Apache+Tomcat access to static apache data from Tomcat
Hi,
Apache is in path /opt/apache
and tomcat is on /opt/apache/tomcat
I have to access to static data (/opt/apache/data) that is handled by my apache http server from my tomcat web application. Is there a way to do this in a clean way without doing things like this :
getServletCoontext().getRealPath(xxx) and doing some ../data manipulations
Thanks
I'm not completely sure I fully understand your problem.
I do not recommend opening sockets to your own WLS instance. That is a
recipe for deadlock.
Can you just include the static file in your response?

We have a WebApplication which is running on a WebLogic Server 6.1.
The clients access to the application via an Apache hosted in another machine.
The Apache server redirects the requests to the server except the static files
which are served by the Apache Server.
Nevertheless, we have a few static resources that are not requested by the external
clients but are requested by the application in the WLS. The problem is that to
make this, it access the resource via the WLS, that is, via an url. That makes
the WLS open at least one socket. This cause that after a few time, there are
too many sockets in the machine opened in TIME-WAIT state.
For some reasons it is not possible to change the configuration of the sockets
in the server hosting the WLS.
We would like to access to this resources that are in the war of the WebApllication
without opening a socket.
Is it possible? Any ideas or suggestions?
Many many thanks in advance,

How do I access iCloud Calendar & Contact data from a pre-Lion iMac?
How do I access iCloud Calendar data from my pre-Lion iMac?
Hardware Overview:
Model Name: iMac
Model Identifier: iMac4,1
Processor Name: Intel Core Duo
System 10.7 is not available for this iMac.
Since MobileMe has died, and my other iMac is running 10.7 Lion, iCloud is now the fact in Apple internet data sharing.
I'd like to keep my Address Book (now Contacts in 10.7) and Calendar in sync with my pre-10.7 iMac. How is this done?
Many Thanks,
PBHA nice idea, but ≈$100 for far more than I need. It feels like overkill.
I was thinking something more like a simple CalDAV connection. -
Access to JSTL localization data from java/javascript
The core problem is very basic - I need to have access to same localization data both from JSP and Javascript code.
I successfully localized JSP data using
fmt:setLocale and fmt:message that read from messages_xx.properties files.
I want to have access to same locale strings (messages_xx.properties) data from javascript code. I am going to use code like -
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
var LocalizedStrings = {
<%
// Here we obtain strings from .properties files
// maybe using something like
// some_bundle = some_context.getBundle("???")
out.println("key1: \"String 1\"");
// printing out data from our bundle
%>
Could anybody point me how can I obtain the needed data, or maybe I have used the wrong library for achieving my purpose? I didn't find any such example for current libraryAnd finally I found an evident solution, that didn't come into my mind, cause I am new to java resources -
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
var LocalizedStrings = {
<%
ResourceBundle mybundle = ResourceBundle.getBundle("Messages",new Locale("en"));
Enumeration en = mybundle.getKeys();
while(en.hasMoreElements()){
String key = (String) en.nextElement();
String value = mybundle.getString(key);
out.print(key);out.print(":");out.println("'"+value+"',");
%>
</script>
where XX is the set locale like "en" -
MS Access - Failed to retrieve data from the database
Hello,
I've developed a quite complex report (CR XI) from a SQL Server 2005 database. The report contains a number of inner and outer joins and a subreport.
I have a duplicate copy of the database held in MS Access. If I attempt to change the datasource location to the MS Access database, I'm unable to run the report and get the following error:
Failed to retrieve data from the database.
Details: ADO Error Code: 0x80040e14
Source: Microsoft JET Database Engine
Description: Join expression not supported.
SQL State: 3000
Native Error: -540806602 (Database Vendor Code: -540806602)
By changing every outer join to an inner, the report pulls in data but obviously not what is required. It seems as though it doesn't like the outer joins.......
Would this be in some way due to limitations with the JET database engine?
Thanks in advance,
DomHi Aditya joshi,
Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately my query doesn't contain any FULL OUTER joins, just INNER and LEFT OUTER's.
I've enclosed a parred down version of the SQL:
SELECT numerous fields
FROM (`AAL` `AAL`
INNER JOIN
((((((`CQ` `CQ`
LEFT OUTER JOIN (((`SH` `SH`
INNER JOIN ((`PA` `PA`
INNER JOIN `AL` `AL`
ON `PA`.`ProjectUPRN`=`AL`.`ProjectUPRN`)
INNER JOIN `CA` `CA`
ON `PA`.`ArchetypeID`=`CA`.`ArchetypeCode`)
ON `SH`.`ProjectUPRN`=`AL`.`ProjectUPRN`)
INNER JOIN `SD` `SD`
ON `SH`.`SurveyID`=`SD`.`SurveyID`)
INNER JOIN `F` `F`
ON `SH`.`FormID`=`F`.`FormID`)
ON `CQ`.`QuestionID`=`SD`.`QuestionID`)
LEFT OUTER JOIN `PC` `PC`
ON (`CQ`.`QuestionID`=`PC`.`QuestionID`)
AND (`AL`.`ProjectUPRN`=`PC`.`ProjectUPRN`))
INNER JOIN `FI` `FI`
ON (`CQ`.`QuestionID`=`FI`.`QuestionID`)
AND (`F`.`FormID`=`FI`.`FormID`))
LEFT OUTER JOIN `QG` `QG`
ON `CQ`.`QuestionID`=`QG`.`QuestionID`)
LEFT OUTER JOIN `CQG` `CQG`
ON `QG`.`QuestionGroupID`=`CQG`.`QuestionGroupID`)
LEFT OUTER JOIN (`E` `E`
INNER JOIN `SDE` `SDE`
ON `E`.`ElementID`=`SDE`.`ElementID`)
ON `SD`.`SurveyDataID`=`SDE`.`SurveyDataID`)
ON `AAL`.`ProjectUPRN`=`AL`.`ProjectUPRN`)
INNER JOIN `A` `A`
ON `AAL`.`AreaID`=`A`.`AreaID`
Can you see where the problem lies?
Many thanks,

Accessing same time capsule data from different computers
I have been using my Time Capsule to back up several Mac's, and everything is fine. But I just purchased a new MacBook Pro and after several days, wanted to upload (download? sync?) my iTunes library from one computer to the other. I cannot find a way for the new computer to 'see' the files from my old computer.
Time Machine is not designed to allow that.
And iTunes is not designed to allow you to do that either.
You should visit the iTunes discussion area to learn how to move/copy/share iTunes libraries between computers. -

Accessing Datagrid row data from within an itemRenderer
I would like to know how I can access another row's data from within an itemRenderer. I need to do some formatting of my cells based on other row data. Here's what I mean... I have a datagrid and in row 0 col 2's itemRenderer I would like to access row 1 col 1's data in order to do a comparison so I can determine how to format row 0 col 2's data and so on. Is there a way from within the item renderer to reach into another row and access the data? I can't seem to find a clear answer so I thought I'd go to the pro's.
Thanks!!You can use this code to get to the dataProvider of the grid.
var o:Object = this.parent.parent;
var dp:Object = o.dataProvider; -
Get the data from excel and insert into the database
I want to read the data from excel file, get the data from excel and insert into the database.
You can use the Apache POI HSSF API to read data from Excel files and you can use the Sun JDBC API to insert data in database.
This has nothing to do with JSP/JSTL. -
Need to copy Data from a specific Html Tag
Hello,
I am trying to use CF to access website and capture data from a specific tag to the end of that tag and store same in a csv file or database.
The tag based search of an open file is where I am not able to get any head way. Any one has done this?You'll need to use a regular expression for that. CF supports regular expressions with the REFind, REFindNoCase and REReplace functions. Here's an example of using regular expressions to capture the value within an HTML tag:
http://www.javamex.com/tutorials/regular_expressions/example_scraping_html.shtml
It's in Java, but the syntax for regular expressions is the same in CF.

Is there a way of accessing your back up data from the computor without the use of an i-phone?
If it wasnt activated prior icloud wont help now. Did you ever use the save and print option to "send it itunes"? I did that all the time prior to icloud to back up my docs. Then you can "copy from itunes" in the new document dialog.
I still recommend doing the export to iTunes to create a local back up copy on ocassion.
For future reference, To activate icloud for documents, go into the main settings app, tap icloud, then documents and data, and turn it on. Then go to the app (maybe numbers) further down the main settings list, tap it and turn on "use icloud".

One thing I found was that you really need to use the context.xml file in your Meta-inf directory, putting the datasource anywhere else gets into one kind of trouble or another. I tried using server.xml, a context file for the application and the web-inf file. -

EstherI looked at the code after a jsp compiled to a servlet. The
jspService method of "EditTmpForm.jsp" is about 801 KB. But for another jsp "EditOperation.jsp", the jspService method is about 236 KB.
Both are much greater than 64 K, but why it runs okay for "EditOperation.jsp" but gives me error for "EditTmpForm.jsp"?
Furthermore, since the HTML form is long, so the HTML code itself is bigger than 64 K, how can you prevent your _jspService method so that is is shorter than 64K?
Thanks for your help!

Error reading data from static cursor cache.
Hi,
Does anyone know what causes this error below. It just started happening out of the blue. I'm running Apache Tomcat 4.1 on Win 2000 server with MS SQL Server 2000 database.
Error:
java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][SQLServer JDBC Driver]Error reading data from static cursor cache.
Thanks,
TRhi,
i had a similar sort of error, something along the lines of "error setting up static cursor cache" using the SQL JDBC drivers on Win2K. i deleted the file entries in the TEMP folder of c:\documents and settings\<user>\Local Settings\TEMP and everything was cool after it. i'm not sure what the exact issue is (probably something like maximum folder size had been reached). i ran the FileMon utility from www.sysinternals.com and it reported a DISK_FULL error on a temporary file being read by the process. to cut a long story short, everything is NOW cool.
cheer,
dara
