace package group_pack

    where group_id = pt_group_id;
    exception
when no_data_found then (what to code)
    end;
    end;
In this in the (what to code) part i tried returning zero...but then procedures do not return values. Then I tried to RAISE exception, which also showed error.
Also in the cfm page what should be done with the <cfstoredproc> </cfstoredproc>tags. How should it be reflected.....
Please do give a solution to my problem.....
    Thanking in advance....

    Hi Aswathy,
Can you please tell, what error it gave when you had written RAISE command? I think, this is a better choice if you do not want to do anything else like inserting a row with the missing value.

  • SQL Server 2005 and ColdFusion 7

    Hi all,
I am using SQL Server 2005 and ColdFusion 7 (standalone) on
XP 64 Bit. I was using the exact setup a couple of weeks ago, but
had to reinstall my O/S due to hardware problems so am back to the
beginning. I remember having a nightmare setting datasources up in
the past, but did manage to find a solution.
    I have tried the following:
    SQL has TCP/IP Enabled
SQL is set to Mixed Authentication
SQL has a login set to the same as my Windows Username and
    password
My database has a user (dbo) by the same name as the login
    set in SQL
When I add a datasource in the administrator I enter the
windows username and password (I have tried without either as
well), the server name as localhost and the port as the default
    1433.
I always get the following error:
Connection verification failed for data source: DATABASENAME
    java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC
Driver]Error establishing socket. Connection refused: connect
The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException:
    [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver]Error establishing socket.
    Connection refused: connect
Can someone offer any advice? This is driving me proper nuts.
    TIA,

  • Question about the Apache plug-in and WL server

We have a bunch of Weblogic app-servers, and I want to set up Apache servers to
front-end them. Here is what I'd like to do:
    (1) Load balancer forwards requests to one of Apache servers
    (2) Apache serves the static content (html, gif, css etc.)
    (3) Apache servers forward the request to one of the alive Weblogic servers, with
requests for the same Weblogic session should preferably stay with the same Weblogic
    server.
The catch is that we are not using Weblogic clustering - we have our own application-specific
light-weight clustering (virtually no replication of dynamic state). All I want
is that the Apache plug-ins keep forwarding the packets to the same Weblogic server
for a session (unless the server dies), and that thsi property hold even if multiple
client requests (for the same session) are rotated across multiple Apache servers.
The first is really important, the second just nice-to-have (I can setup load-balancer
    with sticky sessions if needed).
The Apache plug-in documentation seems to suggest that we must use Weblogic clustering
for us to be able to specify multiple Weblogic servers in the plug-in config file,
    but is that really required?
Second, does the session cookie uniquely identify the Weblogic server or does
the Apache plug-in keep the mapping between the cookie and the server? Also, does
this answer depend on whether we use Weblogic clustering or not?
The answer depends on the protocol between the Apache plug-in and the Weblogic
server. Is it documented? Available under NDA?
Your help will be really appreciated!!
    thanks
    -amit

is that the Apache plug-ins keep forwarding the packets to the same Weblogic
    server
for a session (unless the server dies), If the session id is found in the cookie, request or postdata (in that order),
the plugin will preserve the sticky session.
and that thsi property hold even
    if multiple
client requests (for the same session) are rotated across multiple Apache
servers. The rules apply to all apache instances as the single instance.
BTW, the preferred server from the session has to be in the serverList(you defined
in the httpd.conf). You are not using clusters in the backend hence the server
    list will not be updated
dynamically. The plugin will not know the changes in the backend without modifying
    the httpd.conf and restarted.
The first is really important, the second just nice-to-have (I can setup
    load-balancer
    with sticky sessions if needed).
The Apache plug-in documentation seems to suggest that we must use Weblogic
    clustering
for us to be able to specify multiple Weblogic servers in the plug-in
    config file,
    but is that really required?
It's a recommended configuration, but not mandatory.
Second, does the session cookie uniquely identify the Weblogic server
    or does
the Apache plug-in keep the mapping between the cookie and the server? The server info is in the cookie for the same client although
the plugin also maintains a list of servers.
    Also, does
this answer depend on whether we use Weblogic clustering or not?
    No.
The answer depends on the protocol between the Apache plug-in and the
    Weblogic
server. Is it documented? Available under NDA?
Your help will be really appreciated!!
We only support http and https(60sp1 or later).

  • Apache reverse proxy and SSL termination

    Hi Guru's
Can anyone tell me, how to do SSL termination at apache reverse proxy. I am using apache reverse proxy for accesing portal from internet. Apache is configured for SSL and portal is NON SSL.
I am using header variable login module in portal. i wanted to terminate SSL at apache reverse proxy and then all traffic after that should be clear text.
should i maitain any property. is there any documentation for it.
    Please help me
    Tom

The majority of the work here is around configuring your Web Dispatcher and Apache Reverse proxy. The work on the portal is straight forward enabling of SSL.
You can follow http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/f1/2de3be0382df45a398d3f9fb86a36a/frameset.htm for setting this up.
what level I need to configure SSL and how do I proceed in both scenarios?
Your question itself says where you need SSL. SSL is required where ever you need HTTPS communication.
how do I proceed in both scenarios?
From a portal perspective, the configuration should remain the same.
Do I have to install SSL at portal, web dispatcher or at Apache level?
SSL needs to be configured at all the 3 levels if you are looking at end to end SSL implementation.
See the following for possible SSL implementation options:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/d8/a922d7f45f11d5996e00508b5d5211/frameset.htm
    https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/docs/DOC-115509
Will SSL termination work for scenario 2?
Yes this should work - see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/36/fd39eacf4cde4a8fe32d7f29b3db16/frameset.htm
However in case of SSL Termination, the request to your portal from the web dispatcher will be sent as HTTP.
I would recommend you to take a step by step (backward approach).
First, enable SSL on your portal and make sure it works - going directly to the server.
Then, you can introduce the Web Dispatcher - and test if every thing works going through the web dispatcher.
Finally - you can test the end to end flow - with your Reverse proxy involved.

  • How to integrate Apache Web Server and Apache Tomcat 4.0 ?

    <pre>
    Hi All,
Can anyone give me a detailed description(or url that tells so) of how to install the Apache Web Server, Apache Tomcat Server4.0 and Integrate both of them.
Still now I am using Apache Tomcat 4.0 as a standalone application and now I want to learn how to install, use Apache Web Server and integrate this with Apache Tomcat.
Please point me to exact location, url to download the recent Apache Web Server and,
Can I use my existing Standalone Apache Tomcat 4.0 to integrate this with Apache Web Server that I am going to download.
A detailed explanation of how to integrate both is very helpful.
    Thanks in advance.
    <pre>

The way to integrate Apache Web Server & Apache is very easy. The first step is download the library to connect both servers. This library can be download from http://jakarta.apache.org/builds/jakarta-tomcat-4.0/release/v4.0/bin/webapp-module-1.0-tc40-windows.zip.
Copy the files to APACHE_HOME\modules and open httpd.conf to change any lines:
You find the section "LoadModule" and you add the next lines:
    LoadModule webapp_module modules/mod_webapp.so
    AddModule mod_webapp.c
And the end of the file you must add these lines:
    WebAppConnection conexion warp localhost:8008
    WebAppDeploy examples conexion /examples
The first parameter -2nd line- (examples) is the URL name application, the second is the connection's name and the last parameter is the application's name. This name is the same which in servlet.xml.
At last you can add one more lines to check the module's configuration:
    WebAppInfo /webapp-info
If you visit http://<yoor_host>/webapp-info you can see the configuration.
