APDs with large internal tables

Hi Everyone!
I have a problem with APDs where we use several ABAP routine within. When exploding the data to the lowest level we get 10 million lines and there is not enough space to transfer the data between the different ABAP routine. There isn't space enough to extend the internal tables.
We have tried to have several APDs and several transactional ODSs but it will still not work.
Does anyone has an idea how we could solve this issue ?

Hi Ronen!
Sounds like you run out of physical memory and swapping started. If parameters are still the same (allowed memory per session...), then higher system resource requirements of the new release might be the reason of less space for the sessions.
Check the memory situation (ST02?), maybe a serialization of the big programs can give them enough memory to perform in the old way.

ABAP to XML with several internal tables

hi,
i have to make a XML file with this structure :

and that for several orders...
I don't know anything about XML, XLST and since 1 day just start to read doc, tutorial.. and i can't say i'm understanding everythings..
so, in a first step, i have tried to export several Order headers :
I have done a XSLT (thanks to another topic/replies in the forum) and call it with CALL TRANSFORMATION and it works good...
now,and here i need a little help, i would like to know :
1-is it possible to work with 2 internal tables and in this case, how to make XLST looping all item for each header?
2-or should i use only one internal table with deep structure?

Im trying to update db table in user exit, with the internal table
my scenario:
loop at itekpo.
updating itekpo -
> at the end of user exit the db table ekpo have to be updated
endloop.
Im updating internal table, using
MODIFY itekpo TRANSPORTING INCO1 INCO2 WHERE ebeln = itekpo-ebeln
where itekpo is internal table, but it is not updating the db table 'ekpo'.
i also tried updating ekpo directly !

can we have 2 diffterent tables with same internal table data into its work area in the main window.Is it possible or we will get any run time error.?
is it like having 2 nested loop with same internal table ?

do you need to have a controlled way of display ...of the data...
If so then you create another workarea in the global definitions of the same type and then use it...

How to do parallel processing with dynamic internal table

Hi All,
I need to implement parallel processing that involves dynamically created internal tables. I tried doing so using RFC function modules (using starting new task and other such methods) but didn't get success this requires RFC enabled function modules and at the same time RFC enabled function modules do not allow generic data type (STANDARD TABLE) which is needed for passing dynamic internal tables. My exact requirement is as follows:
1. I've large chunk of data in two internal tables, one of them is formed dynamically and hence it's structure is not known at the time of coding.
2. This data has to be processed together to generate another internal table, whose structure is pre-defined. But this data processing is taking very long time as the number of records are close to a million.
3. I need to divide the dynamic internal table into (say) 1000 records each and pass to a function module and submit it to run in another task. Many such tasks will be executed in parallel.
4. The function module running in parallel can insert the processed data into a database table and the main program can access it from there.
Unfortunately, due to the limitation of not allowing generic data types in RFC, I'm unable to do this. Does anyone has any idea how to implement parallel processing using dynamic internal tables in these type of conditions.

How to upload data with dynamic internal table

I have to upload the basic , sales, purchasing view data by using bapi depend on check box selected for views.
i have filled fieldcatalog for selected views and pass the field catalog structure to dynamic int table and
import it into the field symbol <fs_data>. this field symbol assigned to <fs_1>.
then callED the 'GUI_UPLOAD ' and when i pass field symbo for function module i am getting first 10 rows 0f the file .
flat file has basic data,sales ,purchase fields data
ex: i was selected basicview and purchase view and execute i am getting basic,sales view data.
how can i get only basic and purchase data.

How to process very large internal tables and stop time limit

Hello Experts,
I am currently having a problem on how to fix a certain report where we process more than 500 thousand
records in the internal table. I can't think of any solution that can make the below code any faster.

Hi!
First of all, don't use SELECT SINGLE inside of LOOP,
instead SELECT all relevated rows before LOOP in intertal tables (using FOR ALL ENTRIES) and then use
READ TABLE WITH KEY BINARY SEARCH.
it will match faster.
for example:
IF NOT lt_vbap[] IS INITIAL.
SELECT vbeln
FROM vbfa
INTO lt_vbill
FOR ALL ENTRIES IN lt_vbap
WHERE vbelv = lt_vbap-vbeln.
ENDIF.
SORT lt_vbap BY vbeln.
READ TABLE lt_vbill WITH KEY vbeln = <wa_vbap>-vbeln
BINARY SEARCH.

Issue with clearing internal table

Hi Gurus,
I am working on an issue, where when we run a std. report we see social number of the employee on the output screen, when I debugged the program I found that there are 2 internal tables where we are putting this SSN. I tried to clear the SSN at the both the places like:
loop at it_table.
clear it_table-SSN.
Endloop.
but still when I ran the report I am seeing social there. so can you please give me any idea of what I am doing wrong?

Hi rajeev,
even after ur clearing if the field is still populating it means again its filling the particular field in the later place.
1) keep ur code and while debuging just click on watchpoint and give ur field name go with f8 it will take u to the place the field is filling..
2) below that place clear that field and modify the table..

Populate model node with an internal table

Dear experts
I have an internal table. I have a model node. I need to populate the data in my internal table onto my model node.
In case of a value node, I know how to do this.
I would appreciate if somebody can give me some 'code snippet' on how to do this in case of a model node.
I tried looking into some standard components but its bit confusing.
Any replies will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. Actually I am familiar with using the method 'set_properties'. But my main confusion is on how to create an instance before calling this 'set_properties' method.
For eg: in case of value node, we will use
FIRST CREATE OBJECT
create object lv_value_node
exporting = ls_struct
THEN SET THE PROPERTY
lv_value_node->set_propety ( ).
But in the case of model node, I wont be able to use the statement
"create object lv_model_node
exporting = ls_struct"
So I need to create an instance of the BOL. This is where I am confused. And my BOL is FUSearchRes. It is a 'Search Result object' in Genil_model_browser. So I cannot create a root object. Also I don't see any parent for this.
So I am not sure of how to create objects for this particular BOL. Plz throw some light on this.

Internal table with an internal table

The problem is that the system don't know the fields when I say
gs_tab-pos-number                = 'test'.

Now i need to display this internal table in such a way that,

951 <Blank> 450.00
How to sort for such requirements?
Basically, the item value is blank for Tax amount.
Hence in the report, the layout should show the details as above.... (Line item 1, 2...and at last Total Tax of all line items Amount).
Please Help me.....

How to use 2 for all entries in a select statement.
Below refer to my below code.
select vbeln matnr lfimg vgbel posnr from lips into corresponding fields of table
it_lips for all entries in it_likp   where
              vbeln = it_likp-vbeln and
              matnr = it_mara-matnr.
I want to add another for all entries it_mara.

it is possible....
use this query...
declare another internal table of the same type as it_lips.
data : it_lips_final like it_lips.
select vbeln matnr lfimg vgbel posnr from lips into corresponding fields of table
it_lips for all entries in it_likp where
vbeln = it_likp-vbeln .
loop at it_lips.
read table it_mara into it_mara with key matnr = it_lips-matnr.
if sy-subrc = 0.
    append it_lips to it_lips_final.
endif.
endloop.
refresh it_lips[].
it_lips[] = it_lips_final[]
what the above code does is selects all the entries of vbeln from lips and filters it in the loop reading it from mara checking for matnr value and finally
all the entries according to your requirement is there in it_lips_final which we move it to it_lips again...
this is something similar to writing a for all entries for 2 table.... but in another fashion
