APEX 4.0 install error - insert into wwv_flow_flash_map_regions

Hi guys,
just to let you know, I have just tried to install apex_4.0.zip into my local 11.2 instance on Windows7.
I was hitting the following problem:
insert into wwv_flow_flash_map_regions(id,file_id,region_id,region_name,centroid_x,centroid_y) values(223,9,'DNK-VBR','V
iborg','9.06804513931274','56.6578197479248')
FEHLER in Zeile 1:
ORA-01722: Ungnltige Zahl
After setting
set NLS_LANG=AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252 before starting sqlplus and then running the apexins.sql script it worked fine.
My NLS settings in the registry are as follows:
NLS_LANG=GERMAN_GERMANY.WE8MSWIN1252
Cheers,
Dietmar.

New files will be available between 11:30 - 12 PT that will fix this issue. Please download again after that time.

• HELP!!: Error inserting into table in exception block

I have some pl/sql code. In the exception section I have several lines of code similar to:
WHEN NO_DATA_FOUND THEN
INSERT INTO SCHEMA.ERR_TABLE (err_num, line)
values ('101', V_LINE);
When I try to compile the code it gives me an error:
(1):PLS-00201: identifier 'TEMP_ERRS' must be declared
(2):PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored
(3):PLS-00201: identifier 'TEMP_ERRS' must be declared
(4):PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored
TEMP_ERRS is just a table that exists in a schema?
I tried inserting a record into this table in plain sql code and it worked.
What am I missing??
TIA-

I was able to insert a test record into TEMP_ERRS using plain sql, and it worked so I believe I should have the correct previlage.
The only difference is that the PL/SQL code is part of a trigger, what specific previlage would I need?

• MS SQL Server 2014: Error inserting into Temp table with index and identity field

In this thread, I mentioned a problem with SQL Server 2014:
SQL Server 2014: Bug with IDENTITY INSERT ON
The question was answered, it is a bug. To keep you informed on this issue, I open this discussion.
Problem:
The code below works perfectly fine on MS SQL Server 2008 R2 and MS SQL Server 2012, but gives an error every second time the proc is executed on MS SQL Server 2014. If I do not define any index on the temp table, the problem disappears. Defining the index
after the insert, does not help.

I remember few issues with scan2ident function, I am not sure if they have fixed it however it appears that this is intoduced to SQL 2014 and we need help from MS to get this resolved as it needs code analysis.
It is not getting simulated for other versions of SQL apart from SQL 2014.
Also to add, interestingly, the value of rax is not visibly changed and it was successfully passed on to rcx, which has a valid value, so something should have changed the value of rax inside call to function using call qword ptr [r10+50h], and looking at this
it appears that it might be a list of functions and we are going at particular offset [50h]. So, bottom line is that the call to function qword ptr [r10+50h], should be changing something in rax, and debugging/analyzing this code might give us some more idea.

• Error:insert into testtable numbercolumn values('9,000.00')

In testtable, ID(number(12), amount(number(12))
Now I want to insert the following record. I got error,a invalid number .
insert into testtable(id,amount) values('111','9,000.00');
I think data type is different. amount is number type but '9,000.00' is varchar2.
How can i insert '9,000.00' to number data type?
I do insert to_number('9,000.00'). It doesn't work. Would you help me for this problem.

Since the datatype is number, if your data is not coming from any convertable source as '9,000.00' (i.e a big auto-generated file from another system that needs data conversation), why bother when oracle will still store it in the table as 9000.
SQL> create table testtable (ID number(12), amount number(12));
Table created.
SQL> insert into testtable(id,amount) values(111,to_number('9,000.00','9,999.00'));
1 row created.
SQL> select * from testtable;
ID AMOUNT
111 9000
SQL> insert into testtable(id,amount) values(111,9000);

• CS5 Trial install error-insert disk?

I've successfully downloaded a trial of Photoshop CS5, but when trying to install it the progress bar stops at 0% and I get a message which reads "please insert photoshop cs5 disk to continue". Obviously I don't have the disk as it's a downloadable trial. When I cancel the install i get a long list of error codes which starts like this:
Exit Code: 24

I've come across one or two other people experiencing this problem, but mostly on windows machines, so I've not managed to find an answer to this problem. some explanations I've found are too technical for me to understand, I'm no computer genius. One thing I have noticed is that the sharing and permissions options in the "get info" menu of the install folder are greyed out, and can't be changed. Clicking the padlock does not allow me to make changes as usual. Access privileges for my user (admin) are read and write, but read only for "staff" and "everyone". Don't know if this is anything to do with it, but I read of another case where changing these settings solved the problem. I've tried re-downloading the trial, and installing again, but that hasn't worked.
Some help with this problem would be appreciated.
Thanks

I think this happens if there is more that one installer mounted. Have you tried restarting your entire system, remounting the installer, then trying to reinstall?

course doesn't work. How can I find out what filter it doesn't like? This is
on the LDAP request packet NOT the reply packet so I know its coming from
the WL server...

If you can, the best way would be to to change the column name from SUBTYPE to something that isn't a SQL reserved key word.
You might get around this particular problem by adding @Column(name = "\"SUBTYPE\"") on your attribute. This will force eclipselink to add quotation marks in the generated SLQ, but I think it will cause problems when it comes to some more complicated queries.
In my opinion, the only safe way here is to not use column names that are in conflict with SLQ reserved key words.

• APex 4.1 Error ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG

Hi There,
Facing a strange issue.
I have a regular cursor, and in that cursor loop I have a select statement into some variables based on cursor parameters.
I was getting the "ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column" error so I started individually checking each of the columns. Now it works fine for some column, but the moment I add this number field. It starts throwing this error. Now, the database source where the select is fired is of type number, the variable into which I select it is number .
Infact, I dont have any LONG column defined anywhere.
The strange thing is that the block executes perfectly fine in SQl developer. So looks like a Apex specific issue.
I am on 4.1/11g
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Sun

Now, I have put this inside a Dynamic action (PL/SQL procedure). I think this PL/SQL procedure will go up to about 1500 to 2000 lines of code. There are no long columns involved anywhere or even CLOB, BLOB etc.
Is there any limitation to the size of code? When you say size of a code. Are you saying the whole PL/SQL block is stored in one Varchar2(4000) field? :) Did not know that. I am quite sure, the PL/SQL compiled package on the database would work perfect. Just was wondering why it was not working within APEX!
Also, Is there any documentation regarding this that you might be aware of?You can look at the APEX views. Code for some purposes (like region source) is stored in CLOBs:

• Apex Application inserting into two tables from two regions in a page

Hey Guys,
Fairly new to apex like two days. So please bare with me. I am using apex 4.0.2.00.07.
I have a page with two regions. The first region has only one row and I have no problems accessing it and inserting those values into the table this is what I used to access one column from that one row APEX_APPLICATION.G_F03(1)
The second region is an interactive report, to which I have managed to add a checkbox and a textbox.
1)So if a checkbox has been checked off the row should be inserted
2) if the textbox has been entered it should replaceone of the values.
My question is how to access the second region? I started a loop based on the rows in the collection but that is as far as I got.
FOR idx IN 1..l_collectionTable_name
loop
end loop
Any help would be greatly appreciated?
Thank you

• APEX 4.0.1 ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG col

Hello,
I tried to use the "Database Object Dependencies" in the "Utilties"-section to get an idea of what objects are used in a application. But I got the following error:
ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column
The application consists of 100+ pages and uses abt. 10 schemas. I'm using APEX 4.0.1 on a 10.2.0.4 DB.
Doing this on a small application there are no errors.
Any hint would be welcome to solve this error.

Any Thoughts?

• ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column error

Oracle 11g R1 RHEL 5 64bit (Apex 3.1)
Hi all,
I am having a tough time with this error:
ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column
ORA-06512: at "FPRCHR.PKG_TRIGGER_EMAIL", line 39
ORA-06512: at "ISWRNEW.PKG_NOTIFICATION", line 310
ORA-06512: at "ISWRNEW.PKG_NOTIFICATION", line 1745
ORA-06512: at line 1
The FPRCHR.PKG_TRIGGER_EMAIL looks like follows:
INSERT INTO fprchr.trigger_email
(trigger_email_rid,
email_to,
email_from,
email_body,
email_subject,
email_cc,
email_bcc,
mime_type,
email_priority
VALUES (l_job,
p_recipients,
p_sender,
p_message,
p_subject,
p_cc,
p_bcc,
p_mime_type,
p_priority
execute immediate 'alter session set events ''10046 trace name context off''';
END submit;
It seems like the characters have exceeded the limit that VARCHAR2 can handle? What other data type could I change the fprchr.trigger_email table to? Is that all that is needed?
Thanks.

Did you try with clob data type?

• ORA-00604 error when trying to insert into a XMLTYPE stored as BINARY

Hi. Here's the scenario.
Here's my Oracle version:
Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.1.0.7.0 - 64bit Production
With the Partitioning, OLAP, Data Mining and Real Application Testing options
The database is encoded as AL32UTF8.
First I create the table...
create table binary_table (the_field XMLTYPE) XMLTYPE COLUMN the_field STORE AS BINARY XML;
Now I try and do an insert like this...
insert into binary_table values (xmltype('<?xml version="1.0" encoding="AL32UTF8"?>' || chr(10) || '<a>b</a>' || chr(10)));
and I get this error:
SQLState: 60000
ErrorCode: 604
Position: 122
Error: ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
If I create the table with a CLOB storage option for the XMLTYPE, the insert works fine. If I repeat these steps in another database instance, same Oracle version, that's encoded as WE8ISO8859P1, it also works fine. It behaves the same in several clients. I also tried it with several different values for NLS_LANG and that didn't help.
I do want to say that this database instance has just been set up especially for me so I can do some R&D on AL32UTF8 and XMLTYPE to see if it fits our needs. So it might be a problem with the database instance.
Thanks for taking a look at this.

Hi,
Use this
Load data
append Into TABLE HS_HRMIG_EMP_PER_20MAR07 fields terminated by "," optionally enclosed by '"'
TRAILING NULLCOLS.
Here optional enclosed by is for doubles quotes which should needs to place in single quotes.
like '"'.
try with this.
